//------------------------------// // Alternative Victory! // Story: Twilight Sparkle vs. Applejack in......KAIJUDO! // by NinjaMare //------------------------------// “Your move AJ.” Twilight says as she ends her turn then and there. Applejack draw’s her next card, but instead of adding a Mana card she instead goes on the attack by playing two cards. “This ain’t over yet Twilight, first off I evolve my Headstrong Wanderer into, Bronze-Arm Sabertooth--.” the smaller beast kin creature’s body glowed green, before changing into another four-armed beast kin. Although this one more feline like, and wearing armor and wielding a variety of weapons. "Next I summon another Headstrong Wanderer to join the fun." the table then created another model of the smaller bipedal creature after Applejack places the card down. Once Applejack has summoned her two beast kin, the apple farmer went on an all-out attack! The first was with the Bronze-Arm Gladiator and the target was the dreadnaught, but Twilight simply blocked it with her Tide Gulper, causing the mass of swirling water to stand in front of the large mechanical behemoth. And as the gladiator clashed with the wall of water, the liquid monstrosity rose up like a tide, and literally ate the beast kin in one gulp. The battle continued as the Bronze-Arm Sabertooth made it’s attack, all four arms ready to strike as it leapt high into the air. But during its decent the Reef Gladiator meet it in mid-air, firing a few coral blasts from its arms, but was hacked and shred to pieces by feral beast kin. Now this was a crucial moment for the apple farmer, and she could feel it. If Applejack ended her turn right now....she'd loose, as Twilight would end the game by attack with her Dreadnaught to get rid of her last two shields, and then finisher her off with her Cryo-Nucleus. So Applejack has a choice, either attack one of Twilight's own remaining two shields, since she has no other creatures with the Blocker ability. Or delay her destruction and hope for a game changer, by having her Spirit Totem to destroy the water monster. "Chief Thorn-Bringer." Applejack says as she places her hoof over the card. "Attack Twilight's...Cryo-Nucleus!" the totem monster did as instructed, and after waving its hands, the large machinery based creature was surrounded by thorned roots, and was ripped to scrap metal. "You're move Twilight." the farmer says as the unicorn places her destroyed monster into the discard pile. Twilight drew a card, deposited into her Mana zone bring the count up to 12. “I declare an attack with my Finbarr’s Dreadnaught, to take your last two shields.” The mechanical behemoth began making industrial noises, as parts of its body glowed with energy, then from giant creature a large tidal wave of water came gushing out of its narrow head. the water flooded the entire table, and actually spooked the crowed to back away from the table to not get wet—forgetting that it is all just an illusion—and watched as the raging wave destroyed Applejack’s two shields. Leaving her bare, but alive as Twilight can't finish her off. "It's you're move Applejack." the apple farmer breathed in through her nose, before letting out a breath as she grabs her two destroyed shield cards....which caused her eyes to go wide, a big smile coming onto her muzzle! "Oh no!" Twilight panicked. "HO-WEE! Now that's what I call luck!" Applejack hollered in joy. "Like I said before Twilight, in this game the luck of the draw can turn things around. And it certainly has for me!" Applejack then played one of the two shield cards off the bat. "Say hello to a little spell called, Root Trap!" "NO!" Twilight screamed as she stood up from her stool, and her cheering circled cried out in dismay as well. Applejack then used her spell to send the Tide Gulper to Twilight's Mana zone, leaving the unicorn with no way to defend herself properly. Continue her turn, Applejack drew another card then started to attack with her Bronze-Arm Sabertooth, causing the feral feline beast kin to rush forward. And cutting through Twilight's two shields, leaving her wide open for the Spirit Totem. Applejack tapped her nature creatures card, causing a barrage of roots to erupt from the ground, striking Twilight in the chest to end the game! The table cleared itself of all creatures, and on its surface it displayed ‘Applejack is the winner!’ in flashing lights. The small crowed was split in two. Half cheered for Applejack’s victory, while the other half was moaning and groaning that Twilight lost. But for the two friends, they put their decks away, and shook each other’s offered hoof. "How about that Twi, my BORING nature deck bested you're calculated water deck." the farmer said with a air triumph, which caused a small sigh that was more good-natured rather than disappointment. "I'll admit, I thought I had you on the ropes there...if only you didn't get that Root Trap." the farmer chortled as the two mares shook hooves in the spirit of good sportsponyship. "So, no hard feelings about earlier?" the farmer nodded. "Yeah, no hard feelings Twi. Same with me and calling ye deck a waste of space?" the unicorn nodded in agreement. After giving each other a well-deserved good game hoof shake, the two mares stomachs growled, causing them to blush slightly…as they remembered not finishing their lunch. The two ponies then left the Battle Shop, thanking the clerk for the use of a table, and the crowed of ponies watching them and cheering them on, the unicorn and earth pony made their way back to the Prancing Filly. Hopefully, the waiter isn’t miffed of them leaving their food on the mushroom table, or not leaving a tip.
