Sunlight, Sunset, Clemont and Bonnie didn’t lost their time and after 2 days of walk, they finally made it to Anistar city. On the way, Sunset’s Kadabra finally evolved into an Alakazam. That happened when her and another trainer, who happened to also own a Kadabra, and revealed her that the only way to have their pokemons evolve both into Alakazam was to make a Pokemon trade. (They did the trade, and right after, another one, to get back their respective pokemons). Now, the group was heading to the city Battle Gym to challenge Olympia for the 7th badge.
“Are you ready, Sunset?” asked Sunlight.
“I think i am, she answered. I have in my team 3 fully evolved pokemons able to Mega-Evolve...”
“Who will challenge her first? Asked Sunlight. Me or you?”
“Go first, she said. I will be watching you.”
The group entered in the arena and were amazed by the beauty of the place. They saw in front of them a woman, wearing an elegant robe.
“I was waiting for your arrival, said the woman. Welcome to the Anistar Gym! I am Olympia, the actual Gym Leader.”
“You...were waiting us, asked Sunset. Are you a Psychic?”
“Yes, Sunset Shimmer, she answered. You are also one as well. Only difference is i can see the future of someone while you can see the past of someone.”
“Is that true?” asked Sunlight.
“Yes, answered Clemont. She is the one who predicted the events that almost destroyed Kalos a few years ago...Her visions never lie.”
“I am happy to see you two again” said Olympia.
“Same for us!” said Bonnie.
“Alright, the presentations are done, said Sunlight. Now, let’s battle!”
“Have you decided who will go first yet?” asked Bonnie.
“That won’t be necessary, answered Olympia. I will challenge both of them in a double battle”
“Me and her? Asked Sunlight. Hum, are you sure?”
“I need to verify something, answered the Gym Leader. I want to see how strong is your bond to each other”
Suddenly, Mew left the bag and teleported above Olympia’s head.
“Hello little one” she said.
Mew cuddled against her hand when she was petting him.
“Seeing Mew in person is a very rare honor, she said. And the honor is even greater if he allows you to play with him or consider him as a good friend. You two are definitively quite the lucky bunch. But coming back to the battle, that will be the two of you against me. I will use only two pokemons, and you will use only one each.”
“I already know who will battle, said Sunlight. And you, Sunset?”
“I think yes, she answered. Let’s do this!!”
The duo walked into the arena battle zone. The referee gave the start signal after re-explaining the rules. Sunlight was the first to send his pokemon.
“Hum, I chose you, Charizard!!” he said.
“And me, i chose you, Gardevoir!!” said Sunset.
“Slowbro and Slowking, i chose you!” said Olympia.
“That’s new, said Clemont. But i expected her to upgrade her deck of pokemon soon or later”
Sunlight looked at Sunset.
“Just trust your instincts, he said. We will only beat her if we do this together.”
“If you say so, she said. But tell me you have a plan right now?”
“I don’t” he answered.
“What?! Said his sister. You are kidding, right? Right!?”
“No, he said. But you know way more than me on Psychic type pokemons, sis. If there is one person able to make us win, it’s you. I believe in you...”
Sunset felt her heart filled with determination and confidence after hearing these words.
“And i won’t deceive you!! She said. Let’s do this!!”
“Charizard, Let’s do this!!” said Sunlight, about to activate Charizard Mega-Evolution.
Sunset looked at him then at her Pokemon.
“Gardevoir!! You waited for this!! She said. And the moment finally arrived!! Are you ready!?”
For answer, the Pokemon made an affirmative head sign. Sunset and Sunlight looked at each other with a smile.
“Mega-Evolve!!” said both of them at the same while activating their Keystones.
Their pokemons Mega-evolved, under the amazed looks of Clemont, Bonnie and Olympia.
“I knew you would use the Mega-Evolution, said the Gym Leader. But don’t think that will be an easy victory for you...”
Olympia revealed her Keystone, hidden in her sleeve.
“This is...!” said Bonnie
“...A Keystone, said Clemont. That mean....”
“Slowbro, Mega-Evolve!!” said Olympia.
Slowbro mega-evolved and revealed his new form.
“Alright, said Sunlight. Charizard, use Dragon Claws!!”
“Gardevoir, use Moonblast!!”
Olympia smiled.
“Slowbro, use Amnesia!! Slowking, use Psychic!! She said.
Slowking immobilized the two pokemons with his attack to then project them away.
“Gardevoir!! Said Sunset. Use Shadow Ball on Slowking!”
Gardevoir threw a ball of shadow energy on the Pokemon. Only for it to be blocked by Mega-Slowbro without any problem.
“Charizard, use Thunder Punch!!” said Sunlight
Charizard charged his fist with electricity and flew to Slowbro.
“Slowbro, use Protect!! Said Olympia. Slowking, use Hydropump!!”
Slowbro blocked the attack and Slowking then projected a huge blast of water at Charizard and sent him away.
“She have a solid defense, said Sunset. They countered each of our moves...What are we going to do, brother?”
“I...don’t know” he answered.
“Slowking, use Ice Beam on Charizard!! Slowbro, use Iron Tail on Gardevoir!” said Olympia
Slowking projected a beam of ice at Charizard while Slowbro swirled in direction of Gardevoir, his tail glowing silver.
“Charizard, use Flamethrower!!” said Sunlight.
“Gardevoir, use Attract!!” said Sunset.
The flame blast countered the ice beam while Slowbro stopped attacking, infatuated.
“Gardevoir, use Shadow Ball!!” she said.
Slowbro got stroke by the attack but took it without moving.
“Charizard, use Flamethrower on Slowking!!” said Sunlight.
“Counter it with Hydro Pump!!” said Olympia.
The water stream collided with the fire stream and covered the arena in a mist. Sunset had an idea.
“Gardevoir!! Use Thunderbolt!!” said Sunset.
Gardevoir summoned a bolt of lightning that stroked Slowbro, Slowking and Charizard(The mist conducted the electricity on all the pokemons). Mega Slowbro and Mega-Charizard X took it without problem but Slowking had been severely hurt.
“Charizard, use Thunder Punch!!” said Sunlight.
Charizard was about to stroke Slowking with his fist..
“Use Psychic!!” said Olympia
Slowking was about to attack, but he stopped suddenly and fell on the ground. Charizard hit him with all his power and sent the Pokemon away.
“Thunderbolt must have paralyzed Slowking, said Clemont. Sunlight and Sunset have to take advantage of that...”
“Gardevoir, achieve Slowking with Shadow Ball!!” shouted Sunset.
The attack stroke Slowking and put him K.O.
“Now, we can focus on Mega-Slowbro!!” said Sunlight.
“Impressive, said Olympia, But that’s not enough!! What?!”
Gardevoir was on the back of Charizard.
“Times to finish this!!” said Sunlight.
“With pleasure!!” said Sunset.
“Charizard, Use Dragon Claws!!” said the hero.
“Gardevoir, Use Thunderbolt!!” said his sister
The two Pokemons united their attacks and stroke Slowbro with all their power. A cloud of smoke followed and soon disappeared, revealing that Slowbro was K.O.
“Slowbro and Slowking have been defeated, said the Referee. The victory goes to the Challengers, Sunlight Blaze and Sunset Shimmer!!”
Olympia smiled, and called back her pokemons.
“Well played, you two, she said. You defeated me fair and square. There is your badges, you earned them...”
She gave to both of them the Psychic Badge,
“You have only one Gym Leader left to defeat, Wulfric. His arena is situated at Snowbell City. I prevent you, it’s a bit cold right there.”
“What was the vision you had of my future” asked Sunlight.
“I saw you facing against the incarnation of madness, she answered. A madman that came back from the grave to take his revenge. I also saw that an unexpected ally would join you in this battle.”
Sunlight knew she was refering to Lysandre with these words.
“Now, leave, she said. And one last thing i have to told you before you go, Sunset.”
“Yes?” asked Sunset.
“You will have a big part to play in the events i foresaw, she answered. And you’ll make another friend on your way to the League.”
“Uh, thank you!!” she said.
The group left the arena and went to the Pokemon Center.
“Well, that was a smart move to use Thunderbolt during the battle” said Sunlight.
“Really? Answered Sunset. But i could have paralyzed your pokemon and also mine”
“Sure, said the hero. But sometimes, you have to take risks to win. And that risk paid in our battle. But i can’t stop thinking Olympia let us win...”
“Why would she do that? Asked Clemont. I can say however say that luck played a huge part in your victory...”
“Yeah, you may be right, said Sunset. That mean we still have to get better...”
“What are we waiting for, said Sunlight. Let’s go!! Snowbelle City, we are coming for you!!”
