//------------------------------// // Game 8-Crazy Climber // Story: EqG Tales: Arcade Edition // by Brian Sheil //------------------------------// Rolling Thunder and Short Fuse wearing dark blue long sleeve shirts, gray track pants and sneakers are holding microphones in their hands. “Hello, adrenaline fans!” Rolling Thunder announced. “It’s time once again for ‘The Extreme Stunts Show’.” “With your host,” Short Fuse continued, “Lightning Dust!” The scene turns to the reckless Lightning Dust standing next to a tall building. She wears a lime green track jacket over a black shirt, blue 3/4 jogger pants and white sneakers. She carries a helmet and a pair of sturdy gloves. “What’s up, fellow extreme sport fans?” Lightning Dust said to the camera. “Today, I’m going to show you how to be a true Crazy Climber. For this, you’ll need three items.” She points to the building. “One, a tall building.” She points to herself. “Two, a brave volunteer, like me.” Lightning then presents her helmet and gloves. “And three, safety gear. Even someone like me need to be prepared. Then, all you have to do is climb to the top, climb into the waiting helicopter, and your task is completed.” Rolling Thunder and Short Fuse watch with excitement and fear as Lightning starts to climb. “Then, there’s always various obstacles to overcome.” Lightning explained as she climbs the building. “Like falling debris,” Lightning scoots to the side as various objects fall down. “giant signs,” She moves to the other side as a big sign bounces down. “and some that are stationary. Like those active wires.” Carefully, Lightning avoids the wires. Her two companions below felt relief. “Despite obstacles like that,” Lightning continued, “you must be careful as the climb becomes more hazardous as you climb higher.” A mean looking man with black curly hair popped out holding a flower pot. “Which brings up the problem of angry tenants who don’t like building climbers.” The man dropped the flower pot. Lightning avoided the pot. But, it struck Rolling Thunder on the head. “And, I thought it’s dangerous up there.” Short Fuse said as he pointed up. “You can say that again, mate.” Rolling Thunder replied as he rubbed his head. Back to the building, Lightning sees a giant white bird as her lecture continues. “Sometimes, a giant bird may come along, and drop eggs and droppings to knock you down.” The bird drops a lot of bird droppings. Lightning moves to the side, and avoids the droppings. But, the mess hits the man who tried to bonk the reckless girl earlier. “Yuck!” “And also, there’s a giant gorilla waving a ball around, trying to hit you hard.” Lightning Dust continued. “But, with good timing, you can avoid being whacked by that overgrown monkey.” Lightning avoided the gorilla. About five minutes later, after reaching the top, she grabbed a rope that was dangling over her, and she was pulled into an awaiting blue helicopter. Lightning climbed in to give a last statement. “And, there you have it!” The helicopter soon went away from the building, and slowly descended. Later, she was back with her two companions. “Congratulations, Lightning Dust.” Rolling Thunder praised. “You did a real impossible stunt. Do you think anybody would have comments?” “I’m sure about that.” Lightning replied. “In fact, three special people just contacted me, and gave me their opinion about what I did today.” “Really?” Short Fuse said with confusion. “Who are they?” Lightning Dust gave a proud answer. “Principal Celestia, Vice Principal Luna, and the leader of the soccer team at CHS, Spitfire.” She holds up a big piece of forest green paper with the words ‘THE END’ written with yellow paint. Lightning then speaks with a sad tone. “They forced me to promise not to do another crazy stunt.”
