//------------------------------// // Ch.1: The Three Girls // Story: The Loneliest Star // by Blueelectric //------------------------------// Lucky stared up in terror at the fluffy girl above her. Did she just seen this girl and her friends turn into monsters a couple a minutes ago? What made her want to trust them now? She torn her gaze from the yellow girl to find the purple one and blue one ran back to them. The one the yellow girl called, "Sonata." was carrying some bush clippers. The purple girl was watching her with an uninterested look in her face. "I found the thing you been looking for, Adagio." Sonata said as she hand her the cutters. "Adagio" thanked the blue girl. She walked up towards Lucky and broke a branch from her stuck leg. Lucky, not liking it at all, try to struggle away from her. Adagio paused from the cutting for a bit and study the frightened girl. She beckoned the blue girl forward. "Sonata, would you please calm this little girl down?" Sonata nodded and crouched towards Lucky's level. She grabbed her hand and gave her a friendly look, which confused the white skinned girl. "Don't worry, kid. Were gonna get you out of this bush." She promised. She glanced away with guilt. "It's the least we can do for causing you to end up like this." Sonata look back at the girl in the bush. "So, you got a name?" She asked. Lucky grabbed her arm as she felt the thorns pulled away from her leg. "Lucky." She mumbled under her breath. The purple skinned girl walked up with a curious glint in her eyes. "Lucky, huh? Bet your not so lucky now." Sonata glared at her friend. "Aria! We caused her to be in this situation in the first place. Please have a little sympathy." Aria just scowled. "Why are we helping her in the first place? Shouldn't her parents helped her or maybe her older sibling?" The blue skinned girl was about to snap a remark back, when she paused with her mouth gaped opened. She closed it and tilted her head. "You know? Maybe you had a point." She turn her attention back to Lucky. "So, Lucky. Where are your parents? Did you came here with your older brother or sister?" The seven year old shook her head. "I don't have a sister or a brother." She said quietly. Sonata nodded her head, understanding. "Oh, so you came here with your parents!" Lucky shook her head again. Aria's eyes widened. "So they let you wander out here by yourself?! What kind of parents let you do that? Do they even know what kind of danger a little girl could gotten into this late at night alone?" Lucky cowered away from her shouting as Adagio freed the rest of her from the rest of the brambles. Lucky finally got up and stared to walk away. But her hurt legs won't let her get that far and she collapsed. Adagio and Sonata rushed forward and crouched down to examined her legs. Lucky look at her own legs as well. She whimpered as saw that she was bleeding. "She's bleeding a lot. But her cuts aren't that deep." Adagio said as she gave the legs another look. Her eyes widened as she gave lucky a closer look. "And she's filthy. She looks like she haven't have a bath in years." She look at the others in determination. "Were taking her home with us." Sonata cheered and picked Lucky up. She was suddenly surprised to find that she can easily carry her and almost dropped her in shock. "Adagio! She's as light as a feather!" They walked away leaving a dumbfounded Aria behind. "We're not keeping her are we?" ****** "Of course we're not keeping her." Adagio said as she opened the door to their small house. "She's staying with us until we can find her parents." She turn the lights on and closed the door behind them. Sonata put Lucky on the couch, who found a nearby blanket to cover herself with. Adagio chuckled in amusement as she went towards the bathroom. Aria just grunted and went into her room and shut the door. Lucky stayed under the blanket, just waiting for one of the girls to do something to her. She flinched as she felt a finger tapped her head. "Hey there partner. Why don't you come out and talk?" Said the chirpy voice of Sonata. Lucky hesitated. She saw what these girls did to those people and they finally nice just for her? That is not her way of normal. She peaked out a little from the blankets. She saw the friendly gaze of the blue girl. She can only asked one question. "Why?" Sonata tilted her head. "What was that?" Lucky took a breath and tried again. "Why are you helping me?" The blue girl just shrugged. "Just better nature, I guess." Lucky slowly pulled the blanket from her face, slowly warming up to her. "But I saw you turn into those monsters." Sonata went quite for a moment. "You saw that?" Lucky nodded. Sonata smiled and ruffled her hair making the girl shy away little. "Oh, that? My friends and I were just putting on a magic show. That's all." She said. "But you were singing." Lucky pointed out. Sonata chuckled. "It's a special kind of magic show. The one were we sing. We were having a contest with the other singing magicians, but as you can tell they beat us." "You promised?" Lucky asked Sonata smiled and gave her a hug. "I promised. It's just a magic show, nothing more." She stand up and picked her up. "Now, come on. I think Adagio is finishing up fixing your bath." Sonata said. "What's a bath?" Lucky asked. That question made Sonata paused. "You don't know what a bath is?! When we find your parents, they're gonna have a piece of my mind!" Adagio opened the door to the bathroom. She spotted Sonata and beckoned them in. Lucky's purple eyes grew huge as she gazed at the tub full of water. Sonata sat her down on the toilet and whispered something into Adagio's ear. The fluffy haired girl eyes widened in shock as Sonata walked out and closed the door behind her, leaving the two alone. Adagio walked over to her and helped Lucky take off her torn up dress. Lucky shivered when she found herself bare skinned. Adagio picked her up and gently lowered her into the tub. The seven year old gasped as the warm water touched her skin, but gently relaxed as she find it enjoyable. Adagio grabbed a sponge and sat on the rim as she dipped the sponge in the water and gently scrubbed Lucky off. Adagio was surprised as the dirt and grime rubbed off her skin to revel a pristine white little girl underneath. She thought she was staring at a brown skinned girl at first. "Your surprisingly calm for someone who hasn't had a bath before." Adagio commented. Lucky gave her a confused look. "Why wouldn't I be? It's not hurting me." She winced as Adagio gently scrubbed her cuts on her leg. "And those are cuts. They supposed to hurt when you touch them." Adagio smiled a little. "I suppose that is true." She got Lucky out of the tub and dried her off. She went into the medicine cabinet and got out some disinfecting ointment and some bandages. Sonata opened the door and gave Adagio an old shirt Lucky can where as a night gown which the girl gratefully put on. Adagio motioned her to sat back on the toilet as she dressed her wounds. Lucky winced but didn't put up a fight. She smiled as she moved her legs, feeling a bit better. Adagio held her hand for her to hold and led her out the bathroom. Adagio paused in surprised as three boxes a pizzas lying on the coffee table. "Who bought those?" Adagio asked. Sonata shrugged as she got down some plates. "I've have no clue. Some pizza guy came over and told us it was already paid for and it wasn't me." Aria walked out of her room eyeing the pizzas curiously. "It wasn't me either." Her eyes widened with surprise as she took a look at Lucky. "You mean that brown color wasn't even her skin?" Adagio nodded as she watched Lucky hopped back on the couch. Sonata went over and opened a box a pizza to place a slice on a plate. She offered it to Lucky who took it gratefully. "Who cares. She is now beautiful." ***** Outside their window, a blue eyed stranger watched smiling. She turned and walked away, her red and gold hair glint in the moonlight.
