Turquoise was relaxing on the ferry that was heading for the Seafoam Islands after two whole days of walking. While she was relaxing an announcement played over the intercom.

“ Attention passengers we are arriving on Chrysanthemum Island,” The announcement said. As soon as the ferry docked all the passengers left to explore the Island. As soon as Turquoise got off a woman with short salmon-colored hair wearing a yellow top and orange skirt was waiting for her.

“ Are you Turquoise?” The woman asked.

“ I am,” Turquoise said.

“ I’m Brianna and I’m the one who sent you the note,” Brianna said.

“ So you did. You mentioned that whoever wins earns the right to enter the Grand Festival? So does that mean you already have four ribbons?” Turquoise asked.

“ I sure do but don't think you can beat me so easily,” Brianna said.

“ I’m looking forward to it,” Turquoise said before leaving for the Pokemon Center. As she was walking she heard the people she passed by talking about how they were looking forward to seeing Brianna win this contest. As soon as she arrived at the Pokemon center Turquoise decided to call Professor Oak to enlist two pokemon she hasn’t used for a while. After ringing a few times Professor Oak appeared on the screen.

“ Always good to see you Turquoise. Where are you calling from?” Professor Oak asked.

“ I’m on Chrysanthemum Island right now,” Turquoise said.

“ Ah, good old Chrysanthemum Island with its sunny weather and lovely beaches. That sure takes me back to my traveling days. But enough about my journey, tell me what are you calling for?” Professor Oak asked.

“ I would like you to send me my Vibrava and Espeon,” Turquoise said.

“ Good choices they sure missed you a lot. So who will you be sending over for them?” Professor Oak asked.

“ My Milotic and Drakloak,” Turquoise said.

“ I will go get them,” Professor Oak said. A bit later Professor Oak set things up on his end and after making the exchange Turquoise went off to the beach to train with her old friends.

“ Espeon and Vibrava come on out,” Turquoise said as she threw her two Pokeballs which unleashed them both. After seeing Turquoise they both tackled her lovingly while rubbing up against her. “ I missed you guys too and it's time for some catch-up training since we have a couple of days before the contest. Turquoise and her pokemon spent hours training and Vibrava suddenly began to glow. Turquoise knew this meant that Vibrava was evolving. Vibrava began to change shape as he grew bigger. As soon as the flash died down a Flygon hovered where Vibrava once was. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex to learn more about her new Flygon.

“ Flygon. The Mystic Pokemon and the evolved form of Vibrava. It is nicknamed the Desert Spirit because the flapping of its wings sounds like a woman singing,” The Pokedex said. 

“ And you learned some new moves too,” Turquoise said.

“ Congrats on your Vibrava evolving,” A girl with poofy pink hair and blue eyes wearing a pink top with a blue ruffle skirt said while a small blue gator-like pokemon danced around.

“ Thanks,” Turquoise said.

“ I’m Pinkie by the way and this is my partner Totodile,” Pinkie said before Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex.

“ Totodile. The Big Jaw Pokemon. Its powerful, well-developed jaws are capable of crushing anything. Even its Trainer must be careful,” The Pokedex said.

“ So what are you training for?” Pinkie asked.

“ The upcoming Pokemon Contest,” Turquoise said.

“ Neat, My friend Rarity is into contests too,” Pinkie said.

“ You know Rarity? So do I,” Turquoise said.

“ No way you met her already?” Pinkie asked in shock.

“ Along with her friends Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash,” Turquoise said.

“ Any idea where they are now?” Pinkie asked.

“ They must have left Saffron City by now. I don't know where they are going now but what I do know is that me, Twilight, and Rainbow made a promise to meet again in Viridian City after we each earned our seventh Gym Badges,” Turquoise said.

“ You are doing Gym Battles too? Aren’t you doing too much at once?” Pinkie asked.

“ Not at all I love contests but at the same time I want my pokemon to grow stronger and the best way to do that is to face strong opponents,” Turquoise said. After noticing the sun going down Turquoise and Pinkie decided to call it a night.





The day of the contest arrived and Turquoise was feeling both Nervous and Excited or Nervouscited as Pinkie put it. As soon as the other coordinators came backstage Lilian appeared on the tv in the waiting area.

“ Greeting everyone from the always sunny Chrysanthemum Island. I am your always energetic MC Lilian here to see who gets the Chrysanthemum Ribbon. And Now let’s introduce the judges. First up is the head of the Pokemon Activities Committee Mr. Contesta,” Lilian said as she pointed to Contesta.

“ A pleasure to be back here on this bright sunny day Lilian,” Contesta said.

“ Next up is the head of the Pokemon Fan Club Mr. Sukizo,” Lilian said while pointing to Sukizo.

“ Remarkable,” Sukizo said.

“ And finally Chrysanthemum Island’s own Nurse Joy,” Lilian said while pointing to Nurse Joy.

“ I can’t wait to see what our coordinators have in store for us on this bright day,” Nurse Joy said.

“ And now without further ado LET’S GET BUSY,” Lilian said. The many coordinators performed one by one with amazing performances until it was Briana’s turn. “ And now taking the stage is Briana.

“ Masquerain come on out,” Briana said as she threw a Pokeball that popped open and unleashed a bunch of bubbles with an insect-like pokemon in the center of them. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.

“ Masquerain. The Eyeball Pokemon. Its antennae have eye patterns on them. Its four wings enable it to hover and fly in any direction,” The Pokedex said.

“ Masquerain use Silver Wind while spinning. Masquerain began spinning in place before encasing itself in a silver tornado. “ Now use Water Sport. Masquerain then covered itself in a bubble before it burst and added some sparkle to the Silver Wind tornado.

“ And Masquerain sparkles from inside the Silver Wind Tornado,” Lilian said before the tornado exploded leaving Masquerain with a shining coat that glistened from the sun’s rays.

“ A great way to show off Masquerain’s beauty,” Contesta said.

“ Remarkable,” Sukizo said.

“ That takes me back to seeing another coordinator’s performance many years ago,” Nurse Joy said.  After Briana returned backstage it was Turquoise’s turn.

“ Ninetails let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said as she threw her Pokeball which popped open and unleashed a bunch of orange flames that encircled Ninetails before she landed elegantly on the stage. “ Let’s start with Flamethrower. Ninetails unleashed her flamethrower in a straight line. “ Now use Extrasensory on the Flamethrower. Ninetails used her Extrasensory to turn the stream of fire into a bunch of rings before leaping through them while spinning. “ Now finish with Fire Blast while spinning. Ninetails unleashed her Fire Blast while leaping back through the rings of fire and managed to absorb all the flames into her coat which caused her to glow brightly.

“ And Turquoise finishes with a glowing Ninetails,” Lilian said.

“ A very unique way to combine two of the strongest fire-type attacks a Fire-type pokemon can use,” Contesta said.

“ Very Remarkable,” Sukizo said.

“ Not to mention how Ninetails looks like the mythical kitsune its lore is based on,” Nurse Joy said. The rest of the Coordinators went on one after the other and after the last performance concluded The judges took some time to discuss who will be moving on to the second round.

“ That was amazing,” Briana said.

“ Your performance was pretty good too,” Turquoise said. After a few minutes, Lilian appeared on the screen.

“ Sorry for the wait everyone. So without further ado here are the eight coordinators who will be moving on to the second round,” Lilian said as the eight trainers appeared on screen with Turquoise taking first and Briana taking third. The profile pics were shuffled and the matchups were set. Both Turquoise and Brianna thought their way through the other trainers until it was the two of them. “ And now we are down to the last two coordinators. On my left is Brianna and on my right is Turquoise. Time to see who will win the ribbon. Five minutes on the clock go.

“ Flygon come on out,” Briana said as she threw her Pokeball which popped open and unleashed a bunch of stars before Flygon appeared out of them.

“ Espeon let's dazzle them,” Turquoise said before throwing her Pokeball which popped open and unleashed a bunch of black smoke which Espeon appeared out of.

“ Flygon use Dragon Breath. Flygon unleashed a breath of blue fire at Espeon.
“ Espeon use Psychic to send it back. Espeon’s eyes glowed blue as she managed to send the Dragon Breath back at Flygon.

“ Flygon use Flamethrower. Flygon unleashed a stream of fire that collided with the reflected Dragon Breath which was sent back at Espeon and dealt a lot of damage.

“ And Flygon manages to send the attack right back costing Turquoise a lot of points,” Lilian said as Turquoise’s point meter went down by forty percent.

Turquoise: 60%

“ Not bad but it's nothing we can’t bounce back from. Espeon use Morning Sun. Espeon was bathed in sunlight as her heath returned to full power thanks to the strong sunlight already in the arena.

“ Like that will work. Flygon use Flamethrower again. Flygon unleashed another Flamethrower but this time Turquoise was prepared for it.

“ Espeon use Swift while spinning. Espeon unleashed a tornado of stars that created a vacuum and snuffed out the Flamethrower while also dealing some damage to Flygon. Every time Flygon tried to break free the swift could strike back.

“ And Espeon managed to not only stop Flamethrower in its tracks it also trapped Flygon in a Swift tornado,” Lilian said as Briana’s points went down by fifty percent.

Briana: 50%

“ Not bad you even managed to trap my Flygon but not for long. Flygon use Supersonic. Flygon flapped its wings hard which not only created a soundwave powerful enough to break free from the swift tornado but also attempted to confuse Espeon which failed and caused Flygon to get confused which cost both sides points with three minutes left on the clock.

Turquoise: 50%

Briana: 40%

“ Why is my Flygon confused instead of your Espeon?” Briana asked.

“ It's thanks to Espeon’s Magic Bounce ability which sends all non-damaging attacks back to the pokemon that launched them,” Turquoise said. “ Espeon use Psybeam. Espeon unleashed her Psybeam and managed to deal enough damage to knock Flygon out which caused the judges to hit their buzzers.

“ And that's it folks the winner of the Chrysanthemum Ribbon is Turquoise,” Lilian said as the crowd went wild.

“ Flygon you were great,” Briana said before recalling it. Everyone gathered for the award ceremony and Lilian took the mic.

“ And now Mr. Contesta will award Turquoise with the Chrysanthemum Ribbon,” Lilian said as Contesta approached Turquoise.

“ I Believe this is your fifth ribbon. We look forward to seeing you at the Grand Festival at the Indigo Plateau in two months,” Contesta said before giving Turquoise her ribbon. Sometime later Turquoise decided to call the others to tell them about her victory. After a few rings Rarity appeared on the screen.

“ Turquoise darling it's good to hear from you,” Rarity said.

“ Guess who won her fifth ribbon,” Turquoise said.

“ You did that's great news,” Rarity said.

“ Where are you guys now?” Turquoise asked.

“ Twilight, Applejack and I are in Sapphire City for the Sapphire City Contest. As for Rainbow, we don't know where she went,” Rarity said.

“ In any case, I must be going since I have a boat to catch. Good luck on the contest,” Turquoise said before hanging up. After hanging up and reclaiming her pokemon Turquoise left for the port to catch the ferry for the Seafoam Islands. After boarding the ferry Turquoise looked forward to where her adventure takes her next.
