Learning of the Prophecy of the Two Sisters

Learning of the Prophecy of the Two Sisters

As Twilight walks over to her home towards the tower near the Canterlot Castle with a saddle bag on her back before she finds herself intercepted by three unicorns.

"There you are Twilight!" Twinkleshine, the white unicorn with a curly pink mane and tail, bright blue eyes, her cutie mark was three blue stars called outwith two ponies by her side, Lemon Hearts, a pony with bright yellow fur, with a blue mane, red-violet eyes, and two light blue hearts and one light green for her cutie mark, and Minuette, a pony with blue fur, a dark and light blue mane and tail, with blue eyes, and an hourglass cutie mark. "Moondancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come with us?"

"Oh, sorry girls." Twilight quickly said as she recoiled a bit. " I've got a lot of studying to catch up on!" She said as she gave a forced grin before passing by them and galloped off ahead leaving the three mares sighing in disappointment.

"Does that pony do anything except study?" Twinkleshine asked somehwhat irritated by her refusal to join them. “I think she's more interested in books than friends." She then said as they went on their way.

“I know I heard of the Elements before.” Twilight said to herself as she tries to put her mind and hoof on it as she gallops ahead to the tower ahead of her before running up the stairs before bursting inside as Spike, a young and small dragon with purple skin, green scales and green eyes, carrying a present approaches the door and gets sent flying backwards.

"Spike! SPIIIIKE!" Twilight spoke as she emerged from the doorway. "Spike?" She called out to him as his eyes were still spinning. "Spike, there you are." Twilight said as she gallops past as he clears his head. "Quick Spike, find me that old copy of Predictions and Prophecies." Twilight instructed him before noticing the present impaled on the woozy dragon’s tail. "What's that for?"

"Well it was a gift for Moondancer but..." Spike said as he pulled off the box, dumping a busted teddy bear that squeaked as it hit the floor in the process.

"Oh, Spike." Twilight said not interested in her party as she begins knocking books off a stack with her head and magic. "You know we don't have time for that sort of silly thing."

"But we're on a break." Spike protested to the unicorn as she is more focused on finding a certain book.

"No, no, no... no, no, no!” She grunted in frustration as she pulls aside multiple books. “Spike!”

“It's over here!” Spike called out from the top of a ladder of a different bookshelf with the book she is looking for as she pulls him and the book over with her magic.

“Ah! Elements, Elements, E, E, E... Aha! Elements of Harmony, see: Mare in the Moon?” Twilight said as she examined the book for a specific page.

“Mare in the Moon? But that's just an old ponies' tale.” Spike questioned as he climbed a ladder to put away the books Twilight pulled aside from their shelves.

“Mare, mare... aha! The Mare in the Moon, myth from olden pony times.” Twilight said as she skimmed through the pages to a specific page of an image of Nightmare’s face on a moon in the night sky. “From olden pony times, A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!” She then gasped as she turned to Spike. “Spike! Do you know what this means?”

"But I believe it will happen." Twilight said as she made her way to another table, collecting a scroll with her magic and a quill in her mouth. She then gives it to Spike.

“No.” Spike honestly replied as he lost his balance, fell from the ladder and dropped down before being caught by Twilight who hands her a scroll and quill pen.

"Take a note please, to the Princess." Twilight said to him.

"Okey-dokey." Spike obliged as he begins writing after jumping off of Twilight’s back as she begins to speak aloud while pacing.

"My dearest teacher." Twilight began. "My continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster."

“Hold on..." Spike interrupted as he is trying to figure out how to spell precipice. "Precp... no... Preci... um..."

"Threshold." Twilight gave him an easier word to use.

"Uhhh..." Spike could only reply as he still doesn’t know how to spell that word either.

"Um…Brink?” Twilight tried again as Spike’s mind is still blank. “That something really bad is about to happen!” Spike finally getting that writes it down as Twilight continues speaking. "For you see, the mythical Mare in the Moon is in fact Nightmare Moon, and she may return to Equestria to bring about her eternal night. Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle."

"Twilight Sparkle..." Spike said as he finished writing. "Got it!"

"Great! Send it." Twilight said.

"Now?" Spike asked a little surprised by this request.

"Of course, Now!" Twilight seriously said.

"Uh, I don't know Twilight." Spike replied unsure about doing so. "Princess Celestia's a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow."

"That's just it, Spike!" Twilight asserted her stance. "Tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration. It's imperative that the Princess is told right away!"

"Impera... impera...?" Spike again asked as he found trouble spelling another word for the third time.

"Important." Twilight again gave him another easy word as he quickly writes it down before taking a deep breath as he holds the rolled parchment in front of his mouth and then blows green fire over it. The message burns away, but begins to spark and fly outwards, leaving only a tendril of sparkling pink smoke that flies out the window.

“There it’s on it’s way.” Spike replied as he raises a warning finger with a matching tone.

"Oh, I'm not worried Spike." Twilight said undeterred. "The Princess trusts me completely. In all the years she's been my mentor, she's never once doubted me."

Spike still uncertain with crossed arms immediately finds his cheeks bulging as he belches up a burst of green fire that forms into a sealed scroll, which drops to the ground.

“See.” Twilight confidently said as Spike picked up the scroll and began reading it. “I knew the princess would take immediate action."

“My dearest, most faithful student Twilight... You know that I value your diligence and I trust you completely…” Twilight felt pleased to hear it as she looks out the window. “…but you simply must stop reading those dusty old books.”

Twilight gasped upon hearing that.

“Is she serious?” Twilight thought to herself in shock. “Does she not realize the fate of Equestria is at stake?”

“There is more to a young pony's life than just studying. So I've decided to send you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location, Ponyville.” Spike continued reading word for word. “And I have an even more essential task for you to complete... make some friends."
