Ticket Please?

Ticket Please?

Rainbow Dash snapped her eyes open and immediately threw off her covers, her alarm clock provoking her to hurry. It was a very special night. Dash's favorite band was coming to town the following night, Flying Leaf. Flying Leaf was one of the best rock bands in all of Equestria. Everypony was talking about going to see them, so the chance of getting a ticket could be highly slim. It'll pretty much be like the chance of getting a cider during cider season when everypony is excited to get a mug.
"See you later, Tank." Dash quickly said as she zoomed out the door. Tank just layed there on the ground asleep.
She hurried out of Cloudsdale and dove down to Ponyville, she gasped and stopped in her tracks. It would be horrible if she woke eager fans, then they could try to get tickets! Rainbow hurried through town to get to the auditorium to finally get a ticket.
"Noooo!" She screamed. Her worst nightmare unfortunately came true, there was the longest line to the auditorium. It started at the ticket booth and made it's way in a shaky line through Ponyville. Dash felt lightheaded, she was forced to shake off the feeling before leaving. She couldn't bear to think of the show going on without her there. The show was going to be indoors instead of outside so couldn't just simply rest on a cloud or hover over the performance while it was going. Dash wouldn't get to hear the rocking beats or hear Night Screamer's singing and screaming.
"Hello there, Rainbow Dash." Fluttershy's sof voice almost came out of nowhere. Rainbow Dash wanted to scream at the sight she saw next, Fluttershy was holding a ticket. Only one. Dash gulped her dispair down and slapped a fake smile onto her face.
"Hi, Fluttershy." She replied. "I see you... you bought ticket." She tried to keep her voice casual. The yellow pegasus nodded and smiled.
"Oh, yes, I did. I'm a big fan of Flying Leaf. I heard that Night Screamer's going to have a Meet-n-Greet tonight after the show. Oh my goodness, Rainbow, I'm so excited. Did you get your ticket yet?" Her smile turned into a frown when she spotted Rainbow's empty hooves.
"Um... I asked somepony else to get a ticket for me, I--I told them I was going to pay them back later on." Dash lied.
"Oh, okay then." Fluttershy said. "Well, tell your friend to hurry. The tickets are going fast," She said flying off. Rainbow Dash made sure Fluttershy was at a safe distance before zipping down to a garbage can in the middle of an alley. She lifted the lid off and made sure her face was halfway inside before letting out a screech of extreme disappointment and self loathe.
When she stopped, she was in no hurry to pull her face out of the can. She slammed the lid on and gagged, she maybe shouldn've checked to see if the trash can had trash in it or not. Not to mention she was unlucky and her muzzle met the smell of the modly food inside.
Dash folded her wings and walked out of the alley. She'd happen to spot Sugarcub Corner. Her tummy rumbled in the thought of digging her teeth into a delicous chocolate doughnut. The pegasus grimly walked into the bakery.
"Hello there, Rainbow Dash!" Pinkie Pie shrieked. She seemed more excited than usual today. It was actually obvious why. "Have you gotten your ticket yet!? Huh? Huh? Huh?" She said said, bouncing right in front of Dash.
"Uh, hi Pinkie Pie," The pegasus started. "And er, yeah. A friend's going to get it for me." She once again lied, only wanting to smack herself for lying.
"Who's getting it for you?" Pinkie continued bouncing. "Who? Who? Who? I must know!"
"I-- er.... Dumb-Bell. Dumb-Bell's going to go get it for me while he's getting his." She kept her masked smile on, Pinkie looked confused and stopped bouncing.
"Okie dokie lokie," She said slowly with hints of suspicion.
"Uh... what's the matter, Pinkie Pie?" She said with worry.
"You're sweating," Pinkie replied. She was right, Rainbow Dash WAS sweating. But Pinkie started bouncing again. "Oh! Oh! I know! You were racing Dumb-Bell this morning, were you?"
"Um, y-yeah, let's go with that." She said before taking a seat at a table. "Can I have a doughnut, Pinkie?"
"Coming right up, Dash!" Pinkie said before heading into the kitchen. "You see, Mr. and Mrs. Cake are actually out getting our tickets for the concert tonight."
"Oh, is that true?" Dash said while trying to keep her cool. Her smile turned more realistic when Pinkie brought out the doughnut.
"Thank you so much, Pinkie Pie!" The pegasus said before gobbling down the pastry. When the doughnut was gone, her face turned back to a frown. She quickly caught herself and shifted her mouth back into a smile.
"Hello, Pinkie." The familiar voice and the bell of the bakery rang in unison. Pinkie bounced over to the front door.
"Rarity, Twilight, Applejack, hi!" Pinkie Pie said, while still bouncing in place. She lead the other three in and they each took a seat at the same table Rainbow Dash was at. While they sat down, they said their greetings to the only pegasus.
"Did you get your ticket yet?" Rarity asked. "I myself favor a good rock concert once in a while."
"It's going to be so much fun. It's sold out!" Twilight added. 'SOLD OUT!?' Rainbow Dash wanted to burst into tears after hearing that.
"Also, ah heard da lead singer Night Screamer's goin' to 'ave a Meet-n-Greet after the show." Applejack nodded. Not that Rainbow Dash heard each sentence once.
"Um, the truth is..." Dash gulped. "Somepony else picked up my ticket." She lied, it was like the lies were controlling her this morning.
"That's cool," Twilight said. "Who's going to--". Before Twlight could finish, Rainbow Dash unfolded her wings and took off from her seat, then flew straight out of Sugarcube Corner.
She didn't stop flapping her wings until she reached her home. After flying, she slowly walked with her head hanging low. Tank noticed his owner and had a sympathetic smile. But Rainbow didn't notice her pet, instead, she crawled into her bed and started crying. She wanted to give up, but what would she tell her friends? They were going to be SO mad at her for lying.
"No," Rainbow Dash said. "I AM going to go see that concert... somehow." Then, Rainbow Dash had a smile on her face. And for real.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Where's Rainbow Dash?" Pinkie Pie asked. She and her friends were wearing t-shirts with hearts along with Night Screamer in the middle of the heart. They had their tickets, they just needed to be let inside the auditorium. The line was pretty long, leaving the five friends in the back.
"I don't know, Pinkie." Twilight said. "Perhaps she's late." But Rainbow Dash isn't the one that's usually late. She was in fact two hours late.
"Hello, guys." Rainbow Dash said, hovering over them. Her friends cheered 'hello' back as she lowered herself back down.
"Aren't you EXCITED Rainbow Dash? I am!" Pinkie Pie said as she began bouncing again.
"Uh, yeah, I am. Look, girls," Dash began. "I've got to use the little fillies room, I'll be right back." She said before leaving in a hurry. To her surprise, she didn't use her wings, only used running. Luckily for her, the restrooms were on the other side of the building. When there was nopony around, she opened her wings and flew up the building. She stopped at the eaves and landed. Carefully taking small steps, she made her way to a Pegasus Emergency Escape and lifted the door. She looked down, the auditorium was full. Even her friends were sitting somewhere, but there were no more seats available. Doesn't matter. After the show, Rainbow can simply swoop back down and then get in line to meet Night Screamer and the rest of the band!
The pegasus listened to the band begining 'Kathy'. Rainbow Dash's favorite song!
"I... will say YEEEEEEEEEEES!" Night Screamer let out a scream as she said the last word. After the scream, the music kicked in. It was perfect.
She bobbed her head to the music, until she felt a sharp tap on her shoulder. Dash didn't dare to turn around.
"Miss, you're not permitted here." The deep male voice said from behind. Instead of turning around, Rainbow Dash just flew away. Okay, Plan A equals fail. There wasn't really a Plan B, she was just focusing on how awesome the concert would be. Dash stopped and peeked behind her. Luckily, she wasn't being followed. She was only simply shooed. However, the pegasus stallion who shooed her away was still staring at her, expecting her to leave.
Dash looked down and spotted a figure, the figure was struggling to keep the back doors of the auditorium closed. She was able to hear screaming coming from the building. Dash looked closer and the figure was Night Screamer! The pegasus knew what to do! She dashed back down and stopped next to the singer, who seemed to have seemed more worried.
"It's alright," Dash said. "I'm here to help you!" To her surprise, Night Screamer seemed smaller than her. Smaller for her age. No wonder she wasn't able to hold the doors. Dash held the doors shut with her hooves.
"Screamer," Dash said. "You've gotta get out of here!" Night Screamer stayed still, but she also remained silent.
"Come on, Night Screamer," Dash grunted. "You've gotta move." It was clear that Night Screamer was too scared to move. What if the screaming fans were to be able to burst through the doors?
Rainbow got impatient, she pushed the singer onto the ground. Sweat started to pour down her face.
"Go, Screamer, run! I cannot hold this much longer!" Rainbow Dash struggled to hold both handes with both hooves. Night Screamer nodded this time.
"Thank you, Rainbow Dash. I owe you one." She said before she hurried into a building nearby. When the unicorn was all the way in there, Dash opened up her wings and released the doors. She then took flight. Rainbow was then stunned. HOW did Night Screamer know her name? She hasn't even MET the mare before.
"Rainbow Dash~!" A voice rang. It was Twilight's. "Come down here this instant." She didn't sound happy. Dash lowered herself onto the soft earth. Her five friends look disappointed.
"Why Rainbow, why?" Fluttershy asked.
"W-W-Why do you say that?" Rainbow stuttered. All of her friends still had negative looks on their faces.
"Why did ya lie?" Applejack spoke up. "Ya said ya were goin' to da restroom."
"Lie? I didn't l--." Rainbow stopped. She couldn't lie any more. "I know."
Her friends didn't gasp, this wasn't a surprise for them at the moment.
"It's just... I didn't get a ticket. It was a long line and it was sold out. I'm very sorry I lied." She said with her head hung low.
"Um, Dash?" Twilight began. "These tickets were from Celestia. There was actually a ticket for you, too."
"What?!" Dash shook her head. "But you guys said you bought yours."
"Well, that's because we wanted it to be a surprise for you. So we kind of lied ourselves. I told the others first because we know how much you LOVE Flying Leaf."
"Aw, man, Twilight." Dash said. "Guys, you're the best."
"I was also curious why you said Dumb-Bell was getting your ticket for you," Pinkie replied. "I thought you weren't friends with him."
Dash sighed. "I know."
"Okay, guys, I have somebody that I want you to meet." Rainbow Dash said as she started to walk.
She lead her five friends to one of the buildings, which was a restraunt. Exhausted Night Screamer sat at one of the tables all by herself. She sighed at her loneliness. The door to the restraunt opened, Screamer perked up. Rainbow Dash came into the building with five other ponies. They found Night Screamer and went to her table.
"Guys," Rainbow started. "Meet Night Screamer." The other five ponies murmured their greetings.
"Hello," Night Screamer said. "It's nice to meet a friend of Rainbow Dash."
The five mares stopped. "Um, Rainbow Dash... do you know her?" Rarity asked.
"No, but somehow she knows me." Dash replied.
"Well, I've read about you all over magazines and whatnot." Screamer explained. "She's the one who has performed the famous Sonic Rainboom. It's always has been my dream to meet her."
Dash smiled. She just figured out that the lead singer of her favorite band is a fan of her as well. Her friends forgive her for lying for they did it themselves for Dash. That part didn't matter, but this night turned out much better than she thought.
