Ponyville was in peace. No monsters, no natural climate events or magical events disturbed the peace that this little village was having today. The ponies living in there were busy doing their jobs and no fights or friendship problems occurred in this peaceful, sunny day.
However, despite the current friendly atmosphere, one pony was not enjoying the moment. Her name was Rainbow Dash.
Lying down in a tree, The pegasus looked to the sky. It was clean of clouds and the color resembled her own cyan color fur. However, despite the sky looking beautiful, she was not happy with the view.
"No clouds to kick and have fun, no monster to defeat and save Equestria and no friendship problems to help other ponies to get along. This might be the most boring day i ever had in my life."
With a sigh, she left the tree and started wondering around ponyville to see if anything interesting was happening. Rainbow dash look in all directions, every single corner, every single cranny and to everypony.
The pony, luckly, spotted a crowd on Sugarcube Corner. Her mind was trying to understand what was going on in there, considering that she never saw the place with so many ponies since that time when Pinkie made, for the very first time, her pink cupcakes. Despite her mind trying to guess what was going on, her heart knew it that this was her chance to finally erase her boredom.
"Jackpot."
With a smile on her face, she flew towards Sugarcube Corner and landed on the ground, close to the entrance door filled with ponies. Out of nowhere, Pinkie Pie stretched her neck between the door and the crowd that were close to it. Rainbow dash's pupils shrunk in surprise upon seeing her friend appearing out of thin air.
"Hi Pinkie."
The pink pony heard her name and looked to the left, making eye contact to her friend.
"Hi Dash."
"You seen pretty busy huh?."
"Yep. Mr and Ms cake decided to create a new pie recipe. As you can see, ponies all around Ponyville want to taste that. I can't blame them, the pie tasted delicious."
"I see. Is there a way i can help you guys?."
"Sorry Rainbow, there's a rule in here when we get crowds. Every time that happens, only employees should do the tasks to server the clients. We tried using help from other ponies that didn't work here and it was disaster. I don't agree with this, but rules are rules, you know?"
"Oh, i understand. See ya around Pinkie."
"Bye Rainbow."
With a sigh, Rainbow trotted away from the crowd to the left of Sugarcube Corner in disappointment.
However, to her surprise, she spotted Soarin sitting down in a table eating the pie Pinkie mentioned to her. For a brief moment, the pegasus froze for a couple of seconds. She forgot that Soarin liked pies and forgot that, most likely, he would be at Sugarcube Corner after the place announced a new pie recipe. Dash, due to her hanging out with the wonderbolts, she managed to know the ponies personalities despite their status as famous ponies. Of all of them, Soarin was the most charismatic of all. His goofy attitude, his loyalty to maintain the wonderbolts group stable and his overall good looking body made him quite... attractive.
When the blue pegasus spoke the "attractive" word to herself, her mind knew what she was feeling. Dash never liked to express any emotions. On her mind, if she did, all ponies from Equestria would raise their eyebrows, questioning why the tough, courageous and most awesome flyer of the wonderbolts were showing emotions that make her look weak. She wanted to be know as Rainbow dash, the most toughest mare in Equestria, not the sappiest mare in Equestria.
After what felt like an eternity, the pony came back to her senses and started thinking what to do.
"I know it is risky for me to talk to him because... of... things, but, at the same time, this has being a very boring day and i want to do something interesting."
The pegasus breathed in and out before trotting to the stallion on the table. She sat on the table and looked directly into Soarin's face.
"Hi Soarin."
The white pegasus was with his eyes closed, enjoying the most delicious pie he ever tasted in his life. Upon hearing the familiar voice, he opened his eyes and look at Dash's face.
"Oh, hello Rainbow dash. Didn't notice you here. What's up?"
"I was just walking here and saw you. I wanna know if you wanna... hang out with me today."
"Sure. Despite me being here eating this marvellous pie, my day has being really boring. I coud use some company right now."
Rainbow couldn't believe what just happened. Soarin asking her to hang out with him. For a brief moment, she blushed and her cheeks became pink, but she managed to regain her composure and stopped blushing.
They stood up of the table and started trotting around Ponyville.
"So how is life going with you?"
"Been the same. Eating pies, doing stunts with the Wonderbolts, giving attention to fans and so on. The usual stuff i am pretty sure you know about it."
"I am very aware. i, in the other hoof, am trying to perfect my stunts. I failed one time and that put me down. Now i am working hard to achieve a perfect stunt."
"You are perfectionist, i presume?"
"A little. I just wanna show how good i am to other ponies and inspire others to do the same."
"Wow. That's nice Dash. I like that."
"... Thanks."
Rainbow gulped after responding to Soarin's comment. Her heart started racing like crazy.
"hey Dash, how about we go to a place to relax?"
"Sure."
Soarin started flying towards the place, while dash keep it up with him. After a while, Soarin pointed with his hoof the place.
"There."
Rainbow dash opened her jaw and started admiring the location. The place had the cleanest lake she ever saw, the flowers were colorful, with each one of them have distintic colors and the sun shined on the lake, giving a view that was a bliss to anypony who was there.
Rainbow dash loved places where she could chillax and just enjoy beautiful sceneries, but this place felt that it was made for her.
"Is he trying to impress me by showing me this place? No way." She thought on her head.
"Welcome to my second home Dash. Every time i am having a stressful, boring and, overall, terrible day, i come here to relax my mind and soul."
"It looks outstanding Soarin."
"Thanks. Hey, wanna sit on a tree and enjoy the view?"
"S-Sure..."
This was no dream, no hallucination, no weird magic mumbo-jumbo, this was real. Soarin was going to relax with the blue pegasus on his side. Rainbow started sweating profusely and her emotions were almost coming out of her body. The pressure was starting to get really intense, but, in true Dash fashion, she holded up her feelings to maintain strong towards him.
Both layed down on a tree and started seeing the view. None looked to each other or talked about nothing, but Soarin decided to break the silence.
"Dash?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you have everything on your life that you dreamed of about it?"
"Not yet. I still want to improve as a wonderbolt, i want to get a better house, trying to be a better pony and many more. I don't know the rest."
"Same... but there's one thing i would like to have... and... you too."
"... W-w-what s-s-Soarin?"
Soarin looked at the mare's face. The colors of her rainbow mane were vibrating thanks to the light reflecting on it, her magnificent purple eyes were looking at him and her cheeks were pink due to the embarassement she was having, but that made her even more cute than ever.
The stallion closed his eyes and gave the mare a kiss on one of her cheeks. He moved his mouth towards Rainbow's left ear and whispered words that melted the blue pegasus's heart.
"... A date. I would love to have a date with you. I know how you looked at me when you became a wonderbolt. i know you wanted this to happen and... well... i wanted too. Meet me at Sugarcube Corner tomorrow. I would love to have you by my side again. Now, i gotta go, i need to meet with Spitfire to do some Wonderbolt training. I see you around."
Soarin flew over to the sky, leaving the blue mare alone. She, once again, was froze in place. One of her dreams finally happened, and she also received her first kiss. The pegasus looked left and right to see if anypony was walking by. Luckly, none was spotted.
Rainbow started kicking her back hooves in the air and started giggling like a filly, with a smile on her face and pink cheeks. This time, she didn't control her emotions, she enabled them to come out of her.
"BEST... BORING... DAY... EVER."
