279. Twimilf Sparkle

Rarity was awake, albeit just barely, as she clung to the snoozing body of her beautiful purple girlfriend like a life raft. It had been a few days now since the disaster at Seaward Shores, and Rarity had spent all of them almost entirely in bed.

It was something she often did after a difficult mission or the like, though in this case it felt much worse because her time in bed was often made easier by comforting thoughts of Celestia, and right now thinking of her former mentor only brought Rarity pain and heartache.

Though in other ways, it was much easier. Twilight Sparkle, bless her heart, had laid in bed with Rarity and been her constant companion throughout those depressed days. She didn’t ask Rarity to talk about what was bothering her, or burden her with heavy conversation. Most days they read together and slept together, and that was all.

It was nice.

A knock at the door interrupted Rarity’s peaceful semi-slumber, and she groaned under her breath.

“Room service!” Pinkie Pie said from the other side of the door.

“Isn’t it a little early for room service?” Rarity groaned.

“Well, it’s 2PM, but okay!” Pinkie replied, and Rarity snorted. Okay, perhaps she had better get the day started after all.

“Wait, Pinkie,” Rarity called out as she pushed herself to a sitting position, “you can come in.”

Rarity opened the door with her magic, and Pinkie pushed a cart full of food trays into the room. Perhaps a good meal would do Rarity’s slogging brain a favor. She decided to get up and at least attempt to make herself look presentable while Pinkie Pie had the unenviable task of trying to rouse a snoozing Twilight Sparkle.

Goodness, Rarity was a fright. Her hair was all frazzled and messy, her coat was getting shaggy and coarse, and she had rings around her eyes that could put a raccoon to shame. Still though, nothing a little time and makeup couldn’t fix.

Especially time.

“Hey, Rarity,” Twilight said pleasantly with a wave as Rarity came out of the bathroom. She swore Twilight somehow never seemed to get bedhead; she looked utterly perfect no matter the time or situation, and it was as baffling as it was mesmerizing. “Are you looking forward to seeing your family?”

“Hm?” Rarity asked as she sat down next to Twilight, resting her head on Twilight’s shoulder as the dragon conjured a wing to wrap around her. “What are you—”

“Applejack said they’re coming by today,” Pinkie said pleasantly as she served breakfast for Twilight and Rarity. “And Applejack’s family too! That’s so exciting! I’m gonna mostly be with Maud today though, ironically enough, but I still can’t wait to at least say hello!”

“Wait, they’re coming TODAY?!” Rarity shrieked. She had completely let it slip her mind that her family had expressed their intent to visit her in the Crystal Empire. “Well, I suppose that’s as good a reason as any to start getting out of bed again.”

“I’m proud of you, Rarity,” Twilight smiled and put her hand on Rarity’s shoulder. “Getting out of bed is a very good thing.”

“You have to get out of bed too, you know,” Rarity chuckled slyly, and Twilight laughed.

“I know,” Twilight said. “I’m gonna hang out with Spike today. I feel like it’s been forever since we spent any real time together, and after talking with my own mom the other day, I just feel like… I dunno, sentimental I guess.”

“Oh, I haven’t heard much about your mother,” Rarity said fondly, curiosity now filling her like a wine being expertly poured into a glass. “I’d love to meet her sometime.”

“Okay but is she a milf?!” Pinkie slammed her fists on her thighs, Rarity snorting and Twilight just looking utterly baffled.

“Pinkie you can’t just ask someone if their mother is a milf,” Rarity said through her laughter. “Besides, Twilight’s mother would be a gmilf, because Twilight—oh my goodness.”

“What?” Twilight asked confusedly, and mildly irritably.

“Twilight,” Rarity cooed and looked at Twilight with stars in her eyes, “you’re a milf!”

“OHMYGOSH!” Pinkie gasped. “You’re SO RIGHT!”

“ANYWAY,” Twilight said flatly, clearing her throat and looking ever so bashful. She was the cutest milf Rarity had ever seen. “I would like for you to meet my mom, Rarity. I told her about you.”

“Only flattering things, I hope,” Rarity grinned and leaned into Twilight, which made her laugh.

“Mostly, yeah,” Twilight said. “I really gushed about you. About all of you.”

“Nice!” Pinkie whispered and pumped her fist.

“We really are all joined at the hip at this point, aren’t we?” Rarity hummed.

“Sometimes a family is six lesbians and their adopted son,” Twilight said, Rarity giggling at the absurd truthfulness of such a statement.

“I suppose so,” Rarity said fondly as she leaned into Twilight. “To be honest, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
