//------------------------------// // Game 2-Elevator Action // Story: EqG Tales: Arcade Edition // by Brian Sheil //------------------------------// One night, on top of a towering building, a grappling hook zipped through the sky, and connected to an antenna. Seconds later, a young marigold skinned girl with red and yellow streaked hair, and wearing a black outfit slid down the rope. As soon as she stepped on the roof, she retracted the rope and hook, and pulled out what looks like a tablet PC. “Agent Sunset Shimmer calling Chief Cranky Doodle.” The young lady said to her tablet. “Do you read me?” On the screen, appeared a man wearing a brown business suit and has scruffy brown hair. “Good evening, Sunset.” The man on the screen said. “Did you make it to the roof okay?” “I sure did.” Sunset replied. “I’m awaiting instructions.” “Excellent. Now, take the elevator, in the room below your present location, and go down from the thirtieth floor to the first floor, recovering seven file folders along the way. Your tablet should be able to detect those files.” “Sounds easy. But, something tells me, it won’t be.” “Right. The spy network in that building learned of you trying to get those files. They sent many enemy agents to try to stop you. Once you get those files, get out of the building where my faithful friend, Celestia, will we waiting to drive you back to headquarters.” “Understood. I won’t let you down.” “Very good. Good luck and be careful. Over and out.” The screen went blank, then displayed a layout of the building, with red blinking lights, indicating the files Sunset was told about. “Nobody said that being a hero is going to be easy.” Sunset said to herself as she entered the building from an opening on the roof. She went inside, and stepped into an elevator. “Well, here goes.” Sunset soon goes down the elevator, seeing that the first file is on the 20th floor. Suddenly, from the open sides, various characters in black suits came out to confront the young agent. “It sucks that these elevators are open in the sides.” Sunset said to herself as she pulled out a powerful pistol. “At least I was chosen because I’m a good shot.” As she continues to go down, Sunset started shooting at the enemy agents. As soon as they came close, Sunset kicked them to the ground. It’s lucky that Sunset practiced Martial Arts as well. She went into a red door, and saw a lavender folder on a table. “Yes! I found file number one.” Sunset said as she spotted an empty briefcase. “And, something to carry the files in.” She places the folder in the briefcase. “That’s one down, six to go.” After exiting the door, Sunset realized that there are no elevators going down. Lucklily, she saw an escalator, and is relieved. "Good thing that elevators aren't the only way to go down." Sunset rode escalator after escalator, fighting off enemy agents along the way. When she reached the 16th floor, she headed for another red door, she heard footsteps behind her. She quickly jabbed him in the stomach before entering the door. Talking a cyan folder, Sunset placed it into the briefcase. "That makes it two." The young lady exited out of the door, spotted an elevator, and rode it to the 14th floor. She realized that the hallway is dark as she examined her tablet. "According to the info," Sunset realized. "Floors 14, 13, 12, and 11 are all dark. Good thing, I came prepared." Taking a pair of sunglasses out of her pocket, Sunset puts them on. "These glasses have infra red lenses, which lets me see in the dark." The special glasses help out well as Sunset knocks out any enemy agents who can't see well in the dark. She entered the door, and finds a pink folder. Sunset quickly puts the folder into her briefcase. "That makes it three." Exiting the room, Sunset spots an elevator, and rides in to the 11th floor, fighting off enemy agents along the way. Spotting a red door, Sunset goes in, and sees a white folder. She puts it in the briefcase. “This makes four.” Exiting the room, she rides an elevator that only goes down to the 10th floor. As she walks off, she spots another elevator. “There’s another folder one floor below me.” Sunset said to herself. “But, the lights are on. I guess I won’t need the glasses anymore.” Putting away her special glasses, Sunset makes her way to another elevator. After, tossing an enemy agent over her shoulder, Sunset rides the elevator down to the 9th floor. Seeing a red door, she goes in, and grabs an orange folder. “This makes five.” The decent continues as Sunset makes her way to the 7th floor. After drop kicking another agent, she goes through a red door, and sees a yellow folder. She then places it in her case. "That makes it six. One more to go." Sunset hears somebody outside. She sees another enemy agent. When the perp got close, she slams the door in his face. Sunset rides an escalator to the 6th floor, and sees that it's a floor full of elevators. "Oh boy." Sunset groaned as she looks at her tablet. "And, the last folder is on the first floor. This scene is probably on the last floors I have to explore. Better get cracking!" As Sunset goes down the last few floors, she dodges gun fire, delivers a few shots of her own, and battled some of the agents in hand to hand combat. Reaching the 1st floor, Sunset see a red door, and goes in the room. She sees a marigold colored folder, and packs it into her briefcase. "That makes all seven." Sunset said. "Now, to get the heck out of here." Seeing that the coast is clear, Sunset rides an elevator to ground level. Exiting the building, she sees an elegant woman with pastel colored hair, and wearing a green business suit. She sits in a calssy red car. "Miss Celestia, I presume." Sunset addressed. "That is correct." Celestia replied. "Did you find all seven file folders?" "I did. They're all in this briefcase I found." Celestia then opened the door to the passenger side. "Then, hop in and let's beat it!" Sunset quickly gets in the car, and buckled her seat belt. "Hold on." Celestia informed Sunset. "Here we go!" Celestia starts the car, and they took off down the street, and away from the building. Sunset breathed a sigh of relif, knowing that this assignment is done. "Back to headquarters, Miss Celestia." Sunset said. "Mission: accomplished."
