Sunlight had left the police office and was going to challenge Lumiose’s Gym Leader. On the way, he saw Sunset leaving a shop carrying tons of bags.
“Hey, Sunlight!! There you are!! She said. Where were you? I tried to join you 2 hours ago, but you were not responding!!”
“Relax, i was just in a place where i couldn’t answer to your calls, answered her brother. Now, i am about to challenge Clemont.”
“Can i come with you to support you? She asked. I should have told you that after i finished my shopping, i decided to challenge Clemont...Well, his robot, to be exact...and i won!!”
She showed him her fifth badge.
“Well, in that case, you can come with me” said Sunlight.
He walked in direction of the Prismatic Tower and enter. He took an elevator and after 3 minutes, arrived in the arena.
“Welcome, Challenger!! Said a robot. And welcome back, Miss Shimmer!”
“Hum, i thought Clemont was the Gym Leader” said Sunlight.
“Yes, he is, said the robot. But he is not present today, so i replace him. Now, Follow me!”
The robot led Sunlight in the middle of the arena.
“The rules are simple, said the A.I. Each trainer can use 3 pokemons, Only the challenger is allowed to change his pokemons during the battle. The battle end if the 3 pokemons of the Challenger or of the Gym Leader fainted.”
Sunlight sent his first Pokemon.
“I count on you, Ninetails!!” said Sunlight.
“Hum, a Fire type pokemon? Said Robot Clemont. In that case, i choose you, Heliolisk!!”
“Ninetails, use Sunny Day!!” said Sunlight.
The arena became suddenly hotter and brighter. An intense sunlight appeared on the battlefield followed by an intense heat.
“You used Sunny Day to increase the power of your Fire type moves, said Robot Clemont. But you made a mistake by using this move.”
“And why? Asked Sunlight. If your pokemon was a Grass Type, i would understand. I don’t see how an Electrick type pokemon would take advantage of Sunny Day”
“Heliolisk can learn an ability named Solar Power, You probably know that ability...” Said the Gym Leader’s robot
“Yes, Solar Power boost considerably the special attack under a intense sunlight. He answered. But this ability also gradually hurt the user as the time passes. Hum, so i imagine Heliolisk have Solar Power...”
“Exact, said the robot. Heliolisk, use Parabolic Charge!!!”
The attack electrocuted Ninetails, who screamed of pain.
“Time for a payback!! Ninetails, use Flamethrower!!!” said Sunlight.
“Avoid it, Heliolisk, said the robot. And counter with dragon tail!!”
Heliolisk avoided the fire attack. His tail glowed in green and hit Ninetails on the head.
“Use Will-O-Whisp!!” said the hero.
Heliolisk couldn't avoid the attack and got hit.
“Use Flamethrower!!” said Sunlight.
“Dodge and use Bulldoze!!” said the robot.
The pokemon dodged the flame blast and made the ground shook under Ninetails.
“Jump!!” said Sunlight.
Ninetails jumped and avoided the attack.
“Counter with Solar Beam!!” said the trainer.
“Heliolisk, block his Solar Beam with your Solar Beam!!” said Robot Clemont
The two beam hit each other and caused an explosion.
“Hum, come back, Ninetails! Said Sunlight. You did a good job. Now, Go, Incineroar!!!”
“I never saw this Pokemon before, said the machine. I don’t have any data on him!!”
“Incineroar, use Cross Chop!!” said Sunlight.
The pokemon, fast like a tiger, hit Heliolisk and sent him crashing against a wall. The impact created dust, that disappeared quickly and revealed that the pokemon was K.O.
“You did a great job, Heliolisk, said Robot Clemont. I choose you, Magnezone!!”
“A Steel type, now? Asked Sunlight. A Cross Chop will easily get rid of it!!!”
“Magnezone, use Thunder Wave!!” said robot Clemont.
Incineroar was touched by the move and got paralyzed.
“Now, use Electrick Terrain!!” said the robot.
The arena was suddenly covered of an electricity field.
“Use Lock-On!” said the machine.
“Incineroar, use Cross Chop!!” said Sunlight.
The Pokemon hit Magnezone directly, but didn’t put him K.O.
“Use Zap Cannon!!” said Robot Clemont.
The attack hit Incineroar directly and put him K.O.
“Come back Incineroar, said Sunlight. Okay, Playtime’s over!! Go, Houndoom!!!”
“You can do it, brother!! Said Sunset. You can beat him!! I believe in you!!”
Sunlight felt a sudden burst of determination flowing in him.
“No mercy, Houndoom, said Sunlight. This battle ends now!! Houndoom, Mega-evolve!!!”
Houndoom Mega-evolved and howled loudly
“Use Inferno!!!” said Sunlight.
The attack hit Magnezone and put him K.O. The robot was surprised.
“You did great, Magnezone, he said. Now, come back. I send you, Luxray!!”
Luxray howled at Houndoom.
“Use Thunder Fangs!!” said the robot.
Luxray ran and bite Mega Houndoom in the neck.
“Houndoom, quick, use Crunch!!” said Sunlight
Houndoom pounded Luxray to the ground with his paws to bite him in the neck many times.
“Luxray!! Use roar!!” said Robot-Clemont.
Luxray’s attack knocked Houndoom in the air. The dog pokemon landed on his paws and growled back at Luxray.
“Use Hone Claws!!” said Sunlight
“Use Wild Charge!!” said Robot-Clemont.
Luxray covered his whole body of electricity and charged at Houndoom. Sunlight was surprised
“Oh no!! I got reckless!! He said. I let my guard down!!
Luxray hit Houndoom at full force, but Sunlight’s pokemon endured the attack like a champ.
“He tanked it!!? Said Robot-Clemont. Impossible!! That attack should have K.O’d Houndoom!!”
“Let’s finish this, said Sunlight. Houndoom, use Inferno!!”
Houndoom’s attack hit Luxray point-blank and caused a giant explosion and lot of smoke. When it disappeared, Houndoom was standing over Luxray, who was K.O.
“Yes!! I knew you could do it!! Said Sunset. That was awesome!!”
Houndoom reverted back to his normal form and Sunlight hugged him.
“I am proud of you, Houndoom, said the hero. I knew you could do it!!”
Houndoom licked Sunlight’s face. Robot-Clemont called back Luxray and walked in direction of the challenger.
“Congratulation, he said. That battle was very entertaining!!”
“That was a good match, said Sunlight. You are really good for a robot. I must say that you surprised me a lot”
“Thank you, I learned a lot from this match, said the machine. The bound you have with your pokemons is very strong”
“Like a certain trainer i know” said a voice.
A door opened and revealed a young man wearing a backpack and a blue engineer suit.
“Oh, You are back, Master!!” said Robot Clemont.
“Master? Said Sunlight. That mean that you are...”
“Yes, i am the Gym Leader of Lumiose City, answered the young man. My name is Clemont.”
“You were always in the tower, don’t you?” asked Sunlight.
“You got me, he answered. Yes, i watched both your and your sister’s matches and i must say that you are impressive. Not only you have powerful pokemons, but you also have an strong bond with them.”
“Exactly like Ash and Serena!! Said a little girl. Hi, My name is Bonnie, by the way. I am Clemont’s little sister!!”
“You are siblings? Said Sunset. That is awesome. I am also Sunlight’s younger sister!!” (She was born a few hours after Sunlight)
“No way!! Said Bonnie. Really?!!”
Clemont gave to Sunlight his Voltage Badge. He saw that he already collected 4 badges.
“Now, if you excuse me, i need to heal my pokemons, said Sunlight. You can come with us to the Pokemon Center if you want!!”
“I will go with him, said Sunset. I need to get back the pokemon i let at the Pokemon Center”
Sunset left the arena with Sunlight.
“Do you think what i am thinking?” asked Bonnie.
“I do, said Clemont. But do you really want us to do it?”
“Yes, i am sick of being in this tower, answered Bonnie. I need adventure!! I want to know them more!!”
“Me too, said the Gym Leader. Let’s pack our things!! Robot Clemont, I count on you to do my job while i’m gone.”
“Yes, Master!” said the robot.
One hour later, Sunlight was still waiting in the pokemon Center. He was playing on his Motisma-Dex to pass the time. Sunset, her, was playing with Mew. Nurse Joy came back with Sunlight’s Pokemons.
“Your pokemons recovered fully, Mr Blaze” she said.
“Thank you, Nurse Joy, said Sunlight. Have a good day!!”
He left the center but stopped when he saw Clemont and Bonnie waiting for him outside.
“You are a little bit late, said Sunlight. Me and Sunset were just leaving the Pokemon Center. Why are you here?”
“Me and my big brother want to follow you in your adventures!!” said Bonnie
“Uh...I don’t know” said Sunlight.
Sunset joined Sunlight.
“You know, she said. We could use their help. And we could make new friends!!”
“She is right, said Bonnie. Please say yes!!!”
“Please Sunlight, said Sunset. If Twilight was here, she would have already accepted.”
“Fine, answered Sunlight. They can follow us...But i am not nursing anyone!!”
“Now that we are friends, said Clemont, let’s head to Laverre. The sixth Gym Leader is located in this town.”
Mew left Sunset’s backpack and appeared in front of Bonnie. The pokemon laughed.
“Is this Mew? Asked Clemont. The Legendary Mew?!”
“Yes, said Sunset. We met a few weeks ago and he accepted to follow me in my adventure. He seem to like you, Bonnie...”
“Mew is attracted by humans with pure and kind hearts, said Clemont. I am not surprised that he like Bonnie.”
“Can we go, now? Asked Sunlight. We will talk on the way”
Bonnie paired up immediately with Sunset.
“You know, said Sunset, that will be nice to have another girl in the group to talk too.”
“We will share secrets, talk about boys, pet our pokemons...” said Bonnie.
In the same time, Clemont and Sunlight were having a discussion about the team Flare.
“I can’t believe Lysandre survived, said Clemont. I thought Zygarde killed him. And you told me that he have been cybernetized? That can’t be good.”
“Officer Jenny gave me the mission to investigate and stop him before he execute his plan, whatever it could be” said Sunlight.
“I am sure that Zygarde will stop him again” said Clemont.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about it, said Sunlight. Lysandre tell me that he wouldn’t do twice the same mistake. But if he doesn’t want to destroy the world again, what could he do?”
“We will find the answer sooner or later, said the inventor. Hum, what are these boots you are wearing...”
“These? Asked Sunlight. Just rocket boots.”
He activated them and landed off the ground.
“My brother tried to make a pair of rocket boots, but they exploded after a few minutes of utilisation” said Bonnie.
“Hum, do you allow me to analyse them?” asked Clemont.
“Meh” said Sunlight.
The group left the town and walked in direction of the next Gym.
