//------------------------------// // Rock-Types Rock! // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// So quiet in Ponyville. Total silence. Nighttime was almost over. The sun hadn't been raised yet but its glowing aura was looming over the horizon. Ash and Pikachu had dozed off near a tree in Ponyville, tiring themselves out again. But not everypony was asleep. Twilight and the others were awake as they headed to Sugarcube Corner. "Has anypony heard from Pinkie Pie since yesterday?" Applejack asked. They all shook their head in denial. "I don't see what's so important that we had to meet here this early," Rainbow complained. "Celestia hasn't even raised the sun yet." "I hope everything's okay." Twilight knocked on the door. The next noise they heard sounded like plates and other utensils being thrown about along with crashing sounds. Pinkie responded by opening the door with safety goggles and a chef hat on her. "Thank goodness you're all here! There's no time to lose!" Pinkie tossed all of her friends inside of Sugarcube Corner. She was in a hurry. Inside there were rocks everywhere. The girls had ended up stepping on some rocks in the process. "Careful." "What is all this?" Twilight asked. Pinkie Pie was mixing rocks about in a bowl, similar to she would for anything else like cake or pancakes. "My sister Maud's gonna be here soon and I need your help taste-testing my rock candy recipes." "Uh, we're happy to Pinkie Pie, but this seems like an awful lot of candy." said Applejack, worried about the huge load of colorful rocks. "Even for you." Rarity commented. "I may have gone a teensy bit overboard." Pinkie squeed. "Oh, I should also mention that I need one of Ash's friends to help with this. Brock was his name right?" "The Pokemon Breeder?" Rainbow Dash said. "That's the one. Maud loves rocks and he used to be a Rock-Type Gym Leader from what he told us. I bet those two would hit it off instantly! Now come on everypony! Let's start taste testing!" The girls had tasted the rock candies, multiple times. All those rocks proved to be pretty effective. They ended up feeling instantly full from it. Not only that but the fact that they are rocks means that biting into them... hurts. Pinkie Pie had brought in even more candy for them. "Everypony ready for more?" She asked. "Ugh... my teeth hurt." Rainbow groaned as she laid on her back with rocks all over her mouth. "I think we've had plenty. And shouldn't you be on your way to pick up Maud from the train station?" Applejack asked. "But you've only tried half of the flavors. And we have to choose the perfect ones before she gets here so I have time to make more." Pinkie grabbed a huge pile of them, eating them to see how they taste. She then scared down the whole can of rock candies. Eve felt like she was going to throw up from all the excessive eating. "Maud is your sister. I'm sure she'll love your rock candy. And I'm pretty sure you've made enough. She's only staying for the week." said Twilight. "It's not just for Maud, silly. I'm making candy for all of us!" Pinkie exclaimed as the others groaned, not wanting to eat any more of those rocks. "It's part of a very important, super-duper special tradition, that only the closest and bestest of friends can share! We're going to make rock candy necklaces together!" She showed a necklace made purely out of rocks as she screamed in joy. "It all started when Maud and I were fillies on the rock farm. She taught me the Pie family rock candy recipe. It has a secret ingredient. It's rocks... And she showed me how to string the pieces to make them into a necklace. And once we were done, we trade." Pinkie had drawn out how it all went down in a book. "Maud and I have been trading necklaces back and forth since I moved to Ponyville. They're a sign that we'll always be best friends!" "Aww. What a great tradition." Applejack commented. "Hold on." Rainbow joined in. "The secret ingredient is rocks?" "Yeah. But these are a special kind of rock that Maud discovered." "Oh. What kind of rocks are they?" Fluttershy asked. "Can't tell you that silly. It's a secret." Pinkie patted Fluttershy's head. "Oh! I almost forgot. Brock's not here! Time to grab us a rock specialist!" Pinkie dashed out of Sugarcube Corner, seeing Ash and Pikachu peacefully relaxing. So serene and quiet. Pinkie couldn't waste any time. So she had to wake them up, via megaphone. "WAKE UP!" "Gyaa!" Ash and Pikachu jumped in shock as Pikachu responded by shocking both Ash and Pinkie Pie, making them both scream. Ash coughed out smoke as he rubbed his eyes. "I'm up...What is it Pinkie?" "Pika...?" "I need you to go and grab your friend Brock! It's for my sister!" "Huh?" The morning was finally here and Pinkie Pie had gone off to the train station to get her sister. For the others, they had set up a picnic, preparing for Maud's arrival. They were told that she's into everything they are. Loves fashion like Rarity, smart and loves reading like Twilight, honest like Applejack, loves forest things like Fluttershy and maybe even Pokemon, she's a master at games like Rainbow Dash and enjoys adventure like Ash. From what Pinkie Pie told them, she sounds like the ideal pony to be friends with. The girls had everything ready as they brought along their pets and Pokemon as well. Brock had come along after being convinced by Ash to help. Then again, Brock was told that Pinkie Pie wanted him to come so Brock had to, or Pinkie would find him and it would not end well. "I sure hope Maud has an appetite," Fluttershy said. "Never met a pony or critter who didn't love Granny Smith's apple spice muffins." AJ commented. She pushed Angel Bunny and Eve from the basket of muffins, making sure they don't scarf it down. "Oh! It's no use!" Rarity came along with a hat that crystal rocks on them. "I simply cannot anything suitable to wear." She sat down as a rock dropped inside the basket of muffins. "I doubt she'll notice what anypony's wearing." said Rainbow Dash. "So what's the big deal?" The big deal is that it would be very difficult to show Maud what a strong fashion presence we have in Ponyville if the most fashion-forward pony here can't keep her hat from falling apart." Rarity looked up at her hat as the rocks kept on falling constantly. "I think we're all a little nervous about Maud's visit. She's Pinkie Pie's sister. And it's obvious Pinkie really wants us to hit it off. Being able to make those rock candy necklaces together is really important to her. I'm sure everything will be fine." Twilight commented. "WE'RE HERE!" Pinkie's voice came over the hill as she bounced forward. But there was no sign of Maud. "Where's Maud? Twilight asked. "She's coming!" Pinkie Pie had a wide grin on her face as she looked over the hill. Everypony, the Pokemon, Ash and Brock all looked over the hill to get a good look. "Uh, you sure?" Rainbow uttered. "She's not quite as fast as me. I asked Gummy to stay with her in case she got lost." And so they waited. Until finally a grey figure could be seen. "Is she even moving...?" Rainbow Dash quietly said to Rarity. She was moving slower than a Shuckle and a Munchlax combined. "We're over here Maud!" Pinkie echoed. She had finally arrived as they all got a good look at her. She stopped walking for a rock that was on the ground. Maud lowered her head, sniffing it. "Hmm. Sedimentary." She said. "Huh?" Rainbow uttered. "This is a sedimentary rock." Maud picked up the rock as her voice was very monotone and dull. "That's really fascinating, isn't it girls?" Twilight tried to lighten the bland mood as they all cracked a smile. "We're just so thrilled you could come for a visit before your big trip. Pinkie Pie has told us so much about you. I'm Twilight. And this is Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Ash and Brock." "We're ever so glad to meet you." Fluttershy commented. "We're just gonna have the best time!" Applejack exclaimed. But Maud's expression didn't change. She didn't' even say anything, making the awkward silence return. Rarity had to break the silence so she stepped up. "Pinkie Pie tells me you share my love for fashion." "I'm really into expressing myself through my wardrobe." "And what is the delightful frock you're wearing now saying?" "It doesn't talk, it's just a dress." "Oh...eh...of course. I just meant..." Rarity backed up, feeling much more awkward around her as her words were fumbling about. "The frock doesn't... uh... speak... I..." "Uhh... so this here's Winona." Applejack started to introduce the pets and Pokemon. "That there's Owlicious, Tank, Opal and Angel. And these here are our Pokemon. Twilight's Eevee or Eve along with her Minccino or Minccy, Fluttershy's Audino or Audi, my Applin, Rainbow Dash's Braviary, Whirlipede and Swablu, Pinkie Pie's Slurpuff and Rarity's Swadloon, which has a lot of them back at her place. Oh and that's Ash's Pikachu right over there. Pinkie Pie told us you have a pet too." "He's in my pocket." "Oh. You have a pocket pet?" Fluttershy was starting to get excited. "Like a tiny mouse? Or a baby bird? Or a trained butterfly?" "It's a rock." She took a tiny little pebble from her dress, revealing it to a now underwhelmed Fluttershy. "His name is boulder." "This is going to be the best most awesome funnest week ever! I can't wait for us all to become bestest friends!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed with her excitement filling up. The same can't be said for the others though. They sat down on the picnic blanket as Applejack recommended the muffins. "Maud? Would you care to try one of Granny Smith's famous apple spice muffins?" Maud went over to the basket, seeing a rock mixed in with the muffins. She took that one instead, biting into it and eating it like it was food. "Oh, uh... that's not uh.." Maud kept on eating it, casually even. "It's crunchy." She said. Pinkie Pie bit the real muffins, also feeling a crunch. "Maud's right! They are crunchy! Yum!" "So uh, Pinkie Pie tells us you like games." Rainbow chattered. "Boulder and I sometimes play a game called camouflage. It's kind of like hide-and-seek but way more intense." "....Awesome?" Rainbow slowly replied. They had decided to try Maud's version of hide-and-seek, searching for Boulder. Which is impossible considering that there were rocks everywhere. "Any luck?" Twilight asked them. "I truly wish I spent more with Boulder because I'm having a very hard time remembering what he looks like." Fluttershy picked up a random rock. "It's like looking for a pebble in a haystack." Applejack nudged a rock. "More like in a pile of pebbles." Rarity commented. "Well, you don't have to make it even harder." AJ replied to her. "Ugh! I give up! This is impossible!" Rarity groaned. "It'll hurt Maud's feelings if we stop playing," Twilight spoke. "Besides. Look how much fun Pinkie Pie's having." Pinkie was moving about, pointing her hoof at as many rocks as she can. "Is this it?" She would constantly say, getting into the game. "Just a little longer okay?" Twilight pleaded as they all agreed. But they weren't up for it. Ash and Brock were watching this bizarre display. "Hm. Maud reminds me of someone." Ash commented. "Who?" Brock asked. "His name was Nanu. She gives me that same feeling." "Pikachu." "Found him." Maud held Boulder in her hoof. "Ooh! Where was he?" Pinkie questioned. "He was hiding in my pocket." Hearing that really made Rainbow Dash a bit irate as she knocked some rocks away. "Oh come on!" Angel Bunny tapped Fluttershy's hoof, pointing at the bored pets and Pokemon. That's when Fluttershy had an idea. "Oh. That reminds me. Brock. You're an expert on Rock-Types. Why don't you show Maud?" "There are Pokemon that are rocks?" This caught Maud's attention. "Yeah! Didn't you know about the other types?" Pinkie asked. "No. I only saw two Pokemon back home. Some rat and a bunny." "Well, here are the Pokemon I've chosen." Brock took out 2 Pokeballs, releasing the Pokemon that were inside. They were Sudowoodo and Geodude. "Sudo!" "Geo!" Maud walked up to the Pokemon, taking an interest in them. She had sniffed them both, making them a bit uncomfortable. She then recognized what type of rocks they were made out of. "This one's a geode. Name's fitting actually." She said as she then went to Sudowoodo. "And this one is petrified wood. Wood that turns into a rock that normally takes millions of years to form. It's made of three minerals such as silicate, coal and sulfur iron" "Huh. I actually didn't know that." Brock said. "I like your Pokemon, Brock. Do you have more Rock-Types?" "Well, these are the only ones I have on hand with me. But, I'd be glad to show you some more Rock-Types that might be around here. And I can head over to the other world to show you the ones that have been bred." "We're making progress. Good job Brock!" Twilight shouted from afar. "I'd love to. Show me more." "Right. Follow me." Brock led the way with the others following suit. Fluttershy had decided it was time to get the pets back home though, they were more tired than everyone else. They came across a Binacle sitting near the lake as Maud went up to it. "So, what od you make of this one Maud?" Twilight asked. "This one's made out of mafic rocks. Specifically a group of rocks." "How about that Shieldon over there then?" Brock pointed to the Shield Pokemon. Maud went over, sniffing the tiny little Rock-Steel-Type. "I'm surprised there's a fossil Pokemon just out in the open here." Ash said. "What's a fossil Pokemon?" Twilight asked. "I think it's best if Hollow told you that in his next class." "Pika." "Hm. It's hard as a rock." She tapped on its shield. "I like it. I like all of these Pokemon." Maud said, still not cracking a smile though. "Isn't that great! Then you can have a Pokemon of your own!" Pinkie Pie popped up. "And it can be a Rock-Type too!" "I don't want to make Boulder jealous though." "Nonsense. He'll love the extra company! Now, let's get you a Rock Pokemon! Which one do you want?" "I already like this one." Maud looked at Shieldon. "Then we'll get it for you. I NEED A POKEBALL STAT!" Pinkie Pie bellowed. "Uh hold on. Ash checked in his pockets, getting a ball out. "Here." He tossed it over to Pinkie who caught it with her mouth, who then passed it on to Maud. "Alright, Maud. All you have to do is toss the Pokeball at it, and it'll enter." Brock explained. "Now, you won't be able to get in on the first try, but it's not a bad idea to t-" Maud tossed the Pokeball, cathing Shieldon in 2 shakes, surprising everyone. "It didn't even reach the third one!" Brock exclaimed. "I got a Shieldon." Maud picked up the Pokeball. "I think I like Rock-Types now. Actually. I love them. Can you show me more Brock?" "That'd be great. But we don't want to leave everypony out, Maud." Pinkie said. "Sure." So, Maud went over to Carousel Boutique as Rarity was planning to pick out a dress for Maud. "Now. Where should we start? I've chosen a few fabrics that I think would be stunning to-" But Maud wasn't really paying attention. At all. "Choices, Choices, Choices!" Pinkie hopped over to Maud. "Uh...Of course, if you don't see anything that speaks to you I would be to suggest-" "I like this one." Maud picked up a dirty dish towel, choosing that. Rarity laughed at that, thinking it was a joke. "Pinkie Pie didn't tell us you were so funny." "What do you mean?" "Oh...well... it's just," Rarity grabbed the towel with her horn. "I believe that is a dish towel." Maud was serious about wanting it though. "Oh, b-but it does go well with your complexion. I'm sure I can work my magic and turn it into something fabulous. Right Swadloon?" The Swadloon's shook their head, not wanting to even get near that towel. Grass-Types get stains easily. "Rarity and my sister working together to make something. This is the best day ever!" Pinkie hugged Maud. Rarity had returned with many towels at her disposal. "Perhaps I could sow all of these together and make you something you would like." "No thanks. One is enough" Maud took the dish towel anyways, placing it on her back. "Doesn't Maud make the coolest scarfs?" Pinkie squeed. "Quite." Rarity nervously responded. Next was Fluttershy, who had led Maud and Pinkie into a forest brimming with Pokemon. Mostly Flying-Types, Bug-Types and Grass-Types along with some Normal-Types sprinkled here and there. Maud was looking at a rock which had a Joltik crawl upon it. "You like it? Joltik are 4 inches, making them the smallest Pokemon. They can't produce their own electricity, so they attach to larger Pokemon and suck off the static electricity given off and store it in a special pouch." Fluttershy explained some facts about the Attaching Pokemon. "Jol!" "I was looking at the rock." "Oh." The experience was short-lived as Maud was already headed to the next friend as Pinkie waved Fluttershy goodbye. "Thanks again, Fluttershy! Start thinking about which flavors you wanna put in your best friend rock candy necklace!" Pinkie hopped away. "Oh gosh. I'm not sure we're even friends yet." Fluttershy said to Angel Bunny. Next was Twilight. "Maud is a total bookworm. She loves poetry!" Pinkie Pie said, skating with a ladder. "I've got lots of poetry. Do you read anything by Quillin Ink? Or Flourish Prose?" Twilight held up some poetry books. "I prefer to read my own poetry." "Oh, I'd love to hear some of it." Maud walked up, clearing her throat as she started her many poetry's. "Rock. You are a rock. Grey. You are grey. Like a rock. Which you are. Rock." Twilight didn't know how to respond to that as Pinkie clapped in response. "I've written thousands." "She's so prolific!" bellowed Pinkie. "This next one is about rocks. They're all about rocks." Twilight looked over at Eve, seeing that this is going to take a while. "Rocks. These are my rocks. Sediments. Make me sedimental. Smooth and round, asleep in the ground. Shades of brown and gray..." Up next was Applejack at Sweet Apple Acres. Her, Maud and Pinkie were peeling apples for cider. "You bout done peeling apples for the cider, Maud?" AJ asked. "I think this one is done." Maud retorted as Applejack saw that she smashed the apple with a rock, having a shocked expression. "Oh, uh! Yep. That's a very interesting method you got there." She laughed nervously. "Should I peel another one?" Maud asked, holding another rock, ready to smash another apple. "NO! I mean... Nah. I'm sure there's plenty of apples in it already." Pinkie then sniffed the aromatic cider. "Can we taste it now?" "Sure, why not?" Applejack poured the ciders in the mugs as they were ready to be tasted. Pinkie Pie drank hers in an instant. Wow! That's the best apple cider I've ever had!" Maud did the same next. "What do you think, Maud?" AJ asked her as Maud took a drink. "It tastes like apples." "Told ya she was super honest. Just like you!" Pinkie uttered, getting close to Applejack. "We're practically twins..." Applejack laughed nervously. And now it was Rainbow Dash's turn. They were playing a game where you chuck rocks as far as you can. Rainbow Dash got a good distance. "Yeah! Let's see you beat that!" So, Maud responded by picking up a much larger rock and tossed it. It had a much longer distance as it went over the hill, hitting the ground as a black mushroom cloud of smoke erupted like an explosion, causing a powerful shockwave that moved the trees and lifted the lake, causing water to fall on them. "THAT WAS AMAZING!" Pinkie said, moving on a log on the water. "Woah. How'd you do that?" Dash turned to Maud. "I threw it." "I...guess you won this one, Maud." "I'm not really into... winning." What Maud said made Rainbow Dash drop her jaw. And the final one was Ash and Pikachu. "Maud loves adventure! She's a real go-getter!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Really? What do you adventure for?" Ash asked. "Pika?" "I adventure rocks. Bigger rocks than the ones I found. The biggest." "Oh." "Pikachu." "Isn't maud so adventurous?!" Pinkie wrapped her arms around Ash. Then, Ash had an idea, calling back to Maud's sudden love for Rock-Type Pokemon. "Hey, I know. Maud. How would you like to know about Legendary Rock-Types?" "Go on." This intrigued Maud as she leaned in to listen along with Pinkie Pie. "You see, there are certain Pokemon that are much more important. The Rock-Types you've seen are standard but the one you caught is kinda rare. A Fossil Pokemon. But out there, there exists a Legendary Pokemon that's a Rock-Type. Regirock!" "Pikachu!" "Regirock huh? I wanna more about it." "Well, it's made out of nothing but rocks. It's practically pure rock. And then there's Terrakion. His skin's had as a rock too! There's quite a few of them. Not only that, but there's a Mythical Rock-Types. Diancie!" Ash explained, getting Maud very interested in this. "I like this. I want to see more Rock-Type Pokemon now." "I know that excitement. There's also the fossils which are most of the time, Rock-Types. And it gets better. Pokemon can even learn Rock-Type moves." "Moves?" "Oh yeah. That's what makes Pokemon so unique. They can use moves of all sorts. Some Rock-Type moves are Rock Throw, Power Gem and Rollout." "This makes me want to catch more Rock-Type Pokemon now. I might have to go searching for some when I get home." "It'll be a blast. Adventuring for Pokemon is always fun." "Pikachu!" "Great insight Ash! Now Maud's definitely gonna be a full-fledged Pokemon trainer too!" "I want to go talk to Brock. I like him and his name. It sounds like rock." Maud said. "You do that! I think now is the best time to get those necklaces ready!" Back at SugarCube Corner, Twilight and the other 5 had gathered up. Pinkie Pie opened up the door to see her unsure friends. "Great! You're all here! Maud is out looking for rocks and chatting with Brock, so this is the perfect time for us to set up everything we'll need to make our best friend rock candy necklaces!" Having said that, the 5 of them had shifted their eyes and looked away in sadness. "What's wrong?" Twilight dug the ground as AJ pushed her forward. "Well. I'm not sure it's the best time to make best friend rock candy necklaces." "Why not?" "W-Well, darling." Rarity stuttered. "You see..." "You're ever so thoughtful to share your special bonding ritual with us... but um..." Fluttershy muttered. "But whaaat?" Pinkie leaned forward with her eyes widening with excitement. Applejack sighed as she knew she had to tell the truth. "The truth is, we've all been trying real hard to get closer to Maud. But, well, maybe some ponies just don't click the way others do." Applejack explained as her friends agreed. "We just wouldn't feel right making something that means we're best friends if... well... we aren't." Hearing this struck Pinkie Pie in the heart like an arrow. Her puffy hair had deflated as her smile formed into a frown. "Oh. Ok. If anypony needs me...I'll be in here trying to figure out what to do with 200 pounds of rock candy." She backed up into SugarCube Corner, closing the door. The girls had headed over to Golden Oak, feeling bad for what just happened. "I feel awful!" Rarity commented. "Just awful." "Maybe we should've just pretended we were friends with Maud." Fluttershy sighed. "If we didn't tell Pinkie Pie that we hadn't all become the best of friends, I think Maud would have..." Twilight pitched in. "Maybe. But who would've known?" Rainbow Dash replied. "That pony is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an igneous." "Don't you mean, inside an enigma?" Rarity corrected her. "Nope. I mean igneous. It's a kind of rock. Ask me how I know that!" Suddenly, there was knocking on the door. Twilight opened it to reveal Pinkie Pie, back to her happy self. "I've come up with just the thing to bring everypony closer together!" What Pinkie Pie came up with was a chaotic mess. She led them to the location where Maud, Brock and Ash was as they came across a monstrosity of mess. There were clusters of rocks, tubes, stacks of books out in the open, fabric piled up on the ground and more. "I call it! Pinkie-Rainbow-Rari-Twi-Apple-Flutter-Maud-Fun Time!" "Huh?" Rainbow Dash uttered. "It combines everypony's interests into one giant activity that we can all enjoy together and that will totally bring all of my bestest friends together as bestest friends!" She explained. "You'll need these." Pinkie pointed her hoof at some not-so-protective gear that was wrapped around one of Rarity's pony mannequins. "Like I said. Huh?" "Probably better for me to show you. Watch this!" Pinkie put on some gear, ready to test this abysmal amalgamation out. First, she went through a tunnel full of apple sauce. "Apple sauce tunnel for Applejack," Then she landed in the fabrics. "Pretty shiny stuff for Rarity," Next she ran over to the books, charging through them. "Reading material for Twilight," She then showcased some of Fluttershy's animals who sat around her on a table. "Critter time for Fluttershy." Next was one for her which was a dome that made cupcakes rise up when a button is pressed. "Cupcakes yours truly." She took a bite out of one of them as she jumped over to the final mess, and it's a race for Rainbow Dash!" "Pinkie Pie. What is that?!" Twilight pointed her hoof up at the huge cluster of rocks that were piled up. The biggest rock on top looked like it was about to lose balance at any moment. "A rock slide of course! For Maud. First, you climb then you slide!" "I've got a bad feeling about this." Applejack said to Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie bounced on the pile of rocks, getting higher, but her hoof ended up getting trapped within a rock. "Huh?" She tried to get her hoof out but the rocks had wedged her in hard. As she struggled to remove her hoof, she was causing the other rocks to rumble, making the entire thing shake aggressively. The rock on top was moving the most as Rarity gasped. "Oh goodness!" Fluttershy exclaimed. Pinkie kept on struggling but that only made things worse. The huge rock had slid down the other rocks, heading for Pinkie Pie. "Watch out!" Applejack cried out. "W-Wha?" Pinkie Pie looked up at the huge rock that was about to crush her. "HELP!" "Pikachu IR-" Before Ash could give the command, Maud had dashed over, putting on the gear, going through the apple sauce and the fabric, racing forward to save her sister. She jumped up, rapidly smashing her hooves on the huge rock, breaking it apart into tiny little pieces one by one at lightning speeds as everyone's jaw dropped. Maud then broke the rock that had trapped Pinkie's leg, freeing her. Everyone had a huge sigh of relief. "What-How-WHAT?!" Rainbow Dash stammered. Maud and Pinkie Pie hopped off the rock cluster as Maud gave her sister a hug. "Pinkie Pie. What were you thinking?!" She for once raised her voice. "I guess I wasn't." "I know how important it is to you that your friends become my friends. But I just don't think it's going to happen. I think it would be best if I just go back to the rock farm and spend the rest of the week there." She then walked up to the ground. "It was nice to meet you all. Makes me happy knowing Pinkie Pie has such good friends. And thanks for the Pokemon advice, Ash, Brock." Maud had walked away. "But. We never got to make our rock candy necklaces." Pinkie sighed. "Wait, Maud!" She chased after her gray sister. "I'll come with you!" "I can't believe Maud cut her trip short." Twilight said. "I can't believe we almost lost Pinkie Pie to that ridiculous obstacle course." Rarity followed. "Thank goodness Maud was able to reach her in time." Fluttershy commented. "Did you see how fast Maud moved?" spoke Rainbow. "And the way she smashed that huge rock into dust! How in equestrian did she do that?!" Rarity exclaimed. "Pinkie Pie was in trouble. Maud would move mountains for her if she had to." Fluttershy finished the conversation. Hearing this made Twilight spark an idea. "That's it! I think I finally realized what we all have in common with Maud! Something that just might be worthy of a very important super-duper special tradition that only the closest and bestest of friends can share!" Pinkie Pie was on the train with Maud, still bummed out. "Thank you for coming with me. I don't know how long I'll be gone on my rock research trip. I'm glad I still get to spend some time with you before I go." "Me too...I'm sorry I put so much pressure on everypony to bond. I only wanted my friends to get to know my amazing older sister." She went in for a hug. Eventually, the train had bought them to their destination, as they returned home to their rock farm. And waiting there were Twilight and the others. "What are you doing here?" "Pinkie Pie. We're so sorry we hurt your feelings by not bonding with Maud right away. And Maud we're sorry that the only way to spare Pinkie Pie's feelings was to leave Ponyville early." Twilight said. "Mhm." The others agreed. "We've seen how much you care about Pinkie Pie. First hoof." said Applejack. "Pinkie Pie's happiness means as much to us as it does to you. And we're sorry we couldn't see it sooner. The thing that makes up click and creates a special bond between us is how much we all love Pinkie Pie!" Twilight exclaimed. "Aw shucks." Pinkie gushed. "That's a pretty great thing to have in common if you ask me. What do you think Maud?" Twilight asked. "Sure." She replied, making the air awkward again. "What's wrong?" Pinkie asked. "Sorry darlings. We just thought you'd be a bit more excited about this." Rarity replied. "Are you kidding me?! I've never seen her more excited in my entire life!" Pinkie bellowed. "I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't show my enthusiasm for things quite in the same way my sister does." "Uh, we noticed." Rainbow Dash commented. "And we're totally cool with it." "Uh-huh." The rest of them agreed. "Well, today's gonna be a day to remember, huh Pikachu?" "Pikachu." Returning back to the train station, it was time for Maud to go on her trip. "Maud, we'd like to give you something to take on your trip. So that you remember all your friends from Ponyville." Twilight took the rock candy necklace, as it was finally made. She placed it around the gray pony's neck. The others did the same as they had their necklaces in their own custom styles. From an apple to a rainbow thunderbolt. "Thank you." "Try not to eat all the candy before you leave!" Pinkie squeed. Maud had then given Pinkie Pie her own necklace as they had exchanged their own. Pinkie hopped off as Maud placed the necklace inside a box, that revealed to have other rock candy necklaces. Twilight peered over, seeing the cluster. "Are those all the necklaces Pinkie Pie sent you?" She asked. "Mhm." Maud closed the box. "You haven't eaten any of them?" "I don't really like candy. But I do love Pinkie Pie." Maud had finally cracked a smile, looking at her candy-loving sister. "I'm off now." Maud then released Shieldon from is Pokeball as it jumped on her back. "Come on Shieldon. And thank you all." Chapter 82 End!
