A Magical Friendship, Part 1

A Magical Friendship part 1

“ Only if true friendship in your heart resides
The elements ‘till then you’ll find”

After reading this quote, my eye twitched. Happens every time I feel “Déjà vu”. Sometimes, this irritates me. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon, a very pleasant day, a day of rest and happiness. But not for me. I get to spend it at the library, looking for ancient quotes for my project in History. Since I became a high school student, I became loaded with assignments, quizzes, projects, and extra work any teacher would give. Because of these, I lost my passion for the things I loved before: eating ice cream, watching T.V. and some other things that are now distance to my memory. I took the book I was currently reading and borrowed it. As I walked away from the library, I noticed that some people were peacefully walking, their minds were free of troubles. I was jealous of their life. Nothing would happen if I only complain, I’d say to myself. So going straight home, I ran to catch up from the lost time walking mindlessly. As I went inside, I was greeted by my parents. They asked, “how was my day?” I would simply repeat a word I have said for the past 4 years: fine. I went directly to my room, and started to spread the books I borrowed from the library. I started on English class, doing an essay about a fruit. I thought about it for a minute or so and came with apples. Well, it was the most common fruit I could think of. Suddenly, my eye twitched. I got a little angry to myself, but calmed down after a while and started writing. I finished for about an hour, but it was worth. Next was biology. I was tasked to research about the different ecosystems of animals. I got that big green book entitled “Everything About Biology”. After a while, my eye twitched again. I just let it pass. After doing some notetaking, got a little bored. I went down the house and checked the kitchen for something to eat. Unfortunately, there was nothing. So I walked outside and went to the grocery. Since it was near us, there was no need to ride a car. Going inside, I was cheerfully greeted by my friends. “Um, what are you guys doing here?”, I asked. One of them, Mark, replied with an excited tone, “We are here to invite some people to our school’s party! Hey, would you want to come?” I was about to say yes, but my eye twitched again. That was the worst timing of my eye twitching. “Are you okay?”, they asked me in a concerned manner. “I’m…um…fine! No wrong thing here”, I replied. I couldn’t tell them about my eye twitching. I released a deep sigh and continued, “I’ll see if I’m available. I might be busy studying”. “Oh, I understand, but sometimes, you are studying so hard you’re forgetting something important”, Mark said with his voice mixed with concern. He and the others walked away from the grocery. After buying some food, I went directly home. I was still bothered by what Mark said. “Forgetting something important?”. As I sat in my chair, I began on earth science. I studied about the different rocks. I was fascinated about the jewels mentioned in the book. Suddenly, my eye twitched. I tried to calm down. This phenomenon was rare. Usually, my eye’s twitch comes once a week, but today, it was getting wild. I closed the book I was reading and went outside for a walk. It was still a bright and sunny afternoon, the birds chirping and the flowers blooming. The clouds were just in the perfect position. My eye twitched, again. Involuntary movements are sometimes a pain. I didn’t anymore mind it. “My life can’t get any worse.” Then I remembered something. I needed to make my History project! I ran as fast as I can to my house. I guess I got a little carried away in the peaceful scenery. That wasn’t my place. Mine was in a chaotic world, full of sadness and misery. I wanted to change that, but it seemed impossible. As I entered my room, I got that book I borrowed last from the library. I paced myself and started scanning the book. “African quotes, China quotes……” I continued flipping its pages until I came to a very interesting part. “Equestrian quotes? Never heard that place before” I said. My eye twitched. I gave a big sigh, giving up the fight against my involuntary movement. I opened the page and found only one quote. I read it out loud, “Only if true friendship in your heart resides, the elements ‘till then you’ll find.” My eye twitched again. What the heck are the elements?! I was curious about this quote, and this “Equestria”. I tried to reason to myself not to proceed so that I can finish my project, but my curiousity got the better of me. I prepared myself, and headed off to the library.
-----
Reaching the library, I went immediately to the librarian, Ms Marylin, or Miss Mars for short. “You’re here again, little one. Have you been playing under the sun?”, She said while looking at me with surprise. I went straight to the point. “Miss Mars, Do you have a book that has any connection with “Equestria?” or anything like that?” My eye twitched. A smile grew on her face. “Since you are very kind, the book certainly I shall find” She said while going through a pile of books in the corner. She returned, and gave me a dusty old book. I was about to say thanks, but she interrupted by saying with a more and deeper tone, “Beware the book, and secrets it hold. But it’ll prepare you, for the story that shall unfold.” I looked at her, with my eyes all confused. I went to a table and dusted off the book. As I opened the first page, and started reading:

“Once upon a time, in the beautiful land of Equestria,
there were two regal sisters who ruled together, and created harmony for all the land.
To do this, the eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the sun at dawn.
The younger, brought out the moon to begin the night.
Thus, the two sisters maintained balance for their kingdom and their subjects,
all the different types of ponies.”

I stopped reading. I wanted to laugh because it was like an introduction to a kid’s show, but my eye twitched and I felt a serious case of Déjà vu. I spent a minute trying to remember anything hearing this, but nothing came. I gave up and scanned the book for “Elements”. It took me awhile to find the page, but I apparently found it. “The elements of harmony”, page number 427, from the section of “Equestrian history”. I started reading it:

The Elements of Harmony
The 6 elements of harmony is a powerful kind of magic that can calm chaos and disharmony if used. But this can be only activated if both the 6 elements and their spirit are present at once. The 6 elements are as follows: Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic. The element of magic has different properties than the other 5. This element only appears if the 5 are present. An entity can only be connected by the elements if their hearts have element’s spirit.

I didn’t understand any of them. It was like a stupid story made by a kid who just can’t do anything good. I regretted going here in the library, for wasting precious time to make my projects, and studying. But the book was like “strange”, so I borrowed it. Walking away from the library, I felt a skip in my heart. Those things seemed so familiar, yet entirely alien. I wasn’t feeling myself today, so I went to the park for a little walk. Some part of myself tried to reason to myself, “what about your projects?” I would just justify my walk saying that “It won’t happen everyday”. I sat on a bench, noticing that everyone was in peace. It was about to be dark, and the sunset showing it’s magnificent lights display. My eye twitched. I felt like an idiot. I stayed for a while, though. I saw the people going home. I stayed for about an half hour until I was the last person on the park. It was now dark, with the streetlights and the moon as my only light. The stars were not visible in this part of the land, all to blame is the bright city lights. I stood up and started walking away from the park. “It’s a long way down.” I said with a weak voice. As I started walking, I felt a dark aura across the place. It wasn’t like a normal night, or maybe this wasn’t a normal night. The same day that my eye twitching gets wild can’t have a normal and peaceful night. The place was getting colder, much to my dismay. I was starting to have goose bumps, and the wind was starting to blow. Suddenly, I heard an ominous laugh in my head. “What the…” I said in disbelief. The air around me started to swirl slowly by slowly, until it became very violent, causing it to be a tornado, only with me inside. I was freaked out. Not only that thing was starting to be scaring, but things also are breaking laws of physics. In my calculation, I should be blown up in this very moment, but here I was, standing like a statue. I was scared to go out from the tornado, since it may blow me up. Out of nowhere, a burst of flashing white light burst in front of me and rendered me unconscious.
-----
“…OWW!” I woke up with a sharp sting on my head. I saw myself sleeping in the park bench. The sunrise must’ve waken me up. I looked around, looking for anyone, but I didn’t see any. I tried to remember everything last night. I guess I still remember everything. Starting from the dark aura until the tornado. But the question is: How did that unbelievable thing happen? What it just a dream? Did I sleep in this bench and slept. But the things that happened were so real. I started walking home, knowing that my mother and father were worrying about me. I knew something wasn’t right. And I had that strange feeling that someone was watching me. I shrugged it off and continued walking. I still had my bag, and in that bag was the book I borrowed from the library. Maybe… No. The book has nothing to do with the strange happenings. Then I had a terrific idea! What if I ask Miss Mars? Maybe she knows something. She looked like she knew everything, and she’s the only one I could trust. Since she gave me a strange book then she can give me the answer. I dashed, knowing that every second was important.
-----
As I reached the library, I saw the “Out for the holiday” sign. What? What kind of library that closes for a holiday? Good. Miss Mars is gone the time I need her. I sat on the stairs, looking at the open sky. Maybe it’s just my imagination… I let a big sigh. Everything is wrong. I thought about everything for a minute or so when a girl about the age of 14 – 15 sat at the library stairs below me, looking all confused. She had dark violet hair, with a stripe of pink and violet. She wore a school uniform unfamiliar to me. My eye twitched looking at her. She looked like she wasn’t from this place. “Are you lost?” I asked politely. I was surprised by her reaction in seeing me. She was shocked and scared by just looking at me. She was kind of weird. She looked at me frozen until she was able to gather some courage in her. “Are you…going to hurt me?” She asked with fear in her eyes. I was surprised by her question. Did I look like I would hurt someone? I laughed loudly, which surprised her. “Me? Nah, I’m not evil or that sort of thing.” I said to her with a little hint of laughter. She looked at me with curiousity. She stood up and studied me. She checked my back and my forehead. “Are you okay?” I asked with amusement. “What do you call yourself?” She asked me, still a little cautious. “My name?”, I replied. “Your scientific name.” She said. I guessed she was a psycho who had an assignment about scientific names but found the library closed. “Human’s scientifical name is Homo sapiens sapiens”. “Human? Homo Sapiens Sapiens?” She replied, checking if what she heard was correct. I was amused by her nature. She was like a child asking, why birds fly. She thought about it for a moment when the door of the library started to open and showed Miss Mars’ face. “Miss Mars? What are you…” I couldn’t finish when she got out and pulled us both inside the library.
-----
The library was empty, only with the presence of hundreds of books, Miss Mars and the aptly strange identity derange logically lost teen. “Can you take a look, if in your bag you have the book?” Miss Mars asked me without delay. I felt the book in my bag. “Yes I have. Why?” “Good.” She said without answering my question. She turned to the girl. “Do you know where your friends are? Did they get hit by a car?” “No. And what’s car?” The girl said. I was shocked. She doesn’t know what a car is? Maybe she was from the mountains. Yeah, those technology ignorant people. I laughed slightly, only to catch the attention of Miss Mars and the strange girl. “What?” I asked them, embarrassed. “This is no laughing matter, little one. There are much more troubles to come. “Trouble? Am I in trouble?” I asked. What could have probably put me to trouble? Then I remembered the happenings last night, the tornado and such. “Um, Miss Mars, can you please explain what’s happening?” The girl asked. “These things sure are a mystery. But listen closely to my story.” We all huddled together, Miss Mars went somewhere, then the lights suddenly went out. Then out of nowhere, a lighted candle appeared. Miss Mars brought it, and put it at the center of the group. “Miss Mars, what’s the use of using a candle when we can us, well I don’t know, the light bulb?” I asked. “Ah, you ask too many questions. Just listen to my lessons.” She started. “Long ago, in the land of…” I couldn’t hold it any longer. “Miss Mars! Can you please just get straight to the point?” I shouted. “To teach you sure is tough.” She stated. “Very well I shall tell you everything. But only if you agree to my bidding.” “And what is that?” The girl asked. “If you answer the riddle I give, the answers in your heart will live.” “Bring it on.” I said with excitement. I was an expert of riddles. I read every riddle book in the library. I was ready. Then, she said the riddle with a deeper tone than her usual. “Only if true friendship in your heart resides, the elements ‘till then you’ll find” My eye twitched. “Hey I know that quote!” I shouted with glee. “It’s in the book in my bag!” I reached for the book and saw it on the first page. The violet haired girl also took a peek. I looked at the table of contents for any connection about it, but I found none. “Well that’s helpful.” The girl remarked. Ha ha. “Yeah, and your encouraging speech added it” I said in return. “Guys, stop arguing.” Miss Mars said. “You even don’t know what’s happening.” guess she was right. So we concentrated on the poem. “The elements must be the Elements of Harmony, right?” The girl asked Miss Mars. “Oh, you are very bright.” Miss Mars said gleefully. “That fact you are right.” I interrupted their conversation. “What elements of harmony are you exactly talking about?” I asked. My eye twitched. Then I remembered about the book. And the article about the elements of harmony. I got the book and scanned for the page. ‘What are you looking for?” the girl asked. “I’m looking for the elements of harmony.” I replied. I found it. The elements of harmony. page number 427, from the section of “Equestrian history”. “Hey, give me that.” The girl snatched the book in my hands. “This is a reference guide to Equestria! But how did it end up here in this place?!” “Um…” I replied. “I got that book to this library, to…” I paused. Then I looked to Miss Mars. The girl also turned to her. “Miss Mars, who the heck are you?” She had a smile on her face. She peacefully said, “Ah, I see we need to start the actions. Why don’t we have some formal introductions?” The girl sighed. “Okay, I’ll go first. I’m Twilight Sparkle. I now reside in ponyville, with some good friends, an assistant baby dragon, and I live in a library.” “Where the heck is ponyville? You have a dragon as an assistant? And you sleep in a library?” I asked. “Ponyville, is a place in equestria.” She answered me. “Yes. I have an assistant BABY dragon named spike. And there’s a room above the library. I don’t sleep in the floor. Okay, how about you?” “Me?” I said. “I’m Neil. I reside in this very place, with…um…no friends. I go to school, usually being tasked to too many assignments, and usually stay here in the library.” Twilight raised an eyebrow and asked some questions. “You don’t have any friends? Too many assignments and usually stay here in this library?” I sighed. “Yes. I don’t HAVE any time for friends. And all to blame of the responsibilities the school is giving me. And I’m here in the library to study and learn.” Miss Mars interrupted us. “I guess we got the water out of the pail. It’s time I tell my tale.” We both looked at her. “Long time ago, in the land of…” I interrupted her tale. “Miss Mars! Just tell us who you are!” “Okay okay!” She said. “I, for one, come from Equestria.” My eyes were filled with shock. Twilights eyes with excitement. “To be exact, my name is Zecora.” Twilight’s eyes were now filled with glee. She approached miss mars, or more preferably, Zecora, and hugged her. “Zecora! How long have you been here?” Zecora laughed slightly. “Ah, my dear, I have no time to tell my story. For you two must now hurry.” I raised a question. “So, miss Mar… I mean Zecora. What should we do next?” Zecora got the reference guide of equestria and gave it to me. “This book now, young lad, belongs to you. All what says here are all true. Now go look for twilight’s friends. You will need them in the end.” I had my mouth agape. Twilight looked a little sad. “Zecora, you won’t go with us?” I saw depression in her eyes. “Sorry my friend, for I cannot assist. But you’ve got someone, to help you see in this mist.” They both looked at me. “What?” I asked. Twilight looked at Zecora with confused. “Why him? Why not you?” “He has some things that I don’t know. But you need to trust him in times of highs and lows.” “What?!” I said in surprise. “Zecora, you’re telling me to assist this girl on her wild adventures about her problems!? What has that to do with me? And I have school tomorrow. I can’t be absent.” Zecora thougth for a while. “If you don’t follow the things I tell, you cannot regain the things that fell. Our world and yours will be all gone, and all to blame is just one.” “Who, me?” I asked. She replied to me with seriousness. “No. You are just one of his hoard. For the real one is called “Discord”.” Twilight’s eyes were filled with terror. It was more than her expression when she first saw me. “Di..Discord?” She said with fear. “Yes. He found a way to break your spell. And now nothing will be well.” Twilight almost fainted. I looked confused. “And who is this Discord you speak of?” I asked. “He is the spirit of chaos and disharmony. He is a head of a pony and a body with all sorts of animals. What else is there to tell?” Twilight said. She looked at me seriously. “Okay,Neil. Your going to help me find my friends and defeat discord. Now we need a plan.” I looked at her with the same eyes she gave me. “This is a joke, right?” I asked them both. “This is no joke, my friend.” Zecora replied. “This may really be the end.” I sighed, then gave my opinion. “Okay, I’m going to help you. But if this is all a joke, I’m going to kill you both.” “Go! Don’t waste your time.” Zecora shouted. “And don’t worry, you’ll all be fine.” She then pushed us out of the library. Zecora looked at twilight and said, “If you still want harmony to live, all you need to do is to believe.”Twilight was confused. As we stood at the library stairs, the door quickly shut. “So, shall we get started?” Twilight asked. So we started walking.
-----
“So, twilight. Tell me about this “Equestria” you speak of.” I asked as we walked to the road. It was about 09:00 in the morning, and I hadn’t eaten any breakfast. “um, it’s a peaceful place, run by Princess Celestia and Luna.” She replied. “What? Well who’s the queen?” I asked. “Princess is the highest authority given. So, there’s no Queen.” “oh…” I said. I never heard of Equestria before. What kind of people live there? I was confused. “So, who are your friends?” I asked. “Well, there’s Applejack. She’s honest, hardworking, and completely reliable. Then Fluttershy. She’s shy, gentle, leShe loves to laugh and usually throws parties randomly. Then Rarity. She’s charming. She works at a botique, and she’s also very generous. Lastly, is rainbow dash. She loves to race. And very competitive. She’s also loyal to her friends.” “Okay.” I started. “So where do you think we’ll find them in this big world?” “It’s your job” She stated. I grunted. I thought for it for a little while, then I suggested. “What if we try the plaza?” “And why there?” She asked. “Maybe one of them is there, trying to ask some questions to the others?” I replied. So we went straight to the plaza.
-----
Reaching there, we where greeted by hundreds of people who where busy doing their jobs. We scanned the area, but found nothing in vane. “Hey!” I said. “Why don’t we try to look their up in that tower?” I pointed to the big town clock that stood high. There was a balcon there for sightseing, but it seemed no one was there. “Sounds good.” She replied. So we worked our way to the crowd until we reached the tower door. As I opened it, the echoes ringed to our ears. “Ah, the sound of emptyness.” She said. We climbed up the long stairs. It took us forever to reach the top, but we made it. We stood up in the balcon to look for anything “Strange” going on, but the only sight we saw is the sea of people going to their destination. We spent half an hour until she was satisfied on her search. “Maybe they’re in other towns. Treated cruelly by this world.” She said gloomly. I patted her back. I tried to comfort her. “Well, maybe they also found a friend to help them look for you and the others.” I thought of some other ways to cheer her up, but bothing came out of my mind. She sobbed. I hate to see others cry. It also affects me. “Now, now.” I got a piece of tissue from my bag and gave it to her. “No need to fret. Everything will be alright, only if you’ll believe in it.” She wiped her tear with the tissue and threw it away. She tried to smile, but there was still a hint of sadness in her eyes. We were still in the balcony, waiting for any signs of anyone. Suddenly, my eye twitched. Then I felt that same dark aura I felt when I was in the park when the tornados and flashing light appeared. I took that as a bad omen. “Um, Twilight I have a bad feeling in this place.” I looked at her worried. She saw that and decided to believe me. Just as we were about to get out the balcony, the floor suddenly creaked. “What now?” Twilight asked in fear. We both didn’t move. We both knew that one small step would cause the whole balcony to break and leave us both falling to the worst place to die: the plaza. We frozed like stone statues. We didn’t know what to do next. “Things can’t get any worse.”, she said. Suddenly, the balcony colapsed. It broke into pieces and went straight to the plaza. I was in full panic mode. Luckily, I was able to reach twilight’s hand and grabbed it. Then I used my other hand to grab the edge of what was left from the balcony. “Why did I even ask.” Twilight mumbled. “Hang on!” I shouted at her. I couldn’t pull us both safely. I wasn’t strong enough to do that. “Help!” She shouted in fear. I heard the pieces of the balcony hit the ground. Some people were now gathering below us, wondering what was happening instead of helping us. I couldn’t hold her much more longer. I could let her go to save myself…then I had a brilliant idea. “Hey twilight!” I shouted at her. I caugth her attention, with her eyes glaring with fear. “Let go.” I said calmly. I knew that was the only way. “What? I’m going to die, idiot!” She replied back. I need to reason with her. “You’re NOT going to die!” “How do I know you’re even telling the truth? You’re technically a stranger to me! It’s hard to trust someone you just met!” She replied. “Yes! I may be a stranger, but I’m also your friend! I promise you’ll be safe.” I said with a firm voice. She looked at me, with her eyes still doubting. But she finally suppresed it and said, “I wish you’re not a liar.” I replied, “I sometimes lie, but when I promise, I promise. Now release my hand, I couldn’t hold us both together for long.” She closed her eyes and released my hand. She fell into a brick extending to the wall from a locked window that was just an inch away from her. She sighed with relief. After that, I climbed myself up the balcony door. “Just wait! I’m going to open the window for you.” I shouted. Now there was trust in her eyes. I guess she now fully trust me after what happened. I navigated my way to the window where she was standing. I unlocked it and let her in. “Now let’s get moving. We don’t want to grab more attention, do we?” So we dashed our way out of the tower with maximum stealth and was detected by no one. We passed thru alleys and dark corners, until we reached to a safe spot, a dark alley with no one around. “Thanks.” She said with affection. I was touched. “No need to thank me. I’m here for you. When you need a shoulder to cry on, someone to rely on, don’t hesitate to call me.” She smiled. Suddenly, something moved from one of the dark places there. We were shocked. “Put your hands up and come slowly!” I shouted. I looked for any weapon, but the only decent thing I could find is the cover of the trash can. Defence is the best offence, after all. Then, as the source of the voice neared us, I saw a shadow of a girl about the age of Twilight. When she stepped out completely from the shadows, I saw the girl. She was as tall as twilight. She had a setson hat, with a light yellow hair that was ponytailed. She dress was that of a farmer from the country. She had some freckles on her face. My eye twitched. “Are ya Twilight?” She asked to twilight. Wow, she had a southern accent. They both stared at each other for a minute until Twilight broke the silence and asked, “Are you Applejack?” They shed tears of joys and hugged each other tightly. “Oh, Applejack! It’s so good to see you!” Twilight said cheerfully. “Me too, sugarcube. How ya doing? And who’s that fella with you?” Applejack asked. “I’m fine. Applejack, meet Neil, my newfound friend. Neil, meet Applejack, one of my friends from ponyville.” I reached my hand at her and she happilly grabbed it, shaking it fast. “Nice to meet ya, Neil. I reckon’ you’ve been helpin’ ma friend twilight here. Thanks a lot.” “Your welcome.” I replied. “Hey Applejack, why are you here?” Twilight asked. “It all started like this: When ah first reached this place, I was mighty shocked of the changes. Ah was also worried about you guyz. I was also afraid of the freakin’ aliens here, so ah hid here. Then ya’ll saw me.” She said. I was shocked. Freakin’ aliens? Maybe she’s talking about the huge buildings and so. If she’s from the country, that would’ve been her reaction. “Where are the others?” Twilight asked her. “No idea.” Applejack replied sadly. “Well, why don’t we look for them together?” I suggested. “Ah’m with ya.” She replied. “Good!” Twilight said. “Okay, let’s move on to the next stage, shall we?” So we made our exit and went to our next destination: the Park.
-----
It was already 10:00 in the morning. One hour has passed, and so much actions has occurred. My life is getting short. As we reached the park, I felt the same peace everytime I went here. But now it’s mixed with the danger I’m in. I mean, saving the world from a foe I don’t even know?! What kind of life was that? “What’s next?” Twilight asked me. “Okay, let’s split. Twilight, you go look for anyone in that playground. Applejack, look for anyone there in the central park. I’ll look in the forest nearby. I’m the only one who knows that place, so you know how it goes.” After that, we didn’t waste any time. As I reached the forest, I heard the jungle beat. Birds chirping, Snakes crawling, I know this was a dangerous forest. But you may never know. Maybe one friend of twilight may be here. I worked my way to the forest. I spent half an hour there, roaming everything but achieving nothing. Maybe she wasn’t here. I wonder how the other two are doing. As I walked, I stumble from a twig. I wiped the dirt from my legs. That was the 32nd time it happened since I came here. After minutes of walking aimlessly from the forest, I heard a shriek from afar. I quickly dashed there and saw a girl about the age of 15 with a plain dress, pink hair, and a scared face. As she saw me, she quickly ran away, but as she did so, she limped. I noticed her wounded leg. She must’ve stumbled in a twig like me. She stumbled again. “Are you hurt?” I asked her. What kind of question was that!? “Come on. Let me help you.” She freaked some more and tried to ran away, but then her foot became stuck from the mud. “Aw come on! Do I even look evil?” She wasn’t still in peace. She tried to get away but her leg was stuck real good. I went near her, making her freak like I’m a ghost. As I sat near her wounded leg. She suddenly fainted. Whoah. This girl was a scardy pants. Oh well. I got the alchohol in my bag and started to spill it in her wound to wash any germs. That might’ve hurt if she were awake. So good thing she fainted, or else I’ll scare the living daylights out of her. Since I didn’t have any band-aids, I just used the handkerchief from my bag. I tied a knot gently, making sure that it wasn’t so tight. Then, I gently took her foot out of the mud and carried her. I noticed how light she was, making my job easier. I should still look for twilight’s friends, but my priority now was to bring her out of the forest. I walked gently, careful not to trip. If I trip, she’ll join my demise. It took minutes until I successfully got out. I saw Twilight and Applejack sitting on a bench. “Hey! Where had ya been?” Applejack asked. “No time to explain. Can you please give this girl some space? She’s wounded.” They got out of the bench. I gently laid her there. “Who’s that?” Twilight asked. “I have no idea. I saw her on the forest in this state. She freaked out so much in seeing me that she fainted. I already gave her some first aid on her wound in her leg. But I guess that would be enough.” I replied. “She looks kinda familiar to me.” Applejack said. Twilight nodded. They thought about it for a minute and ao when they suddenly said in unison, “Fluttershy!” The girl woke up slowly. As soon as she saw us, she freaked out. “Fluttershy, it’s us, twilight and applejack, see?” Twilight said as she pointed to her and Applejack. “Is that really you?” She said, with a trace of fear in her voice. “We sure are, sugarcube.” Fluttershy quickly grabbed the two and hugged them firmly. “Oh! I miss you both!” I was touched by their lovely reunion. As soon that Fluttershy saw me, she freaked out and hid behind applejack. Twilight started. “It’s all right, Fluttershy. He’s a friend. Fluttershy, meet Neil. Neil, meet Fluttershy.” She was still hesitant to go near me. But I didn’t mind. “Well.” Twilight said. “Good thing you were kind enough to help a stranger.” “Nah.” I said. “It’s my attitude to do those sort of things.” “I say my thanks on behalf of Fluttershy” She replied. “No need for that.” I said. “So, what now?” Applejack asked. I thought for a while. “Well, we’re of to a good start. According to what I know, There are three left to find.” Fluttershy was now a little confident to ask me. “Um, co…could I ask where are the others?” “Well, I don’t know for sure. They must be wandering around right now. But don’t worry, we’ll find them. Now I’m going to give you some time to recoil yourselves.” I said cheerfully. I then went out from the group. I could hear them talking about things and so, but I didn’t mind. I sat on a bench far away and thought on where we would look next. We’re done at the plaza, the park, and the forest.
-----
It was already 11:00 am, and we hadn’t eaten anything. So I decided to bring them in my house for breakfast, or maybe lunch. I also needed to get the city map to know where to go next. My parents must’ve thought that I’m in some overnight in school, and they may have went somewhere, so there was no one in the house. If my parents knew that I was bringing girls in the house, that would be trouble. So I then left the bench and approached them. “Well ladies, talk time’s over. I guess you must be starving right now. Why don’t we eat some breakfast in my house. I also need to get the city map to have a more wider plan on what to do next. ” They all nodded in agreement. So we then started to walk going home. We still passed alleys and secret passageways. Me and twilight still needed to hide from the tower incident. I still don’t want to catch any more attention. It was hard for Fluttershy. She was constantly scared at the place. Applejack’s assisting her, while twilight was thinking of something. We continued our way with stealth. As we finally reached my house, the windows and curtains where closed. That should mean that my parents were not there. “Come on, now” I said to them. As I opened the front door, the whole place was dark. Even in broad daylight, the thick curtains of my house kept any light from the outside from coming in. “Go in carefully. Don’t trip youtselves.” I couldn’t leave them outside. Someone might spot them. As the door closed, the whole place was engulfed by darkness. As I reached the lights, it didn’t turn on. I know there was electricity, but maybe the lights were busted. I carefully navigated my way through the curtains, but I stumbled from a chair. “Are ya okay?” Applejack shouted. “Yes!” I replied. My knees were aching, but I didn’t mind them. As I opened the curtains, it was locked shut. “What? Can curtains even lock?” I shouted. My parents must have thought that I wasn’t coming home today, so they might have secured the place tight. The only way now was to get the spare bulb and replace the busted one. “You need any help?” Twilight shouted. “Yes I need. I need you to help me replace the busted bulb.” I said. “But how could we help?” Fluttershy asked. “You try to get the spare bulb. I’m going to grab a ladder.” I instructed. “Where’s the closet you’re talking about?” Twilight asked. “Just go straight. If you touch the wall, turn right. Then, turn left. You’ll be in the kitchen. Then, walk straight. If you feel the fridge, look at it’s left side. There’s a box there. Inside that box are spare bulbs. Just get one.” I said. Fluttershy decided to stay on one corner. So then the others started doing their job. We moved slowly, careful not to trip. But after a few seconds, I felt something crawl in my feet. My eye twitched. Then I heard some shrieks. It came from the girls. “Cockroaches!” They shouted at unison. They were like, freaked, when they felt some cockroaches crawled on their feet. They must’ve froze in their place. I must quickly think of a way to give them confidence and not mind the cockroaches. I heard stomping on the ground. They were trying to kill it. “Don’t mind them!” I shouted at them. “Don’t mind them? They’re all over the place! I aint lettin’ them destroy mah concentration.” Applejack responded. What’s a way to give them some courage and not mind those creatures? Then I had another brilliant idea. It may sound funny, but again, there was no other way. I laughed at them. “What are you laghing about?” Twilight said in surprise. “Oh come on! Your much bigger than them yet you being scared? They should be laughing at you at this time.” I said with a little hint of laughter. “So what? We should laugh at them?” Twilight replied. “Exactly! They can’t hurt you. But if you don’t have self confidence, well laugh! Lauging gives you confidence to face the dangers and carry on.” I lectured. “We’re gonna try.” Applejack replied. I tried to give them a tip. “Try to think all the funny things you remember.” A little later, They started laughing and telling each other funny things. They did it as they walked going to the kitchen. I also laughed, all to blame is the things that was happening right now. I also tried to remember the jokes in te joke book I read that made me laugh. We laughed while doing our jobs. I could hear fluttershy joining our laughs. We successfully change the bulb and turned on the light. “Great job, everyone!” I congratulated them. I gave them time to talk while I prepared some food and got the map. I set out some bread and peanut butter. I also prepared hot choco for everyone. I set it out on the living room as I got the maps. I was suspicious about the cockroaches, for they misteriously disappeared as the lights went on. But nevermind about that. As I scanned the map, there was a knock on the door. It wasn’t my parents. I could tell, for there was no engine noises outside. They usually use the car to go to places, so I did not hesitate to open the door. I first opened a small creak yo check who was knocking the door. It was a girl about the age of 13-14 years old. She had curly pink hair and was wearing a lively pink dress. She had a big smile on her face. As I fully opened the door, she started her introductions. “Hey I’m Pinkie Pie! I was strolling down on this street for I am lost. Wow, Did you ever get lost? Did you? Did you? I had friends who got lost to, so I’m also looking for them. I happened to knock for I heard laughing inside this house. What a great place! But I think yours is the best yet! My, my, what a lovely house! Man, I am starving! Do you know how I’ve been walking? It was like, forever! Hey, do you have any food in there? Can I eat some?” She said rapidly. I had a hard time catching up with her. She was so fast, the only sentence I heard was “Can I eat some?”.Well, I couldn’t be disrespectful. “Okay, come in. There’s some bread, peanut butter and some hot choco. Eat at your hearts contents.” I said, still confused by the speed of her words. She didn’t say anything next. She quickly dashed inside my house. Guess she must be really hungry. I also followed her. The other girls might be scared of her. As I reached the living room, she seated with besides twilight. She was surprised by the visitor. The visitor saw twilight’s impression, so she got a bread, spreaded it with peanut butter, and gave it to her, saying, “Here you go, twilight.” Twilight was more surprised, and so was I. How did she know twilight’s name? “Bu…but how…” Twilight asked in confusion. Both applejack and fluttershy also stared in disbelief. “It’s easy, silly. your hair’s violet.” She said cheerfully. “Is that you, pinkie?” Applejack asked. Pinkie nodded, while eating her peanut butter bread. Twilight, applejuck and fluttershy came to her and hugged her tightly. “Pinkie pie, we missed you!” Fluttershy said with tears in her eyes. “I miss you all to.” She replied. Awww… another beautiful reunion. I quietly left them and went to my room to get the map. As I went to the living room, they were having a good time talking to each other. “Awww, what a beautiful reunion. I’m sorry to break it if I say that we’re still down with three and we need to find two more.” I reminded. I set out the map to the floor. It showed a bird’s view of the place. I got a marker and started. “So, we’re done with the plaza.” I encircled the whole plaza area. “Then, we finished the park.” I next encircled the whole park, including the forest. “After that, we also went to this neighborhood.” Then I encircled my house and some other surrounding areas. “What’s next?” Twilight asked. I thought for a while. We could go to the school, the market, the town hall or the outskirts of town. The other places seemed unreasonable to me. “Okay team, I’ve got a plan.” I started. “We’re going to split into two teams for a faster accomplishment.” I looked them eye to eye. Then I chose the teams. “Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. You look in the outskirts and the Town hall. Me and Twilight will look at the Market and the school.” I waited for an objection, but I got none. I went to the room to find another map. I found one, and gave it to Applejack. She seemed dependable. “Okay. I want everyone to meet at the fountain in the park this 1:00 in the afternoon. It was already 12:00, so every team had 1 hour. I prepared each one of us lunch consisting of homemade burger, then we all went outside together. “Do your best!” I said to Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. They waved their hands as they went farther away from us. “Where to?” Twilight asked. “To the market!” I replied.
-----
We reached the ever busy market. There were people shoping for things and so. If anyone from another place were in this town, they’d be here. I got my wallet from my pocket and counted the money I had. They were my life savings, collected from the sweat and blood from sacrificing to not eat in reccess just to have this money. I started this when I first went to school in kindergarten. I knew I would never spend it here. That money was intented for me to buy a telescope. I put it back my pocket, resisting the temptation of buying anything here, however nice the items might be. “Come on!” I shouted at twilight. She was bedazzled at the crowds. I took her hand and started dragging her to come with me. After minutes of talking, we started a conversation. “Hey twilight.” I started. “What’s the name and the most probable appearance of your left friends? I might need them.” “Um…Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Rarity is glamourous. She’s beautiful, and she has a wonderfully done hair. Rainbow Dash is quite tomboyish. She’s got a rainbow colored hair.” I got that information and tried to store it in my brain. I may really need it. Now is the time I use the same thing I’ve been using for the whole time: divide and conquer. I told her to look at the northern part of the market, while I look at the southern part. We parted ways, and tried to find some data. It was still hard to resist the temptetion of buying, but I was strong willed. I’m not going to break. So I continued. The scene looked exactly like on the plaza. I kept walking, and walking, and walking. I wondered how the others were doing. Why am I even doing this. It seemed all useless for me to help them in their quest. I have assignments and such in school. No! I shall finish this quest, whatever it takes. I gave my word, and that’s all to say. As I walked by a store, I happened to notice in the window of a particular store. the “Store of complete science tools and kits”. I was kinda turned on by this. It had a promo. They are selling the all new “Hyperscope”. My eyes glared with exitement. This was the thing I was saving for. I saw the “Today only” sign promo. The price just fitted my money perfectly, and I had a smile that reached my ears. I was hypnotized by this. This is the day I have been waiting for. I wanted to go in, to spend all my money to get that telescope. I saw it’s nifty features. High magnification resolutions, high quality zooming, auto-rotate and many more. I touched my wallet. I counted my money to make sure it was enough. My money left was the same as the price. Suspicious. My eye twitched. But I didn’t care. Now’s the time. It’s now or never. I was about to go in, when someone caught my attention. It was a girl of age somewhere 14 to 15. She was wearing a tattered dress. She seemed hungry, and lost. Her purple hair was rugged up, which means she was treated no good. I wanted to help her, buy her new clothes, let her eat some food, but my money was intented for the Hyperscope. Now there was an internal struggle inside me. Should I buy the hyperscope, or should I help the girl. What do I earn. If I buy the Hyperscope, I would learn so much about outer space. If I help the girl, well I only earned nothing. But then I shortened my first question with a very convincing derivative: Will I help myself or others? Something clicked inside of me. It was that “help everyone” atitude. I never thought I would use my money for this, but at least it was a noble cause. I checked my wallet and said silently, “I wish this isn’t a wrond decision”. I went near the girl. “Um, are you fine?” I asked. She looked at me gloomly. I took that as a no. Here I go. “I want to help you. You seem distressed and rugged, why don’t we try to fix that, ay?” I asked. She was in doubt at first, but later she accepted the offer. I brought her to a spa to fix her hair, face, and anything that’s not in shape. Then I brought her to a bazzar to get her a new dress. It finished every last drop of money I had. After that, she looked beautiful. She was like a shining star. She had a smile in her face. “Thank you, dear sir for your generosity. I gladly wish I could repay you.” She said with grace. I smiled. “You know, that’s not neccesary. I just want to help, that’s all. You look hungry, why don’t you have have some lunch?” I said it with a fake smile. I got my lunch and gave it to her. “I guess you’re hungry. You’ll need this more than me. I had a big breakfast.” She looked at me worriedly, but then she returned my smile. That was enough for me. “Hey, wont you mind to join me to look for some friends?” I asked. “Oh, it’s alright. It’s the least I could do.” We both went to the northern part of the market to look for twilight. I need to introduce her to twilight. She didn’t speak the whole time. She was kinda shaken. It took us some time until we saw her. She was inside a bookstore, looking at the magnificent books. What?! I was doing my best looking for her friends while she was just here in this bookstore!? We went inside the store. I tapped twilight’s shoulder and said “Ehem”. She looked at me, surprised. She smiled and said, “Yes? what do you need?” I looked at her seriously until she felt sorry for herself. “Okay, I’m sorry. Hey, who’s she?” She asked. I explained the things that happened back there, from the hyperscope to the bazzar. After that, I asked her a question. “Won’t you mind for her to join us look for your friends?” “Oh, sure! Why not?” She said with approval. Then I remembered I didn’t know her name. “Um, is it alright to know your name?” I asked politely. “Oh sure darling. I’m Rarity.” I and Twilight’s eyes widened. There was a smile in twilight’s face, while I had a “what the heck?” face. “Oh rarity! I miss you so much. It’s me, twilight!” Twilight said rejoicing. “Twilight? Is that really you?” Rarity said in delight. Then they continued hugging. Another wonderful reunion. Why did I not notice she was a friend of Twilight?! Do I have an eye problem? But enough of that. “Twi, go bring her to the others. In my calculations, they’re in the town hall.” I gave her the map. “Use it. Now go! And don’t worry. Give me 1 more hour, okay? I’ll be there at 2:00 in the afternoon.” “Bu…but…” She tried to reason. “No. Don’t worry. Your last friend is rainbow dash. If her hair is rainbow, she’s the one.” She smiled back, then left with rarity. I saw them get smaller and smaller while getting farther, until they were out of sight.
