//------------------------------// // Greater Destiny // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Celestia's eyes opened up. She wasn't in the nursing room anymore. Instead, she was in this weird space where there was an endless flow of aether and cosmic energy flowing everywhere. "Where am I?" She looked around, clueless. The entire area resembled her mane actually. "This is your Mindscape Celestia." A voice said to her. From what she saw, it was Twilight. "Twilight? Why are you here? And what do you mean by Mindscape?" "I'm not Twilight. I'm just taking on the form of one of the many beings you've loved throughout your life. My true form cannot be seen by any lifeform." "Who are you?" "Think of me as the opposite of the Rift." "Opposite? How so?" "Well. The Rift crosses worlds over and mixes things up. I, on the other hand, travel through worlds, guiding and speaking to others. Right now, you're in your mind. But, you are still on the bed, asleep in the outside world though." "So the injury is still there I see. But what is there to see in my mind? Why am I here?" "You said that foresaw a great disaster in your dream. That disaster ended up being Ghetsis, who'll soon conquer your entire world." "Yes. And it seems that I was right on that. I should've prepared more." "Right for the first half." "First half?" Celestia tilted her head. "Ghetsis is only the first half of the disaster. There will be others that come along. He's just the first of many." "Others?! Then that means more will come up and cause major trouble for all of Equestria." "Right you are. This great disaster is caused by multiple people and ponies. It keeps piling on." "Like an endless sea of chaos..." "On the nose, Princess. Follow me." The entity led Celestia further within her mind as its appearance then changed to Starswirl the Bearded along with the voice matching the unicorn wizard. "You came here based on your own will." "My own will? But how is that possible? I was unconscious." "Normally, even you wouldn't be able to do it despite your vast knowledge of magic. But what caused this was your Kirlia." "Passion? How could she have done this?" "Your Kirlia tapped into its psychic prowess, causing you to enter your own mind without even realising. Being the Emotion Pokemon, it is capable of exerting high amounts of power by feelings alone. Pokemon are powerful like that." "I see. So what did you want to show me again?" "Oh right! I wanted to show you this." The entity pointed towards what seemed to be Celestia's, Cutie Mark. Floating there in the endless Mindscape. "My Cutie Mark?" "You see Celestia, your destiny isn't or yet. "What do you mean?" "There's something within you that has yet to be awoken. There is a reason why you became an alicorn." "Something within me? I thought I already reached my destiny once I got my Cutie Mark and became ruler." "Yes, you did. In the original timeline, but not this one. Get closer if you want." Celestia walked towards her Cutie Mark. Once she got closer she could feel an unexplained flow of energy within her. "What is this magic?" She felt perplexed as her body was quivering. "Oh, this is beyond magic. Go ahead." Celestia walked towards her Cutie Mark as the last thing she saw was a bright flash of cosmic lights. She returned to reality, regaining consciousness as she gasped. The doctors turned towards her. "Princess Celestia! You're awake!" "I am." She looked at herself. The hole was still there but it wasn't hurting as much anymore. Still stung horribly though. "Please, Princess. We urge you to stay in bed. Your wound still hasn't healed yet." The doctor said. "I will. Thank you. I have a question to ask actually. How is the kingdom fairing right now." "The kingdom? Well, your sister has temporarily taken charge. It's been 10 hours right now." "I see. Luna must be worried sick. I hope she's not struggling too much." Celestia then thought of something else. Remembering a particular Pokemon. "Wait. Where's Cobalion?!" "Um. I'm afraid I do not know who that is, Princess." Celestia held her head as she tried to get out of bed, but the nurses had stopped her. "Princess please, it is too dangerous for you to be moving around so much in your condition." The doctor was right. Moving a lot caused a huge strain on her as the wound made the pain worse. "I have to make sure that he's okay. What if he went to Ghetsis again?!" Celestia put her hooves on her stomach, trying to ignore the pain. She then laid back on the bed. "Please be safe Cobalion." And what of Cobalion? He brought along the other Swords of Justice with him. They were making their way towards Saddle-Arabia, this time Cobalion knew the way. "You sounded very serious about this Cobalion. How bad is it?" Keldeo asked. "Very. If we don't do something, this world will fall victim to an undeserving rule." "If even the ruler, Princess Celestia couldn't do anything, then we should give it our all for this," Virizion commented. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's pick up the pace!" Terrakion bellowed. After a few minutes of running, they finally reached their destination. And they were met with something new. Ghetsis had changed up Saddle-Arabia, just like how he changed its name to the Harmonia Kingdom. The entire place was heavily fortified as if they were in the process of making a castle. And the ponies were doing all the hard work, building this soon to be a castle. "How horrible." Virizion looked over the ponies who were forced to work under the watch of Ghetsis and his grunts. "I say we bring it down!" Terrakion said. The Cavern Pokemon charged in headfirst but was stopped by an energy barrier, pushing him back. "What is this?!" "Hm-hm. As expected." Colress's voice came from inside the kingdom. "I expected some buffoon to charge in here, so I put up a defensive barrier. Tough luck." "So they've blocked our way in. Now, what do we do?" Keldeo asked. "Nothing we can do right now. Maybe not today, but we have to find a way somehow." Cobalion responded. "Right now, we're useless against something like this. Unless we get some help." Back at Canterlot, Celestia was thinking about what happened in her mind. Seeing her Cutie Mark and that flash of light. What did that entity mean by greater destiny? The doctors had given her some food, only from the best chefs in Canterlot of course. As she sat in the bed, eating away at her food, Passion entered the room, seeing her trainer awake. "Oh. Hello Passion." Passion's eyes lit up with joy. Her trainer was still here and alive as she leapt up, hugging her. With all of that joy filling her up with so much joy that her psychic power was rising up again. Celestia put her hoof on her Pokemon, calming her down. "Slow down there, Passion. You do some bizarre things when you feel tons of emotion." "Kirli." "Sorry for worrying you." Celestia petted her head. Passion then teleported in and out of the nursing room, bring Celestia something. "Oh? What's this?" Passion had lent Celestia a Get Well Soon necklace. She placed it around her trainer's neck with Psychic. Celestia felt touched by this. This one moment made her realise just how much Passion loves her. Another example of a trainer and Pokemon bonding deeply. One day has passed. Ponyville was active again even if they were still sad about what happened to Celestia. Twilight, on the other hand, was researching information on Hydreigon, trying to find out more about it so that it'll be easier to defeat in the future. But she wasn't really getting anywhere. Mostly because Hydregion isn't a Pokemon with a ton of information on it due to how rare they are. The only major information she's gonna get is through the Pokedex. "No good. None of these books from Canalave Library are helpful. The only stuff I know about Hydregion is that its smaller heads don't have brains and it attacks anything within its line of sight." "Twilight. Maybe you shouldn't be thinking too hard about this dragon. What if that... thing pops up again." Spike said. "What thing?" "Well.. yesterday, there was this weird magic that popped up out of you. Your entire appearance changed, your voice was different, it was kinda scary actually." "I was huh? Weird. I don't remember it... but I can feel it. Now that I think about it, Princess Luna had something similar to what you're describing Spike." "You don't think it could be... NIGHTMARE MOON?!" Spike grabbed a pillow, hugging it. "What? No, no. But it had a similar magic feeling to it. Her appearance wasn't similar to that of Nightmare Moon at all. Maybe it's a new persona." Twilight speculated. "Is it worse than Nightmare Moon?!" "I don't think so. If it was, then we'd be living in eternal night forever. Seems like she has this one under control, so maybe it's nothing to worry about." "Guess so. Oh by the way Twilight. Have you heard?" "Heard what?" "They're bringing over a Pokemon lab here to Eque-" Spike was stopped as Twilight zipped over to him. "WHERE?! WHEN?!" "Uh... I don't know where it's gonna be but it'll be done in 2 weeks." "2 weeks huh? That's a good time. That way I won't have to keep jumping from gateway to gateway just to get more information about Pokemon. Talk about quality of life." Meanwhile, on the outside, Rainbow Dash asked Ash to train her. She had a feeling that if she ever comes across Ghetsis and her Hydregion, she'll be strong enough with her Pokemon. "Alright, Rainbow Dash. You ready?" "Pika?" "Always!" She responded. Scootaloo and some other ponies had sat down to see this small training session. "Okay then. Gengar, you're up!" Ash tossed Gengar out. "Gen!" "Whirlipede! GO!" For Rainbow Dash it was Whirlipede. "Do you wanna make the first move?" Ash asked. "Yeah! Getting the first hit in is my persona favorite! Whirlipede! Rollout!" Whirlipede starting picking up speed on a single spot as it dashed towards Gengar. "Okay then. Gengar! Phase through!" Gengar had used its intangibility to its advantage, making Whirlipede go straight through it. "Now Shadow Ball!" Gengar had hit Whirlipede from behind with a Shadow Ball, dealing major damage. "Oh no, Whirlipede!" Whirlipede was already feeling queasy from the attack. "Come on! Faster!" Scootaloo yelled wanting this battle to pick up. "Use Pin Missile!" Whirlipede fired pins towards the Ghost-Type. "Dodge it and use Ice Punch!" Gengar zipped past the pins as it struck an icy hit on Whirlipede, making it faint. "That's one down." "Aw! Return Whirlipede." Rainbow Dash sent it back to its Pokeball. "I should've seen this coming. You're a Champion and long-lasting trainer, after all, Ash." "Don't worry about it. You can still grow even if you're facing someone leagues above you. But I guess I kinda get too into the battle at times, even if it someone weaker than me, huh?" "Pika-Pikachu." "Tell ya what. You can battle Riolu. He's still pretty young and new so he's a perfect training partner." Ash sent out Riolu. "Rio!" "That's true. And this time I know my Type matchups. So Braviary's gonna win this no matter what!" Rainbow Dash sent out her Braviary, ready to go. "Use Aerial Ace!" The Valiant Pokemon took off from the skies, leaving a huge gust of wind behind. This even blew away the ponies, showing how strong Braviary is ever since it evolved. Ash on the other hand wasn't bothered. "Double Team!" Riolu made afterimages of itself, making Braviary hit nothing but a mirage. "Now strike Braviary's back!" Riolu jumped up, striking Braviary's back. This didn't do much damage at all, but it was still a hit. "How the?! I thought Fighting-Types have no effect on Flying-Types!" Rainbow was confused. "Just because they're weak to them, doesn't mean that they can't hit them. You just gotta take advantage of certain situations." Ash gave her a small lesson. "Oh yeah? Brave Bird!" Braviary was engulfed in brave energy as he flew towards Riolu. "Use Vacuum Wave to launch yourself up!" Riolu hit the ground with Vacuum Wave, sending it upwards as it avoided Braviary. "Oooh." The ponies looked up in the sky. "Follow after him and keep attacking!" Braviary turned around, flying up at the Emanation Pokemon. "Grab Braviary!" Riolu then suddenly grabbed Braviary by its wings, holding on. Rainbow Dash was taken aback. She didn't expect something like this to happen. "No way! Shake him off!" Braviary spun around, sending Riolu back down. "Alright, return Riolu." Ash sent Riolu back to him. "Now! Pikachu! Go!" "Pika!" It was Pikachu's turn now. "Heh. I've got something for Pikachu. I taught Braviary some new moves. So it isn't just limited to Flying moves. Use Superpower!" Braviary's new move came into play. It created a great power that enveloped its talons and wings. "Iron Tail!" Pikachu ran forward, using Iron Tail. Braviary's wings met with Pikachu's tail as they both clashed, causing a wind pressure to kick up. Pikachu proved to be stronger as he pushed Braviary back. "Brav!" The Valiant Pokemon cried out. "Fine then! Keep your distance with Air Slash!" Braviary sent slashing waves of wind towards Pikachu, pushing him back a small bit. "Thunderbolt!" Pikachu quickly retaliated by sending a bolt of lightning which struck Braviary, point-blank. The Valiant Pokemon felt the shock as it had fainted. "Oh seriously?! Should've seen it coming though." Rainbow Dash returned Braviary. "Still wanna keep on going, Dash?" "Pika?" "Nah. I think here's a good spot to stop. You're too strong for me Ash. But I got some good training out of this though." "You're welcome. Hope you get stronger and stronger." Ash gave a thumbs up. "That was a great battle, you two! So awesome! I can't wait for my own major Pokemon Battle!" Scootaloo said, jumping up, almost flying for a bit. "Thanks, Scootaloo. By the way, have you caught any other Pokemon?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Well... no, not really. I only have Ponyta with me. And I don't even own any Pokeballs." "I'll hook you up with some. Professor Cerise would l-" Just then, before Ash could finish his sentence, Fluttershy came flying here, with a worried look on her face. "Fluttershy? What's wrong?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Come quick! It's the Pokemon! Something's wrong with them!" "What? What is it?" "Their bodies are..." Chapter 70 End!
