Outside in front of the school next to the statue, the main 6 and Tom Majors are explaining to Sunset how to play the game with some of their cards. "Ok Sunset there are 5 types of cards in chaotic, Attacks, Battlegear, Creatures, Locations & Mugic." Tom tells her.
Twilight steps and holds a creature card "Creatures are the monsters of the game, each creature has their own strengths and weaknesses like their disciplines, elements & special ability."
Applejack wraps an arm around Sunset, "there are 4 types of disciplines, Courage shows how brave this creature is, Power shows how strong it is, Wisdom how smart it is and Speed for fast it is", She said and showed her the stat with her creature but her creature brown and looks like an ant.
Twilight held up her creature card and continued. "Next are the elements," She pointed to four symbols on her card. "A creature can use up to one or four of these elements, fire, air, earth, and water."
Pinkie pushes her creature that color yellow and looks like a lizard in front of Sunset's face. "And last, each creature has their own special ability that can help them get out of a tied spot or to give them an edge, Like how this one has the power of Invisibility that can...". Pinkie keeps talking until Sunset pushes the card off her face. "Oh sorry Sunny," Pinkie apologized.
Tom puts six cards in an inverted triangle line, "Ok Sunset in a battlefront you set your creatures pyramid in a shape form, depends on what the battle it can be a one on one, three on three or six on six, as long your team is in triangle line you can play up to ten or higher, but I just stick to six and three." Tom said in a nervous smile.
Rainbow Dash steps in and speaks, "And your opponent will do the same." She says as she puts six creature cards that are red and that look like monsters like, "To win you need to beat all your opponent creatures."
"Any question so far Sunset?" Twilight asks hers.
"Well I do have one," She says as she holds two of Rainbow and Tom creature cards. "Why do some of your creatures have different colors?"
Pinkie speaks up, "Oh that because the creatures are from different tribes silly."
Tom continues, "In chaotic, there are four tribes each one with their own advantages and disadvantages, Overworld, Underworld, Danian & Mipedian."
Rainbow Dash spoke, "Yeah the Mipedians are the lame lizard creatures, Danians are there creepy bugs thing, Overworlders are the goodie, goodie animal guys and the best out of all of them is the Underworld." She continued "They are tough, ruthless and do whatever it takes to win."
"Yeah, you mean like steppin' on their own people to do so." Applejack crossing her arms, "Danians are one of the strongest included when they work together as a family."
Rarity giggled, "No offense darling, but if any tribe that really works together and helps one and other are the Overworlders."
"Yeah almost all of them are wise, brave, and more passing than any tribe," Twilight said.
"Hey Mipedians are great too, they all have the ability to turn Invisible," Pinkie pointed out.
"Yeah, so they can fight other creatures like a coward," Applejack said.
"Oh yeah like your Danians are better, They turn other creatures into them!" Rainbow remarked.
"Hey, Underworlders are the real bad guys!" Applejack calls out
"Seriously girls, Me, Twilight, and Fluttershy who know that the overworld is the good guys," Rarity said.
"Well, I think the other tribes are fine just the way they are," Fluttershy said quietly.
The girls started arguing on which tribe is best until Tom cleared his throat getting the girls' attention. The girls look at their friends looking at them with smirking and each of the girls feeling embarrassed about how they act. "Sorry, Tom and Sunset, We kind when overboard," Twilight said, still blushing in embarrassment.
Tom chuckled, "Don't worry, sometimes these kinds of things happen to chaotic players."
"Still I have seen you girls fight like that since the battle of the bands," Sunset said with a grin.
The group continues to explain each of the different cards to Sunset, like how Attack cards are how creatures do damage to one and other, how you can have 20 in your attack deck also how if your creatures have the right element for the attack card it will deal heavy damage. Battlegear cards can be equipped on your creatures to make them stronger and boost their ability. Location cards are where the creatures battle and how the location has effects of their own. Last is the Mugic cards, the magic of the game that can change the battle and there are different mugic for each tribe and can only be used by that tribe with another one for call generic that can be used by any creature.
Tom finishes then ask Sunset "Ok Sunset you think you got all the cards type?"
"Yeah I think I do," She replied.
"Great now to show you how to play the game" Twilight answered.
"Yeah, hey Rainbow Dash can we use your Underworld deck," Tom asked.
"Fine" Rainbow answered as she put her cards in an inverted triangle line against the other six creature cards.
"To start the player how the turn is to attack, choose a location from the location deck." Twilight said as she flipped a card to reveal 'Kiru City'.
Fluttershy continue "Next the attack player choose which creatures to fight like 'Frafdo attacks Toxis.'" She then looks to everyone "If that ok with everyone?" Everyone nodded.
"Now then, The creature that has the right initiative gets to attack first, And it looks Frafdo go first." Applejack said pointed at the two creatures.
Rarity drew a card from the attack deck and spoke "Next drew an attack card, choose which of the three, and Frafdo attack Toxis with RipTide, deal 10 damage".
"Thanks to Liquilizer, Frafdo can do water attacks," Tom explained.
Rainbow Dash draws and said "Ok Toxis attack with Torrent of Flame and with the Viledriver deal 15 damage."
"But don't forget Dashie, Toxis ability Recklessness dealt him 5 damage" Pinkie reminded Rainbow Dash who frowned.
Sunset looked confused "Wait, I thought ability was support to help creatures?"
"Yeah sometimes they can and sometimes it will hurt the creature" Tom explained.
Sunset nodded as Rainbow spoke, "Anywhen it time to play some Mugic." Pinkie left to get her instrument until Applejack caught her leg stopping her "I say Mugic, not music." Rainbow told her and Pinkie giggling in embarrassment.
Rainbow Dash puts down a card 'Canon of Casualty' and removes what looks like a counter from Toxis.
"This deal Frafdo 20 damage." Rainbow Dash cheer.
Tom put out a card "Fine then I use 'Song of Resurgence' to heal him."
"Wait" Sunset shouted, "Frafdo don't have any mugic counter."
Tom explained "Yeah but the best part of having creatures on your side, you can use your other team counter like 'Vidav'" He then removes one of Vidav's mugic counter to play Song of Resurgence.
The other kept using attack cards until Frafdo energy went to zero.
"After the creature is defeat, the victor creature moves to its space." Twilight said as move Toxis "And you move any of your other team to any free space once."
"And this will be your opponent's turn, and y'all keep doing it until you beat your opponent's whole team." Applejack finish.
"Wait so we are not going to even finish the game," Rainbow Dash asked.
"Sorry RD, this was just to show Sunset how the game works," Tom answered.
Twilight then asks Sunset "So you think you understand the game now?"
"Yeah but I just have one question." She pauses and the group all look at her "When do I get my own cards?"
Tom stood up "There is an old shop near here that still sells some chaotic cards, I can take you there."
"Great." Sunset cheered.
Late in the afternoon and each of the girls heads back home only leaving Sunset and Tom to go to the shop. The store had a sign that said 'Gamer World' and in the window, there were different types of trading cards. Tom and Sunset enter the shop, seeing all the cards until they hear a loud voice.
"Oh Come On!"
"Is that the storekeeper?" Sunset asked as she covered her ears.
"No, probably some other players, sometimes the keeper lets other people play some card games," Tom told her as they walked up to the source. They saw two people at the table setting and it looked like they were playing chaotic. One of them is a bulky blonde hair boy and the other one is a messy green hair girl wearing a sweater.
"Wait is that, Wallflower!" Sunset remembers her friend Wallflower Blush from the memory stone event.
"Aaahh!... I was close to winning but you just had to put out that Mugic card" The boy shouted to Wallflower.
Wallflower was trembling at him "I...I...I J-just use the right card at the right time."
The boy didn't care; he threw her cards out of the table and got ready to punch her but was stopped by Tom who grabbed his hand.
Tom angry looked at the boy. "Look a lost is a lost there no need to..." He got a good look at the boy and his eyes widened as he spoke "Tank?!"
The boy who calls Tank looks at Tom and says "MajorTom?"
The two girls looked confused until Sunset asked "Tom do you know him?"
"Yeah, this Tank we play chaotic online, his screen name is Agro999." Tom then turned to Tank "I didn't know you live here."
"So MajorTom this is where you be hired." Tank said as he smirks, "I having seen you in chaotic for a long time, I thought you finally chicken out."
Tom glared at him but Sunset put her hand on his shoulder. "Look I don't know what your problem is, but stop act like a baby" Sunset then glared.
Tank looked at her angry and pulled her off to leave "Whatever I don't need this." He then slammed the front door.
Sunset then bent down to Wallflower "Hey, need some help?" Wallflower smiled a little and nodded and Sunset helped get all her cards. "So you play chaotic?"
"Yeah play sometime, mostly online" Wallflower said.
"Oh, my '' Stepping out the other room is an old man in his early 50's wearing an old-fashioned dull red military cap, with a yellow bandana and white coat. "What all the noise?" He asked.
"Oh hey, Mr. Keeper, Sorry one of the customers was being a problem," Tom told him.
The Keeper giggling "Ah Tom good to see you, come for some new cards" He then saw Sunset still help Wallflower "My, who is your lover friend?"
Sunset finishes helping Wallflower and walks up to them "My name is Sunset Shimmer." She shook his hand "I'm looking for my own chaotic cards."
"I see, come to the counter." three moves to the counter and the keeper moves behind it, pulling out four different color boxes. "Four starter decks from each of the different tribes, which one will you like, miss?"
Sunset chose the Underworld deck "great choice, Oh before I forget you will need this." He gave her a red device.
"what is it?" Sunset asked.
"It is a code scanner, It is a special tool that lets the player keep track of the creature's stats in the middle of a game and build a videophone to let you call other players." He answered her. She looks at it and then takes it.
Later Tom, Sunset also Wallflower left the store with her deck and scanner. inside the store, the keeper looks outside seeing Sunset and her friend leaving "What a nice girl you are Miss Shimmer, hope you have fun in chaotic."
