Turquoise was ready to check the Safari Zone while Rainbow took her turn to face Janine. Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack decided to watch. After arriving in front of the gate the warden which was an elderly man wearing a safari outfit was at the counter.

“ Welcome to the Safari Zone Miss. Are you here to play the Safari Game?” The warden asked.

“ I sure am,” Turquoise said.

“ Then allow me to explain the rules. First, you are not allowed to use your Pokemon. Second, you will have thirty minutes to explore and catch as many Pokemon as you can using these Safari Balls. The game will be over when either time runs out or you use up all your Safari Balls,” The warden explained as he gave Turquoise thirty Safari Balls. After paying the admittance fee Turquoise entered the Safari Zone ready to catch the first Pokemon that she sees. As she was walking she noticed a little cloud of white fluff resting on a tree branch and pulls out her Pokedex.

“ Swablu. The Cotton Bird Pokemon. For some reason, it likes to land on people's heads softly and act like it's a hat,” The Pokedex said which woke Swablu up. Swablu swooped down which confused Turquoise until she noticed the Swablu was now resting on her head. Turquoise pulled out one of her Safari balls and tapped it against the Swablu and after a few shakes, it clicked and then vanished.

“ That one was easy now, let's see what else I can find,” Turquoise said with determination. Turquoise kept walking and noticed a lake teeming with aquatic pokemon. “ I don’t think I caught any water-types yet. Turquoise pulled out what looked like a blue pen and uncapped it which allowed it to extend and turn into a custom fishing rod. After hooking the reel and threading the line through the loops along the rod Turquoise pulled out a lure that looked like a chibi version of Misty wearing a cape. “ Good thing I swung by that Fishing Shop in Cerulean City. After a few minutes of waiting Turquoise got a bite and after reeling it in there was a little blue serpent-like creature on the end of her line.

“ Let’s see what you are,” Turquoise said as she pulled out her Pokedex.

“ Dratini. The Dragon Pokemon. It grows by molting repeatedly. Boots made from the tanned cast-off skin are a super-luxury item,” The Pokedex said. After shaking off the line Dratini landed on the land and looked ready to go. Turquoise was about to grab one of her Pokeballs until she remembered the rules and instead pulled out some bait which Dratini wasted no time in eating. While it was eating Turquoise threw a Safari Ball at it which made contact and after a few shakes clicked shut and then vanished. Turquoise threw her line back in the water and then hooked what looked like a brown fish with darker brown specs and blue fins with cuts in them. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex again.

“ Feebas. The Fish Pokemon. Although unattractive and unpopular, this Pokémon's marvelous vitality has made it a subject of research,” The Pokedex said.

“ Unpopular or not that is an impressive size compared to the normal ones,” Turquoise said, comparing the information from her Pokedex to the Feebas that was bigger than the data she was provided. Turquoise threw another Safari Ball and after a few shakes, it clicked and then vanished.





Meanwhile back at Professor Oak’s Lab Professor Oak was busy with the two pokemon Turquoise already caught until the transporter went off again.

“ Another one? Turquoise must be on a hot streak at the Safari Zone,” Professor Oak said before the Safari Ball arrived. After checking the contents Professor Oak walked towards a fish tank and unleashed Turquosie’s Feebas. After seeing the Feebas Professor Oak was impressed by its size. “ Now this is what I call a great find especially with that Prism Scale it has. After putting Feebas back in its Safari ball Professor Oak along with Zoroark showed Turquoise’s new Pokemon around the habitat. Sometime later a man in his mid-twenties with black hair and zig-zags on his cheeks wearing an adult version of one of his previous trainer outfits and his official Pokemon League hat from when he was a kid along with his partner which was a yellow mouse with red cheeks and a thunderbolt shaped tail enter the habitat.

“ Long time no see Gary,” The man said to Professor Oak.

“ Ash? I wasn't expecting you. how are things at the Viridian City Gym?” Gary asked.

“ Pretty good Especially with my wife helping out,” Ash said.

“ Well in any case what brings you here?” Gary asked.

“ Some old foes from the past have managed to invade Saffron City and I have been traveling to all the Regions to gather all the Friends I made so we can take Saffron City back,” Ash said.

“ And you want me to join you in your mission, correct?” Gary asked.

“ We could use all the help we can get,” Ash said.

“ As much as I want to help take back Saffron City I’m afraid I can't. I have a responsibility to this lab,” Gary said.

“ I see well it was nice seeing you again,” Ash said before leaving.





Back with Turquoise who is wandering the rest of the Safari Zone, She enters the wetland area and notices a blob coming out of the wet part and pulls out her Pokedex.

“ Goomy. The Soft Tissue Pokemon. Because most of its body is water, it will dry up if the weather becomes too arid. It's considered the weakest dragon Pokémon,” The Pokedex said.

“ Weak or not I’m going for it,” Turquoise said as she threw a Safari ball at it. After shaking a few times it clicked and vanished. Before Turquoise could move on a buzzer went off indicating the game was over. After returning to the front desk and returning her remaining Safari Balls Turquoise decided to see what else she could do while waiting for her friends. After returning to the Pokemon Center Turquoise decided to call Professor Oak. After dialing the number Gary appeared on the screen.

“ Turquoise so good to see you again,” Gary said.

“ So good to see you too Professor Oak,” Turquoise said.

“ I assume you are calling to check on your new Pokemon?” Gary asked.

“ I am,” Turquoise said.

“ They all made it safely and I must say you caught some good ones, especially that Feebas which is bigger than the normal ones,” Gary said.

“ If you don't mind can you send them over please?” Turquoise asked.

“ I’d be happy to. Which four are you sending over?” Gary asked. Turquoise sent the remaining four members of her team back to Professor Oak’s lab and then received the four pokemon she caught in the Safari Zone. As soon as she got them Twilight and the others came back with Rainbow looking very pleased with herself.

“ How was the Safari Zone Darling?” Rarity asked.

“ It was great I saw some very rare pokemon and even caught some,” Turquoise said.

“ May we see?” Twilight asked.

“ I just got them from Professor Oak so sure,” Turquoise said before calling her new pokemon out. The others were impressed with Turquoise’s new pokemon Rarity especially.

“ These four are perfect for your next Contest, especially that Feebas,” Rarity said.

“ She’s right if you find someone interested in doing a trade evolution you will have yourself a Milotic which is a very popular pokemon among coordinators,” Twilight said.

“ Cool, now enough about my time how was the Gym Battle?” Turquoise asked.

“ I won and now all we need is for Twilight to win and we can set off for Saffron City,” Rainbow said. As they were talking a man who was dressed as a fisherman noticed Turquoise’s Feebas and was amazed by its size.

“ Excuse me ladies but who caught this amazing Feebas?” The fisherman asked.

“ I did,” Turquoise said.

“ Well, how would you like to trade it for my Feebas,” The fisherman offered. Rarity was looking at the man as if he looked suspicious.

“ I wouldn’t trust this guy darling. I heard that this guy is known for scamming trainers out of both their money and their pokemon,” Rarity said.

“ I promise you I am nothing like that ripoff artist from the SS St. Ann who is now serving a life sentence for it. And if you don't believe me see for yourself,” The fisherman said as he called out his Feebas which was of a different color with a Prism Scale of its own. Turquoise placed her hand on the Feebas and felt real skin instead of paint and even poured water on it to make sure.

“ Ok you convinced me, let's do this,” Turquoise said. Both Turquoise and the fisherman went to the trading machine and Turquoise loaded her Feebas in a Safari Ball into the tray on her end while the Fisherman loaded his Feebas in a Dive Ball in the tray on his end. After pulling the switch both pokeballs were sent through the machine and after taking both Pokeballs Turquoise and the Fisherman went outside to give their Feebas room to evolve. After letting their Feebas out they both began to glow. Both Feebas began to grow and change into giant serpentine-like creatures with a fan-like tail tip, antenna, and something that looked like hair. Of course, Turquoise’s Feebas grew longer hair than the other one. As soon as the light faded both of them now had big cream-colored sea serpents. Turquoise’s had blue eyes and hair along with yellow scales by the tail-tip while the Fisherman’s had red eyes and hair with blue scales by the tail-tip Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex for more info.

“ Milotic. The Tender Pokemon and the evolved form of Feebas. Milotic has provided inspiration to many artists. It has even been referred to as the most beautiful Pokémon of all,” The Pokedex said.

“ What moves does your Milotic have?” Rarity asked while Turquoise checked her Pokedex.

“ She knows Water Pulse, Aqua Ring, Disarming Voice, and Aqua Tail,” Turquoise said.

“ Not a bad array of moves. You could make some good combinations with those,” Rarity said. 

“ Thanks, Rarity,” Turquoise said. 

“ What moves do the rest of them have?” Twilight asked which prompted Turquoise to find out.

“ Swablu has Sing, Take Down, Mirror Move, and Cotton Guard. Dratini has Wrap, Thunder Wave, Slam, and Dragon Rage. And Goomy has Dragon Breath, Water Pulse, Rain Dance, and DragonPulse,” Turquoise said.

“ Impressive, Now all you need to do is train them up a little and they should be close to evolving,” Twilight said. As they were talking Rarity noticed something different about Turquosie’s backpack.

“ Since when does your bag have cotton lining it?” Rarity asked before Turquoise noticed Swablu digging through her stuff. Swablu poured out all the contents of Turquoise’s bag and went for one of the bags of Rare Candy she had.

“ Swablu, what are you doing? Those Rare candies are for cooking not eating,” Turquoise said before Swablu swallowed one and began to glow. Swablu began to grow bigger as her wingspan grew along with her neck. As soon as the flash died down in Swablu’s place was a bigger bird that looked like a cloud with a long neck and two ribbon-like hairs and tail feathers. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex to see what Swablu evolved into.

“ Altaria. The Humming Pokemon and the evolved form of Swablu. It flies gracefully through the sky. Its melodic humming makes you feel like you're in a dream,” The Pokedex said. Turquoise also noticed that Mirror Move was replaced with Dragon Breath. After putting everything back in her backpack Turquoise decided to call it a night.





The next day Twilight left for the Gym to face Janine while Turquoise was thinking about how she would manage her party from here on.

“ Why not rotate your pokemon from time to time,” Rainbow suggested.

“ I guess I can do that,” Turquoise said. After calling Professor Oak Turquoise exchanged her Dratini and Goomy for her Ninetails and Zoroark. After she received her Pokemon Rainbow proposed a battle to pass the time while Twilight goes to earn her Soul Badge. Turquoise and Rainbow took their positions on the battlefield.

“ What’s say we make this battle a double battle,” Rainbow said.

“ Fine by me,” Turquoise said as Applejack took the position as ref for this battle. “ Go Zoroark and Altaria. Both of Turquoise’s pokemon came out ready to battle.

“ Not bad but let's see how they handle my Flygon and Jolteon,” Rainbow said as Flygon along with a yellow spiky cat-like creature came out. Turquoise used her Pokedex to learn more.

“ Jolteon. The Lightning Pokemon and another evolved form of Eevee. If it is angered or startled, the fur all over its body bristles like sharp needles that pierce foes,” The Pokedex said.

“ Battle Begin,” Applejack said.

“ Altaria use Dragon Breath on Flygon. Altaria unleashed a breath of blue fire at Flygon.

“ Jolteon use Discharge. Jolteon unleashed a powerful burst of electricity that hit all three pokemon on the field with Flygon being the only one unaffected and the electricity causing the dragon Breath to vanish. Both of Turquoise’s pokemon managed to withstand the attack.

“ Zoroark use Night Slash on Jolteon. Zoroark charged at Jolteon with claws covered in dark energy.

“ Flygon use Dragon Claw to block that. Flygon charged at Zoroark with claws made of light green energy and both pokemon were locked in a struggle. “ Altaria use Dragon Breath again. Altaria unleashed another Dragon Breath while Flygon was stuck in a deadlock with Zoroark. “ Zoroark move out of the way now. Zoroark did a flip above Flygon before Flygon was nailed by the Dragon breath which caused her to faint.

“ Flygon is unable to battle,” Applejack said.

“ Not bad you timed that one perfectly but this battle is still far from over. Jolteon use Thunder Fang on Zoroark. Jolteon charged at Zoroark with fangs covered in electricity.

“ Altaria use Take Down on Jolteon. Altaria charged at Jolteon and managed to nail it and felt the recoil while Jolteon sunk its Thunder Fang into Altaria causing it to faint.

“ Altaria is unable to battle,” Applejack said.

“ We each have one Pokemon left so let's give it our all,” Rainbow said.

“ Bring it,” Turquoise said.

“ Jolteon use Pin Missile. Jolteon fired the spikes on its body at Zoroark.

“ Zoroark use Detect. Zoroark’s eyes glowed as she dodged all of the pin missiles. “ Now use Knock Off. Zoroark's arm glowed as she managed to chop Jolteon on the head.

“ Jolteon use Discharge. Jolteon unleashed another Discharge while Zoroark was in range.

“ Zoroark use Detect. Zoroark jumped back before Discharge could land. “ Now use Fury Swipes. Zoroark unleashed a flurry of scratches on Jolteon which caused it to faint.

“ Jolteon is unable to battle Zoroark is the winner which means the winner is Turquoise,” Applejack said as she pointed her right arm at Turquoise.

“ That was a great battle,” Turquoise said.

“ It sure was,” Rainbow said. As soon as all four pokemon were healed Twilight returned from her Gym Battle.

“ How did your Gym Battle go?” Turquoise asked.

“ I won,” Twilight said with joy. After giving her Pokemon to Nurse Joy Twilight joined the others to plan their route to Saffron City.

“ According to the map if we take Route 11 and follow the connecting routes along the river bank it will take us back to Lavender Town which is close to the Eastern gate into Saffron City,” Twilight said.

“ Sounds good to me,” Turquoise said.

“ Great. Let's head out first thing tomorrow,” Twilight said. After her pokemon were healed the girls decided to call it a night.
