Rainbow's Dress

Rainbow's Bath

Rainbow Dash ran through the rain in the park. She loved the feeling of the raindrops falling on her and soaking her through. Her black dress clung to her and glistened as water dripped off it in torrents. Occasionally she would stop running and do a hair flip just for the fun of it, making drops of water fly off her hair as well.

Suddenly, the rain stopped and the sun came out.

"Aw, is that all?" Rainbow asked. She did like the sunny weather but she loved running in the rain in her dress. She sat on a bench, which was soaking wet, but so was she, and even if she wasn't, she didn't care.

She relaxed for a few minutes, during which she stopped dripping, though she was still wet. Then she noticed a large area of dirt that the rain had turned into mud, and grinned. It was time for some messier fun.

"Cannonball!" Rainbow did a cannonball into the mud, splashing it everywhere and dirtying her black dress. She then rolled around in the mud, splashing playfully and sometimes scooping mud up with her hands and pouring it over herself. It wasn't long before she was completely covered in mud.

She had been playing in the mud for about five minutes when Rarity walked by. "Rainbow Dash, is that you?" she said, trying not to sound put off by the extremely messy state Rainbow was in.

Rainbow was sitting in the mud with her legs outstretched. "The one and only," she said. "Care to join me?"

"No thank you," said Rarity politely. "I'd prefer not to get dirty."

"Suit yourself. You're missing out." Rainbow stood up, deliberately slipped, and fell on her butt.

It was hard to tell given how dirty she was, but Rarity was sure of what she had seen when Rainbow had been standing. "Are you wearing your dress?"

"Yeah. Getting it dirty's just as fun as getting it wet."

Rarity winced slightly. "It does look rather lovely wet, I admit, but it looks absolutely horrid covered in mud."

"Don't worry, I'll rinse it off in the shower."

"It'd still be a little bit dirty after that. You need a bath."

"No thanks. A quick rinse is good enough."

"Your dress is absolutely filthy. It needs to be washed with soap."

"This isn't my first time getting it muddy. I've always rinsed it with the shower or the hose."

"Then it needs that bath even more."

"Hmmm... Nah."

"I thought you loved getting your dress wet. How often have you worn it in the shower?"

"I lost count."

"How often have you worn it in the bath?"

"I don't even take baths, unless you count hot tubs at the pool."

"Wouldn't you like to try something new with your dress? Taking a bath with soap?"

This did appeal to Rainbow Dash. She'd been in pools, the rain, a fountain, the shower, and sprayed with the hose, but not a bath. "All right, I'll do it," she said.

As Rainbow and Rarity walked to Rarity's house, Rainbow left a trail of muddy footprints.

"I will want to rinse you with the hose first," said Rarity. "So you don't track mud all over my house."

"Sounds good," said Rainbow.

They walked into Rarity's backyard, and Rarity sprayed Rainbow with the hose, rinsing the mud off her. Rainbow enjoyed this, of course. By the end of it, Rainbow was soaking wet, and her dress was mostly clean, but with a few slightly dirty spots on it.

"Leave your shoes by the door before you go in," said Rarity.

Rainbow took off her shoes and set them down next to Rarity's back door, and they entered Rarity's house. Rainbow was dripping on Rarity's floor - mostly her hair and the skirt of her dress - but Rarity didn't seem to mind. They entered Rarity's bathroom, and Rarity filled the tub with warm soapy water. Rainbow couldn't deny to herself she was looking forward to this.

Rarity turned the water off. "Now, into the tub, Dashie."

Rainbow Dash stepped into the tub and sat down, still in her wet, slightly dirty dress. This time she sat with her knees up. Already she was having fun. As Rainbow's hair was already wet, Rarity poured a large dollop of shampoo on it and started to rub it with her hands.

Once her hair was sufficiently lathered, Rarity poured some liquid soap on a bath scrubber and began scrubbing Rainbow's back and sides, coating her dress in suds. Rainbow thought this was as fun as getting dirty. She let out a small sigh of relaxation.

"I told you you'd like it, Dashie," said Rarity with a giggle.

Once Rarity finished washing Rainbow's top half, she filled a bucket with warm water and poured it over Rainbow, rinsing all the suds off her.

"Your top half is clean. Now for your bottom half."

Without hesitation, Rainbow Dash got out of her sitting position and got on all fours. Rarity poured more liquid soap onto her bath scrubber and scrubbed Rainbow's butt, then her back legs, coating both in suds. Rainbow found this enjoyable in its own way. Once she was done she poured another bucket of water over Rainbow's lower half to rinse all the soap off. She could have just told her to sit back down, but Rainbow was sure Rarity wanted to see her entire wet dress above water.

Rarity waited a few seconds before saying "Now let me wash your feet."

Rainbow Dash sat back down with her feet on the edge of the tub. Rarity took the scrubber and started washing them with soap, even though this probably wasn't necessary as Rainbow's dress was already clean.

Rainbow was extremely ticklish, so as Rarity was scrubbing her feet she laughed so hard she was splashing about in the tub, soaking Rarity's original dress. By the time Rarity finished scrubbing, she was as wet as Rainbow Dash.

"Sorry about that," said Rainbow. "I couldn't help it."

"It's quite all right," said Rarity. "Besides, Applejack says my hair looks as beautiful wet as it does in its usual style."

"She's not wrong."

"Why thank you, Dashie."

"Is my bath done?"

"Yes."

Rainbow climbed out of the tub, dripping wet and sparkly clean. She and Rarity walked outside and relaxed on the chairs in Rarity's backyard, letting the sun dry them.

"That was fun," said Rainbow Dash. "We should do it again next time I play in the mud."

"Believe me, I will," said Rarity.

They sat in silence for a few seconds.

"You up for a water fight?" Rainbow asked.

"Sure, why not?"
