Shockwave 3: Enter Copycat
An Equestria Girls Story

It’s my last year (and close to graduation) at Crystal Prep Academy and it’s already been good for me. I have a girlfriend that I’ll soon propose to in marriage and my parents found me a house to live in PLUS a job that I’ll work at after graduation (my dad’s the boss at computer repair shop and wanted me to work there since I’m extremely good at repairing computers). What could go wrong, you ask? Well, how about this guy I met on my way to school (I walk to Crystal Prep; walking’s good exercise and also, it’s not far from my house)? As soon as I reached Crystal Prep…

BAM!

Right in the back of my head!

“Ouch! What gives?!” I asked in frustration, rubbing the back of my head.

I looked and saw a man dressed in a black bodysuit and wearing a black cat mask concealing his whole head. “You do know Halloween passed, right?”

“And do you know I don’t care what you think? I’ve been watching you, boy. The way you help your friends here at Crystal Prep makes me sick. What ever happened to that noble dog warrior I remember seeing?” the man asked.

I tried to figure out what he meant until I realized what he meant. “That ‘noble dog warrior’ died when he found his partner wasn’t on the same page as him.”

“Well ‘he’ better return because I have plans for him,” he said.

“And you are?”

“Call me Copycat. I don’t need to tell you why I’m called this.”

Oh I knew. Copycat was one of those bad guys who copied a person’s ability just by observing them from anywhere and anything. Kinda like a certain villain from a comic book company. I nodded.

“Good. Now unless you don’t return to your roots, this school will explode,” he said.

“What?!”

“You heard me correctly. In this school are five bombs that are set to detonate in five minutes. What I need you to do is locate them and get rid of them before they all explode. Are you up for the challenge, Shocklord?” Copycat asked.

As soon as he said my alias, I gritted my teeth. I never wanted to be referred as Shocklord. It brought back bad memories of that night…

“I asked if you’re up for the challenge. So are you?!” he asked in frustration.

I then snapped out of it and nodded. Normally, I wouldn’t believe a normal person when they would say such things. But this is Copycat we’re talking. Also, he sounded serious.

“Good. Time starts…NOW!” he shouted.

I then ran into the school and started looking for the five bombs. I listened for ticking. I found the first bomb near the entrance and the second bomb in the cafeteria. The next bomb was in the auditorium and the next one in the gym. The last bomb was in the girl’s locker room in the gym. I listened if there were any girls in there. There weren’t. I rushed in to get the bomb only to find Sugarcoat in there along with the last bomb. Sugacoat spotted me and almost shrieked.

“Shockwave, what are you doing here?!” she asked in anger.

I wanted to tell her the truth, but I had only one minute before the bombs detonated. So instead of answering her, I ran passed her, grabbed the bomb and left the girl’s locker room. As soon I returned outside the school, I threw the bombs high up in the air and shot electricity on them (like I did as Shocklord), causing them to explode on contact.

I noticed Sugarcoat looking at me in shock. Was she shocked about the bombs or me striking them with electricity?

“Shockwave, what are you?” she asked slowly, walking towards me.

Before I could answer, Copycat applauded my actions. “Well done, Shocklord…”

“Don’t call me that! It’s Shockwave!” I shouted in anger.

“Indeed, you are. But your actions weren’t done unnoticed. Look.”

I turned around and noticed the students, teachers and ever Principal Cadance were outside looking at me. Instead of booing and jeering me, they cheered me. “Huh?” I said in confusion.

“Thought they’d hate you for what you did? Guess again. They like you even more now,” Copycat said.

I looked around and smiled.

“Now that’s over with, let’s go,” he said.

“Go where?” I asked in confusion.

“You’re a mercenary now and now you work for me.”

I was shocked at what he said. “I don’t work for you.”

“Shockwave, even though these accept you for what you can do, thousands won’t. They’ll consider you a freak. Now let’s go,” he said, trying to grab my wrist, but missed after backed away from him.

“Copycat, I can’t join you. You tried to blow up the school I attend,” I said.

“Just my way of waking up the warrior inside of you. Now let’s go.”

“No! I’m not!”

Before Copycat could grab me, Principal Cadance went in front of me to prevent me from being taken by him. Another student, Fleur dis Lee, walked at Cadance’s left side while Jet Set walked at Cadance’s right side. Soon the whole school shielded me, preventing Copycat from getting to me.

“You all are fools. He’s better off with me, not you ordinary people,” he said.

“He said he doesn’t want to join you,” Fleur said.

“So just leave,” Jet said.

“You’re not wanted in our school,” Principal Cadance said.

Copycat, realizing he can’t win, said to them, “Fine. I’ll leave. But one day, Shockwave, you’ll regret joining me.” As soon as he left, Shockwave looked at them and said, “Thank you, everyone.”

“Hey, no problem, Shockwave,” Cadance said.

“No one messes with one of our own!” Indigo shouted.

“Indeed. But why did he call you ‘Shocklord,’ anyways?” Sunny asked.

I sighed and said, “I’ll explain why he called me that. But not here. In the auditorium. Follow me.”

I then walked back into the school with everyone following.

The End, for now
