The first fragment

Link started off by going to Canterlot to see if Neighsay had figured out where the pieces were. Fortunately, Link was able to hear that Neighsay was back in normal health and that the center of the medallion had acted as a tracer for the parts of the outer ring. Three stars appeared on the map and showed where the three pieces were hidden. The first one was underground in Tartarus. Another one was somewhere on Mount Everhoof, and the last one was in Cloudsdale. Link wasn't sure how he would get to the third shard, because Epona could not fly. He decided to worry about that situation when the time came. He set off for Tartarus and ventured inside. The shard was around Cerberus' neck, but Ganondorf had corrupted him to fight Link. Through much trial and error, Link managed to stop the corruption and Cerberus went to sleep. After grabbing the shard and leaving Tartarus, Link began riding north to reach Mount Everhoof. Without warning, he found himself in a situation that he recognized from when he was lifting the twilight away from Hyrule. He was on a narrow bridge over a bottomless abyss, with fires at both ends, and King Bulblin was at the other end. Link shook his head in disgust that Ganondorf had gone this far.

"I am here to play," said King Bulblin.

Link snarled and dashed toward him. Shouting something in the sacred language, he charged the Master Sword with energy and stabbed the king. King Bulblin was left dizzy for a moment, but later apologized for trapping Link. After forgiving him, Link destroyed the barriers with his ball and chain and continued on his way to Mount Everhoof.
