The siblings arrived at Lumiose city, exhausted, after 2 days of travel.
“Now, if you excuse me, said Sunset, i have some shopping to do!! I will see you later!!”
She walked away. Sunlight looked at his team for the Gym Battle.
“Hum, Cinder 2.0, asked Sunlight to his Motisma-Dex. Show me what information you have on the Lumiose city’s Gym Leader.”
“Beep, let me a second, said the Dex. The Gym Leader of this town is a specialist of Electrik type Pokemons. His name is Clemont.”
Sunlight looked at his team to decide which of them will battle. He decided to give Incineroar and Delphox a break.
“My team for this Gym Battle, he said, will be composed of Ninetails, Houndoom and Charmeleon” (Charminder evolved into a Charmeleon a few hours before arriving to town)
Sunlight got up and walked in direction of the arena where he would challenge Clemont for the Fifth badge. But he was distracted by a suspicious activity in a dark alley. He walked in the direction of the alley to see if he could learn more. He saw a man looking around him nervously, which then disappeared in a secret passage. Sunlight arrived in the spot the man disappeared in and found the secret passage he used. He entered in it and saw stairs. He casted a spell on himself to become invisible, then slowly walked down them. After 2 minutes, he arrived in a room where he saw many Pokemons trapped inside cages and cells.
”Hum, these cages must be protected with an alarm or something, he thought. I can’t take the risk to be spotted.”
He saw another sets of stairs leading deeper in the lair. He walked down them and arrived 1 minute later in a room where many men were sat around a table.
“Nobody have been suspecting our activities” said the man Sunlight saw entering the lair.
“Are you sure?” asked a man, wearing a mask and to hide is identity
“Yes” he answered.
“Good, because i won’t do twice the same mistake” said the man with the metal mask.
“I have good news, said another man in the room. Our secret project is almost 70% completed.”
Sunlight was listening to their discussion when suddenly, The boss stopped the discussion.
“Is there a problem, Boss?” asked one of the men.
“Hum...I have the feeling that someone spy on us, he answered, Are you sure that no one else get in the lair after you?”
“Uh...No, he answered. Sorry Boss.”
Sunlight was about to leave when suddenly, he received a phone call.
“Damn it!” he thought, starting to run toward the exit.
“What is that noise?!” asked a man
“This is a phone noise, said another man. Uh, do any of us have a phone?”
“No!! Said the Boss. There is an intruder in the lair!! Block all the issues!!”
Sunlight was about to teleport outside the lair, but strangely failed to do so.
”Shit, he said, Why can’t i teleport out here?”
Sunlight found himself trapped in the first room of the lair, with the other pokemons. He was still invisible, but the spell was only temporary and would fade soon.
”And crap, he said. I will have to get out of here by force!”
Sunlight removed his invisibility and punched one of the men blocking the way out.
“What, where does he came from?! Said a man. Whatever, let’s get him, boys!!”
Sunlight blasted all the men in the room away with a powerful flame burst. But before he could leave the room, the door leading to the lair exit shutted down.
“This door is fireproof, said the man with the mask. You won’t be able to leave this room, not before you answer to some questions.”
For answer, Sunlight shot a fireball at the man. But the fireball is blocked by a forcefield.
“Where does your magic came from?” he asked.
“I was simply born with the ability to use magic” answered Sunlight.
“Interresting, said the man. Let’s make a deal, i will let you go if you can beat me in a pokemon battle, 1 vs 1.”
“Seems fair to me” said Sunlight.
The man led Sunlight to a little pokemon arena.
“The rules are simple, said the man. The fight is over when one of our pokemons will be K.O. Now, choose your pokemon.”
”Hum, Which one will i use, he thought. Incineroar is the best choice, But Houndoom or Ninetails will be good too. Hum, i can use Delphox...Or...Charmeleon...Nah, i think i will go with Houndoom.”
Sunlight sent Houndoom on the field.
“My turn, now, i choose you Gyarados!!” said the man.
The pokemon appeared, and a few moments later, summoned rain clouds.
”Nice, said Sunlight. A water type pokemon...That promise to be challenging. But he will be no match for Mega Houndoom...”
The man removed his mask and disguise, revealing a cybernetized body. Almost half of his face, his two arms, half of his body, his two legs and his hands were those of a robot.
“You seem surprised, said the man. You see, a few years ago, i tried to save Kalos from destruction, bringing balance, by exterminating the humanity and build my ideal world. I was about to succeed, then suddenly, a Perfect Zygarde appear and destroy my Proto Zygarde and nearly kill me. I survived despite all odds but i was critically injured, Then, someone saved me, heal my wounds and cybernetized the parts of my body that were too badly damaged. A few months later, i had recovered and i decided to choose a new path.”
“Oh, You are that guy, Lysandre, right? Asked Sunlight. The leader of the Team Flare?”
“Yes, but i am not Lysandre anymore, no, i am Neo-Lysandre!!!” he said.
“Alright, let’s finish this battle, i am kinda in a hurry...Said Sunlight. Houndoom, Mega-Evolve!!!”
Sunlight’s Houndoom started to Mega-Evolve. Neo Lysandre was smiling
“Oh, A Mega-Houndoom? He thought. He would make a good recruit for the team...But i know he won’t accept. He is a hero after all. Oh fine, i’ll just beat him and recruit him by force. And even if he win, he will never leave that place until he join us”
Lysandre showed to him his Keystone.
“Gyarados, Mega-Evolve!!” he said.
Gyarados started to transform too. Sunlight grinded his teeth of rage.
”That will be harder than i planned” he thought.
Gyarados stopped to transform and roared at Houndoom. Suddenly, rain started to fall in the arena.
“Houdoom, said Sunlight, Use Hone Claws!!”
Houndoom started to boost his attack and accuracy.
“Gyarados, don’t let Houndoom buff himself, said the man. Use Hurricane!!!”
A very strong and powerful wind striked Houndoom and knocked him back of a few meters.
“Cinder 2.0. Can you tell me what you know about Lysandre’s pokemon?” asked Sunlight.
“Let me a few seconds, answered the machine. Hum, Gyarados is a Water/Flying type pokemon with a high attack and a high special defense. But in his Mega form, he have the Dark type instea of Flying Type. His Attack and Special Defense are almost the double of what they are in his normal form. The best strategy against him is to use powerful direct attack and be fast. Luckily for you, Mega Houndoom surpasses almost every other pokemon in speed and power, even Gyarados. You should be able to one shot him if you can hit him with a powerful Electrick type attack. Good luck, hope it helped!!”
“It did, thank you, said Sunlight. Now, i know the Pokemon i have to beat and how to beat him! Houndoom, use Hone Claws again!!”
“Gyarados, stop him!! Use Thunder!!!”
A powerful Lightning bolt stroke Houndoom and caused an explosion. Sunlight knew that this attack certainly caused tons of damage to Houndoom.
“I have no choice, said Sunlight. If i use Hone Claws again, Gyarados will certainly finish Houndoom. I have to attack, But Crunch is not going to have effect against Mega-Gyarados Dark type, neither Inferno will...If only i could get rid of this rain or having Houndoom to learn an Electrick type move.”
“Gyarados, finish him with Ultralaser!!!” said Neo-Lysandre
Gyarados shot a huge beam of energy at Houndoom.
“Dodge!!” said Sunlight
The pokemon dodged the attack with ease.
“Nice!!” said Sunlight.
“In that case, Use Thunder again, Gyarados!!” said Lysandre.
Sunlight instinctively protected Houndoom and get hit by the lightning bolt. That surprised the pokemon, who got mad at Gyarados.
“I am okay, said Sunlight. I won’t let that evil man win.”
“Pfft, said Lysandre. Gyarados, use Thunder again...Let’s see how much electricity he can take...”
Gyarados summoned a lightning bolt that again, touched Sunlight.
“It just tickled me, said Sunlight. I am sure you can do better!”
Lysandre ordered Gyarados to use Thunder over and over again, But each time, Sunlight took it like nothing.
“Impossible! Said Lysandre. How?!”
“Because i am just acting like a Lightning Rod, said Sunlight. My armor or even myself can’t take such amount of electricity.”
“In that case, let’s see how you deal with a Hurricane!!!” said Lysandre.
Gyarados summoned a violent storm that hit him and Houndoom. Sunlight took most of the damages, allowing Houndoom to avoid being K.O’d. Lysandre started to loose his temper.
“I have enough of this!! He said. Gyarados, use Earthquake!!! Let’s see how you avoid this!!!”
Sunlight grabbed Houndoom and activated his rocket boots. He and the pokemon avoided the attack. Sunlight then landed on the ground. The rain finally stopped at the joy of Sunlight. He then returned Houndoom in his Pokeball.
“Are you giving up? Asked Lysandre. In that case, you made the good choice...”
Lysandre returned Gyarados in his Pokeball.
“No, answered Sunlight. My goal was not to win...I know that lost of victory, you wouldn’t let me go. However, this battle was perfect to gain me some time.”
“Some time for what?” asked Lysandre, surprised.
“For letting me get enough time to charge my power!! Answered Sunlight. All the electricity i blocked was converted into heat by my armor. Now, i have enought power to get out of here!!”
He released a powerful beam of magic that stroke Lysandre, and knocked him into the wall of the room. He then made a run to the exit by destroying and putting fire to everything in his way, except the room that the pokemons in cage were. He finally arrived to the lair entrance and used the last bit of extra power he had to blast the door to pieces. He then called the police agents so they could arrest the criminals he had knocked out. Meanwhile, In the lair, Lysandre got up and ordered to his men to leave the Lair immediately, using a secret exit leading outside the city. A few minutes later. The police arrived and Sunlight showed them the lair entrance.
“Their leader, their admin and a couple of grunts escaped. Explained Sunlight to the Officer Jenny. The rest have been either burned severely, Knocked out or neutralized.”
“You did this by yourself? Asked Jenny. How?”
“Oh, i was not alone, he answered. I had my loyal Houndoom by my sides.”
Sunlight show is Houndoom to Jenny.
“Hum...Are you interested to work for the police?” she asked.
“Hum...Only if you let me arrest Lysandre and take down his team?” he answered.
“Are you sure you can do this alone? She said. The last time, it took all the Gym Leaders of Kalos, Two League Champion, a member of the Elite Four of the Kalos region, the Professor Sycamore and Zygarde at his full power to stop that madman.”
“Only time will tell” said Sunlight.
“In that case, follow me to the office, she said. I will give you your investigator badge. With it, you will be able to investigate and track down the Lysandre and his organisation. You will also have access to our services if you need reinforcement. This is a huge challenge you have in front of you. Taking him down will be hard. Well, what are you waiting for?”
Sunlight sat on the seat behind Jenny’s motorcycle.
