'Well, it's finally time.' Burst Stream thought to himself as he opened his eyes and rose from his bed at Twilight's castle. Ever since Unityville had been liberated, the Castle of Friendship served as the command center for the assembled heroes. 'All the battles we lead to liberate regions of Unity, every clash with the Lancers. It's all led up to this final battle.' Burst Stream had slept in his usual outfit save for his signature white coat. Spotting it in the closet of his room, Burst wasted no time slipping it on.
"I hope you're not planning on hitting the battlefield on an empty stomach." Celestia jokingly scolded Burst as he entered the hallway.
"Big days need a big breakfast, don't they?" Burst Stream smiled as he made his way to the kitchen. It didn't take long for him to fill his belly for the coming fight. Right as he finished cleaning his plate, Celestia and Nightmare Moon approached him. "Oh. Hey you two. What's up?"
"We just thought you'd like the favor of goddesses before you head into battle." Nightmare Moon smiled as she and Celestia kissed Burst on both of his cheeks! "May you be victorious in battle."
"And come back to us safely." Celestia said as she and Nightmare Moon lightly nuzzled the blushing hero. "We'll all be praying for you."
"Thank you." Burst said with a smile as he headed to the main room of the castle where the map of Unity was displayed. "Hey guys. I miss out on the fun?"
"Not really." Twilight shook her head. "We still haven't found anything that can take down barriers the size of the one over Castalot. I would've suggested we hit wherever the shield generator was during our last raid on Castalot, but we didn't manage to get some good recon done due to how many of those robots are crawling around the city. Plus, analysis of the shield also suggests that there's magic working alongside whatever tech is keeping it up and running."
"And if we tried to hit it with every powerful spell in our arsenal, it'd be a losing battle." Nightfall Silver added. "We'd just be tiring ourselves out and turn into easier targets. Plus, it'd be putting civilians at risk. Any way you slice it, Blitz has our hands tied on that ground."
"It's also likely that he's got the last entry points we used covered." Steel Edge stated as he scratched his head in thought. "And it also doesn't help he's got the guards held in the dungeons."
"Perhaps the solution is already in our hands." Arctic Ace suggested as he inspected his Duelist Arm before turning his gaze towards Burst Stream. "Burst. Discord said he and Hermos crafted a new weapon to help with the final battle when we siege Castalot. I'd say we're at that point now."
"Couldn't hurt to try." Burst Stream nodded. "I'll get the box from my room." Mere moments later, Burst Stream returned with the box given to him by Discord. "Alright. Let's see what we've got." Burst Stream opened the box, and found a pair of gauntlets inside. Curious, Burst Stream equipped the gauntlets on. Testing if they had any unique functions or abilities
"Hmm. Nothing triggered by gestures." Burst Stream noted. "Maybe if I try focusing my magic into them-" The second Burst Stream channeled his magic into the gauntlets, his body was enveloped in an orb of light and darkness! But just as suddenly as it had formed, the orb burst apart! Revealing Burst Stream clad in fearsome-looking armor (AN: Picture armor designed after Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon). Everyone in the room was amazed at the sudden transformation. None more astounded than Burst Stream himself. "Gauntlets that turn into power armor. I guess we'll find out what else this suit can do soon enough."
"Looks like we're all ready to go." Inferno nodded. "You got a last-minute pep talk for us?"
"I don't really have a grand protagonist speech for you guys, but I do have some words you need to her." Burst Stream smiled. "You're the best friends I could have asked for. And I've got no regrets about any of the choices that led me here. Now let's finish taking back our home!"
With that, the group of heroes flew off towards Castalot. However, their departure did not go unnoticed by a group of three future heroes.
"C'mon! Let's get to the train station!" Shining Spoon urged his friends! "You guys wanna miss out on the final battle?"
"Aren't we gonna be in trouble for this?" Bright Note asked.
"No sweat! We just stay out of the way!" Speed Stinger grinned. "Like any of us are gonna miss out on Blitz Surge getting his butt kicked by REAL heroes!"
And with that, the three junior heroes purchased their tickets and were on their way towards Castalot. Meanwhile, Burst Stream and the others had arrived outside of Castalot. Sure enough, they were met with Scout units from the Lancer forces. The lead drone then projected an image of Blitz Surge.
"So you've come at last, brother." Blitz Surge smirked as he looked down on the gathered heroes. "It's funny, isn't it? You once told me that father would frown upon what I've done, but look at you know. Baring your fangs against me as you seek revenge. Is that not something father would frown upon as well?"
"I didn't come here for vengeance." Burst Stream frowned behind his helmet. "You took the city I called home. You took my dad from me when you imprisoned him in platinum. And you've taken away the freedom and happiness of the people you're the 'hero' of! You don't know the first thing about what it takes to be a hero! So today I'm taking back home! I'll get my father back! And most important of all. . . I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A HERO!"
"You still dare to proclaim yourself a hero, pretender?" Blitz Surge scoffed.
"I never called myself one, but I know what it takes to be one." Burst Stream glared through his helmet. "And so did my dad. Someone like you could never understand. It's fitting that you're hiding behind this barrier. You seem like the type who only wants to live in their own world where they always get their way! And when you don't get what you want, you lose it! Just like a spoiled brat!"
". . . Impressive attempt at goading me, brother." Blitz Surge hissed before sneering at Burst Stream. "But you'll not bait me into lowering my defenses. I'm not as foolish as you are."
"You know what? That's fine." Burst Stream said calmly before taking to the air and rocketing forward! Crashing right through the projection of Blitz Surge! "Because I want to bust apart the bubble you're in myself!" With all his might, Burst punched the barrier surrounding Castalot! The resulting impact sounding like thunder crashing across the sky!
"All that sound and fury for nothing." Blitz Surge smirked as it appeared the attack had done nothing. Then there was cracking sound. "Hm?!"
Right where Burst Stream had struck the barrier, a crack had formed. An instant later, the crack grew and a new crack had appeared! Within seconds, cracks started to appear all over the barrier until the entire thing was riddled with them! Burst Stream was staring with wide eyes behind the visor of his helmet, and smiled.
"Worlds like yours are fragile, Blitz." Burst Stream said as he flicked the barrier with his finger. "They come crashing down in an instant!" And upon such a minuscule act, the barrier shattered! With the obstacle to their advance gone, Burst Stream wasted no time in leading the charge! "LET'S ROCK BABY!"
With those words, the siege to reclaim Castalot began! Wasting no time, each of the heroes set out to scrap as many of the Lancer robots as possible! Inferno Flare used his magic to rain fire spells down on the ground troops with a few meteor spells thrown in to add fuel to the fire! Steel Edge and Rainbow Dash were busy dealing with any aerial units that decided to have a dogfight them.
"Time to blow these wind-up toys away!" Rainbow Dash smirked as she channeled her magic into her boomerang! Wind swirling around it before she unleashed a hurricane at the Valkyrie units swarming towards her! The twister tearing up the robots as it sucked them up! "How you holding up, Steel?"
"Let's just say Burst's dad didn't teach me the Wingblade spell for nothing!" Steel replied as he used his magic to summon a series of blade constructs that acted as a second pair of wings! This allowed Steel to literally fly through enemies! The sword construct wings slicing through any Valkyries in their range! He became a spiral of blades as he did a barrel roll through the line of Valkyries advancing toward him! "Unity's gonna need a bigger scrapyard after we're done here!"
Meanwhile, Tyrannus Rex and Dark Ice had made their way to ground level. Fluttershy, Arctic Ace and Shadow Thunder had followed suit with Starlight Glimmer bringing up the rear! The group fighting their way through any Lancer forces in their path! Ty was taking point as he used his shield magnum to blast apart the robots in its blaster form, and absorbing their attacks with its shield mode! And if any got up-close and personal, they promptly received a devastating punch that busted them up instantly!
"Sorry we had to drag you here, Fluttershy." Tyrannus muttered as he used his magic to let loose a blast of thunder to wipe out another wave of robots! "Your equipment's more suited to healing than combat."
"No one can fight if they're too injured, right?" Fluttershy smiled despite the battle raging around her. "Plus, I know you'll keep me safe."
"Of course I-Ngh!" Ty grunted as he received a hammer swing to the face from a Guardian unit! "Nice try! But I've got some pretty thick skin! So you're going to have to do-. . . " Ty froze as he felt a dangerous aura near him. As he turned around, he found it was coming from Fluttershy!
"You. . . " Fluttershy growled quietly before she shot towards the Guardian unit and bashed away at it with her staff! "HOW DARE YOU, YOU MEANIE!" She didn't stop bashing it until the mech looked like it had taken a swing from its own hammer! And upon the bot's destruction, Fluttershy switched back into her caring mode as she tenderly rubbed where Ty had been struck. "Oh, dear. . . you want me to heal that up?"
"Uh. . . no thanks. I'm good." Ty nodded shakily as he was still processing the side of his girlfriend he'd just witnessed. "Let's just keep moving forward."
"We'll split up so we can cover more ground." Arctic Ace advised. "We'll break off into teams of two. Dark ice is with me, Fluttershy with Ty, and Shadow with Starlight Glimmer. That way we at least have one person watching our backs."
"Solid plan, bro." Dark Ice nodded. "Let's go!"
The three teams of two went their separate ways through the streets of Castlot! Mowing their way through each of the Lancer forces that got in their way! Whether it was by their weapons, unleashing powerful spells, or purely by physical strength in Ty's case. However, some of the heroes present for the fight had more unconventional means of combating the legions of mechanical menaces.
"Hmm. This is a bit of a doozy." Pinkie Pie thought out loud as she found herself surrounded by a group of Lancer robots. She wasn't at a loss for a solution for long as a lightbulb appeared above her head. "Oh! I know what to do! Here's a little present from me to all of you! Here ya go!" Channeling her magic, Pinkie conjured up a balloon construct! "Just make sure not to pop it!"
However, the Lancer robots paid no mind to Pinkie's warning as one of the Blade units fired at the balloon construct! The balloon then exploded in a blast of energy that fried all the enemies surrounding Pinkie!
"Some people just don't listen." Pinkie sighed. "Akage should be showing up about. . . now."
True to Pinkie's prediction, Akage was jumping across rooftops! Shooting energy arrows from his bow at both aerial and ground units! His aim was true as the arrows hit crucial points on the Lancer robots! Making them stall in their movements, or destabilize them! This brief windows were all Akage needed to cut them to ribbons! The blade of his sword-tonfa hybrid weapon cloaked in plasma as he struck quicker than the eye could see! The Lancer robots going to pieces the instant he sheathed his sword! Before he continued, Akage took note of the other combat zones in the city. He saw Applejack and Magnet North shooting up the enemy while Rainbow Dash and Steel Edge tangled with the aerial forces of the Lancers. Night Fang was quite literally tearing his enemies to pieces while Venus was in a whipping frenzy. SInferno had just touched down with Rarity at his side, and the pair were burning through all enemies in their path!
"As much as I enjoy fighting with my weapons," Rarity said as she conjured a spell around herself. "I'd like to get personal with these overgrown toy soldiers!" Inferno's eyes went wide when he saw Rarity charge at the robots and deliver a punch to one of the robots' heads! It was soon revealed that Rarity's entire body was covered in a diamond-like substance! "I'd say the debut of my adamant ensemble is a success. Wouldn't you, darling?"
"Personally, I'd rather see you in a wedding dress!" Inferno chuckled as he wiped out another wave of Lancer robots with a flaming slash from his sword! "And I'll only have to wait until after we finish this fight!" And with that, the couple pushed forward towards Castalot castle. As did their friends throughout the city.
Another team making their way to the castle was Twilight Sparkle, Nightfall Silver, and Spike. It went without saying that the three of them were fairly in-sync as they blasted their way through the waves of enemies in their path! Twilight was firing beams of energy from her staff while Nightfall shot lasers and micro-missiles from his hi-tech suit of armor! All the while, Spike was guarding the rear and firing with his arm cannon! Before long, they had made it to the heart of the city!
"Looks like we're gaining ground!" Twilight noted as she saw the others converging on their position! "Once we're all together, it'll be one big push towards the castle! By the way, how's Burst doing?"
"He's breaking in that power armor Discord and Hermos created." Nightfall said as he turned his vision to the sky above Castalot! "I think he just discovered more of that suit's arsenal." 'Maybe I should look into Hermos helping me further upgrade my suit once this is over.'
"Get ready, Blitz!" Spike growled as he looked toward the castle! "We're coming for you!"
Akage smiled as he saw his friends converging at the heart of Castalot. As he surveyed the battle from his rooftop perch, the Element of Levity noticed three familiar forces ducking in and out of the chaos. The Junior Heroes were getting an up-close look at the action. Thankfully, they were keeping clear of the fighting. Satisfied that they were keeping themselves safe, Akage turned his attention to the castle. He whipped out his binoculars to get a better look, and what he saw made him freeze for a moment. A massive force of Lancer robots was marching towards them! Adding to his shock was the sheer number of Valkyrie units that were swarming out from the castle!
"It makes sense that Blitz Surge would try and push back as we push forward." Akage muttered as he produced a smoke bomb and used it to vanish and reappear in front of his friends. "Guys! We're about to receive a lot of company! A whole horde of robots fresh off the assembly line is coming our way!"
"That is indeed troubling, Akage." Celestia said as she and Nightmare Moon landed. "While a good number of us don't have to worry about tiring out easily, the same can't be said for the mortals of our number."
"And we can't use any of our more destructive spells because they could put the people at risk!" Nightmare Moon growled! "Dammit! Blitz has shields to hide behind inside and outside of Castalot!"
"He's trying to overwhelm us with numbers!" Twilight realized in shock! "And he already crippled me and the other princesses by sealing our magic! Any way you look at it, he's got the advantage!" Twilight frowned and activated her communicator! "Steel! Rainbow! Burst! We've got a massive wave of Lancer forces headed our way! Break off your engagements and regroup with us! We're going to need all the help we can get to breakthrough!"
"Right!" Steel Edge nodded. "C'mon guys! Let's get to ground level!" However, Burst Stream did not follow the two of them.
"Burst, you heard Twilight!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed! "We've gotta link up with the others!"
"You guys go on ahead." Burst Stream replied as he glared at the advancing swarm of ground forces and Valkyrie units! "I'm gonna trash those walking scrapheaps! Time to see what this suit can really do!"
Burst Stream rocketed towards the center of the swarm of Valkyrie units! As the Valkyries aimed their weapons at him, Burst Stream looked at the offensive capabilities his power armour possessed. Seeing an option most suited to the situation, he crossed his arms and wrapped his wings around himself as energy gathered around his armor! The instant the Valkyries fired, Burst Stream spread out his arms and wings and unleashed a destructive burst of energy that annihilated the Valkyries!
"CHAOS BURST!" Burst Stream cried out as the attack ripped through the swarm! Satisfied with the results, he turned his attention to the ground forces! "And that didn't use up any of my magic power! Nice! But I might need to summon my Duelist Arms to-" As Burst reached his hand out, the armor shifted to form a cannon around his arm! ". . . Maybe not!"
Burst Stream then aimed his arm cannon down at the massive horde of Lancer forces! Energy began to gather at the cannon's mouth! The gathered energy crackled with black lightning as Burst kept his aim steady!
"CHAOS MAX CANNON!" Burst screamed as the cannon's shot roared upon being released! The second the shot made contact with its target, a massive explosion engulfed the Lancer robot horde! When the smoke cleared, the entire enemy force was decimated! He was astounded by the destructive power the armor had for a moment before checking back in with his friends via his communicator. "Hey guys! Path's clear! Time to storm the castle!"
"Go on ahead, Burst! We're right behind you!" Inferno replied from the other end! "Let's kick Blitz Surge off his stolen throne! And give him one from each of us!"
"You bet I will!" Burst Stream nodded as he flew towards Castalot castle at his top speed!
'Blitz Surge must be stopped. No matter the cost.' Burst Stream thought as Castalot slowly came into his sights.

It wasn't long before he found himself at the gates of Castalot, and burst through them! He flew up towards the throne room, and positioned himself into a flying kick as he bust down the doors! Landing on top of the very doors he'd kicked down! "BLITZ SURGE! I'm here to take back the crown!"
"So you've come. Just as I expected you would." Blitz Surge smirked as he stood up from Celestia's throne. "I must admit, that display of power after you forced me to imprison father had me intimidated. However, I've since increased my own power as well."
"How could you have gotten that much stronger in just a couple days?!" Burst Stream snapped! "It doesn't make any sense!"
"Hmph. I can sense the chaos magic flowing through that armor of yours." Blitz Surge scoffed. "That's likely what allowed you to tear through my troops with little effort. But then again, it makes sense the likes of you would seek to gain strength from such a primal, unstable force such as chaos. Whereas I. . . "
Blitz Surge spread out his arms as his entire being was enveloped in a blinding white light! When the light faded, Blitz Surge was clad in white robes with white metal pauldrons on his shoulders! Gold and silver accents were present on the sleeves, and a chestplate with the original depiction of the Elements of Harmony was on full display. But the most eye-catching feature of the transformation was the three pairs of wings made of light that had sprouted from Blitz Surge's back! Each one representing one of the six Elements of Harmony!
"I have ascended thanks to the power of Harmony!" Blitz Surge proclaimed with pride! "By casting the absorbance spell on myself, and absorbing the full force of each harmony-powered attack, I attained the magnificent form you see before you! Now I truly have become superior to father and those failures that call themselves princesses! They could only unleash the power of the elements, but never command it like I can!"
"You weren't given that power, you stole it!" Burst Stream snapped! "Just like you stole the throne! You've taken a lot from me and my home! But today I'm taking it all back!"
"Ironic that you speak of reclaiming what was taken from you when you were the one who stole the mantle of hero from me." Blitz Surge frowned. "I, too, shall reclaim what was stolen from me! When your broken and battered body lies before all of Unity, they shall see that a true hero has risen! That the worthy son of Aether now stands above them!"
"There's only one thing certain from this!" Burst Stream cried out in defiance! "One shall stand, one shall fall!"
"Why throw away your life so recklessly?" Blitz Surge growled.
"That's a question you should ask yourself, Blitz." Burst retorted.
For a moment, Blitz Surge reached for his katana. Only to pause and clench his fist in anger!
"No. . . I'LL CRUSH YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS!" Blitz Surge roared as the power of Harmony exploded in the form of an aura around his body! Charging furiously at Burst Stream with his fist drawn back, ready to strike!
Burst Stream grit his teeth behind his helmet as he raised his arms to block the incoming strike! When Blitz Surge struck, the resulting collision rocked the throne room and shattered all the windows! But that wasn't the only thing to crack as the gauntlet sections of Burst Stream's armor fell to pieces! Burst Stream flinched from the impact, but he had dug his feet in before Blitz struck to help keep himself grounded! And now that Blitz Surge was close, Burst Stream unleashed a fierce punch to Blitz's gut!
Blitz Surge lurched forward slightly from the impact, and was soon grabbed by Burst Stream before being thrown out the window! However, Blitz Surge quickly recovered thanks to his wings and took flight! Not wanting to be a sitting duck, Burst Stream took flight immediately! As he advanced toward his enemy, Burst Stream noticed that his armor was repairing itself!
'I've gotta finish this fight quick!' Burst thought to himself. 'I don't know how fast this armor can regenerate, but this isn't the ideal time to find out! And the longer this fight drags on, the greater the risk of the city taking a massive hit!'
Wasting no time, Burst Stream fired a blast of white lightning at Blitz Surge! Hoping to push back and stun the tyrant! Unfortunately, all the attack did was annoy Blitz Surge! And he was quick to respond with his own assault! Channeling the power of Harmony, Blitz Surge summoned a barrage of rainbow-colored lasers and fired them at Burst Stream! The lasers hit their mark, and their barrage kept Burst Stream from going on the offensive! But the barrage was just a ploy to hide Blitz Surge's real assault. As soon as the barrage halted, Burst Stream's eyes went wide to see that a ring of lasers surrounded him! Blitz Surge had positioned them while Burst Stream was busy guarding against the initial barrage!
'This armor's meant for offense! Not defense! However. . . ' Burst Stream thought to himself as he quickly channeled his magic into a shield spell! 'My magic should make up for that!' When the ring of lasers fired at him, the shield managed to tank all the hits before shattering!
"I feel insulted." Burst Stream smiled under his helmet as he saw Blitz Surge frown at him! The tyrant and usurper looking down upon Burst Stream as he hovered above him! "All those times you tried to destroy me, and you still think I'm nothing to you. If your little ambush back in the Everfree Forest should've taught you anything, it's that I don't die easy."
"As if you could ever be a threat to me!" Blitz Surge snapped! His entire body trembling! But despite the anger in his voice, the trembling of his body was rooted in fear. He, who had been empowered by harmony, had been sent running with his tail between his legs by this 'false' hero! "I've nothing to fear from a false hero and an unworthy son of Aether!" 'So why?! Why do I tremble at his presence now?! Why is he not a broken mess after I imprisoned father?! He should be drowning in despair! He should be begging for his life to be ended! So why?! WHY DOES HE RISE AND DEFY ME EVEN NOW?!'
"I'd say the two of us are actually pretty evenly matched right about now." Burst Stream remarked as he crossed his arms. "It's a shame none of your Scout units aren't recording this and broadcasting the siege to take back the city."
"Rest assured, the Scouts are readily broadcasting this little brawl." Blitz Surge hissed! "All of Unity will see you fall, brother. And when my triumph is made known to the world, they shall hail me! Their lord and savior!"
"No they won't, Blitz." Burst Stream narrowed his eyes in anger! The visor of his helmet glowing in response to his emotions! "All I need is one good hit, and then the fight's mine!"
"You still think you can defeat me?!" Blitz Surge smirked! "I am empowered by Harmony! A force that not even the gods can stand against! Speaking of gods among us, where is the rest of your little band of rebels? I would have thought they'd all want to take part in this battle! After all, aren't your friends your power?"
"Funny. I never recall saying anything like that." Burst Stream replied calmly. "As for my friends, they all suggested I take you on myself. Besides, it makes sense with this fight just being the two of us. Isn't this what you've dreamed of? A chance to 'put me in place' and show how much of a 'true' hero you are?"
"Yes. . . " Blitz Surge scowled! "It's time I erased your mistake of an existence!"
Both fighters powered up! Their auras exploding to life around them as they charged at each other! It seemed like there would be another thunderous clash of fists, but that was not to be as Burst Stream let himself drop slightly and landed a powerful strike right in Blitz Surge's gut! The Lancer leader winded from the strike long enough for Burst Stream to shift his suit's arms into cannons and fire point blank! Pushing Blitz Surge back and roughing him up decently! When the blast died down, Blitz Surge's robes were riddled with scuff marks!
"It will take more than that to truly wound me, pretender!" Blitz Surge growled! "But all I need to do is shatter your armor to deliver justice!"
"First you keep trumpeting about justice, and then you preach about how you'll be a 'lord and savior'." Burst frowned from behind his visor! Chaos energy crackling around the gauntlets of his power armor! "Why don't you just go and declare yourself a god made flesh already?"
"I do not need to announce what is already known." Blitz Surge smirked as he channeled the power of Harmony into his hands! The energy gathering in the form of a small orb in his hands! "Perhaps it's time I teach an arrogant mortal the price of defying me!"
Burst Stream wasted no time in firing a beam of chaos energy right at Blitz Surge who retaliated with his own beam of harmony! As the two beams collided, a blinding light was released before fading and revealing the clash! Burst Stream's blast was a primarily a brilliant white but tinted blue with black lightning crackling around it. Blitz Surge's beam was an entire rainbow of colors, but they looked dull and didn't seem to shine like Burst Streams. Nevertheless, the two beams seemed to be evenly matched. No matter how hard either combatant pushed, they couldn't seem to overtake one another! It wasn't long before the beams exploded and forced both of them back! The two panting in exhaustion after the struggle!
'I really have to thank Discord after this.' Burst Stream thought. 'I'm just thankful it didn't shatter in one hit from one of Blitz Surge's harmony attacks!'
'Damn it all!' Blitz Surge mentally fumed! His breathing growing more ragged as his rage boiled! 'He was right! We ARE evenly matched! How could the power of Harmony not triumph over that chaos-infused armor of the pretender?! The Elements of Harmony were able to imprison Discord in stone, so why can't they nullify that armor?! Chaos can't be stronger than harmony!'
Meanwhile, three certain junior heroes were watching the battle with amazement! Shining Spoon was especially captivated as he recorded the fight with his phone!
"Oh man!" Shining Spoon! "That could be us one day, guys! Fighting evil with all we've got!"
"GO BURST STREAM!" Speed Stinger cheered! "SHOW THIS GUY WHAT THE ELEMENT OF POWER CAN DO!"
"Uh, isn't this a bit distracting to him?" Bright Note questioned. This promptly shut up both of his friends, but it did little for the people of Castalot who had peeked out after the Lancer army had been decimated. The sight of seeing Blitz Surge panting and roughed up filled their hearts with something they'd had very little of during Blitz Surge's reign. Hope. Hope for a day when the usurper would be defeated, the princesses returned to the throne, and the mighty heroes that had saved their land many times before would once again save them! And today, it looked like that hope had been fulfilled!
However, the developing scene hadn't gone unnoticed by either Burst Stream of Blitz Surge. As Burst noticed the crowd, a wave of concern crashed over him. The last thing he'd wanted was for any innocent people to get caught up in his and Blitz's fight! He had to move the fight far from here to avoid any of them getting hurt! But where Burst saw risk, Blitz saw an opportunity. Wanting to capitalize on the concern his "brother" emanated, Blitz Surge gathered an orb of energy, and hurled it straight at the civilians below!
Burst's eyes went wide with horror as he saw the attack descending towards the people! Gunning it at top speed, he placed himself between the civilians in an effort to shield them from the attack! But much to his surprise, the orb shot chain construct out that wrapped around his limbs and pulled him right next to the blast before it exploded! The explosion greatly damaged Burst's armor, but this was only the beginning of Blitz's assault on the Element of Power! Capitalizing on the window left by his initial strike, Blitz Surge beat his wings to send a storm of feathers made of light at Burst Stream! Burst braced himself for the storm to cut him up! But to his surprise the feathers didn't do anything more than lightly graze his armor!
Snapping out of his confusion, Burst Stream tried to fly at Blitz Surge! Only to find that he couldn't move and his limbs were bound in the air by magic circles! it then dawned on him that the feather storm Blitz Surge had unleashed was done to immobilize him! An evil smile crept across Blitz Surge's face as he once again concentrated the power of Harmony into the form of an arrow, and shot one of Burst Stream's wings!
"AGH!" Burst Stream screamed in pain as the arrow pierced through his right wing! But despite his pain, the binding circles would not let him fall!
"Now. . . for judgment!" Blitz Surge proclaimed as he gripped the handle of his katana, and vanished in a flash of rainbow-colored light before appearing in front of the bound Burst Stream and slashing him across the chest! Butting through his armor and drawing blood! But before Burst could cry out in pain, Blitz Vanished in another flash and slashed at Burst's back! The series of flash teleports and slashed continued from all sides before Blitz once again appeared in front of Burst Stream and summoned a hail of lasers that assaulted Burst from the front and back! When the brutal beam barrage finally ceased, Blitz Surge reached out with his arm and fired a beam of harmony that propelled Burst to the heart of the city!
When the beam finally died down, Burst's armor was almost in pieces. If it weren't for the magic circles binding him in place, he would have fallen like a rock! However, that fall was already upon him. As soon as he could see, Burst Stream saw Blitz Surge's fist cloaked in the aura of harmony and coming right at his head! And since he couldn't move, the fist connected and smashed away half his helmet! The resulting strike shattering the magic circles that held him in place and sent him hurtling towards the ground! A crater forming upon impact!
"Nggghh. . . . " Burst Stream groaned as he tried to move. Nothing was broken, but the brutal assault he'd been through made it hurt to move. He managed to sit up, which caused what was left of his helmet to fall to the ground. Burst tried to stand, and for a second he was successful before falling to one knee. The armor had taken a lot of punishment, but he hadn't gotten away unscathed if the cuts on his body were any indication. "Man. . . I better patch myself up." Burst gingerly put a hand over his heart as he channeled a low-level healing spell all over his body. The cuts closed up, but his respite was short lived.
"At least you are in a state that suits you." Blitz Surge sneered as he looked down on Burst. The tyrant descending down towards Burst Stream. "And soon you shall be in an even more fitting place. The grave. Perhaps you shall meet Shining Dawn in Tartarus."
"You're the only one who belongs there." Burst Stream spat as he glared at Blitz Surge in defiance!
"Defiant to the end, eh?" Blitz Surge asked with a cruel smile. "Just like a dragon to be too stubborn to know when it's supposed to be dead. No wonder you have such an affinity for those creatures."
"What can I say?" Burst Stream smirked. "I'm powerful like one, I hate it when others try to control me, and nothing pisses me off more than assholes who think they can try and hurt the ones I care about."
"Perhaps it would be to kind to kill you then." Blitz Surge mused. "I was too lenient in imprisoning father. Maybe I should pay your mother a visit later. After all, she is guilty of bringing you into this world." Hearing this, Burst Stream glared at Blitz Surge! But what he heard next made him want to tear Blitz apart. "Once justice has been served to her, your friends will be next. You led them astray from the path of heroes when they decided to follow you! And so, they bear guilt by association! But most of all? Most of all, I will relish imprisoning Nightmare Moon once again! A monster like her deserves to be exiled from this land forever! As for Celestia? She will know her new place under me as a consort. As will her sister. For I am above the gods! The fact I command Harmony is proof!"
"You were never given that power. You stole it." Burst Stream stated as he slowly rose to his feet. A weak, defiant smile on his face as he stood up. "It's funny. You keep saying you're a hero, but you would willingly let the villains bring despair and endanger people. Just so you can get everyone to notice you. Or maybe you were too scared to fight a battle where you couldn't curb stomp your opponent. Kind of like how you knew you couldn't beat Inferno before you made your grand entrance."
"Enough." Blitz Surge snapped as his eyes narrowed. "It's past time someone silenced you perma-"
Blitz Surge didn't get to finish his sentence as a piece of debris hit his head from the right! Whipping his head in the direction the debris was thrown, his face was met with another piece of debris! When his vision was cleared, he saw Shining Spoon, Speed Stinger, and Bright Note hurling debris at him!
"Leave him alone you big bully!" Shining Spoon shouted as he kept chucking projectiles!
"You're gonna finish off a guy when he can't even fight back?!" Speed Stinger hollered! "Yeah! Realheroic!"
"We're done hiding from you!" Bright Note boldly announced! And it wasn't long before all of Castalot was joining in! Hurling whatever scrap metal was produced from the decimated Lancer forces! However, this did little more than annoy Blitz Surge!
"ENOUGH!" Blitz Surge roared as he snapped his fingers, and chains made of the power of Harmony bound the mob of people! All were caught in the enchantment save for Shining Spoon who Blitz glared at coldly! "You shall answer for your insolence, boy."
"Y-You don't scare me!" Shining Spoon stammered as he trembled, but still held a piece of debris! Refusing to back down despite his fear! "If Burst Stream can hurt you, w-we can too!" Upon saying this, Shining Spoon found himself dragged forward by the force of Blitz Surge's magic!
"I have him on his last legs, and still you all hail the pretender over me!" Blitz Surge growled as he raised his katana! The blade glowing with a rainbow color as the power of Harmony coursed through it! "I am you lord and savior! And you will know the cost of defying me!"
Shining Spoon shut his eyes, and braced for the worst! The screams of horror and protest to the vile act Blitz Surge was about to commit became silent as time seemed to slow to a crawl! Any second, Shining Spoon expected to be struck dead where he stood! But when he opened his eyes, he saw a slash mark on the ground. . . and he was nowhere near it.
"Gotta admit, it was pretty foolish of you to stick your neck out like that, kid." A familiar voice said. Shining Spoon looked up, and his eyes went wide. "But it also showed how brave you are. It takes a lot of guts to stand up against evil. Especially when you can't fight back all that much."
"You. . . you saved me." Shining Spoon said with teary eyes.
"You're going to be a great hero one day, Shining Spoon." Burst Stream said with a kind smile as he set Shining Spoon on the ground. And that's when the dam burst open. Shining Spoon cried into Burst's coat as he was so overcome with gratitude. Burst's kind smile slowly changing into something greater. "I'm so sorry. You must've been so scared back there."
"I w-was." Shining Spoon sobbed. But his sobs were soon silenced when he felt Burst Stream pat his head.
"But it's alright now. There's no need to be scared any more." Burst Stream said as he turned to face Blitz Surge! A heroic smile on his face as he stared down his arch enemy! "BECAUSE I AM HERE!"
