Hero: New Discoveries in the Swamp

Once Spyro was sure that they had cleared out the first area of Dragon Kingdom, an area that Flame and Aurora said was called Dragon Village, a name that made sense when everyone considered what they had seen since their arrival in the new land that they were assisting, he and the others headed over the bridge that rested near Elder Harnell's cave so they could approach the structure that appeared to be the way forward, though what was interesting was that they found the firework that went to the metallic container that happened to be resting near the Dark Gem that had been resting in this area, which was when Ember lit the firework with her Fire Breath. That allowed the firework to rush through the air and smash into the container that was in the area they were leaving, blowing it to pieces in a matter of seconds so Cynder could collect what had been inside it, though once that was done the group entered the structure at long last and found that there was one of the golden locked chests resting in the middle of it, where Spike stepped forward and weaved his magic through the air as he used the Lockpick spell once more, which allowed him to claim another Light Gem that he added to the bag he had made for them, even though he made sure to make an icon on the three bags so it was easy to tell which bag was which. Once he was done with the chest he and the others walked through the other entrance that the structure had and walked into a tunnel that seemed to be leading them to the next part of the homeworld that they were currently assisting, where it was easy for them to notice that there were some roots growing out of certain points of the walls and grounds, though none of the roots were in their way as the group jumped down the occasional step that was in their way, even though they eventually reached an area that had a number of straw baskets for someone to smash, which Flame did this time around. Aurora also broke something at the same time, as in she smashed a bullseye chest that just so happened to be in the area as well, though once that was done they headed up the steps that were opposite the few steps that had brought them to this small chamber they had located all of the straw baskets in, before discovering a platform that seemed to be moving between two parts of the path they were following, so they jumped on top of it and made sure to split up into two groups.

The moment everyone was on the other side of the gap that the platform moved above they continued following the rest of the tunnel that was in front of them, before they reached what appeared to be the end of the passage and found that they were entering what seemed to be a swamp of some kind, based on the dark green coloration of the ground, some of the mushrooms that were around them, and a dark patch of water that was below them, which just so happened to have one of the Fire Bombs resting on a platform, which was likely what the rest of the water in the area looked like, though the first thing they did was smash the dark crystal that rested at the end of the tunnel and moved into the swamp, which was when a frown appeared on Ember's face.

"Great, another swamp... hopefully the smell won't linger on our bodies when we leave, as we don't have the time to take a bath and get rid of the smell," Ember remarked, referring to the fact that the swamp that the Beast Makers called home did that, even though the dragons had actually devised a bathing method to cleanse their bodies and whatever they had with them of the smell, but she was thankful that the other swamps she and the others had explored over the years didn't have that sort of thing attached to them, where she noticed that Spyro, at the very least, nodded his head in agreement as Spike noted down what they were seeing.

"Don't worry, Crocovile Swamp isn't like that, so you won't have to worry about any smells," Flame stated, though as he said that he did find what Ember said to be somewhat interesting, meaning that the land of the Beast Makers had made her make sure a statement in the first place, giving him and Aurora an idea of what Spyro and his siblings were used to dealing with, before noticing that Spike was already writing down what he had said, in his own way of course, which was when he chuckled for a moment, as he knew what was coming next, "also, Crocoviles are bipedal crocodile creatures that are hostile towards dragons, or at least that is what Aurora and I were told when we learned about the homeworlds and the areas that each one, so either we'll be dealing with the native species of this swamp or we'll be facing those odd gem creations we've seen you take down so far."

"So, this is Crocovile Swamp... interesting." Spike commented, mostly speaking to himself as he noted the name of the new area that they would be exploring, and his thoughts were confirmed when he noticed that Flame and Aurora nodded their heads once he said that, before he nodded his own head for a moment and put his writing materials away for now, which showed Spyro, Cynder, Ember, Elora, and Hunter, at the very least, that he was ready to go and that he was ready to see what the rest of the swamp had to throw at them before they were able to restore it to its former glory, before Red and his allies placed all of the Dark Gems all over the lands of Capora.

Once they were done talking the group headed down the curved path that was in front of them, which brought them to a tunnel that seemed to have a number of wooden spikes that were coming out of the walls, some from the left side and an equal number coming from the right side, placed apart from each other so the group was able to split up a little as they moved through the tunnel and collected the gems that rested on the ground, before reaching the end of the tunnel and found that they could see the rest of the swamp from where they were now standing, something that included a brand new mechanical pad that Moneybags appeared on, or a hologram of to be more exact.

"Moneybags, did Red or one of his allies set this up for you?" Cynder asked, mostly because she could tell that both Flame and Aurora were caught off guard by the fact that the pad even existed in the first place, meaning that this hadn't been in this part of Dragon Kingdom before the former Elder began his assault on the lands of Capora, though while she said that Spike studied the device that had been set up, despite the fact that Spyro was worried about the fact that if Red made this device, or one of his allies made it, it might be capable of listening in on what Moneybags did or said, while Flame's eyes seemed to be on a locked metal door that was near their location.

"Yes, and all of these pads were designed so I can charge extra to any would be heroes," Moneybags replied, though even as he said that he had to shake his head for a moment, indicating that he couldn't believe what had been forced upon him by the former Elder that was assaulting the lands of Capora and bothering the residents of the four homeworlds, before he focused on the group once more and noticed that some of them seemed concerned about something, "but, like I said back in Dragon Village, I'm not going to do what the old me would have done... oh, and don't worry about your enemies listening in on our conversations, as I was able to disable all of them with the Professor's help, so we're free to talk to our hearts content, even though I know your busy saving the world."

Spyro and the others nodded their heads once the bear stopped talking, showing that they agreed with what Moneybags was saying, before the hologram repeated the gesture and vanished from the area it had been floating in, even though the group knew that it would return once they approached the remote shop pad to speak with the bear, to which they walked away from where the pad was located and found that there just so happened to be a Dark Gem resting near the pad, one that was quickly smashed into pieces a few seconds later by Spryo performing the Horn Dive on it, as he figured that since they were in Capora they could use the other name for the Headbash technique. As the sinister gem was smashed a part of the nearby rock wall lowered from where it was resting, like it was a platform that had been raised to prevent anyone from accessing the area it had been covering, though it was followed by three rock pillars emerging from the ground that the Dark Gem had been stabbed into, which formed a pathway up to the uncovered area, and all of the sinister goo also disappeared with the gem's destruction, returning the ground to normal as well. Once they did that Ember headed over to a pair of metallic chests and the group found one of the Crocoviles waiting for them, as it emerged from the tall grass that was near the containers that she was heading towards, revealing that the foes in question were dark green scaled bipedal crocodiles, just like they had been told, and that they were wearing tribal gear, though the one that jumped out in front of Ember had a wooden boomerang, something Ember ignored as she smashed her tail into its chest and took it down with ease, reducing it to a pile of gems like all of the other enemies they had fought so far, meaning the Crocoviles also had a few gem creations scattered around this swamp. With the Boomerang Crocovile taken care of, and the chests were broken open with a swift bash of her head, even if she couldn't break the nearby metallic container yet, Ember rejoined the group and followed Spyro as he headed up the three pillars that had been freed with the destruction of the Dark Gem, which was when they discovered a tunnel at the highest ledge and found that there was a breakable wall right in front of them, even if there was also a path that seemed to be the main direction they needed to follow, so Cynder smashed through the weak wall and found that there was another section of the tunnel that could be explored, which had a large purple spider, who had six white spots on its abdomen, resting in the middle of the side passage.

As it turned out the Redtipped Spider, referring to the red markings that were on the spider's legs, was rather easy to take down, due to the fact that Aurora flamed it and it was quickly reduced to a pile of gems, meaning that most of the enemies that she and Flame were used to dealing with in this land were gem creations, before the group headed down the rest of the side passage and found something interesting at the end, one of the golden chests that happened to be resting at the end of this part of the tunnel, which was when Spike stepped forward and quickly unlocked it with his new spell, where he was able to claim another Light Gem for their efforts. Once that was done they headed down the rest of the main part of the tunnel and found that there was another Redtipped Spider standing in the way, one that Flame charged into and took out so the others could continue towards the next part of the swamp, which just so happened to look like a dead end, as it was just a path of land that had a webbed area that several of the Redtipped Spiders were coming from, a bullseye chest, a plant like enemy that had a yellow head with black spots, which Aurora revealed were called Jupiter Traps for some reason, a red headed white spotted version of the new plant foe, another metallic container, and a few wooden platforms that went out over the water. Once they determined what was in this area the group moved forward, where Spike focused on using his magic to blast all of the spiders that were coming out of the webs, until they decided to stop coming out, leaving Spyro to take down the red Jupiter Trap with a burst of fire while Cynder used her Shadowfire Breath on the yellow Jupiter Trap, while Amelia spotted a firework that, when Aurora lit it, rushed over to the metallic container and smashed it apart so the others could collect the fallen gems, all while Hunter jumped over the platforms and found one of the light green eggs resting at the end of it, so he carried it back to the others and Spike used his Teleportation Breath to send it back to the Nursery, something that surprised the newcomers. Bianca explained what just happened to Flame and Aurora not a few seconds later, revealing that one of Spike's more unique powers was the ability to channel his breath and his magic in a different manner than the other dragons could, turning a normal Flame Breath into what he called his Teleportation Breath, capable of moving an object from one place to another, which he had used during his third adventure with Spyro and Ember, to return all one hundred and fifty stolen dragon eggs back to the Dragon Realms, before Spike told them that he sent the egg back to the Nursery, where Nanny could return it to the place it was supposed to be resting in.

As soon as Flame and Aurora knew what was going on, and had gotten over their surprise by what Spike had done to the egg Hunter had recovered, the group headed back through the tunnel that they had used to get to this area and returned to the area that the pad Moneybags' hologram had appeared above, where it was clear that they could pick from the path that was over to their left, where a Crocovile was standing, or they could climb up the stone steps that were outside the structure that was near the pad in question. What Spyro did was head over to the steps that had some spears being thrust out of their slots in the wall and then withdrawn into the inside of the structure, where he simply waited for them to be in the standby state before moving forward as he ascended the steps, which brought him to a ledge that a Crocovile, who was holding a club, was standing on, that he quickly brought down with a quick burst of his Fire Breath, even though he did take a few moments to collect the gems as the rest of the group caught up with him. One everyone was back together they jumped around a gap that rested on a corner of the structure and climbed some stairs that brought them to another Club Crocovile, who was smashed into the ground by Elora as she flew passed its head and spun around so she could kick it in the back of its head, knocking it right into the stone it was standing on, before they paused as they noticed that there were two metallic containers in the area that was right in front of them, even if the pair were slightly lower than the group at the moment, before Spike noticed a cannon off on a platform to their right. As such Cynder flew over to it and landed on the floating platform it was resting on, where she gripped the controls and waited for the group to get out of the area that both of containers were resting in, something that was followed by her blasting them open with some well placed blasts from the cannon, though once that was done the others collected the gems that had been freed as she flew back over to where they were standing, so she could rejoin them as they checked out what the rest of the structure had to offer them, before checking out what seemed to be the main path of the swamp.

What they discovered was that there was one more Club Crocovile standing at the top of the structure and it wasn't happy to see them, not that it mattered since Spike froze it with a burst of his Ice Breath and Bianca shattered the ice with a low powered Lightning Bolt, though as the others collected the gems that fell they noticed that there were some cracks in the top of the structure, as in the central part of the stone itself, something that was followed by everyone getting out of the way as Cynder returned to the cannon and fired a few more blasts, wrecking the top and revealing that a Light Gem had been stashed away up there, which Spike claimed before they moved forward. Once the Light Gem was in their possession the group returned to the ground and started to follow the path that the Club Crocovile was guarding, who was taken out with a combined arrow strike from Hunter and Amelia, though once they were done with that foe they moved forward and found that they could either head down to a lower area or continue with what was in front of them, though to make sure the area was cleared out Flame and Aurora flamed another Club Crocovile into the ground, allowing the others to pick up all of the fallen gems as Spyro picked out the next area to explore, which just so happened to be heading down the path that their latest foe had been guarding. What they discovered, however, was another pad that was nearly identical to the one that Moneybags was using to talk with them from his shop, though this one seemed to have a hologram of someone else waiting for them, the Professor to be exact, which really made them wonder what else they might need Light Gems to power, since the Ball Gadget couldn't be the only machine that the Professor had made during his time in Capora. It was their curiosity that lead the group to make sure the area the communication pad was resting on had no enemies around it, or at the very least around the immediate area that it happened to be resting in, before circling around the pad so they could summon the hologram of the Professor, who seemed to be in the middle of some calculations when the hologram appeared in the air, which was followed by him noticing something and turned to face them, meaning something must have alerted him to their presence.

"Ah, Spyro, I'm glad you and the others are doing well, not that I expected you to be harmed in any way, and that you have uncovered one of my other gadgets," the Professor said, showing that he knew the group was able to overcome the foes that had been lurking around Dragon Village, and that the enemies who were lurking in Crocovile Swamp would share the same fate as the Gnorcs, before he focused on the pad that they had discovered, meaning this had to be the gadget and that there wasn't some machine resting somewhere else in the swamp, waiting for them to access it, "I created this special Supercharge Gadget so you would be able to smash through all of the locked doors and metallic containers that might be in your way, as in those that don't have a firework or cannon to take them down... but, by my new calculations, which are based solely on the new powerful item Spike told me about, I have determined that you will need to collect forty Light Gems to power this gadget."

"Well, we've got a few Light Gems right now, so we'll come back once we have enough," Bianca replied, to which the rest of the group nodded their heads to show that they agree with that statement, though this did give them an idea on just how many Light Gems they would need to recover over the course of their adventure in these lands, despite the fact that she had the feeling that there was another gadget that would require even more Light Gems to power and use against those that threatened the four homeworlds that they were here to save.

The Professor nodded his head and the hologram disappeared a few seconds later, where they followed the path that was just beyond the pad that served as both a communication device and as the Supercharge Gadget in question, though what they found just beyond the pad was a pair of metallic containers, which were being guarded by a Club Crocovile that was taken out by Bianca shocking it with a Lightning Bolt, though while she did that Spyro jumped over a few tree stumps that were in the water to their left and smashed the bullseye chest that was located out there, purely to get the gems and take one more item off their list of stuff to do later, before rejoining the group as they moved forward. At the top of the path the group found that they could head to their right and double back to Moneybags' pad, while in front of them stood one of the Club Crocoviles, which seemed to be the most common variety of this type of enemy, before finding that there was a cell of some kind that had some blue critters that looked like they might be related to bulls, due to the horns, but they were slow when the gate was opened and really didn't do much, so Flame took the three Critters, as the dragons called the odd creatures, out with a burst of his Fire Breath while Elora kicked the Club Crocovile into the wall that was behind it, all to clear this part of the area of enemies. The path that was to the right of the cage that the three Critters had been placed in, which might be a tunnel and not a cage, was where one of the Boomerang Crocoviles happened to be standing and it arched its arm back as it focused on the group, though before it could swing at them Ember used her Emission skill to hit it in the face and take it down, allowing Cynder to smash a metallic chest while Spike climbed up the stone steps, which was when he found a golden chest at the highest point and unlocked it with his magic, causing a pink egg with white flowers to be freed from its prison, which he quickly sent off to the Nursery before they resumed moving through the rest of the area they were in. From there they headed into the tunnel that originally looked like a cage and followed it to the area that it was leading them to, where Spyro and the others had to dodge a few of the spike traps before quickly reaching the end of the tunnel, which was a large area that had a few Jupiter Traps scattered everywhere, another shop pad, and a temple that seemed like it could have been forgotten at one point in time, regardless of what the group was told, though they did find a switch off to their right, which seemed important.

What the group did was separate into two groups and took care of the Jupiter Traps, one focusing on the foes that were at the top of this particular area, near the tunnel that brought them to this area, while the other group focused on the foes that were in front of the temple, though once all of the foes were taken care of they pressed the button that was near the start of this area and another one that was just outside the temple, something that caused the pair of barriers, one being a set of iron bars while the other was a stone door, lowering and allowing them to enter the temple, where they found one of the Club Crocoviles guarding the area. Since this particular foe had its back turned towards them it was easy for Hunter to take it down with a swing of his melee weapons, the blades cutting it down in a matter of seconds and allowing gems to fall, though at the same time some iron bars sank into the and revealed two metallic chests, a bullseye chest, and a golden chest off to their left, so Spike waited for Cynder to smash everything that was inside the small chamber and stepped into the area so he could unlock the golden chest, which just so happened to have an egg, which had purple as the color for the upper half, red for the lower half, and a yellow zigzag in a circle around the center of it, resting inside it, so he sent it back to the Nursery as soon as he freed it from where the Thieves hid it. From there they entered the chamber that was to the right of the entrance and found that there was a locked door that seemed to be connected to four electric nodes that were all over the chamber, but instead of activating them with their Lightning Breath Spyro headed towards the main door that seemed to head deeper into the area of the swamp that the temple had been built in front of, where the door sank into the floor and revealed that there were a number of platforms for them to jump on, while avoiding some swinging stone axe traps, which seemed to have a Light Gem at the end of the area. Amelia stood at the edge of the area and loosed an arrow into the chest of the Club Crocovile that was standing on the first platform they needed to jump to, eliminating one of their enemies in the process, before she nodded her head and let the others move forward, though it was Elora who flew through the area that was in front of them and dodged the stone axes as they swung through the air, showing Hunter and the others that she was getting a grasp on the skills that Spyro and the other dragons used, before she landed on the last platform of the area, claimed the Light Gem, and returned to Spike's side so the gem could be placed inside the bag he made for all of them.

Once the area was cleared out, and they were sure that there weren't any other paths to pick, other than the one that had the electric nodes outside it, the group headed outside the temple and found some stone steps that were in front of the temple itself, allowing them to climb up a few steps and take down a Jupiter Trap that was at the top of the path, which let them smash a few straw baskets and some metallic chests before heading down the tunnel that their foe had been resting in front of, where they avoided a few spike traps and took down a pair of Club Crocoviles that happened to be in the way, before noticing that the tunnel switched into being made of odd stones. Interestingly enough one of the stones wasn't the normal green coloration, rather it was a blue coloration and that made Spyro smack it with his tail, something that caused a section of the wall in front of them to sink into the floor and reveal a hidden area that had a Light Gem and three straw baskets waiting for them, something that Spike collected while Amelia smashed the baskets, before they headed down the rest of the tunnel that was in front of them, all so they could see what else the area had in store for them, even if it quickly brought them to an area that had a few wooden platforms resting above the water. The path that was to their right, which included smashing two metallic chests before reaching the final wooden platform so they could smash a bullseye chest and a pair of straw baskets, something that Ember did this time around, before the group focused on the path that was on their right, where Elora kicked a Boomerang Crocovile in the chest and took it out as Spyro and the others moved forward, as in they jumped over the stumps and wooden platforms as they explored the rest of the area they were in. Some of the wooden platforms lead over to an area that seemed to have a ruined structure, which just so happened to be where they spotted another Light Gem behind the ancient window, so Flame and Aurora headed over there while the others followed the rest of the path, saving an area with posts they could swing on for later, before they stopped a few seconds later when they found a wooden cage that contained a mole inside it, who was wearing yellow shoes, a vest made of straps, a pair of gloves with some weaponry on them, and some goggles on his head, though before they could approach the mole Flame and Aurora caught up with the rest of the group and handed over the Light Gem they had recovered.

With the Light Gem claimed, and they were sure there were no enemies resting around the area that the cage was resting in, the group walked up to where the mole was imprisoned and found that there was a stone button right in front of the cage, meaning that whoever had trapped the unfortunate creature inside it had been stupid and placed the release right in front of it, though none of them complained about it as Spyro pushed the button in question and watched as the part of the cage, the part that was in front of where they were standing, lowered and freed the mole.

"Hey guys, thanks for freeing me. The name's Blink... Blink the Mole." the mole said, revealing his name to the group as he walked out of the cage that he had been trapped in and stepped onto the ground that was in front of him, allowing him to stand in front of the entire group for a few moments as he stretched for a few seconds before focusing on the group once more, where it looked like he was thinking about something as a smile appeared on his face, "You guys must be the group of heroes that my uncle, the Professor, told me about, who would be coming to these lands and would put a stop to all of Red's plans: Spyro, Cynder, Spike, Ember, Elora, Hunter, Bianca, and Amelia, not to mention Flame and Aurora, who were dragged into this mess without being told anything... oh, and I wouldn't feel too bad about the Professor not talking about me and the rest of the family, once he focuses on his work its like the rest of the world doesn't exist."

"Its a pleasure to meet you, Blink," Spyro replied, though at the same time he had to admit that it was interesting that the Professor even had a nephew, despite the fact that none of them really knew anything about their friend or his life, not to mention the fact that he had told Blink something about everyone in their group and the fact that he planned on bringing all of them to Capora, to fight the enemies that were attacking the homeworlds and take down Red, before he returned to what was happening in front of him and the others, "Say, did the Professor outfit you with those weapons on your gloves, or did you make them yourself?"

"He built them for me, even said that he was inspired by what he did for Elora and his various suits of armor when he sat down and made them," Blink stated, informing the group as to how he had gotten the gloves, meaning that he must have asked the Professor was something to help him defend himself and all of the ideas that Elora had given their friend had, in some way, been taken into consideration as the Professor created the gloves that Blink was wearing right now, before he glanced at a hole that happened to be resting near where they were standing, which was when an idea seemed to form in his mind as he focused on them again, "so they give me special abilities when I'm exploring underground, which I had just stopped doing when some of those Crocoviles ambushed me and threw me in that cage. You know, I would love to stay up here and help you guys out, to take down Red and his plans, but, um, I have fresh-air-a-phobia... it means I have a fear of not being trapped deep underground... so, why don't I dig a hole and see if I can't find you anything that you're looking for, to aid you on your quest. Ugh, what are you looking for, exactly?"

Spyro and the majority of the group sat down near the cage as Spike informed Blink that they were looking for Dark Gems to smash, even if it was highly unlikely that he'd locate one, Light Gems so they could power the Professor's gadgets in the future, and any of the stolen dragon eggs, while Talon flew over to Blink so he could follow their new ally into the depths and claim any normal gems he might find during his exploration, to which their new friend nodded his head and dived into the hole that was nearby, so he could see whatever there was to find in this area. Instead of exploring the area and taking some time to clear it out, like they had done when Sgt. Byrd had focused on the Speedway that was apparently off-limits to dragons, the group took the time to rest a little as they waited for Blink to return, even though Elora and Hunter informed the others that neither of them even knew that the Professor had a nephew, so this was news to all of them, but he was eager to bring Red down and that was enough for the group right now, since Blink definitely had the Professor's desire to bring evil to justice, in his own style anyway. It didn't take Blink long to return to the surface and hand everything that he had found while he was exploring the underground area, the first item being one of the blue colored eggs, a Light Gem to add to Spike's bag, and a decent number of gems that were added to the total amount the group had, which none of them were even bothering to count at this point since they weren't totally interested in it at the moment, and the information that he smashed a number of dark shards while he was underground, to which the group applauded his efforts and let him dive back underground, even though he informed them that he would find another cavern to clear out and find them some more stolen eggs and Light Gems before doing that. The group determined that Blink was another helpful ally and that it would be worth allowing him to do the side areas of the parts of the homeworlds that they would be clearing Red's minions from, though once Blink was gone they headed over to the opening that was to the cage's left and found an area that had another of Moneybags' shop pads and, more importantly, a Dark Gem, something that was followed by the group heading up the ramp so Spyro could smash it to bits with the Horn Dive, which caused the darkness to recede and open up the doorway that was in front of them.

On the other side of the opening the group found a chamber that looked like someone lived here, due to the furnace, bits of wood, and some stone pots that had a few glass bottles resting in front of them, before they noticed a dragon, who was just like Elder Harnell, minus the fact that this one had pink scales and a pale chest area, plus its horns and fins were blue colored, though it was carrying a golden staff that was identical to the one that the first Dragon Elder had been holding onto and was wearing an identical set of attire, meaning they must be a symbol of the leadership role that certain dragons in Capora took on, but they said nothing as they came to a stop in front of the dragon, as they were interested in hearing what it had to tell them.

"Spyro, darling, you and your friends will need to learn as much as you can, so you'll be able to take on whatever Red and his minions send at you." the dragon elder said, showing that he must have been waiting for them to arrive, just like Elder Harnell had been waiting for all of them to arrive after the Professor told the Elders what his plans were, even if the last Elder had been caught off guard by the fact that they knew how to smash the Dark Gems, before he thought about something for a few seconds, which was followed by him focusing on them again, "Just so you know, since I'm sure the Professor and Elder Harnell didn't tell you anything about him, Red used to be a member of the Order of Dragon Elders, until his jealousy and hunger for power led him to try and overthrow our leader, something that resulted in us banishing him... I'm afraid that this is all I can tell you about Red. However, before you guys leave, to continue your adventure, the least I can do is tell you how to use the Pole Spin technique, a technique that is designed to help you navigate an area, be it the rest of the swamp or another part of our lands... all you have to do is jump onto a pole, where you should be able to coil around it, and then launch yourself at another pole after spinning for a few moments. That's all there is to the Pole Spin, as its a rather simple move to add to one's list of skills."

Instead of saying anything the group nodded their heads for a moment before Spyro headed over to the right side of the chamber that they were in, where he jumped onto the pole that happened to be attached to the wall and found that it was rather easy to do what the Elder, who went by the name Magna according to Aurora, had told them about, where he could use his claws to grip the pole and spin around it, before launching himself up to the next pole and then repeated that so he could reach the top of the area, which happened to have a cracked wall that he smashed and revealed an egg with the flame design, to which he waited for the others to catch up with him before Spike sent the egg off to the Nursery. Once all of them knew how to use the Pole Spin technique, or at least the dragons did since this was something that was designed for all of them to use, the group started to leave the house that Elder Magna was resting in, though it didn't stop Aurora from setting off a firework that smashed a metallic container they must have missed, as in it looked like there was an area they missed while they headed for the Dark Gem, but Spike also made sure to climb up to where the Elder's bed rested and found a Light Gem across from it, which he claimed without delay. With that in their possession it was easy for them to backtrack to the area that was just outside Elder Magna's house and Flame spotted a pole that rested just above the entrance, so he backtracked into the house and, from what the group could tell, headed up to the part of the house that Spike had located the Light Gem in, which was followed by a firework rushing over to an area that was to the left of the house's entrance and Flame used the Pole Spin to reach the area so he could collect all of the gems that had been resting inside the metallic container he had smashed and the few metallic chests that were near it, including a bullseye chest as well, before he rejoined the group. From there they headed back to the opening that would lead them back to where the cage that Blink had been in and found some poles that would allow them to access a higher area, to which the dragons took turns doing that with Spyro taking the lead, who found a Club Crocovile guarding a pile of gems, a metallic chest, and a bullseye chest, so he flamed the creature and opened the way for the others to smash the containers and claim all of the gems that were in front of them, though once that was done they jumped back down to where Elora and the others were standing and they headed back into the part of the swamp that lead them right to Blink.

It didn't take them long to reach the wall that had three poles attached to it and the dragons ascended to the top of it, as that was where the next path they needed to take had to be resting, which was followed by Hunter and the others using their own jumping skills to reach the highest point of the area, even though they had a chance to watch Spike shock one of the Club Crocoviles into the wall to its left, reducing it to a pile of gems, before everyone focused on the swinging stone axe that was in front of them and the wooden platforms that were just beyond it. It was rather easy to avoid the axe trap and land on the first wooden platform, though as the majority of the group focused on the rest of the path Bianca blasted the Club Crcocvile that was to their left with a Fireball and opened the way for Aurora to smash the metallic chest that it had been guarding, though once the gems had been claimed they followed the main path that Spyro and the others were following, even though Ember jumped up into another side area and smashed the Club Crocovile that just so happened to be guarding the area in question. The reason for that was due to the blue egg that was resting behind the foe in question, one that Spike sent off to the Nursery as soon as Ember made sure it was fine and unharmed, though once that was done they followed the rest of the path that was in front of them and walked out of a tunnel that seemed to have been made from a tree trunk, a small one to be exact, before finding that the path came to an end and that there happened to be a new one just above where Blink's cage was resting, so the dragons glided over it to, Elora flew over there, and Bianca used her magic to teleport the rest of the group over to the tunnel in question. From there they followed the tunnel and found that there were three small caves that the Redtipped Spiders happened to be resting in, ones that were taken out as soon as they rushed out of their homes and tried to assault the group, by Cynder using her Shadow Play to take them out in a matter of seconds, before they found a Dark Gem passed all three of the small caves and that was when Flame smashed it to pieces, something that caused the wall in front of them to collapse and reveal a brand new part of the swamp for them to explore, even though they had the feeling that they had to be reaching the end of the swamp.

As they walked through the opening, and started to head down the three wooden stumps that were to their right, it was easy for the group to spot a green skinned bipedal frog who happened to be resting in front of what appeared to be his shack, as they were certain it was male based on its body, though he seemed to be lost in thought about something that had happened recently, which was what the majority of the group assumed since they were used to residents of an area looking defeated or in need before they arrived to help them out.

"No thankee, strangers. Whatever you's a sellin', I ain't a buyin'." the bipedal frog stated, showing that he believed that the group was a bunch of merchants and that they were here to sell him something that he believed he didn't need, despite the fact that he was totally wrong about their reasoning for approaching him in the first place, though even as he said that he paused and glanced at them, almost like he might reconsider what he had just said, "But if you's a havin' trouble with the old sinkin' stuff, I can wake up one of those giant lilies for ya... however, maybe you kin' help me out first, as those darn swamp critters keep runnin' off with my food. I ain't ett in... pert near a week now!"

The odd pause at the end of the bipedal frog's statement was due to him croaking, like he was angry, which made sense due to the fact that it appeared that the Swamp Critters, as he called them and Spike had to agree it was a better name than just Critters, have been stealing his food, though at the same time it was interesting that he was offering them an exchange of sorts, they help him take care of however many Swamp Critters that were coming after his food and he would open the way forward by causing some giant lilies to rise out of the swamp water, to which the group nodded their heads and informed him that they would be willing to help him take care of the Swamp Critters. As it turned out Fredneck, as that was the name of the bipedal frog that they were going to be helping, had a path around the side of his house that let the group access a new part of the swamp, one that they realized they never would be able to access normally, that had some fruits and vegetables resting in the water, surrounded by trees, and happened to have a cannon that had two barrels that were pointed down into the area he was showing them, even though Fredneck informed them that he hated the smell of gunpowder and couldn't use the weapon, so it was up to them to take care of the Swamp Critters. It was in that moment that Hunter, the one who had the most skill in using all sorts of gadgets and weapons that the Professor made for him, so he could assist the siblings and everyone else in their quests, jumped up onto the platform the cannon rested on and took control of the weapon, where he focused on the area that was in front of them and waited for a few seconds, due to the fact that there weren't any enemies in the food covered area right now. It took a moment or two before some of the small Swamp Critters emerged from the areas that they had been hiding in and started to make their way towards the area that Fredneck left his food in, which seemed to be his own fault based on what the rest of the group was seeing, but they said nothing about that as Hunter primed the cannon and quickly opened fire on the Swamp Critters that invaded the area that the food was resting in, not wasting shots as he accurately followed and blasted each foe that dared to come near the food that Fredneck wanted to eat, even though those weren't the only foes as some bats flew down and tried to do the same thing that the critters were doing.

Interestingly enough when the first wave of enemies were dealt with Fredneck cheered and handed over a red dragon egg that he had found earlier, revealing that he had been planning on eating it and that he was unable to due to the incredibly hard shell it had, something that caused Ember to take a deep breath so she didn't lash out and bust his knees for even daring to mention eating a dragon egg in front of a group of dragons, though Hunter wasn't about to stop as he fired upon the second wave of enemies that came out of the swamp, carefully eliminating the Swamp Critters and the bats that were coming their way, before climbing off the cannon after the last foe fell, earning them a Light Gem. From there the group wished Fredneck well and headed over the path that the lilies formed, after the bipedal frog summoned the pads for them to walk on, which was when they found another Light Gem resting on a platform that was off to the right of the path, one that Amelia claimed and added to Spike's bag before they continued to see what else the swamp had to throw at them, as they knew they had to be reaching the end of the area at the rate they were going. What was interesting was that the path the lily pads formed brought them back to the start of the swamp, which was confusing since there didn't appear to be a door or something that would allow them to access the next area, though that was when Flame and Aurora stepped up for a moment, revealing that they had an idea of where they had had to go next, causing them to backtrack to Dragon Village and head for the area the Professor's Ball Gadget rested in, meaning they had to avoid the obstacles that were in their way once more as they headed back to the start of this homeworld. While they walked Spike had the sneaking suspicion that the Ball Gadget would allow them to get to the next part of the land that Dragon Village and Crocovile Swamp were part of, even though there was no direct path to take to reach Dragonfly Falls, the third and final area of this land according to both Flame and Aurora, meaning they were getting closer to taking Gnasty Gnorc down and seeing what was happening to the other homeworlds of Capora.

None of them had any idea what Red and the Dark Master were planning, other than trying to take over the four islands that Capora was made up of and enslave those that called the homeworlds home, but right now the group was ready to tackle everything and anything that their enemies might send their way, smash any Dark Gems that were scattered all over the islands, and then take down their true targets so they could restore order to the lands, just like they did to every villain that dared to take over the world.
