"RAAAAAH!" Scootaloo screamed as she charged forward, slamming into the orb but bouncing off after getting a jolt of the red lightning.
"Scootaloo!" Sunburst moved to her side and helped her up, "don't go doing something stupid."
"But we've gotta do something!" Scootaloo cried as Starlight stepped up to the orb.
"I know it's hard, but we have to be patient."
"She's right," they all turned to see Cold, Misty and Cadance step in through the wreckage. Cold stared at the orb with an intense frown. "We won't solve anything panicking. We need to stay calm."
Cadance frowned staring at the orb, "so Twilight and Spike are in there."
"Possibly," Starlight nodded, "we didn't see them go in there. It was here when we arrived."
Cadance just nodded as Misty stepped up to it, about to put her hand on it. "I wouldn't," she turned to Sunburst. "It'll jolt you if you get to close." Misty seemed to consider this for a moment before holding her hand out, getting zapped like he told her. "Why'd you do that."
"To better understand it," Misty explained while rubbing her hand. "This energy isn't like what the Zealots have used before. This is...different."
Cold took out his Duel Disk and held it up as the orb appeared on the screen. "Alright Sunset, what are you getting?"
"Not really," Sunset's voice replied through the Duel Disk. "We're picking up a weird energy signature, but our systems can't make heads or tails of it. By all accounts, this sphere shouldn't exist. The amounts of energy inside that thing is equivalent to a supernova."
"And Flash and the others are inside it," Cold realised before lowering his Duel Disk. "This isn't good."
Cadance was still trying to call her sister and brother, but now the signal was completely gone. And while staring at the orb, the young women couldn't help but get a terrible feeling. Like when the orb finally faded, she'd discover something horrifying had happened. And another terrible feeling made her mind focus on one person, like her intuition was telling her she was the most in danger. "Twilight," she whispered, "please be safe."
Within the dark sphere, Flash and Spike stared down Midnight Sparkle and her Zealots as she and Flash Duelled to decide the fate of Twilight and the rest of the world.
Flash currently had Glow Claw Magna Chimp and Spino-Gear Magna-Saur on his field, while Midnight had just summoned a monster like no other. Disharmian, Midnight Archangel. (A3000/D2500/L8/P5) But it wasn't the monster they were focusing on right now, instead more concerned by the new look their possessed friend was sporting.
Midnight looked herself over and smirked seeing her new cloths. "Oh yes," she nodded. "Now this is a look I can get behind. Goodbye schoolgirl science geek and hello future destroyer of the world."
"That's not going to happen," she turned back to Flash as he glared at her. "I won't let you use Twilight's body to destroy the world. I'm gonna beat you and free her, I can promise you that."
"Oh please," she pointed to her Duel Disk. "The way I see it, you don't have must of a chance at beating me."
"I will beat you," Flash said with more seriousness then anyone had every heard from him.
"We'll see," Midnight smiled. "But right now, it's still my turn and Archangel's ability activates since she was special summoned." Twilight discarded a card. "By discarding a card from my hand, I can add another card of that type from my deck to my hand. And since I discarded a monster card, I get another monster card." Her deck slotted out a card for her to take. "Then I'll summon it. Disharmian of Resentment!"
A flash of dark light signalled the arrival of a new Disharmian, this one looking like a paler Sunset Shimmer that was wearing the same armour as Betrayal and Deceit. This one's necklace had a red and yellow sun shaped crystal on it, the monster taking a defensive stance. (A1800/D900/L4/P4)
"Next, I'll have Midnight Archangel attack your Glow Claw Magna Chimp!" Archangel raised her hands as a ball of dark energy appeared between them, which she then pointed at Magna Chimp before it exploded into a beam of dark magic.
"Trap activate!" Flash's face down flipped up, "Interception!" Spino-Gear jumped infront of Magna Chimp and took the hit instead, getting destroyed and dealing Flash some serious damage.

"AUGH!" Flash cried out, feeling the same pain as Spino-Gear. Despite this, he still realised something. "So that monster doesn't have the same weakness as the others. It can attack even after it's Special Summoned."
Midnight smiled. "After all the hopes I went through to get her on the field, she had to be worth something. I place one card face down and end my turn."
"Well now it's my turn," Flash drew his card and smiled as an idea formed in his head. "First, I'll use the ability of Magna Caster Tempusidium. Since she's removed from play, I can add a Spell from my graveyard back to my hand."
"But how'd he banish that card?" Skystar asked.
"Spino-Gear," Guto realised as Flash activated the card he'd gotten.
"Now I play, Stardust Reload!" He took Spino-Gear out of his graveyard before drawing six new cards. And when he saw who he'd drawn, hope welled up within him. "Now watch, as my two monsters set the Pendulum Scale!" The portal began to form above him. "Cut through space time and carve the arc of victory!" The portal was soon complete and began to open. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
A single light shot out of the portal, hitting the ground and exploding to reveal his ace monster in all his glory. "Shine your light of victory, Flash Heart Dragon...X!" (A2500/D2000/L7/P4) "Skill activate!" A portal appeared behind Resentment before she was pulled inside. "Then I activate the Spell card Dimensional Aid, which grants me another two hundred life points for every one of my banished monsters."

"Now I'll have Flash Heart attack your Midnight Archangel!" The robotic dragon's boosters ignited to propel the dragon forward, confusing the Zealots.
"But Lady Midnight's monster is stronger?" Skystar asked.
"Not once he plays that," Marble pointed out as Flash played a card.
"Go, Lightspeed!" Flash Heart began to glow as his power rose up. (A3500/D2000/L7/P4) The dragon that socked Midnight in the jaw, destroying her and making Midnight flinch while holding her cheek.

"Now, Magna Chimp, attack her directly!" The robotic monkey rushed forward, ready the slash at Midnight with its glowing claws.
"I activate my Trap!" Midnight's face down flipped up, "Defence Draw!" A shield flew up and blocked the attack, Midnight drawing a card as Magna Chimp jumped back.
"I place three cards face down and end my turn."
"My draw," Midnight explained as a portal appeared before her. "And now I activate the ability of Disharmian of Resentment." Flash raised an eyebrow at this, as the Sunset clone appeared infront of him before taking a defensive stance again. "If she's removed from the field due to a card effect, she's special summoned back to the field during my Standby Phase." Flash frowned, realising she was protecting her Archangel from Flash Heart's effect.
"Not good," the teen realised as the portal formed above Midnight's head.
"I PENDULUM SUMMON!" The portal shot out a single dark light, which struck the ground and exploded to reveal her ace. "Midnight Archangel!" (A3000/D2500/L8/P5) "Now for Archangel's skill!" Midnight discarded a card before another slotted out of her Deck, which she drew before playing. "I activate the Spell card, Pendulum Draw!" Midnight's extra deck opened before five lights shot out and took the form of the Disharmians used to summon Archangel. "Now, for every Pendulum Monster face up in my Extra Deck, I can draw a card."
"Seriously!" Spike cried as Midnight drew five cards.
"Seriously," she replied before playing another card. "Next, is the Spell card Disharmony Whirlwind!" Black whirlwinds wrapped around Archangel and Resentment, getting stronger and stronger by the second. "With this card, I can destroy one Spell or Trap of my choice for ever Disharmian on the field. So I think I'll destroy that face down," she pointed at the card in question before shifting her figure to one of Flash's Pendulum Zones. "And your Magna Sheep. No more Fusions for you." With wing exploded off the Disharmians and hit Flash's cards, destroying his Reflection Barrier and Magna Sheep."
"Awe man," Spike huffed.
"Now, Archangel, take out that robotic orangutan!" The dark angel charged her attack, preparing to obliterate Magna Chimp and deal Flash some serious damage. But as she fired the laser, Flash pressed his Duel Disk's screen.
"I activate my Quick-Play Spell!" His card flipper face up, "Magna Guard! You're not the only one who can change their monster's battle position!" Magna Chimp knelt down right before Midnight's laser struck it, getting destroyed but having Flash save and unharmed.
"Huh, not bad." Midnight placed a card face down, "I end my turn."
"Then it's my turn!" Flash drew his card and smiled seeing it was just what he needed. He looked up at Midnight's field and nodded seeing what he was up against. 'She didn't destroy Flash Heart so he couldn't be special summoned and remove her monsters. But that's fine. I'd rather destroy her in battle.' "I'll start by resetting the Pendulum Scale, with scale eight Magna Caster Attriborn!" The pillar of light appeared besides him as his new monster flew up into it.
This one was a spellcaster whose robes were a combo of red, blue, green, brown, yellow and purple with a hood up over his head. In his hand, he held a large staff with a spinning dial on the end of it that had six different coloured crystals with kanji representing the six attributes that made up the Duel Monsters game.
"Cut through space time and carve the arc of victory!" Flash cried out as his new Pendulum Scale caused the portal to form above him. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened above Flash's head before it spit out a light, which hit the ground and exploded to reveal his monster. "Glow Claw Magna Chimp!" (A1800/D600/L4/P9) "Now I activate Ratio's Pendulum Ability!" Flash drew three cards and smiled seeing one of them, "I got Magna Caster Lunara!" He placed that card in his pocket as Flash Heart's power increased. (A3700/D2000/L7/P4) "ATTACK!" The dragon's boosters exploded and propelled Flash Heart X across the field before it socked Midnight Archangel in the jaw, causing it to explode and deal Midnight serious damage.

"Now for Magna Chimp." The robot leapt forward, "destroy that Disharmian of Resentment and get her out of my hair!"
"I don't think so," Midnight announced as her face down flipped up. "Go, Disharmian Grudge!" The gem on Resentment's necklace glowed before firing a blast at Magna Chimp, hitting it head on before she vanished through a portal. "By banishing a Disharmian on my field, I can reduce your monster's ATK points by hers."
Flash's eyes went wide before turning to Magna Chimp, seeing the spot the beam had struck radiate a light that spread around the rest of his body. (A0/D600/L4/P9) Despite Midnight's field being empty, the Magna monster couldn't hurt her and instead leapt back to Flash's field.
"Dang it," Flash placed a card face down. "I end my turn." Magna Chimp's ATK points returned to their normal sum. (A1800/D600/L4/P9)
"This Duel's getting kinda boring," Marble told the other Zealots. "After all the trouble we went through to get her here, I was expecting something a little more interesting from the vessel of Zeronull."
"You dare call Lady Midnight boring?" Skystar asked Marble in an almost enraged voice.
"This is about as much as we can expect from her," Trixie told them both. "She hasn't reached her full power yet. And she won't until she has all six Zenith Dragons in her possession."
Skystar's rage changed to one of worry. "But if she's not at full power yet, does that mean she's vulnerable to being defeated."
"Until she awakens her full power, yes."
"My turn," they turned back to Midnight as she once again used Dark Abyss Owl's ability to add a Spell card to her hand. Seconds later, Resentment returned before the portal began to open. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened before a light shot out and struck the ground, exploding to reveal her monster once again. "Midnight Archangel!" (A3000/D2500/L8/P5) "With Archangel's skill, I discard a monster to add one monster to my hand." She did so as he deck slotted out a card for her to take and add to her hand. "Now, I play the Spell Pendulum Assault!"
"Pendulum what?" Spike asked before hearing a roar, making him and Flash look up to see Raging Greed Dragon jump out of the Pendulum Zone and land besides Midnight Archangel. (A2600/D1300/L6/P1)
"Pendulum Assault lets me special summon a monster in my Pendulum Zone until the End Phase. And now I can get rid of your Flash Heart Dragon!" Flash raised an eyebrow at this before looking down at his Duel Disk and tapping her dragon, bringing up its stats and card effect.
It read-
When this card destroys a monster in battle, that monster is sent to the bottom of your opponent's deck.
"Oh no," Flash realised what this meant. If he lost Flash Heart, there was no way he could win this Duel.
He then remembered one of his face downs and realised he had a way to protect him. "Now, Raging Greed Dragon, destroy Flash Heart Dragon X!" The dragon opened its mouth before launching a burst of green fire in Flash Heart's direction.
"I activate my Trap!" Flash yelled as his face down flipped up. "Mirage Summon!" In that moment, a second copy of Flash Heart Dragon appeared besides the original. The real Flash Heart turned into a light that shot into the air before flying into Flash's hand, morphing into a card. "Mirage Summon creates a Mirage copy of the monster I send back to my hand. This Mirage copy has the same name, ATK, DEF and Level of the monster its copying and it can't be destroy in battle." (A2500/D2000/L7) The green fire hit Flash Heart Mirage Dragon, but simply phased through it like a ghost and hit Flash instead. "Augh!"

Flash panted as the flames vanished and he lowered his arms. "The down side is I can't attack with this monster. And during my next standby phase, I need to pay five hundred life points or destroy it."
"Huh," Midnight smiled, "not such a great monster then. Especially since you're about to lose a bunch more life points when Archangel destroys Magna Chimp!" The dark angel fired another blast at the robotic monkey, but Flash wasn't as worried. "I activate the effect of Magna Guard in my graveyard!" A shield appeared around him as the attack struck Magna Chimp, destroying it. "By banishing this card from my graveyard, I can cut the damage I take in half."
Flash: 1700
Midnight: 1700
Midnight didn't say anything else as she ended her turn. "With that, Raging Greed Dragon returns to my Pendulum Zone." The dragon flew up into the air and the light pillar appeared around it. "It's your turn."
'Yeah,' Flash thought, 'and I'm gonna need something big if I wanna win this.'
"You can do it Flash," Spike called out to him. "Remember. Twilight's counting on you."
"I know," Flash reached for his deck. "I draw!" He pulled the card off the top of his deck and looked it over, becoming shocked when he saw what he'd gotten. "No way." It was the Zenith Dragon, Granebris. He looked over his field and realised everything he had was perfect. "With Mirage Summon's effect, I now take five hundred points of damage."
Flash: 1200
Midnight: 1700
"Why'd he take the damage?" Skystar asked.
"We're about to find out," Guto as the portal opened.
"I PENDULUM SUMMON!" The portal opened before a light shot out and revealed Magna Chimp, who floated down next to Flash Heart Mirage Dragon.
Everything was set up. Now Flash could use the card. But should he?
He thought back to what Cold had told him about not being controlled by power. If that was the case, he should just use it. But was it too much power? But without it, he might not be able to save Twilight. Could he really-
"Flash!" The teen looked up after hearing the voice, one that he recognised. "Flash." Flash spun around, expecting to see Spike behind him. But instead of Spike, someone else was there. Vail Pixie.
And she wasn't alone. Every monster in Flash's deck aside from Flash Heart stood behind her, each with a worried look on their face. He looked back at Twilight and saw she was frozen, along with the rest of the people in the Omega Field. "What's going on?"
"Don't do this Flash," Vail Pixie told him. "Don't use that card. It's nothing but evil."
"What other choice do I have?" Flash asked as he turned away from her, his gaze falling back on Twilight. "With its power, I'll win and free Twilight."
"But what if you don't win?" Vail Pixie asked. "You know the cost of using those cards. If you lose-"
"That won't happen!"
"Flash, please reconsider. You can beat her without the Zenith Dragon."
"Maybe," Flash looked down at his Duel Disk, "but I can't take that risk." He raised his hand with the Zenith Dragon in it.
"FLASH!" Vail Pixie grabbed his arm, "don't!"
Flash glared at her, "let go."
"No," she shook her head, "you don't know what you're doing!"
Flash tried to shake her off, "let go!"
"I'm begging you," her eyes filled with tears. "Please listen to me." It was here that Flash finally reached his breaking point.
"I'm the Duellist and I decide what cards I use!" He finally threw her off, "so just shut up and let me win!" The look on Vail Pixie's eyes was one of betrayal and heartbreak, Flash looking away from her as she and the rest of Flash's monsters vanished while time seemed to return to normal. "I activate Attriborn's Pendulum Ability!" The Magna Caster raised its staff into the air as the dial on the end started spinning until the dark crystal was at the top. That crystal started glowing before it unleashed a wave of dark energy, which hit every monster on the field and every card in the Duellist's hands.
"What's going on?" Skystar asked.
"Attriborn has the power to change the attribute of every monster on the field and in our hands," Flash explained. "And with it, I changed all our monsters to the Dark Attribute."
"But why?" Guto asked, "why change your monster's attributes?"
"So I can use this!" Flash raised his card into the air as a dark energy exploded off of it, one Midnight, Spike and the Zealots recognised. "With this card, I put my entire future on the line."
"Wait," Spike's eyes went wide, "isn't that..."
"You gotta be kidding!" Skystar cried.
"If I lose this Duel, these cards of mine will be gone forever."
"He's really doing it," Trixie realised. "The nerve."
"First," he discarded Flash Heart, "I must tribute a Dark Attributed monster while also discarding a monster in my hand with the same name." As he did this, the Flash Heart Mirage Dragon flew up into the air before the darkness that surrounded them began to fly towards the robotic dragon and wrapped around it to form a dark cocoon that grew larger and larger by the second.
Despite what was coming, Midnight didn't look at all scared. In fact, she seemed to be smiling as the shadow cocoon began to turn into the purple slime and started dripping of it.
"Awaken," Flash chanted as the creature within started to emerge from the slime, "beast of darkness!" He slapped his card down on the Duel Disk, the last of the sludge exploding off the monster that was revealed. "Zenith Dragon of Chaotic Darkness, GRANEBRIS!" Everyone just stared up at the dragon as it flew down behind Flash, Spike having to move around so his view wasn't blocked.
"Come on Flash."
Meanwhile, Skystar's entire body was shaking in rage. "He's not even a Zealot and he's daring to use a Zenith Dragon. What nerve!" Both Guto and Trixie looked just as insulted, while Marble just looked intrigued.
'Huh, what'll you do now Midnight?'
"The Zenith Dragon's ATK and DEF points become the combined total of the monsters used to summon it," Flash stated as Granebris's points were shown. (A5000/D4000/L12) Flash felt bad for what he'd said to his monsters, but he could just apologise to them later. Right now, only one thing mattered. "I will free you, Twilight! Skill of Zenith Dragon of Chaotic Darkness!" The dragon opened its mouth and unleashed a purple mist from its mouth that struck his side of the field. "It's very presence casts a curse on your field, disabling the effects of all your Monsters, Spells and Traps! What's more, all your monsters lose half their ATK and DEF points"
Midnight looked up and saw her ace, along with the monsters in the Pendulum Zone, begin to clutch their necks like they were having trouble breathing. Midnight Archangel then went limp as she ATK and DEF points dropped down to half their full value. (A1500/D1250/L8/P5) The possessed teen then turned towards Flash, their eyes locking in an intense stare.
"Twilight," Flash told her, "you've always been there for me. Even when I was an idiot, or a jerk or a total loser, you stood by me and helped me grow. I wouldn't be where I am today without you." He shot her an intense look. "That's why, I'LL SAVE YOU! Zenith Dragon of Chaotic Darkness, ATTACK!" The dragon opened it's mouth, charging its attack. "CHAOTIC OBLIVION!" The dragon unleashed another roar, firing a burst of purple smoke that headed straight for Midnight Archangel. But as it approached-
"Skill activate!" Flash shot Midnight a surprised look.
"You can't! Granebris-"
"Will lose its abilities, thanks to the effect of a monster in my hand." Midnight discarded a card as a new Disharmian appeared, this one looking like a paler Starlight with the same dress armour as Misery and the others, along with her necklace having a grey equal sign shaped gemstone. Her hair was different however, instead being cut short at the front. "Disharmian of Inequality!" The Disharmian's necklace glowed before the gem fired a beat that hit Granebris in the forehead, replacing the Dark kanji in the crystal with the equal sign. "By discarding her, she negates the abilities of one monster on your field of the field."
"What!" Flash asked before looking down at his Duel disk, seeing the red Xs over Midnight's cards vanish. Then, Archangel's points changed back to their normal value. (A3000/D2500/L8/P5) "No way."
"Your attack'll still wipe out her life points," Spike told him. "You've still got this."
"Don't be so sure," Midnight told him. "Did forget about my face down?" Her card flipped up, revealing a Trap. "I play Disharmian Unification!" Her Extra Deck opened up before firing out a bunch of lights, which took the form of Deceit, Betrayal, Misery, Greed and Cruelty. "Now, for every Disharmian I send from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard, a Disharmian on my field gains three hundred ATK and DEF points." The five transformed back into lights, which flew around Archangel and powered her up. (A4500/D400/L8/P5)
Flash gasped seeing this as Granebris's attack struck Archangel, destroying her but not doing the damage he'd hoped.

"Don't give up!" Spike cried, "you can still win this!"
Flash nodded back before turning to Midnight. "ATTACK!" The monkey shot forward, ready to slash at Disharmian of Resentment.
"I don't think so," she told him before a monster appeared infront of Resentment. Disharmian of Inequality took a defensive stance between her and Manga Chimp. (A1500/D1500/L4/P3)
"What?" Flash asked before Magna Chimp destroyed the Disharmian, "how?"
"Disharmony Grudge," Midnight explained. "By banishing it during an attack, I can summon a Disharmian with fifteen hundred or less ATK points from my graveyard and my that the target of your attack."
"No way," Spike whispered in despair. "Even with a Zenith Dragon, he couldn't beat her."
"I...I end my turn," Granebris suddenly started to fade into nothingness. "At the end of my turn, my Zenith Dragon is banished from the field and replaced by the monster used to summon it." He reached into his Duel Disk and took out the Flash Heart X he'd discarded, the monster appearing in Granebris's place. "Flash Heart's skill." Resentment was sucked into a portal, Midnight's field becoming empty.
Flash looked up at the robotic dragon as it flew back down, landing infront of him. But something felt...off. Flash expected Flash Heart to turn towards him, like he usually did when Flash looked up at him. But he didn't. It was almost like he was turning his back on Flash.
Then, after a few seconds, Flash realised the truth. Flash Heart wasn't turning his back on Flash. Flash had turned his back on Flash Heart, along with every other monster in his deck. "What have I done?"
"HA!" He looked up at the Zealots and saw Skystar laughing. "You actually thought you could use a Zenith Dragon's true power. How hilarious. The Zenith Dragons are the ultimate power, created by Zeronull, from elements that make up the world around us. There is no way a pitiful human could ever awaken their full power."
"She's right," Midnight said as her turn started and she used Dark Abyss Owl's ability. "The Zenith Dragon can no longer remain in your possession." Flash looked confused by this as Resentment returned to the field and the portal formed above her head. "I PENDULUM SUMMON!"
The portal opened and shot out a dark light, which struck the ground and exploded to reveal Midnight's ace. "Midnight Archangel!" (A3000/D2500/L8/P5) "Skill of Midnight Archangel," Midnight discarded a card and drew another one. "Now I have everything I need."
"To do what?" Flash asked as Midnight played a card.
"To win! I now pay half my life points to play Interdimensional Pillager!"

"This Spell lets me take any card you currently have removed from play...and add it to my hand!"
"WHAT!" Flash cried as he realised what that meant, "you don't mean-"
"I'm taking back that Zenith Dragon!" Midnight yelled while holding out a hand. "Hand it over!" Flash wanted to refuse, but he knew he couldn't and reached into his pocket before taking out the card and tossing it in Midnight's direction. The Zealots all smiled when she caught it.
"Brilliant my lady!" Guto cried. "Taking back what's rightfully ours! I'm so happy you became Zeronull's vessel."
"Quite right," Midnight them held up the card. "Now, let me show you what this beast can truly do." Flash's eyes went wide hearing this, as the card in her hand once again unleashed the dark light. "I now discard a Dark Attributed monster from my hand, as well as tribute the same monster from my field." Midnight Archangel leapt into the air as the shadow began to wrap around her and form the cocoon.
"Not again," Spike cried as the cocoon flew up into the air and transform into an orb of slime.
"Awaken!" Midnight cried as the slime slipped off and revealed the creature, "beast of darkness!" The slime exploded off the orb and once again, the Zenith Dragon was revealed. Only this time, it was floating behind Midnight instead of Flash. "Zenith Dragon of Chaotic Darkness, GRANEBRIS!"
"No," Flash whispered as Midnight continued.
"You already know Granebris's ability," she told him as the dragon unleashed the cursed breath onto his field. Flash could only watch as Flash Heart, Magna Chimp, Ratio and Attriborn all choked as their abilities were negated and their power cut in half. (A1250/D1000/L7/P4) (A900/D450/L4/P9)
Flash's entire body shook with fear as he looked over his situation, having zero way of protecting himself from what was about to happen. "Flash!" He turned back to Spike, "come on. Are you seriously giving up?"
"I...I..."
"You have to win! We have to get Twilight back." Like Flash, Spike's body was also shaking. "Please Flash."
Flash stared at him for a moment before nodding, "He's right." He turned back to Midnight, "this is one Duel that I...can't afford to lose." He continued to stare at the possessed girl, their eyes remaining locked onto one another. "TWILIGHT!" And upon this outcry, something happened.
In the blink of an eye, everything around Flash changed.
Them Midnight and everyone around him had vanished, but the Omega Field remained. However, now it wasn't just black with stars all around. Instead it was a mixture of colours, with clouds of space gas floating around him along with swirling galaxies and what not. "What the?...Where am I?"
As he looked around, his gaze finally landed on someone that made his heart stop. "Twilight."
His girlfriend floated there, dressed in her real clothes, looking like she was asleep. Flash tried to rush towards her, but no matter how fast he ran he didn't move an inch. And instead, Twilight floated away from him. "Twilight!" He cried, only to then see a new figure appear behind Twilight. Zeronull.
The outer god was floating behind Twilight as she moved towards him, eventually disappearing into him. "No." As this happened, a new image appeared between him and Zeronull. This image was of two planets, one being earth and the other being the Duel Monster Spirit World.
Flash was suddenly reminded of something he'd seen during his second Duel with Tempest, with this image repeating the same situation as the two planets grew closer together. Then, as they were about to touch, a bright light exploded out from between them that blinded Flash.
"AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!" He screamed as he closed his eyes, the light almost burning his skin it was so bright.
"FLASH!" Hearing Spike's voice, he opened his eyes and found he was back in the Omega Field with the others.
"What was that?"
"It's time to end this!" He turned back to Midnight as she pointed at him, the Zenith Dragon opening it's mouth and charging its attack.
Flash frowned as he prepared for what was coming. "I can feel that you're still in there," he told Twilight. "If I reach out, I can get to you!"
"CHAOTIC OBLIVION!" Midnight screamed as the dragon unleashed another roar, firing a burst of purple smoke that headed straight for Flash Heart. The ground shook from the force, but Flash wasn't giving up.
"I have to win, for you!" The blast struck Flash Heart and exploded, causing it and every other monster on Flash's field and Pendulum Zones to disintegrate before moving towards Flash. "TWILIGHT!" With that, the blast struck him and he was sent flying backwards.

Midnight: 600 (Winner)
Spike could only watch and wait as the smoke finally cleared. When it did, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Flash lay on the ground of the Omega Field, though it looked like he was floating, his body smoking while his face showed a look of pain "No," he whispered in shock, "you...lost."
"Augh!" Flash cried as he pushed himself back into a sitting position, then tried to push himself back up. But his legs gave out and he fell to his knees, panting in exhaustion.
It was then that he noticed his cards start to glow a purple light before they flew out of his deck, graveyard, extra deck and pocket. Every single card he owned floated infront of him.
"No," he said while realising what was about to happen. Seconds later, Neo Lightspeed and Feral Lindworm burst into flames. Reality Buster and several other cards followed suit, Flash's deck quickly turning to balls of fire one by one. "NO!" More and more his cards exploded until all that was left were some that he knew better then any other. Solaris, Lunara, both exploding at the same time and leaving two more.
"Vail Pixie, please-" He didn't get to finish as the card burst into flame and fell to the ground as nothing bust ash. Flash then turned to his ace, which seemed to be staring at him with judgement. "I'm sorry." This didn't stop the card from exploding and joining the rest of his deck on the ground, Flash dropping to his knees and scooping as much of the ash up as he could.
He didn't care that it was still hot, his eyes filling with tears as he realised what he'd just done. "No."
"The cards, and the bond they represented, is now gone." He looked up at Midnight, seeing her hold up the Zenith Dragon. "You knew the risk this card possessed and you still used it. Strange. From the memories I have from Twilight, you usually wouldn't have risked them for anything. She must mean an awful lot to you. Or should I say, meant an awful lot to you."
Flash's face turned to one of rage, the look causing nothing but a chuckle from the possessed girl.
"At least you won't have to worry about making that mistake again. Now that this card is safe back where it belongs."
"Not only that," Skystar smiled. "Your victory with it in this Duel has allowed the Zenith Dragon to finally awaken its full power."
Guto nodded, "now all we need is to reacquire the Zenith Dragon of Endless Inferno. Once we have it, Zeronull's full power will awaken."
"But first, I need something else." Midnight held out her hand, Skystar quickly rushing over to place the Void Cube in her hand. Midnight then moved the box around and pointed it at Flash. "Flash Sentry, your spirit will act as the fuel needed to allow my full awakening." Flash's eyes went wide hearing this, seeing a red light escape from the gaps in the cube. "By the way, I'm dumping you." With that, the cube opened and unleashed the light that flew towards the defeated teen.
"FLASH!" Spike cried, trying to get up and save him but his broken legs forced him to stop.
All Flash could do as the light flew towards him was flinch and brace himself, waiting for it to hit him and suck his soul out. But after several seconds, nothing happened.
A gasping made him open his eyes and look around, gasping himself when he saw something blocking the light from touching him. Another light, which was wrapped around his body and blocking the Void Cube's power. The light from the cube was sucked back inside before all the power could be used up, Midnight holding it close to her as she stared at the light around Flash.
"How?" Her answer came when the light flew off Flash's body and began to take shape up above them all, morphing into a form everyone knew. Flash Heart Dragon.
"Flash Heart?" Flash picked himself up while staring at his ace...former ace, the dragon keeping its focus squarely locked on Midnight.
"How?" She once again asked, "the card was destroyed. You shouldn't have a connection to this world." Flash Heart didn't respond, instead unleashing a light from its body that flew out and caused the Omega Field to shake and unleash sparks or red lightning around them.
"What's happening?" Marble asked while trying not to fall over.
"Flash Heart's destabilising the field!" Guto yelled back, "but how is that possible? How can that one monster have the power to destabilise something created using Zeronull's power?"
"That's no ordinary monster," Midnight told them before spinning around and glaring at her Zealots. "We're leaving. NOW!" The Zealots nodded as Guto pulled out a card and threw it, creating a portal that the Zealots rushed into. When Midnight was about to step into it, she stopped and looked back at Flash for a moment.
Their eyes locked for a single moment, Flash only now realising what was happening.
"WAIT!" He jumped to his feet and rushed forward, but Midnight turned away and leapt through the portal before he could reach her. Once she was through, the portal vanished. "TWILIGHT!" The was all he could say before the Omega Field was consumed by a light and both he and Spike cried out as they were blinded.
"What is going on?" Scootaloo cried as the lightning around the dark orb starting going haywire, forcing the lot of them to step back.
"I don't know," Misty told her. "But I'm betting it's not good." Then, before anyone could say anything else, the orb completely exploded and unleashed a bright light that blinded them all. They cried out and shielded their eyes until the light finally faded, letting them look over at where the orb had been before gasping.
"FLASH/SPIKE!" They yelled as they saw the two laid out on the ground. They rushed over to them, Misty, Cold and Scootaloo circling around Flash while Cadance, Starlight and Sunburst circled Spike. "Are you okay?" Misty asked as Cold sat Flash up, but the teen didn't respond.
"Spike!" Sunburst shook the teen, but Spike also didn't respond. They began to worry until they both let out moans, their eyes beginning to crack open. "Oh, thanks goodness."
"What happened?" Starlight asked, but they still didn't respond. Then, Cadance noticed something.
"Wait," she looked around, "where's Twilight." This seemed to get the boy's attention, Cadance looking down at them. "What happened. Where is she?"
The boy remained silent for a moment until Spike finally spoke up. "I'm sorry. Twilight...is gone." This statement caused everyone to go deathly silent as they heard this, Flash meanwhile feeling himself lose consciousness again.
And as he slipped into the darkness, his thoughts were only on one thing. "Twilight."
