"Today's a special day." The mane 6 are out having a picnic out in the open in beautiful blue skies and green grass with all the grass types and flying types about. With a side of Normal type.

"Oh, it is gorgeous out." Rarity said. "Just Gorgeous.  Everything was gorgeous, nice and silent until Spike came along, running hastily. 

"T-Twilight! I-I have.. let me just.." Spike was tired from all the running as he burped out one of the message scrolls from his mouth, falling. Twilight picked up the message with her magic, opening up the scroll to see.

"Dear Twilight. I am sure you as excited as I am about the upcoming wedding in Canterlot... Wedding?" Twilight said, not knowing anything about a wedding. I will be presiding over the ceremony.. but would very much like you and your friends to help with the preparations for this wonderful occasion."

She then read each job that all of her friends were assigned.

"Fluttershy, I would like you and your songbird choir to provide the music."

"Oh my goodness. What an honour." Fluttershy said.

"Pinkie Pie. I can think of no one more qualified than you to host the reception."

"Hip. Hip. Hooray!" She cartwheeled and bounced with joy.

"Applejack. You will be in charge of the catering reception."

"Well colour me pleased as punch!" AJ said.

"Rainbow Dash.." Twilight was about to mention Rainbow Dash next but she yawned, not thinking this would be interesting at all.

"I would very much appreciate it if you could perform a Sonic Rainboom as the bride and groom complete their I Do's." The Rainboom part was what she was all about.

"Yes!" She said whilst in the air.

"Rarity. You will be responsible for designing the dresses for the bride and her bridesmaids."

"Princess Celestia wants me to ha-iy-a.. wedding dress... for a Canterlot Wedding I uhh ooh.." She couldn't contain herself, fainting near Fluttershy.

"Ash and Pikachu. You will be in charge of putting on a show with Rainbow Dash." Ash wasn't here but he did get the message.

"As for you Twilight. You will be playing the most important role of all. Making sure that everything goes as planned. See you all very soon. Yours, Princess Celestia." Twilight had finished reading the letter, looking for who's wedding it was. She looked closer at the text but nothing and even no words on the back. 

"I don't understand. Who's getting married?" She wondered.

"Oh wait! Uh... I was probably supposed to give you this one first." Spike held out a second letter which was the precursor to the other one, handing it to Twilight who opened and read it.

"Princess Celestia cordially invites you to the wedding of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and.." Twilight gasped when she saw the other name at the very end.

"My brother?!"

On the other side.. all the way back at Pallet Town. Delia Ketchum had also heard of this wedding and wanted to go herself.

"Isn't this exciting Ash? I love going to weddings! They hit my soft spots so many times without fail or miss." She said tearing up a bit.

"Yeah, but do I have to wear this suit? Can I eve fit in it?" Ash said, holding a blue suit along with Pikachu with a yellow one.

"Oh, of course, you fit in Ash. You have gotten a bit taller over the years you know."

"Yeah, not by much though."

"Pika.."

"What's more is that its a pony wedding. I wonder how that works? We'll just have to wait and see. It's also great that other people from other regions have been invited too. This'll be a day or night to remember."

"I just can't wait to show off our tricks. We can use Counter Shield as a sight for them, right buddy?"

"Pikachu!"

"We'd best be going. Don't want to be too late!" Delia was in a salmon-coloured dress, ready to go as she had already added makeup to herself in a span of a few seconds.

"I still don't know how I feel about having to wear this later on.."

"Take care of the place for us Mimey!" Delia said to their Mr Mime.

"Mime!"


Back to the world of the ponies, Twilight was a bit on the surprising side once she found out that it was her brother getting married to somepony whose name she had never heard of apparently.

"Your brother's getting married? Congratulations Twilight. That's great news!" Applejack said, shaking her hooves, but Twilight's face wasn't as happy as the others as she closed the scroll, trotting off.

"Yeah.. great news... That I just got from a wedding invitation and not from my brother. But from a piece of paper. Thanks a lot, Shining Armor. I mean really.. he couldn't tell me personally?" Twilight picked up a sandwich with her magic, mimicking a talking voice. 

"Hey, Twilight. Just so you know I'm making a really big decision that changes everything. Oh never mind! You'll hear it when you get the invitation. Princess... Mi Amore Cadenza. Who in the hoof is that?!" She said with anger boiling up in her.

"Uh, Twilight. Are you okay?" Fluttershy fluttered over to her friend.

"Sorry. It's just that Shining Armor and I have always been so close. He's my BBBFF." The others were confused about what that word meant or stood for.

"Big Brother Best Friend Forever." She explained.

"Oh." They all said in unison.

"Before I came here, learning the importance of friendship, Shining Armor was the only pony I ever really accepted as a friend." Twilight began reminiscing her time with her brother when she was just a small little filly. All those good times they shared all their dreams, their fun and activities. And she remembers how sad she was when she had to say goodbye to him when leaving from Canterlot all the way to Ponyville. He really was both a big brother and best friend all in one. Thinking about all of this just made Twilight sad, tearing up as she had a small moment to cry. 

"As one of your PFFs." Applejack said while the others had no idea what that also meant. "Pony Friends Forever."

"Oooh."

"I want to tell you that I think your brother sounds like a real good guy."

"He is pretty special. I mean they don't just let anypony be captain of the royal guard."

"So let me get this straight. We are helping out the wedding of not only a princess.. but a captain of the royal guard?" Rarity said.

"I guess we are," Twilight replied, grabbing a nearby pillow as Rarity fainted on it. Everypony else but Twilight Sparkle was excited for this.




Canterlot Castle had been rebuilt thanks to the help of Pokemon sent by BigTime Ben. Fighting types and Psychic type Pokemon get work done in no time. Inside Celestia's throne room with her new Pokemon Ralts, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza had arrived in the throne room.

"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. So good to see you. I trust all the preparations for the wedding are going to swell?"

"Yes.. they are. Though I wish it would be much quicker." She said.

"Well don't you worry? Twilight and her friends can make this process even quicker." 

"Uh-huh." Cadenza replied with an unimpressed tone. Celestia's Ralts named Passion was hiding behind Celestia, feeling something ominous from Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. 

"Passion? What's wrong?" Celestia looked at her cowering pokemon who was also looking at Cadenza. "Scared of her? There's no need to be afraid, Passion. She's a friend to me and a friend to you as well." 

"Yes... I am little one." She looked down at the Ralts with a bit of a devious grin on her face. Ralts only hid behind Celestia again, still getting a bad feeling from her.

"Well in a while we'll be practising the I Do's. Hope to see you there."

"So do I.." Cadenza turned around with a devious smile, walking out. As she walked out she went to a secluded spot with nopony around other than another individual there.

"Even Princess Celestia cannot see through you... impressive." The mysterious figure said.

"Obviously. Being the Queen means I can deceive others much easier. But I hope you're playing your part. The rift sent you here to help.. so you'd better not disappoint." Cadenza walked off, leaving the mysterious figure behind.


Ponies and humans with their Pokemon had gathered in Canterlot with each of them being invited to the wedding. Ash was here with his mom as well as some other familiar faces.

"Look who it is." A voice called out to him. He turned around to see an old friend here.

"Oh wow! Duplica?"

"Long time no see Ash."

"You're invited to the wedding too huh?"

"Oh yeah. Though I'm not really a wedding gal. But I heard there's gonna some sweet food here. So it's gonna be a eat and run."

"Pikachu.."

"So.. how are things with you and Misty? Eh eh?" Duplica nudged his shoulder.

"Oh great. She came to visit Alola a few months back ya know."

"Geez, Ash.. even at a wedding you're clueless."

"Huh?"

"Anyway. See you when the bride and groom are there." Duplica went off, obviously getting a head start on all the food when that time comes. 

On the other side, Twilight had met up with her brother Shining Armor, not happy in the slightest.

"Twily! Oh, I've missed you kid. How was the train ride, I-" Before Shining Armor could finish, Twilight pulled back.

"How dare you not tell me in person that you were getting married? I'm your sister for pony's sake!" 

"It's not my fault. Princess Celestia has requested a major increase in security. Didn't you see all the guards at the train station?"

"Yeah! There's a BIG wedding coming up. Maybe you've heard about it?" She walked away from her brother, still upset and mad at him even with his explanation. 

"It has nothing to with the wedding. A threat has been against Canterlot. We don't know who's responsible for it, but Princess Celestia asks that I help provide additional protection. This... you need to see." His horn began to glow the same colour as his sister's, sending out a bright light that revealed round barrier, surrounding all of Canterlot. Doing this made Shining Armor's head ache a bit. 

"The burden of keeping Canterlot safe rests solely on my shoulders. Staying focused on the task at hand is in my top priority." After explaining it thoroughly, Twilight now got a better understanding and was less upset and angry. 

"Okay okay, I get it. You've got a really important job protecting Canterlot with a force field only you can conjure up. But still... how could you not tell about something as big as your wedding? Am I not that important to you anymore?" She looked at him with sadness. Shining Armor made sure that her little sister wouldn't feel sad anymore.

"Hey. You're my little sister. Of course, you're important to me. But I'd understand if.. you didn't want to be my best mare now." He said knowing she'd love to be.

"You want ME to be your best mare?" Her down face became more uplifting.

"Well.. yeah."

"I'd be honoured." She bowed.

"But I'm still pretty ticked you're marrying somepony I don't even know." She instantly switched back to being upset. "When did you even meet this... Princess Mi Amore Cadenza?"

"Twily... Princess Mi Amore Cadenza is Cadence. Your old Foal Sitter." Twilight took a moment to register the name the Cadence and then...

"Cadence? As in THE Cadence? As in the greatest foal sitter in the history of foal sitters?!"

"You tell me. She was your foal sitter." Twilight then began reminiscing her time with Cadence all the way back to her youth. Her unmatched kindness, her amazing magic spell to restore love to any cracked relationships and their signature dance that went a little something like this.

"Sunshine. Sunshine. Ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake.

"How many unicorns can just spread love wherever they go? I only know of one pony. And you're marrying her." She jumped around like little filly with glee. Both of her favourite ponies were going to be married.

"You're marrying Cadence. You're marrying Cadence." She stopped jumping once she saw Cadence right in front of her.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything important." She said raising an eyebrow. Twilight had a wide smile, moving up to her.

"Cadence! Sunshine. Sunshine Ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake!" She did that signature dance right in front of her.. however, Cadence was not amused or impressed in the slightest.

"What are you doing?"

"Cadence it's me! Twilight!"

"Aha..." She responded as she casually walked past her like she didn't know she existed and only went to Shining Armor.

"I gotta get back to my station. But Cadence will be checking in with all of you to see how things are going. I think I speak for both of us when I say.. we couldn't be more excited to have you here. Right, dear?" Her brother said with his hoof around Cadence, who looked back at Twilight with a discomforting look on her face. 

"Absolutely."

"Well. We'll let you get to it. Both of them separated, going off to attend their own important business.


Inside the castle with preparations being made by everypony Ash, Pikachu and Rainbow were waiting it out.

"Counter shield will be cool and all but I gotta make it more special somehow. But I've never heard of a Sonic Rainboom before."

"It's kind of the coolest thing you'll ever see. And I'm the only pony that's ever pulled it off. In fact, I'm the only pony who can do it."

"Awesome."

"Pikachu." Whilst those three were talking, Cadence was moving to each of the other Mane 6's locations with Twilight in each spot. She showed disdain, disrespect and rudeness to most of them. From throwing Applejack's food in the trash to calling Pinkie Pie's party decorations similar to what a 6-year-old would have for a birthday party. Although Pinkie took that as a compliment. Nighttime had come as Celestia who was overseeing the entirety of Canterlot would be swapped out with her sister Luna.

"Rest my sister. As always I will guard the night. Luna said. With Twilight she had returned to her friends, obviously ticked off on how Cadence treated them. Complaining about her rude actions and words. She did raise her voices at one of Fluttershy's birds at the rehearsal. But Fluttershy admitted that he was singing offkey.

"Ugh. Rainbow Dash. Ash. You two s are with me right?" Twilight said to the two of em.

"Sorry Twi. Been too busy prepping for my Sonic Rainboom to pay much attention to the bride's bad attitude."

"And I and Pikachu are too focused on making this trick extra special. Sorry."

"Ugh!" Twilight was getting frustrated. Heavily really. From the corner of the building, Passion who had left Celestia's throne room could feel Twilight's anger. Passion the left the outside, teleporting back inside Celestia's throne room.

"Oh, Passion. There you are." 


Ash walked off away from the group, needing some fresh drinks as he spotted something unusual. There was this black like creature in the sky but he couldn't make it out. The moment he rubbed his eyes, the creature was gone.

"Weird." Just them from the bottom of the ground emerged Darkrai. "Woah! Darkrai? Are you here for the wedding too?"

"Not quite Ash. Look. I came here to warn you. There's something ominous around."

"Ominous? Like what?"

"I can't say for now. But be careful. Someone at this wedding may not be who they seem to be. There's a fake among them all. I have to go. To make sure nothing's out of the ordinary outside." Darkrai left, phasing back into the ground as he left a cryptic feeling to Ash.

"Not what they seem?" 

Back inside the castle, Cadence and Shining Armor were talking, having a bit of a dispute. Twilight had begun eavesdropping, peaking through the nearly closed door. And through the corner of her eye.. she saw something unexpected. Shining Armor's headache was kicking in again and all of a sudden, Cadence's horn glowed green, sending a green magic ray to Shining Armor's horn which made him fall along with his eyes being all wobbly. Twilight concluded. She's downright evil. As the purple pony zipped off to avoid being seen and towards her friends.

"Shining Armor's in real trouble! You have to help-" Twilight stopped as she saw her friends in dresses suddenly. "Dresses? What are you-"

"Can you believe it? We're going to be Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's new bridesmaids." Fluttershy said to her.

"New bridesmaids? What happened to her old bridesmaids?"

"She didn't say. But she did tell us that she would love love love it if we'd fill in for them." Applejack said.

"Seeing as we've been working so hard at everything." Rarity followed.

"And you had your doubts about her." AJ continued

"Told you she was an absolute gem." So did Rarity. Outside of the castle, Darkrai was in the nearest forest as he could sense someone nearby.

"Who's there?" Out of the shadows emerged the figure that Cadence was talking to before. The one sent by the rift.

"Nice to meet you. The Pitch Black Pokemon Darkrai." He showed himself to a pegasus who wore a light grey robe and had a Pokeball on his side. His hair and skin were as black as obsidian. Fitting since that was his name. Obsidian. "You're the first one to realise that something is off. Insightful."

"You. You're not from this world, are you? I can sense it."

"Right you are. I'm just a creation from the rift. Based on this world. Obsidian is the name. And I'm afraid we can't have anypony or pokemon be snooping around." All of a sudden, Darkrai was restrained by magical chains conjured up by Obsidian's pokemon. Cofagrigus.Darkrai attempted to phase through it but it was no use. And it ended up draining some of his strength in the process. 

"Why you.."

"Everything that happens and will happen will be in the rift's favour. This wedding is going to be something once the truth is revealed." All of a sudden, Luna came flying in, shooting a magic beam at Obsidian who managed to move out of the way. "Oh geez. A Princess."

"Darkrai. Are thou alright?" Luna went to Darkrai, trying to remove the chains with her magic, but they were also draining her magic as well. "W-What is this?"

"Amazing isn't it? Normally a Cofagrigus isn't capable of this. But thanks to the rift, some altercations were made. Granting this fellow over here to try out new tricks just to spice things up a bit. Cofagrigus. Keep watch of them." Obsidian walked off as Cofagrigus kept those two still. The chains had also grasped onto Luna who didn't' have much strength to escape due to how much the chains sapped up the moment she used magic on them.

In the castle, practising was in session. Shining Armor standing there with Cadence walking through with beauty and grace. The Mane 6, minus Twilight were walking with their heads held up high.

"Perfect girls. No need to rush." Celestia said. "Then of course Cadence will enter." And she did, walking forward to Shining Armor. "I'll say a few words and then we'll begin with the vows. Shining Armor. You'll get the ring from the best mare." But there was no best mare. Twilight wasn't present at all. 

"Hey. Has anypony seen Twilight" Shining asked?

But now she was, opening the doors herself, not looking happy. 

"I'm here! And I'm not gonna stand next to her! And neither should you" She proclaimed. Shining Armor had a bit of embarrassment on his face.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why she's acting like this." Shining Armor said.

"Maybe we should just ignore her." Cadence replied.

"You have to listen to me!"

"Oh goodness. Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked.

"I'm fine." She retorted, eyeing Cadence down.

"You sure about that?" AJ also asked as Twilight covered her face with her own hat.

"I've got something to say. She's evil!" Twilight said, pointing at her. Everypony gasped at that statement.

"Pika?"

Ralts was behind a pillar watching all of this happen. 

"She's been horrible to my friends," Twilight said, teleporting behind her. "She's obviously done something to her bridesmaids. And if that wasn't enough... I saw her put a spell on my brother that made his eyes go all.." She mimicked the wobbly eyes from before. Twilight pushed her into a corner with everypony else staring. Twilight had a look of confidence in her face, believing that she had busted her. Cadence then.. all of a sudden.. began to cry.

"Why are you doing this to me." She wept, running off.

"Because you're evil!" Twilight yelled, teleporting to her whilst she ran out. "Evil! And if I don't stop you, you're gonna ruin my brother's life!" She walked back with confidence as she bumped into Shining Armor who was not happy at all. 

"You want to why my eyes went all.." He also did the wobbly eyes, which actually hurt his head. "Because ever since I started having to perform my protection spell, I've been getting terrible migraines. Cadence hasn't been casting spells on me. She's been using her magic to heal me. And she decided to replace her bridesmaids because she found out the only reason they wanted to be in the wedding was that so they could meet Canterlot royalty. And if she hasn't been on her best behaviour with your friends, is because of me being so busy, she's had to make all the decisions about the wedding." He explained every moment that Twilight apparently misunderstood.

"I was just trying to.." She tried to get a sentence in but was interrupted by Shining Armor still going on.

"She's completely stressed out because it's really important to her that her big day be perfect! Something that obviously wasn't important... to you." He said to her face. He got his migraines again this time from letting out all that anger. "Now if you'll excuse me... I have to go and comfort my bride." He walked off, not even looking back at her. And you can forget about being my best mare. In fact, if I were you. I wouldn't show up at the wedding at all." He finished off, leaving.

Twilight looked back at her friends, who didn't know how to feel until Applejack stepped in. 

"Come on ya'll. Let's go check on the princess." They all walked past Twilight, not giving her any eye as they all had a look of disappointment on their faces. Even Celestia didn't bother.

"You have a lot to think about." She said, leaving with the others. Twilight began to tear up as she took a moment to take it all in.

"Maybe I was being overprotective... I could've gained a sister...But instead. I've just lost a brother." She laid down on the stairs, full of sadness as Pikachu walked up to her. 

"Pikapi."

"Pikachu.." Pikachu knew where she was coming from. He has experienced something like this before throughout his adventures with Ash, especially with other Pokemon that his friends had. Cadence had suddenly walked over to her, placing her hoof on her mane. Twilight looked up at the alicorn that she insulted in front of everypony including Celestia.

"I'm sorry."

"You will be." Her eyes suddenly glowed green as a circle of fire surrounded the two of them. 

"Pika?!" Passion saw this and was surprised as well. Both Pikachu and Twilight had been engulfed by the green flame, sinking below the carpet.
