The Hoenn Region. The current visit for Celestia and Luna. And the spot in Hoenn they arrived in was Lilycove City.
"Ah, Lilycove City. I'm already remembering May's contests here." Ash reminisced to May's contests in the contest halls of Lilycove.
"Contests? What sort of contests?" Luna asked.
"Well, how do I describe them? They're basically a show of skill and style. Who can perform the more appealing style with moves and so on."
"We must see this with our own eyes. Style and skill are something we adore."
"Sounds thrilling. I'm with Luna."
"Sweet. Although I don't think the contest halls are open this early." Ash said. As they wandered Lilycove City, they were being watched by a peculiar pokemon. One who was drawn to positive feelings. Ponies were also in Lilycove, as they bowed down to Celestia and Luna when they were walking by. The mystery pokemon followed the group, aiming to keep a low profile. Celestia could sense that they were being followed as she moved her eyes about.
"Who goes there?" Celestia said out loud. Ash, Pikachu, Spike, Luna and Twilight caught attention to this, wondering who Celestia saw. From behind a house, emerged the small, timid and frail psychic and fairy type. Ralts.
"Oh, it's a Ralts!" Ash said.
"A Ralts?" Twilight responded. Ralts was keeping its distance by using the back of the house as it was eyeing down Celestia.
"It seems like it won't stop looking at me.."
"Ralts have the ability to sense the warm feelings of people. And I guess in this case ponies too. They're drawn to people with positive and strong emotions. Though they kinda hide if things get hostile. So I guess it's drawn to you, Princess."
"Drawn to me..?" Celestia and the Ralts kept looking at each for a bit until Ralts stepped forward. "You don't have to be afraid, little one. You can come close to me." The little feeling Pokemon walked over to the Alicorn Princess, feeling those warm and positive emotions. And with that, the little Ralts had hugged Celestia's hooves. Sticking to her like glue. "Oh?"
"Ralts.."
"Sister, We believe thou now has a burden on thou shoulders," Luna said. Ralts looked up at Celestia as she looked down at her too.
"How sweet. It's been fun seeing you... but I have to get going, little Ralts." Ralts, let go of Celestia's hooves, respecting her decision to leave. "Farewell." The others walked off, waving goodbye along with Celestia, saying goodbye to Ralts. However, Ralts had still not gotten over Celestia. So it decided to follow them by sneaking around via teleport.
Elsewhere, Rarity and Applejack have reached Alola. Where the sun gives off passion and the moon courage. "Woowee. This sun is something else. Feels kinda nice though." Applejack said, still holding on to the nearly fainted Rarity. "Come on now Rarity. Ash said that this place is great for relaxation, so why not rest up and save all that energy you wasted."
"Resting sounds good. I like that." Rarity replied.
"Oh! Applejack is that you?" A familiar voice called out to her. To her sight, she saw her cousin. Braeburn.
"Braeburn? Why are you here?"
"Well, the funniest thing happened. It was just a normal day in Appleloosa, nothing too out of the ordinary. Then all of a sudden these little critters that were bouncing on their tail for some odd reason, came through. Flooded all of Appleloosa and then bounced off to who knows where. That's when we saw this swirly thing that led right here, and I gotta say. It feels great."
"It does?"
"Mhm. The sun here's got a much different feeling than Appleloosa. A pretty warm and good feeling too. Goes right through the skin too. Anyways. I'm just about to head back to Appleloosa. Nice seeing you, cousin." Braeburn was taking his leave, bidding farewell to his Ponyville cousin.
"Take care! Come on Rarity. The hotter a place is, the longer the sun stays. Don't wanna waste it now do ya?" Rarity was asleep, resting on a nearby chair. She was saving up energy, finally. Applejack sat down next to her, looking far out at the Alolan Sea. Out of it popped Pokemon she had never seen before. Magikarps were splashing about in the water as they were outshined by the further evolved Gyarados which flew out of the ocean and dived back into it with style. Applejack was impressed as she could watch this for a while.
"Mmm... Bug clothes." Rarity mumbled in her sleep, obviously referring to her Sewaddles' back at her shop.
Moving away from Alola, all the way back in Kalos, Rainbow Dash is still on her trainer practice, accompanied by Fluttershy.
"Okay. So that previous encounter was a bust. But no worries. I'm positive the next one will go much smoother. Without any trees falling that is."
"But who was that frog-like Pokemon. I've never seen anything like it."
"No idea. I think its tongue was some sort of scarf or something?" They were referring to Ash's Greninja who had just saved Rainbow's Rufflet and the Eevee from earlier. "You know, I bet I can spot some real good Pokemon if I just look from above!" Rainbow Dash took off into the sky, looking over Santalune Forest. Fluttershy followed but in a much lighter lift-off.
"Do you see anything that catches your eye Rainbow Dash?"
"Hmm... Well, I found that Eevee from earlier, but nothing too interesting. I ain't for catching bugs anyways."
"Oh now don't be like that Rainbow. You never know, Bug types might become a favourite of yours."
"No way. I still haven't gotten over what happened back in Ponyville. Those bugs were blocking out path. For me, I'm aiming for a Pokemon that speaks to me!"
"Well, why not go for all flying types? After all, there's a lot of them compared to most other types besides water."
"That'd be cool and all Fluttershy, but I want a spicy team. If I had only flying types, it'd just be redundant. Now electric types have got me interested. Or maybe even a fire type if I can find one." Rainbow was eager to get the best team she could have. If she had a great collection of Pokemon, she feels like she'd be unstoppable.
"Why not continue to grow with the team you have? I bet you, Whirlipede and Rufflet can bond even if you are a small band. Learning to grow with your current Pokemon will help you learn and understand any potential future team members." Fluttershy had spoken like a true trainer. She wasn't a Pokemon Trainer but she knew how they felt. After all, Pokemon and animals aren't too different from each other.
"Hm.. you got a good point Fluttershy. I'm surprised you managed to understand Pokemon this easily. We've only been mixed with this world for like what a week?"
"Let's head back to Lumiose. I hear there's this place called a Pokemon Center. Your Rufflet might need some healing anyways." The two pegasi flew off, heading back to Lumiose as Greninja stood from a tree, watching them go along.
Lilycove City. Time had come for a contest to begin as the Celestia and the group had already entered the contest halls.
"This'll be exciting. I wonder what a Pokemon's moves like in style. Don't you Luna?"
"Isn't this just parlour tricks? We doubt this will be THAT entertaining." Luna was not for this. She didn't think too much of what contests are capable of. The announcer for the Pokemon Contest, stepped onto the middle of the field, tapping his microphone.
"There we go. Ladies and Gentlemen! And some ponies in the crowd. Today is a new day and the day where the next Pokemon Contest begins. Our first contestant.. hailing from Circhester in the Galar Region, is Contestant Harper!" A female contestant wearing a dress that resembled her partner Pokemon, Roserade.
"And her opposing contestant, hailing from Azalea Town in the Johto Region is Contestant Victoria!" A female contestant who's wearing a dress that had a black and yellow circled pattern that resembled her partner. "The objective is the same and simple as always. Whoever can perform the most wonderful display of skill, will be rewarded with a ribbon. The judges today are Mr Suziko from the Pokemon Fan Club, Mr Contesta and the Nurse Joy from the local Pokemon Center."
"I can't wait to see this. Harper's tricks were my favourite last time." Nurse Joy said.
"Now then. Contestants.. bring out your Pokemon!"
"Roserade! Let's impress them once more!" Harper tossed her Pokeball, sending out her partner Roserade. The Bouquet Pokemon.
"Umbreon. Come out!" Victoria sent her partner out as well. Umbreon, The Moonlight Pokemon.
"Let the contest begin!"
"We'll use something that'll leave this crowd with a great sensation! Roserade! Magical Leaf!" Harper's Roserade spun around, summoning mystical and magical leaves that swirled around it, rising in the air. "Now follow up it up with Sweet Scent!" Roserade puffed out a Sweet Scent from its rose hands. The enticing aroma it has only boosted the Sweet Scent. The entire crowd got a whiff of it, feeling relaxed and good just by its scent alone. The wafting aura of Sweet Scent could be seen as it merged with the leaves, creating a nice combo of pink and green.
"Wow! Not only is it beautiful but it makes you feel so good, don't you think?" Nurse Joy gushed.
"Indeed. Takes me back to my youth, you know." Mr Suziko replied.
"Not bad... Umbreon Moonlight." Umbreon gave the entire halls a nighttime feel. In the middle of the air, a light similar to that of the moon emerged. "Now. Dark Pulse." Using a pulse of darkness, the glow of the moonlight was surrounded by the dark pulse, making it a mix of light and dark. "We've been working hard on this one."
"Ooh. It's like a solar eclipse but reversed. Very nice." Mr Contesta said.
"So far, they've both used some form of colour merging. Let's see what else they can do." Joy retorted. Celestia, Luna and Twilight were into this. They were gawking on how impressive this was. They didn't think Pokemon moves could be used like that.
"Our style is going to that extra oomph, ey? Roserade! Merge Leaf Storm and ride it!" Harper commanded her partner to unleash a storm of leaves as the grass and poison Pokemon began riding on the leaf storm. Since Roserade was known for their graceful movements, they had no trouble moving to the flow of other attacks, especially their own. As Roserade rode on the leaf storm, it twirled around as well, making the leaves apart of its body as it moves around like an ice skater. Then with one final trick, it jumped up with the surrounding leaf storm following it. It then spread its arms and legs, separating the leaf storm as leaves flew everywhere, gently landing down.
"Amazing! I've never seen anything like that before! Using the leaf storm as a ride and becoming on with it. I'd say that could be its own grass type move!" Mr Suziko said, with both the judges being in awe.
"Roserade truly is one of the most elegant Pokemon out there, wouldn't you agree Nurse Joy?"
"100% Mr Contesta!"
"Try and top that Victoria." Harper guffawed at her opposing contestant, thinking that no one could outdo her.
"Oh.. we'll do more than a just top that.." Umbreon. Shadow Ball. Umbreon fired a shadow ball, high up into the air. "Now use psychic and jump on it!" The Moonlight Pokemon then jumped high up, standing on the airborne shadow ball. "Let's more too it. Use Moonlight and then psychic once more!" Umbreon then let out Moonlight once more, but this time, it used psychic. The psychic controlled moonlight was next to the shadow ball as Umbreon directed the two balls into the air with psychic. The darkness of the shadow ball and the brightness of the moonlight accompanied by the purple glow of psychic. Now it truly looks like a solar eclipse. And here came the cherry on top. Umbreon's golden circles begun glowing, giving the shadow ball more light. Now there were beautiful light rays all over the place, shining almost as bright as the sun.
"Spectacular! It actually IS like a Solar Eclipse! The way they stand together with their opposing colours is brilliant!" Nurse Joy said with excitement and wonder in her eyes and voice. Harper was even impressed herself.
"Holy moly."
"Alright. That's the time! The judges will make their decision." Time had run out since this was a much shorter contest than most other ones. It was time for the judges to decide, who had the better display of style and skill.
"Hm. Roserade's first show was both beautiful and had a sweet feeling to it. The sweet scent,s pink wafting aura really helped bring it out. Especially when it became apart of the magical leaf." Mr Suziko said.
"Umbreon's first show was just as good. Having it use dark pulse around the moonlight gave it the feeling similar to that of an aurora. Not to mention how the pulse kept coming out of it like a heartbeat." Mr Contesta followed.
"And for both their second acts, they both did unexpected feats. Riding the leaf storm while dancing around it with such ease and using psychic on both attacks while one of them is truly spectacular." Nurse Joy finished off.
"So to conclude.. we have decided.. that the winner is.." Mr Contesta was about to announce the winner as the crowd and the contestants were waiting for the answer.
"Contestant Victoria!" The three of them said in unison. "That Umbreon trick was brand new. Felt like it was sitting atop a planet!" Sukizo said.
"Yes! Victoria had a look of joy on her face as she gave Umbreon on a hug. "Great job Umbreon!"
"Aw, man... You did your best Roserade." Harper kneeled to comfort her sad and defeated Roserade. Victoria and Umbreon walked over to their defeated opponents.
"Good show." Victoria extended out her arms as Harper held it as they shook hands.
"Yeah. Good show indeed. I might have to visit the Johto Region after this to learn new tricks. The crowd clapped, cheering with applause to such a good show. Celestia and Luna as well. Luna seemed to enjoy this much more than Celestia considering she wasn't too much for it at first.
"That was amazing. They had such grace and beauty doing it!" Twilight said while looking at Ash.
"Yeah. it is pretty wonderful to look at."
"Pikachu!"
"I do wish it was longer but that was wonderful anyways. Thank you for telling us about this Ash." Celestia had thanked Ash. All this time, Ralts had been watching Celestia and the contest going on. Ralts was amazed by what she saw. So much amazing and wonderful tricks were put on display. It was enough to put a big smile on her face.
Time had come for the crowd to leave the contest hall. Every human and pony let themselves out, heading home.
"That was AMAZING! WE ENJOYED THAT VERY MUCH, ASH KETCHUM!" Luna yelled with happiness and joy.
"Glad you liked it. There are more contest halls out there and they all have something to bring to the table."
"Pika Pika."
"I guess Pokemon can be beautiful themselves. I mean that Roserade was beautiful and that Umbreon too. Despite being a little bit creepy." Twilight said.
"Though it did look kinda cool when those yellow circles on it started glowing. You gotta admit." Spike replied to her.
Ralts kept teleporting, sneaking around just to see Celestia. However, the sun alicorn already knew Ralts was near.
"I know you're there Ralts." Ralts jumped in surprise as it hid behind another building, peeking out.
"That Ralts sure does like you princess," Spike said. Ralts walked up to her again, hugging her hoof once more. Celestia looked at Ralts, thinking for a bit.
"Ralts. Do you... want to come with me perhaps?" When Ralts heard this, its happiness grew. It nodded its head aggressively, jumping for joy as it was about to go with the pony that caught its attention. "Then it settled. I'll take very good care of you." Ralts jumped onto Celestia's back, unable to contain its happiness. Neither could Celestia. "Hehe. My very first Pokemon... This is all new to me."
"Congratulations Princess!" Twilight congratulated her teacher.
"Having a Ralts is super special. Not many can have one ya know. What are you gonna call her?" Ash asked.
"Well.. she looks timid and shy but can be very expressive and happy. So I believe I'll call her Passion. Does that sound nice Ralts?"
"Ralts! Ralts!" Ralts obviously agreed 100%.
"Great. Now then. How does the Sinnoh Region sound?"
"We should be careful not to waste too much time, sister. We have to bring up the moon eventually."
"Oh right right." As the group walked on off to the rift gateways. Their next visit is up ahead.
