Deep inside the Everfree Forest, Zecora was humming as she was stirring potions in a enormous brew. She was just about to reach for a few herbs to add to her recipe when Pinkie Pie managed to drop by.
“Hi, Zecora!” Pinkie Pie said as she entered. “I’m home! Boy you’ve got a recipe cooking! Whatcha got?” She asked as she saw the vat.
Zecora looked at the pink pony and smiled. “Hello, Pinkie Pie! I’m glad you stopped by!” Zecora said. Pinkie smiled back. “I’m making a ominous brew...one that can help cure thoose!”
Pinkie trotted in. “Y’know, it’s hard to believe that it’s only been a few weeks since we got married?” Zecora nodded in excitement. “Oh, boy! What I had to do to not only plan this wedding, but also make sure ours goes perfect.”
“I know it was such a delight to come into love in the light.” Zecora said as she started seductively to her wife. “How are the cakes? Do they have anything to bake?”
“The cakes are doing fine!” Pinkie told her. “Mr. & Mrs. Cake are doing really well with Sugarcube Corner with the help of Cheese Sandwich! I’ve already scheduled a babysit session with Pound and Pumpkin Tuesday, and this house has a good serene feel to it!”
Zecora giggled and smiled. “I’m glad you had no harm.” She said. “These star necklaces were the right charm.”
“They sure were!” Pinkie said. “I’m glad I didn’t sell them. I mean can you believe what would’ve happened if we did?” They both shared a giggle. She looked around a little nervously. “I hope I’m not interrupting your time with Applebloom, am I? I don’t want to be a burden with her coming to learn new potions and all...”
“Oh, Pinkie! You’re doing nothing wrong.” Zecora told her. “It’d be great if Applebloom had someone to help along.”
“Oh, okay!” Pinkie said. “I’ll go get some of the herbs you needed in your kitchen!” And she went to the kitchen to get some of the herbs.
Zecora smiled because knowing Pinkie Pie, and that she had someone to help plan and gather stuff for potions, she was happy to have someone she really loved. What could possibly go wrong?
At that moment, Zecora felt a sharp pain in her belly and dropped her mixing spoon in the vat as she fell, grasping in to her tummy. She groaned that it caught Pinkie Pie’s attention. “What’s wrong, Zecora?” She asked. “Are you sick? You need medicine?? What???”
“Ms. Pie...” Zecora started to say. “This is a river flow, and now I’m am feeling quite a blow.” She groaned as she held her tummy in pain.
Pinkie Pie was confused at what she just said, but she instantly realized what this meant when she saw her in this state. “OH MY GOSH!” She said. “YOUR WATER BROKE! YOU’RE GOING INTO LABOR!” Pinkie Scurried about for ways to help, then stopped. “No! Zecora needs me!” She thought. “I can’t leave her like this!” She carefully picked up her wife and started out the door. “Don’t worry, Zecora! We’ll help you find a way to get you to the place....” she then notice Twilight and Applebloom heading up to her cottage, and not a minute toon soon! “Oh, good!” She said in relief. “Uh, Twilight? Applebloom? A little help?” The two ponies took notice of how Pinkie was carrying her wife and the state she was in and understood as they all rushed Zecora to the hospital in no time flat!
They managed to get her in the delivery room Lickety-Split, and went back to the waiting room to wait. After a half hour or so they were called into the delivery room and were surprised to see Zecora struggling to maintain her breath as she breathed to get her kid.
“How is she going to be, Doctor?” Applebloom asked in shock and worry. “Is she going to be alright?”
“She’s going to be fine.” The nurse said. “Luckily, she has friends like you that got her there in jiffy. For now, all she needs to do is breathe and push!”
“Come on, Zecora!” Pinkie Pie said as Zecora did her deep, and hard breathing. “All you needs to do is push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push!”
“And breathe in and out!” Applebloom said with determination. “Keep pushing!”
“Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push!” Twilight said.
“And breathe in and out.” Applebloom said. Finally, Zecora Pushed with all her might as a head came out, followed by a body, hooves and last but not least, a tail. Twilight, Pinkie and Applebloom were all excited that the baby was out and she was about to be welcomed into the world.
“Congratulations!” The nurse said. “You have just bored a baby girl!”
“And, she’s an Earth Pony too!” Applebloom said in glee as she saw the baby start to move.
“I don’t believe it!” Zecora said happily and surprised. “This is my dream! And the babies are so cute I want to treat her carefully like a toy!” The Baby was confused for a second until Pinkie spoke up.
“Uh, Zecora?” Pinkie said. “I don’t think she knows what a toy is!” Zecora blushed in excitement and a teeny bit of embarrassment.
The baby filly appeared to be a pink earth pony with a bubbly mane and tail like Pinkie’s, only black. She even had tribal markings on her like Zecora, because she was a Zebra. Her eyes were like Pinkie’s too. She was like a pony/zebra hybrid.
“What should we name her?” Pinkie asked, turning to her friends for help. They thought hard about what name they could possibly give her.
Finally, Applebloom spoke up. “How about Confetti Cauldron?” She asked. “Because she’s pink & bubbly like Pinkie Pie, and she has zebra markings like Zecora!”
“Confetti Cauldron...” Pinkie thought for a while. “That sounds like a good name, considering she look a little bit like both of us!”
Zecora Looked at her new daughter and smiled. “I agree, that is a great name for us to see.”
“Welcome to the world, Confetti Cauldron.” Pinkie said calmly, as she carefully stoked her mane, while Zecora held it carefully for all to see. Twilight and Applebloom ooohed and aaaahed at the sight of her.
Confetti Cauldron looked at her family and new friends and smiled so brightly she almost stuck her youngest out in joy like the cake twins. “Pie!” She said for the first time!
Applebloom gasped. “Her first word!” She said, while tearing up happily.
“I know Confetti Cauldron will have a great family like you two.” Twilight said while the filly’s moms smiled. “And she’ll have great friends like us.” She and Applebloom both smiled at the new filly, who smiled back too.
“Our Daughter.” Pinkie said as she and Zecora looked at their daughter and smiled with delight.
“I know you two will love her with all her heart.” Applebloom said. As they all smiled at how beautiful and cute she was. Confetti Cauldron was welcomed into the world to meet her parents and make new friends on the day she was born.
