At the Castle of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle, the princess of Friendship, was sitting in her library reading a book. As she read her book, she looked up and smiled at the recent events that have happened lately.
She recently married the element of Kindness...one of her best friends, Fluttershy and it has been quite some time since her kind friend confessed her love for her. She let out a sigh of happiness as she was already starting her life with Fluttershy as a married couple.
Now, ever since Fluttershy confessed her love to Twilight, she herself got pregnant with her friend’s foal. Since then, she had been wondering what would happen if she did get born. That was yet to be decided...but even so, sometimes the biggest surprises can come unexpectedly.
Spike came in to see his sister reading a book. He smiled as he greeted her as usual. “Hi, Twilight.” He said. “How you doin?”
Twilight saw her assistant and smiled. “Hey, Spike.” She said. “What’s up?”
“Well, I just wanted to say that now that you’re married, I think you and Fluttershy will have a good future together.” Spike told her.
Twilight smiled as her cheeks blushed lightly. “Yes, Spike.” She said. “I think so too. I just can’t believe that I finally got married to one of my best friends after confessing her love for HOW long!” She gulped. “I meant in a good way.”
“That’s great to hear.” Spike said contentedly. “Also, I’ve been wondering about your kid.”
“My kid?” Twilight asked, smiling. “Yeah, you sure have.”
“I’m wondering if your baby will be a boy or a girl.” Spike asked her.
“I don’t know that yet, Spike.” Twilight said as she patted her assistant’s scaled head gently. “You’ll just have to find out when the time comes.”
“I hope it’s a boy, so that I can play catch with him, show him the ways of virtual box and—“ Spike started.
“Like I said, Spike. You’ll have to wait and see.” She said to him. “But, it’s great to hope about what my kid will be like.”
Spike smiled as he nodded as he started to leave the room. “Hey, do you know when you’ll be having the baby, Twi?” He asked as he turned to her before he left.
“Well, it could take some time for it to come.” She said. “But, knowing my friends, and my wife and you...I bet the baby could most likely come before you know it.”
“That’s great, Twilight.” Spike said. “Well, I’m just gonna go see Rainbow Dash. Bye!” He then dashed out of the library.
Twilight smiled and rolled her eyes in content as she got back to reading her book. She was just about to read a passionate page in her book when suddenly, she felt a kick in her stomach. Twilight wondered where that was coming from. She didn’t see anything unusual except her bulging belly and went back to reading. Just then, she felt her tummy rip itself apart as water flowed through the cut. Twilight’s water broke! She groaned in pain as Spike rushed inside.
“What’s wrong, Twi?” Spike asked. “Is something wrong??”
Twilight was trying to breathe softly for dear life, but it was hard as her water just recently broke. “Spike!...I...I think my...water...”
“What’s going on, Twilight?” Spike asked getting worried.
“I...I...” Twilight couldn’t speak normally in this condition as she was going to burst any minute! She took in a quick deep breath as she shouted in pain across the castle. “FLUTTERSHY!”
At that moment, her wife, Fluttershy rushed inside the room and saw that her wife was grunting in pain. “Twilight!” She said in shock. “What’s happening?!”
“Twilight’s in pain, and I don’t know what’s happening!” Spike said, getting a little more frantic.
“My...My water...just broke!” Twilight managed to gasp out.
Spike gasped as he knew what that meant. “Twilight’s water broke!” He said in alarm! “She’s going into labor!”
Fluttershy gasped at this discovery at what was happening to her wife. “Oh my goodness!” She said in shock. “We gotta get her to the hospital quick!” Spike nodded as they both carefully picked up Twilight and flew her out of the castle and right to the Ponyville hospital.
The others took notice of their friend being flown to the hospital and quickly trailed them. Rainbow Dash was a little panicked that Twilight’s water broke recently. “Ohmygosh!” Rainbow said in shock. “Did Twilight’s water break? Is she going to die? What about her baby?! What could be wrong?”
Everyone else looked to each other and then all turned to Applejack. The farm mare sighed and ran closer up to Rainbow. “Don't you think you're bein' a little paranoid?” she asked.
Rainbow Dash seemed to calm down slightly, “But, why else would the Twilight’s water break at such an unexpected time and in such a hurry?” She asked.
Everyone gave a sigh of frustration, “Ah don’t know, but maybe a ‘How you doin’?’ might be why and the scrolls said to come when we can, not as soon as possible, not immediately, not five minutes ago, when we can.” Applejack said in frustration.
As Rainbow Dash seemed to calm down, Starlight Glimmer sighed, “You better make this go faster, I don’t know how long until Rainbow freaks out again.” she said to Rarity who nodded, and they soon arrived at the Ponyville Hospital. Once they arrived, Rainbow and Cozy quickly flew inside. The rest sighed and then followed suit at a more moderate pace.
As Twilight and her wife, along with Spike came in, Spike got the doctor’s attention. “Help! Please!” He said, hyperventilating and in a panic. “Twilight’s...water...just broke.”
“She’s going into labor!” Fluttershy said shocked.
The doctor immediately took notice upon seeing her in this state. “Oh, ye gads!” He said. “Well, no wonder.” He quickly and carefully put her on a operating table. “Wheel her into surgery! Go! Go! Go!” Fluttershy and Spike both pushed the try inside the room for Twilight’s delivery.
At that moment, the rest of the Mane six came and rushed in to see their friend. “We have to see Twilight at once!” Rainbow Dash said frantically. “It’s an emergency!”
“Sorry, we can’t take much more mares inside the operating room.” The doctor told them. “You’ll all have to stay in the waiting area for now.”
“Oh COME ON!” Rainbow shouted in worry and anger. She felt that they had all come to see their friend for naught.
At that moment, Fluttershy and Spike came back in the room and saw their friends shocked and disappointed that they couldn’t see Twilight. The Pegasus and drake nodded as they went up to their friends. “Oh, thank Celestia you’re here!” Starlight said in relief to see their friends!
“Fluttershy, Darling!” Rarity told the kind Pegasus. “We’re worried about Twilight. She’s been in there for a long time!” She was about to go into her dramatic phase and faint on a couch while crying.
“Girls, it’s perfectly normal for births to take a while.” Fluttershy told her friends. “It’s hard work.”
“Fluttershy’s right.” Spike said in agreement. “Don’t worry, If I know Twilight, She can totally handle this!”
The others’ ears perked up when they heard that. “Really?” They all asked.
They nodded, and the hospital doors swung open. “You may all come in now.” The doctor called out. The girls exchanged looks of worry and determination as they slowly walked inside the delivery room and saw Twilight grunting, trying to get her baby out of her tummy.
The others were worried about her. “How is she doing, Doctor?” Starlight Glimmer asked.
“Is she going to be okay?” Pinkie Pie asked worriedly as well.
“Yes. She’ll be alright.” The doctor told them. “The only thing she has to know is that all of us are here with her. She just needs to breathe in and out a few times.” Twilight did so as soon as he was talking to them. “All she needs to do now is push.”
Applejack came to her side. “C’mon, Sugarcube.” She said. “Y’all can do it! You just gotta push!”
“We believe you can do this, Darling!” Rarity said warming and smiling.
“Come on, Twilight.” Cozy said. “You can do it! Push harder.”
“You can do it, Twilight!” Pinkie said encouraging.
“Come on, Twilight!” Starlight said, a little worried.
“Do it for all of Equestria!” Rainbow said excitedly and nervously. “Push! push! push! push!”
Pretty soon, everyone joined into Rainbow’s cheer as they all encouraged her to push. “Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push! Push!” They all said.
They kept saying push a myriad of times as Twilight did her breathing! Finally, a unicorn head popped out, followed by a body, some Pegasus wings and arms and legs! Twilight’s Baby was born at last! “YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!” They all cheered for her.
“Congratulations!” The doctor said to them. “The Baby is a girl.” They all surrounded their friend to see her. She appeared to be a baby alicorn, matching Fluttershy’s appearance with a body and mane like Her. She had a unicorn horn on her head and her coat was a yellowish green. She had eyes just like Twilight’s, and her mane was coloured like Twilight’s as well. Twilight smiled as she took her baby into her arms and hugged it gently. The others saw smiled heartwarming as well as tears of joy ran through every pony’s faces.
“What do you think, Girls?” Twilight asked them. “How do you like her?”
“I think she looks adorable, Twilight.” Applejack said.
“I agree with Applejack.” Pinkie joined in. “She is so sweet.”
“Ah! They are so cute that they are most adorable darlings you ever seen!” Rarity said as tears of joy come through her.
“They are so cute!” Starlight said.
“She is adorable.” Cozy Glow said. “I can’t wait until she gets older, so we can show her how to be a good princess.”
“I agree with Cozy.” Spike said, smiling with tears in his eyes. “She is so sweet.”
“I agree with each and every one of you!” Twilight said softly as she smiled and saw her daughter for the very first time.
“Me too.” Fluttershy said as she went over to her wife’s side and saw their daughter for the very first time. She kissed her daughter on the cheek. “She’s beautiful.” She said to Twilight. “What should we name her?”
The filly opened her eyes and smiled sweetly at her mothers. Twilight saw that her eyes and mane sparkled, but she almost looked like she was one to blend in with the serene backgrounds to stand out in the nice forests...similar to Snow White. “Mama.” The filly said.
“Awwwwww.....” they all said.
“Her first word too!” Twilight said and then, she thought of a great name for her. “Serenity. Sparking Serenity.”
The others thought Sparkling Serenity was a good name because not only it matched Twilight’s personality of her last name, but also like Fluttershy as she was serene in the outdoors. “I like that name.” Rainbow Dash said. “Sparkling Serenity. It almost matches both of your personalities.” The others nodded as well.
“It sure does.” Twilight said as she and her wife looked at their daughter as she smiled at them. “Our daughter.” She said sweetly.
“We’ll make sure she has a great family here that loves her.” The others nodded as they surrounded the baby, and looked at her with praise, love and adoration for Twilight’s new daughter. “We’ll love her with all our heart.” Fluttershy said. They all embraced her with all the love they would give her. Twilight finally had her baby after such a long time since that night with her and Discord. She would have a loving family to help her guide the way into the magic of Friendship and help her make new friends along the way too.
Sparkling Serenity would have a family...and friends, and maybe something more.
