After registering for the Lavender Town Contest Turquoise and Rarity were doing some Training for the contest tomorrow.

“ Sylveon use Swift,” Rarity commanded as Sylveon unleashed her swift attack.

“ Espeon use confusion. Espeon used her confusion to send the swift back only for Rarity to counter with disarming voice and caused both moves to cancel each other out.

“ We are so ready for this,” Rarity said.

“ We sure are,” Turquoise said. As they were talking a crowd gathered to see a boy with blonde hair wearing a tuxedo and a strange-looking mask appear and challenge another trainer and his Gourgeist to a battle. The masked boy had a creepy looking ghost-like creature with a mouth on its stomach and a single eye and a head with an antenna on it.

“ What kind of Pokemon is that?” Turquoise asked as she pulled out her Pokedex.

“ Dusknoir. The Gripper Pokemon. At the bidding of transmissions from the spirit world, it steals people and Pokémon away. No one knows whether it has a will of its own,” The Pokedex said.

“ Time to finish this Dusknoir use Shadow Punch. Dusknoir punched forward and projected a fist made of black energy at Gourgeist and sent it flying before it fainted.

“ You win this round Phantom but you won’t win the contest,” The other Trainer said before running off with his Gourgeist.

“ Looks like we have some real competition,” Rarity said. As soon as she said that a limo was approaching and the Phantom began to panic and used a smokeball to escape without realizing he dropped something. A lady with blonde hair dressed in an evening gown with a fur stole approached where the Phantom once stood and picked up the object he dropped.

“ Dang it, he got away again,” The Women said trying to be careful not to crush what she was holding. 

“ Are you ok mam,” Rarity asked.

“ Of course I’m not ok my son is nowhere to be seen and this Phantom Character got away,” The woman said before taking a deep breath to calm herself down. “ Apologies for losing my cool. I'm just worried about my son Kyle. But where are my manners? I'm Mrs.Sakura.

“ Pleasure to meet you I’m Turquoise,” Turquoise said.

“ And I’m Rarity,” Rarity said.

“ And I’m Twilight,” Twilight said.

“ Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said nervously.

“ And I’m Applejack,” Applejack said.

“ And I can tell all of you are Pokemon Trainers,” Sakura said.

“ We are,” Turquoise said.

“ Please come with me I think you girls will be able to help me,” Sakura said before inviting them into her limo. Sometime later the girls arrived in front of a mansion on the outskirts of Lavender Town. After arriving inside the girls and Mrs. Sakura had a seat before Mrs. Sakura had her butler bring them all something to drink. “ Now on to why I brought you all here. I want you to help find my son.

“ We will help but first can you tell us why your son ran away?” Twilight asked.

“ It all started a few days ago,” Mrs. Sakura said before flashing back.





A few days ago a boy with blonde hair and purple eyes was busy with his homework when Mrs. Sakura barged in upset.

“ Your teacher called and told me you were sleeping in class again,” Mrs. Sakura shouted in anger.

“ So what if I had. I aced the test didn’t I,” The Boy said.

“ With an 85 that is unacceptable you know we Sakuras strive for nothing less than perfection,” Mrs. Sakura said.

“ Well perfection is overrated and impossible,” Kyle said.

“ I can't believe what I just heard. That’s it you are grounded,” Mrs. Sakura shouted.

“ No, I’m not because Dusknoir and I are out of here,” Kyle said as he ran off with his Dusknoir using Confuse ray on Mrs. Sakura. By the time Mrs. Sakura recovered Kyle and Dusknoir were completely gone.





“ And so ever since they left I asked his teachers if they saw him but they said Kyle has not been to school for the past few days. I even asked Officer Jenny to help find him but even she was unsuccessful,” Mrs. Sakura said.

“ What do you plan on doing should we find Kyle and bring him back here?” Turquoise asked.

“ One thing is for sure he will never see the outside of this mansion ever again,” Mrs. Sakura said sternly.

“ So you’re going to keep him locked up here like some prisoner?” Turquoise said in shock.

“ I am his mother and as such when children misbehave they must be punished,” Mrs. Sakura said.

“ Well you can just find Kyle on your own we are out of here,” Turquoise said in an angry tone before storming off.

“ Turquoise wait,” Twilight shouted before running after her. Turquoise was on the outskirts of the town when she bumped into a boy that matched Mrs. Sakura’s description.

“ You were one of the coordinators at the contest hall,” The boy said.

“ And I’m guessing your Kyle?” Turquoise said.

“ How did you know my name?” Kyle asked.

“ Your mom approached me and my friends to help find you and bring you home,” Turquoise said.

“ I never want to go back to that monster or that prison,” Kyle said defensively.

“ Calm down Kyle I know what you mean and I did not come to take you back. I came out here to get away and cool off,” Turquoise said.

“ There you are Turquoise,” Twilight said trying to catch her breath.

“ Did you come here to take Kyle back to his monstrous mother?” Turquoise asked.

“ No, I came to check on you. Why did you storm off like that?” Twilight asked.

“ Because Mrs.Sakura just revealed to me that she is the type of person I hate. The kind that thinks their kids are nothing but pawns they can control and do with how they please,” Turquoise said.

“ I know you think what she said she would do with Kyle is wrong but we have no right to tell her how to raise her son,” Twilight said.

“ So you’re against me as well?” Turquoise said.

“ I’m not against anyone. I agree no one deserves to be locked up forever but what can we do about it?” Twilight asked.

“ Not go back obviously,” Turquoise said.

“ But what will Kyle do about food and shelter he can’t live out here forever,” Twilight pointed out.

“ Actually I have those covered. Do you girls want to see something cool?” Kyle asked.

“ Sure,” Turquoise said.

“ Guess I don't have a choice,” Twilight said. Sometime later Kyle showed Turquoise and Twilight a bush by a cliffside.

“ A bush that’s what you wanted to show us?” Twilight said before Kyle went into the bush and motioned for them to follow him. After following him the girls went through an opening in the cliffside which revealed to be a door that leads to a massive two-story hideout with all the necessities of home.

“ Welcome to my Secret Base,” Kyle said.

“ This really is the coolest thing I ever saw. Did you make this yourself?” Turquoise asked.

“ My dad helped me make it. He and his partner Excadrill hollowed out the inside of the cliff and had his muscle crew build the supports and second floor. I was the one who decorated it,” Kyle said while pulling a bottle of Soda Pop from the fridge. “ My mom does not know about this place so I often come here to be alone when she gets on my case.

“ Where is your dad?” Turquoise asked.

“ Currently at a business conference in Celadon City. I wish he were here right now. He would always cheer me up when Mom attacks me,” Kyle said.





Back at the Mansion Rarity and the others were trying to grasp what just happened.

“ I never saw Turquoise act like this before,” Rarity said.

“ I know that was scary,” Fluttershy said while brushing Zorua who looked scared after seeing Turquoise storm off.

“ I hope Twilight is ok and I hope she can bring her back,” Applejack said.

“ I just hope they find my Kyle and convince him to give up this contest nonsense,” Mrs. Sakura said which struck a nerve with Rarity.

“ Excuse me did you just call contests nonsense?” Rarity said defensively.

“ I did and so is anything to do with Pokemon,” Mrs. Sakura said.

“ Lady you just crossed the line and just for that you can forget about us helping you. Come on girls we have to find Turquoise and Twilight,” Applejack said before the guards stopped them and stole all their Pokemon.

“ You girls will be helping or you will never see your ridiculous Pokemon ever again,” Mrs. Sakura said vindictively. Applejack tried to beat up the guards but failed.

“ Zorua go and find Turquoise and Twilight, they are our only hope,” Fluttershy said as she threw Zorua through the open window. After fleeing the Mansion grounds Zorua picked up on Turquoise’s scent and followed it.





Back at Kyle’s Secret Base Turquoise and Kyle were playing video games on his TV when Twilight felt like she had to ask the obvious question that’s been eating at her this whole time.

“ How exactly do you have running power in this place?” Twilight asked.

“ I’m glad you asked when my dad noticed there was a waterfall next to this place he built a small Hydroelectric Generator by magnetizing some iron bars, Melting down some copper to make giant copper disks and built a water wheel then hooked some gears to it and the two copper disks. So I have a limitless supply of power generated by nature itself,” Kyle said. As they were talking Kyle heard the sound of the bush hiding the entrance to his secret base rustle and prepared to attack the intruder when it was revealed to be a Zorua.

“ Hold your fire that’s my Zorua,” Turquoise said as she noticed Zorua looked exhausted. After giving Zorua some Soda Pop Zorua recovered enough to try and explain what was happening with Rarity and the others. Turquoise could not understand what Zorua was saying so she switched to using her Illusion Ability. Zorua transformed into Mrs. Sakura and laughed evilly then turned into Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy who all looked like they were in danger.

“ Mrs. Sakura is holding our friends and their pokemon hostage and if we don,t do something we will never get them back?” Turquoise asked which Zorua nodded yes.

“ We need to do something,” Twilight said.

“ Wait I’m coming with,” Kyle said while donning the outfit of the Phantom.

“ So you’re the mysterious Phantom,” Turquoise said.

“ I am. I do this so my mom does not recognize me when I’m training and battling,” Kyle said. Sometime later Turquoise and Twilight along with the Phantom arrived just in time to save the others.

“ Let those girls go you vile villain,” The Phantom said in his heroic voice.

“ Why don’t you take that ridiculous costume off Kyle,” Mrs. Sakura said which shock Kyle.

“ How did you know it was me?” Kyle said as he took his mask off.

“ I believe you dropped this,” Mrs. Sakura said as she threw Kyle his pocket watch with a Duskull engraving on the cover. “ Your father bought you that pocket watch for your eighth birthday and we know you never leave home without it. Now give up this ridiculous game and come home.

“ Never you don,t give a Ponyta’s flank about me you only care about yourself. At least dad treats me like a person and not some pawn in your insane game of life,” Kyle said.

“ Well dad is not here and your my son and I have every right to do with you as I please,” Mrs. Sakura said evilly.

“ I’m right here and I just heard everything Nora,” A man said as he entered the room.

“ Timmy? when did you get back?” Nora said in a shocked tone.

“ Just now and I must say you are the worst mother and wife I ever had,” Timmy said.

“ Dad, thank goodness your back,” Kyle said.

“ Sorry for not being here sooner those suits in Celadon would not shut up unless I agreed with their plan to tear down the old rocket game corner,” Timmy said.

“ Well your son got a B on his history test and ran away from home and even had that horrid Dusknoir of his attack me,” Nora said outraged.

“ All I did was have him use Confuse Ray on you. It does not harm anyone just blinds them long enough for a quick escape,” Kyle said in his defense.

“ Nora I am done with you now,” Timmy said with as much authority as he had.

“ Good luck trying to get rid of me. Did you forget about our defense team,” Nora said.

“ I did not. You see, that business conference was not the only reason I went to Celadon City. I also went there to file these,” Timmy said as he pulled out some divorce papers that were approved. “ Now get off of my property before I have security throw you out. After Nora was escorted off the premises Timmy turned to Turquoise and the others. “ I apologize for everything that vile woman put you through.

“ It’s ok as long as Kyle is now free that’s all that matters,” Twilight said.

“ Dad, why does mom I mean Nora hate pokemon so much?” Kyle asked.

“ She could never hate Pokemon when she was a little younger than you. She had a Zorua she loved more than anything but her parents took that Zorua away from her because they only cared about her inheriting their company. So as time went on she closed her heart off from all Pokemon. I even had to keep my Dusclops a secret from her which is why I gave him to you,” Timmy said.

“ I never knew my grandparents were that cruel and heartless,” Kyle said.

“ Well, now you do but let’s not dwell on that anymore. I believe you have a Pokemon Contest to train for,” Timmy said.

“ Your right, thanks dad,” Kyle said as he put his mask back on and rushes out the door with his Dusknoir.

“ He reminds me so much about myself at his age,” Timmy said to himself. “ So where are you girls going now?

“ Right now back to the Pokemon Center to prepare for tomorrow’s contest,” Turquoise said.

“ Are you girls competing as well?” Timmy asked.

“ Just Turquoise and Rarity the rest of us are watching,” Applejack said.

“ Well best of luck to you two,” Timmy said before the girls left. After returning to the Pokemon Center The girls decided to call it a night.
