So, um, my name's Maggie. Well, I guess you probably could've pieced that together from the title of the chapter, eh? Well, even so, it's a pleasure to meet all of you!
Ummm... Let's see. What do you need to know?
Oh, yeah, um... I'm 16 years old. Um. Me and my brother, Luke, are going to do something really stupid in the next chapter, but don't worry! Everything will work out just fine... Right?
Well, uh, anyways... I guess I can see if Luke wants you guys to know anything about him before the story starts.
Ummm... Dang it! Where is he?
"Hey, Bro! You gotta come talk to the readers! The story's gonna start soon!"
Hmmm... So you're the ones who are going to be reading our story. I was curious to see who all would turn up, but I have to admit you're not what I expected. God, this is so weird. Why are we even sharing this story in the first place?
Well, I guess that if you didn't skip this chapter, you probably want to know a little bit about me. My name's Luke. I'm Maggie's admittedly overprotective, 21-year-old brother. She likes to call me a stick-in-the-mud, but I'm just a little overly cautious.
Also, you'll have to excuse my sister. She was probably really nervous to talk to you all, wasn't she. She can get a little... um... excitable, I guess you could say.
But hey, nobody's perfect. I can assure you I'm not. I just hope to the gods, the old and the new, that this story has a happy ending. It is our story, after all.
If it doesn't have a happy ending, then what does that mean for us?
