A Tale of a Loving Sister

Chapter 11: A Rainy Day at Rarity’s

It was the afternoon of a partly cloudy day at Canterlot High School, and weather reports said it might rain. Chase was sitting with his sister and her friends and eating lunch with them, but this time, he was eating chicken nuggets and waffle fries, and a small soda can.

Rarity was looking at Chase, then thought of something she started to inspire. “Sunset, would it be alright if I took Chase over to my boutique? It’s not just for clothes. I just want to spend some time with him, since Sweetie Belle will be out for the rest of the afternoon and evening.” Sunset realized what Rarity meant. “Yeah, I don’t mind,” she said. “And yes, he can sleepover, since it’s Friday. I’ll bring his stuff over later.” Rarity nodded.

“So, Applejack, how did it go last night at the farm?” Sunset asked Applejack. “Oh, it went pretty well. He was playing hide and seek with the girls, then we had steak for dinner, and then I let him lay next to me on the hammock, but he was curled up next to me and... just to be clear,... I kinda let him lay his head on my stomach.”

The girls were shocked and amazed at this. “Awww, so cute,” Pinkie Pie said. “He must’ve been such a little angel,” Fluttershy said. “By the way, spring is almost here, and I’ve thought about taking Chase to the beach next time we decide to go, because I was thinking about making him a cute little swimsuit.” The girls made a “d’awww“ reaction, then went to class after the bell rang.

After class ended, Rarity took Chase’s hand and then took him to her boutique. “Rarity, is that you, mon ami?” a female voice spoke up from behind her. The two turned around and saw a older girl who looked like a high school student in senior year.

She had a accent mixed with both British and French. She had pale pink hair with a pearlier tint and a fleur de lis hair clip on it, white skin, pale purple eyes, glossy fingernails, and lavender eyeshadow. She wore a light gray short sleeve jacket with gold buttons over a grayish lavender shirt with a oval shaped center which was showing off some of her cleavage and had a small pink bow clipped on the shirt, a pale black skirt with two small pale purple and one pale gold fleur de lis symbols on it, pale navy blue crop pants, gold bracelets, and wore navy blue high heels with silver fleur de lis buckles.

Rarity gasped in delight and went to hug her friend. “Fleur, darling! It’s so good to see you!” she exclaimed, then they both fake-kissed each other’s cheeks. “It’s always a pleasure, dear. I was just passing by until I saw you over here, so I thought I’d come by and say hello to my favorite fashionista,” Fleur explained, then she saw Chase hiding behind Rarity’s legs. “Oh, my goodness gracious me! Whoever is this sweet and handsome young man? He’s so adorable!”

Rarity patted Chase’s head and held him closer to her leg. “This is Sunset’s brother, Chase. She’s adopting him. Darling, this is Fleur de Lis, a very excellent supermodel and a good friend of mine.”

“You’re being adopted by Sunset Shimmer?” Fleur asked. “Awwww, that is so adorable!” She placed her manicured hands on his face and gently gave him a tender kiss on both his cheeks, until Chase started to blush. Then, she took him and sat down with him on her lap and sat next to Rarity. “So, how old is he?” Fleur asked. “Oh, he’s 4 years old.” Rarity said. “I also heard about your aunt and parents yesterday. Is this true you were abused?” Fleur asked, then Chase nodded. “Aww, you poor dear.” She stroked Chase’s hair and then lowered his head onto her soft chest. “Sunset has planned to adopt the poor boy after his aunt was arrested. She just needed help from someone by her side to help sign them.”

“Oh... well, I’m sure someone like Sunset would love to raise this sweet thing by herself,” Fleur said sweetly. “Anyway, I should get going. I have some studying to do before spring break starts.” Rarity nodded, then Fleur kneeled down one more time and put her fingers under Chase’s chin. “It was nice meeting you, Chase.” She kissed his nose, then walked home. “You should also get to your house quickly, because it might rain soon. Au revoir!” She then continued to walk home, after she winked at Chase.

“Rarity?” Chase asked. “Yes, darling?” Rarity asked. “She’s pretty nice,” he said. “Why is she nice?” “Well, Chase, she has a charming personality for other people meaning she is very respectful, and she is also very well caught up with her studies on modeling talents because she wants to be a supermodel when she grows up, like the ones on magazines or newspapers.” Chase then realized what she said, then Rarity took Chase’s hand and they both continued walking to the boutique.

After Rarity and Chase got out of the rain and lightning, she was carrying him inside and then saw his stuff in her living room and set him down. Rarity went to get a towel and wrapped Chase in it, then he was dried off. He then looked out the window and saw all that rain pouring down, and then started to feel disappointed that he didn’t get to go play in the park.

Rarity then thought of something that can cheer him up. “Chase, since you’re staying for the night, I’ll let you sleep with me tonight. Sound fair, darling?” Rarity asked, then Chase nodded in a reply. “I’m going to go work on some dresses, and I’ll hang out with you later. You can play with your toys if you want, and please don’t touch any of these dresses. They’re really delicate, and really expensive for me to make.” Chase then nodded and went to the couch depressed after she went upstairs to work on some of her dresses.

He took out his coloring books and did some coloring, but he then looked at his locket and firmly grasped it, until a tear fell from his eye. “Do you still miss your mother, darling?” Rarity asked, when she saw him crying. He nodded, then she about wearing some outfits that would cheer him up, but she would have to feed him some dinner and give him a bath first.

While Rarity was changing into the first outfit she picked for Chase to see, but to be appropriate due to Sunset’s permission, he was sitting on the bed waiting for her to be done. “Ugh, I’m so bored! When is she gonna be done?” he asked himself, rolling on the bed.

“Chase, are you ready, dear?” Rarity asked. “Yeah, but what did you want to show me?” Chase asked. “Ok, then. Better brace yourself, darling,” she said, until Rarity opened the bedroom door and stepped inside the room. When she came in, she was wearing a slimmed sleeveless pantsuit covered in gems and colored in a mixture of black and navy blue. Her other attire included a gem covered cape, black gloves, and gem covered shoes. While Rarity flapped her cape, Chase went to her and then hid under her cape. Unexpectedly, Rarity found him and gave him some tickles.

The next outfit she wore was a musical styled short skirt dress and two sided leggings and sandals in two different shades of pink and blue. Rarity showed Chase how she plays the key-tar, then he clapped. Rarity fixed her hair and then winked her eye at him.

The third outfit she wore was a light blue and purple gradient and glittery party dress with purple sandals and her hair in a ponytail. She and Chase danced for a little while. Rarity held Chase in her arms and Chase held her hand and had one arm around her waist, and he leaned his head on her chest.

The fourth outfit she wore was a light blue cropped shirt, but her belly was covered by a long two layered purple skirt. She had her dress covered by a tan glittery flappy jacket, and she wore a gold chain necklace, a tan headband, tan booted sandals with silver flaps and and purple soles on her feet and gold studded bracelets on her wrists. She danced to some disco music and Chase danced along.

The fifth and final outfit she wore was a light blue one strapped sleeveless slim skirt dress with white polka dots, a blue sapphire amulet black collar necklace, black leggings, purple fingerless gloves, silver bracelets, and purple heels with silver straps. She did some poses, but Chase thought she was being silly.

Then, Rarity saw that Chase was now tired. She went to him and then hugged him in a soft, nice cuddle. “Let’s get ready for bed,” she said. Rarity then went to her changing wardrobe to change into her pajamas.

When Chase finished brushing his teeth, Chase came back to the bedroom and climbed onto the bed, then saw Rarity in her nightgown from the sleepover. She walked over to him and tucked him under the blanket.

Chase then laid down as Rarity walked to her mirror and blushed her cheeks with her makeup brush. “Rarity, are we still gonna sleep together?” Chase asked. “Yes, darling. Just give me a few seconds,” Rarity replied. Chase then leaned back on the bed, as Rarity made sure her bedroom was cleaned up before bed, leaving no dresses on the floor. After Rarity was done, she climbed onto the bed and pulled the covers over them both, keeping the boy warm, but before she turned off her light, she looked at at Chase sleeping with his teddy bear and found out he was sobbing and looking at his locket.

Rarity smiled warmly at him, because she realized he was thinking about his mother and father again. So she pressed on the pillow and straightened it out, then leaned back on her bed. She turned and poked Chase’s shoulder, he turned around, then Rarity patted on the spot next to her. “Would you like to lay next to me, dear?” she asked kindly. Chase then scooted over and laid down on the spot next to Rarity and laid his head near her chest. Chase placed his hand on her hip and held his teddy bear with his other arm, until Rarity stroked the veins on his hand with one hand and softly stroked his hair and embraced his head with her other hand. Chase had tears coming out of his eyes because he couldn’t stop thinking about his parents.

She smiled warmly. “Chase, I know you miss your mother and father. I’m sorry for their loss, but they are still with you darling,” she said. “They know how much you loved them. They never wouldn’t have to die if you still loved them, like we all do.” Chase then nodded and Rarity then realized that it was after 10:15, then she wrapped the blanket around Chase to keep him warm, and gave him a tender kiss on the cheek. “Sweet dreams, darling,” she said in a whisper. She finally turned off the light and went to sleep.
