//------------------------------// // Chapter 9: High School Trip // Story: A Tale of a Loving Sister // by GoebelTron //------------------------------// Chase started to wake up from the light of the sun beaming through the window. He got up got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast. Sunset was there and made him a bowl of Trix cereal. After he finished his cereal and brushed his teeth, he came back to Sunset and gave a hug before she left for school. “Chase, I know how you feel,” Sunset said after kneeling down towards his level. “But good news: I’m taking you with me this time. Principal Celestia wants to meet you.” Chase gasped in delight and went to pack some of his toys, his coloring books and crayons, and finally packed some snacks and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. After he was done, Sunset took him to her school. After Sunset and Chase arrived, Sunset lifted him up in her arms and then held on to him. Then, she carried him inside. The other students were looking at the child in Sunset’s arms and were making comments. Then all of a sudden, she put Chase down and knocked on the door that belonged to Principal Celestia’s office. “Come in,” she said. Sunset entered the office and then took a seat. Chase was hiding behind her chair shaking like a leaf. “I see you brought the little one to our school?” Principal Celestia asked, as Sunset nodded. Principal Celestia smiled kindly at Chase, then nodded to Vice-Principal Luna, who walked behind the chair Sunset was sitting on, knelt down towards Chase’s level, and placed her hand on his shoulder. “It’s alright,” she said softly. “No one’s going to hurt you. You can come out.” Chase slowly walked out and sat on Sunset’s lap. “Is this Chase? Look how big you are!” Principal Celestia said. Chase started fidgeting his hands, until Vice-Principal Luna stood next to Sunset’s chair and gently stroked Chase’s hair. “It’s alright, sweetheart. We just want to meet you,” she said. “How about a tour with Sunset today?,” Principal Celestia asked. “If you didn’t know, your babysitter, Cadence, she’s also the Dean at Crystal Prep Academy. You probably recognize her.” Chase nodded, then the bell rang. “It was nice seeing you, Principal Celestia. Come on, Chase.” Sunset said, as Chase took her hand and walked to class with her. Sunset walked over to her classroom with Chase holding her hand, then took her seat. Chase didn’t know where to sit, but the teacher walked in and Chase went to hide. She was another adult, but has pale magenta skin, dark magenta hair, and emerald green eyes. She wore a white tuxedo shirt, a brown vest with a yellow v-shape on the crest and ring on the bottom, a green skirt with lime green and yellow flowers, lime green socks, and brown boots with lime green shoelaces, socks, and green soles. It was their teacher, Miss Cheerilee. After she finished instructing the students about their lesson on algebra, the students began their worksheets. Chase saw Miss Cheerilee reading her book and then silently walked out of the closet and then tiptoed towards Rainbow Dash’s desk, then gently poked her thigh. She looked at Chase and gently stroked his hair. Then, she let him sit on her lap. Chase took out his mathematical coloring book and began to do some math and colored the shapes by color. Sunset turned around and smiled at Chased sitting on Rainbow Dash’s lap. A few minutes later, most of the students were finished with their worksheets and then did some quiet reading. Then Chase work on his spelling and writing with Fluttershy’s help. But all of a sudden, Miss Cheerilee walked over. “Who is this young man?” she asked. Chase gasped and then wrapped himself around Fluttershy’s waist, shaking and whimpering. Fluttershy smiled warmly and hugged him back. “Sorry, Miss Cheerilee,” she said. “This is Chase. Sunset’s looking after him and took him under her wing.” Miss Cheerilee was surprised. “Well, Chase. It’s a pleasure to welcome you to Canterlot High.” Chase looked at her and waved at her with a soft smile. Then, the bell rang and the students were dismissed. Chase walked with Sunset and the girls down in the hallway while they were on their way to the library, but then a girl appeared. She had sky blue skin, cloudy bluish white hair with a gold outlined purple star on it, and purple eyes. She wore a cerulean hoodie with light blue glitter on the sleeves and golden yellow rings on the bottom and sleeves, a purple skirt with cyan glitter on the bottom and a symbol that showed a wand doing magic, and purple and cerulean boots. “Greetings, Sunset Shimmer. It is I, the Great and Powerful Trixie!” she exclaimed. Sunset slapped her palm in her face and then rubbed her fingers on her monobrow bone to stroke the nerves. “Ugh... hello, Trixie,” Sunset said sarcastically. “Like the hundred times you said that to us every single time you appear,” Rainbow Dash said. Then, Trixie looked down at Chase hiding behind Rarity’s leg with her hand rubbing his head. “And why do you have a child accompanying you all in school?” Rarity and Applejack looked at Chase. “He ain’t got anythin’ to do with your business, Trixie,” Applejack said. “Leave him outta this.” “Oh, but why wouldn’t something this cute as a little boy like him be wandering around with you, when he could be hanging around with someone more majestic as the Great and Powerful Trixie?” Trixie asked, making Chase look uncomfortable as she kneeled down and touched his face, but Sunset batched right in and got angry at Trixie and tried to keep her temper in control. “For your information,...” Sunset said. “...he may not be related to any of us, but he’s got a lot of kindness in his heart. Even though his aunt mistreated him with slavery, child abuse, less food, and any lack of sleep, and may have lost his parents in a car crash when he was just a baby, he has been under my care and will always be under our protection. But like some people say, what can you expect from a little brother?” Sunset finished her speech and gave him a hug, then kissed his forehead. The other students heard Sunset’s speech and began to feel sorry for Chase, then gave an applause to Sunset. “The Great and Powerful Trixie gives you her deepest sympathies for your loss, dear child,” she said with tears in her eyes, then walked away. The girls were doing schoolwork and reading some books in the library. Chase was doing some reading comprehension questions and then did some drawing in his coloring book. Then a few minutes later, Sunset asked Rarity to go check up on Chase, but until she found him taking a nap, she sat next to him and then lowered him onto her lap. Few hours later... While sitting in the cafeteria for lunch, Chase was eating his sandwich and then slowly ate his snacks that consisted apple slices, frosted sugar cookies, and a grape juice box. Rarity wiped the remaining smudges of peanut butter and jelly from the sandwich off Chase’s face with her napkin. “Oh, by the way. I heard that Chase’s mean aunt got arrested this morning for child abuse,” Pinkie Pie said. “Well, glad that’s over with,” Applejack said, then put her hand on Chase’s shoulder. “But what’re we going to do about this little feller right here? He needs a home.” Sunset gulped and then started to confess. “I wanted to tell Chase this, but I thought about him more than just a friend. I was then starting to think about adopting him as my brother, because when I saw the sadness in his eyes, he thought of me as a sister.” The girls made a “d’awwww” reaction and then made some agreeable comments. Rarity looked at Chase, who was crying at her side. “What’s wrong, darling?” she asked as she held him for a hug. Chase looked at Sunset. “I’ve always wanted a big sister,” he said after he sniffed. Sunset then got up and so did Chase, but Sunset kneeled down and spread out her arms and Chase ran up to her, until they both made a warm embrace as brother and sister. “I love you, big sister,” Chase said. “I love you too, little brother,” Sunset said, then gave him a tender kiss on his head.
