//------------------------------// // Chapter 5: Meeting the Mane 6 - Part 2 // Story: A Tale of a Loving Sister // by GoebelTron //------------------------------// Sunset and Chase made their way to a local diner to eat some lunch downtown. After they went inside, they saw a lot of people eating their meals. A waitress appeared, lead them to their table and gave them their menu. Sunset looked at Chase and gave him a warm smile. “You okay, buddy?” Sunset asked. “Yeah, I’m fine,” Chase said. Sunset started to realize how he was feeling. “Thinking about your parents?” Sunset asked. Chase nodded and looked down with a sad face. “Hey, they aren’t gone forever,” Sunset said soothingly. “They’re still with you...” she points to his heart. “In there. You see, if you miss someone you love, they’ll stay with you in your heart forever. You understand?” Chase nodded with a warm smile and hugged Sunset. After Sunset ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with an Italian chicken salad and Chase ordered a kid’s cheeseburger with fries, they saw another girl the same age as Sunset walk over to their table and sat down with them. She had pink skin, dark pink puffy hair, and she wore a cyan vest with a white shirt that had a pink heart in the middle underneath, cyan wristbands on each hand, a purple bow belt around her waist, a big pink skirt with three balloons, and cyan boots with pink bows. “Hey, Sunset! Whatcha doing?” she asked. “Oh, hi, Pinkie Pie.” Sunset said. “I’m just having lunch with this guy...” she saw Chase leaning on her lap cowering nervously, and she gently patted his head. “Aww... it’s okay, sweetie. It’s just Pinkie Pie. Come on, sit up. She wants to say hello.” Chase sat up and looked at Pinkie Pie nervously. “Umm... h-hi, Miss Pinkie Pie,” Chase said nervously. Pinkie Pie gasped heavily and looked closer at him without scaring him. “Aww... aren’t you such a teeny weeny little cutie pie?” Pinkie Pie cooed as he gently ruffled his hair as Chase smiled and blushed nervously. “You don’t have to call me miss, just either Pinkie or Pinkie Pie. I like those options better. We cool?” Chase nodded. “Thanks, you little honey bun.” Sunset lifted up Chase and held him in her arms. “Alright, Pinkie. It was great seeing you,” Sunset said. “But right now, I’m gonna take him to meet Applejack, and probably Fluttershy later.“ “Oh, you silly billy!” Pinkie said. “I was on my way to meet Fluttershy, too! *gasps* That means we’re gonna see the cute little boy again!” Sunset giggled. “Well, there’s a shocker,” Sunset said. “Guess I’ll see you later. Come on, Chase.” Sunset walked out with Chase in her arms and they walked their way to Sweet Apple Acres. Pinkie Pie blushed and thought about Chase. ‘Wow, what a cute little cupcake Chase is. Hey! Maybe I should make him some confetti cupcakes, but have rainbow sprinkles in the batter! But what type of batter and icing should I use?’ At Sweet Apple Acres, a girl who was also the same age as Sunset was working on picking apples off the trees and putting them in baskets. She had light orange skin, white freckles on her cheeks, and blond hair. She wore a white flannel shirt with green shoulder pieces and a collar, a blue jean fabric skirt with pockets and a red belt, a tan leather hat, and brown boots. She then saw Sunset walk by and went up to the fence to greet her. “Howdy there, Sunset!” she said. “What’re ya doin’ all the way out here in the middle of winter?” “Hi, Applejack,” Sunset greeted towards the cowgirl. “I was on my way to see you and find out what you were doing today.” Applejack then saw the child in Sunset’s arms. “Well, what do we have here?” Applejack asked, as she put her hand on his shoulder. “And who might this cute little feller be?” “Applejack, I want you to meet my new friend, Chase Tucker,” Sunset said as she rubbed Chase’s back. “Chase, this is another friend of mine, Applejack. She’s an apple farmer.” Chase stuck his head out and gently waved at Applejack. “Hi,” Chase replied. “Awww, ya don’t have to be afraid,” Applejack said, as she tipped her hat adoring the cute little boy. “My name’s Applejack, and it’s a pleasure to meet ya, sugarcube.” Chase nodded and then was put down on the ground, then he went to Applejack and hugged her waist with his head pressed on her belly. Sunset and Applejack d’awwwwed at the reaction. “I think he likes you, Applejack,” Sunset said. “Well, ain’t you a cutie?” Applejack said as she put her hands on Chase’s hair and shoulder. “So, what bring you here, Sunset?” “I was actually wondering if you would like to visit Flutthershy’s later today with us,” Sunset said. “I was gonna introduce Chase to the others, but he already met Rarity and Pinkie Pie earlier today.” Applejack nodded and Sunset smiled warmly at Chase yawning for a nap. “Hey, Chase,” Applejack said as she knelt towards his level and put her hands on his shoulder. “Do ya wanna hang out with us for a li’l while? I’ll walk with you two over to Fluttershy’s place later.” Chase nodded in response. Applejack lifted Chase from under his armpits and carried him inside. After Chase was napping on Sunset’s lap, Applejack came back with a small piece of apple pie and an apple fritter for Chase to try when he wakes up from his nap. “How’s the little feller doin’?” Applejack quietly asked. Sunset stroked his hair and rubbed his shoulder. “He’s doing fine,” Sunset said. “He probably just got a little bored.” Chase started to make a squeaky grunting noise and rubbed his eyes. “Hey, sweetie,” Sunset said. “Did you have a good nap?” Chase nodded, “Mmhmm.” Sunset leaned forward and kissed the top of his head. “Here, sugarcube. I brought ya some apple pie and an apple fritter,” Applejack said sweetly. “I just thought you could use some of my family’s traditional recipes.” Chase thanked Applejack and tried both of them one at a time. When he was done, he laid on Applejack’s lap and she rubbed his belly to soothe the pain. “Awww, the little feller’s got a tummy ache,” Applejack said. Sunset checked her phone for the time and found out it was 4:15pm. “Do you think we should walk over to Fluttershy’s cottage right now?” Sunset asked. “I guess y’er right,” Applejack said. “Come on, Chase. We’re goin’ to Fluttershy’s home now.” Sunset lifted Chase up and put him down. He grabbed his jacket and took Sunset’s hand as they left the farm to Fluttershy’s house.
