Chapter 163 - Your Serious 'Skills'

Next to see you was Scootaloo and Ocellus. Your vision was slowly coming back at this point with the one eye that wasn’t covered by bandages. You thought they’d be more worried about you, but it seems they weren't too affected by your injuries. You were sure that they were aware you could heal this off with no issues. “Hey guys, hope I didn’t scare you with the whole oven thing.” You say with a chuckle.

“I was very worried. But Mr. and Mrs. Rich said you were going to use your magic later to heal yourself. Erm, you can actually do that, right? If I remember, chaos does have some limitations, namely when it gets close to becoming harmonic.” Ocellus said. Well, she looked half worried to be honest. And she was looking rather adorable as she sported a chef’s hat and a few spots of cake batter on her body.

“Yeah, of course he can. This is Anon, anything Discord can do is something he can pretty much do.” Scootaloo says with confidence, before looking at you with a sudden unsure look. “Right?”

“Er, I’m pretty sure. Ripping skin off sounds like something you wouldn’t do to a gigantic burn wound, so, yeah, I’m sure it’ll be fine, it's chaotic enough. So, what did you guys think of the fight?” You were curious for their opinions. Given how Lance reacted, you wanted to know how two people not enamored with pony Zorro would react.

“With Lance? Well, er, at first it was kind of embarrassing. No offense, but you were doing a lot of moves that the film me and Diamond watched said not to do. But then, that’s the crazy part. On the last part of the fight, the final point, you just suddenly changed. I can’t really put my hoof on it, but it was like when we both nearly got toast during the exam. You became super focused and knew exactly what to do to win and survive. You became completely different. Like, the film describes that you have to flow like water when it comes to sword fighting, but you were flowing like air. Erm, before bursting into flames anyway.” Scootaloo, on that note, then began to ponder. “Kinda makes me think that you only pull off your super skills on the trade off that you end up in some kind of fiery scenario. I mean, that’s how chaos works, right?”

Your eye twitched at that. At first that angered you, but then your mind flickered to confusion, and then suddenly even you pondered on it. Did you become super amazing due to some kind of luck that gets you burnt to a crisp right after? Storm Ravager doesn’t count due to Discord’s ‘boost’ thing. But then when he was the Storm King, and you and Tempest were free falling, you could have possibly burned up in the atmosphere. No, bah, why are you even thinking about this? It’s stupid. “No, it’s just coincidence, and not even a comparable one. It’s more like just a fluke.”

“I have to agree with Anon, he has the strangest luck I’ve ever seen. But then, I guess that’s what is really chaotic about him. Wild things just seem to happen out of his control, for better and for worse.” Ocellus said with a sigh, looking at you with a gentle smile. “I’m just glad the ‘worse’ part never seems to last. But doesn’t it hurt? The burns I mean.”

“Nah, the docs got me on some kind of pain meds. I’ll be fine, really. Also, I should probably practice this way of fighting. If it worked that well on a guy like Lance, then I bet a perfected version could take out anyone, especially mixed with my chaos magic. Heck, I could use my wings and my special grappling hook too and turn it into the perfect fighting style. Yeah, that actually sounds pretty cool.” You said, with a nod to yourself. With the ability to fly, and the use of your Starlight Hook, you could thrash nearly any threat before you even thought of using a charge.

“Perfect? Nah, that’d be the way Rainbow Dash fights. She still has more wins on big bad guys than you do, Anon. But I bet if you trained under her a little more and learned her style, you’d become unstoppable to everything but the elements of harmony.” Scootaloo says, still defending her hero as if you were somehow weaker than her. And even then, ‘elements of harmony’, as in she probably felt that Rainbow and the other five could demolish you with their silly rainbow beam. Bah, you’d dodge it.

In fact, why not just fight Dash with just the basics of your horn and the tools you have? No fuck it, you don’t even need the tools. Just slap on the wings and take her on one on one. You have never seen Rainbow fight particularly well on the show, not in some amazing way anyway, you could take her. “Bah, I think I could take her, without my horn too. I’d just use my wings to keep things even.”

“Well, that didn’t last long.” Ocellus said suddenly. Although you both didn’t know what she was remarking about, it didn’t stop those words from being on the nose about your arrogance coming back after not underestimating your opponent. Ocellus knew you were taking things seriously for that last round, but also knew your seriousness wouldn't last.

“What didn’t last long?” You ask.

“N-nothing!” Ocellus said with a nervous gulp. “Anyway. Instead of wanting to fight or anything like that, how about we, ummmm, talk about erm, Pizza! Actually, when we’re done talking with you, Anon, I was preparing you a meal you’d really like, similar to what you’re used to. Erm, or was used to being used to from your own world, which we have in this world. Kind of weird actually, but I guess some foods are really universal. Anway, I'm making pizza, soda, cinnamon rolls, and hayfries! They’ll be in small portions though, just enough to make you full. I wouldn’t want you to get sick from it since it’s sort of unhealthy.”

Dammit! Fuck, you wanted to tell her you don’t care about that. But then again, considering she was making it for you because you were hurt...

Bah, you couldn’t complain, especially since it sounded so tasty. “Eh, that’s fine. Thanks, Ocellus. You didn’t have to do that for me.”

“Oh, but I did. Considering there was no way you’d be able to make dinner on your own, somecreature had to provide you something. And given your injuries, I just felt it’d have to be something you really enjoy to help you feel better.” Ocellus said, with such genuine enthusiasm that it made you wonder if she was even capable of lying about anything.

You sigh, and lay your head down. “Thanks, Ocellus. That means a lot to me. Oh, how is Diamond right now? Is she ok?”

“Not really, she’s been the most anxious to see you. But she also wanted to see you last so she wouldn’t hold anypony else up. Actually, since we know you’re ok, do you just want to see her? We can catch up tomorrow! In fact, Ocellus is pretty cool and was telling me more about the group you hang with at school. If you want, we could all meet at the clubhouse to hang out. Well, maybe not in the clubhouse, I don’t think we can all fit. But around it maybe? That way the girls and I could show what it means to be a Cutie Mark Crusader! Who knows, it might even help you all with Friendship School!” Scootaloo said, rather excited about the concept.

You, however, were not. But given your situation, and that everyone was in good spirits. Meh, as long as Sweetie Belle doesn’t act the shit, then maybe, just maybe, it’ll be fine. If anything, the admiration from Silverstream and Cozy Glow will have them on her ass should she say anything negative about you. “Y-yeah, that sounds like a good idea.”

“Oh, that actually sounds like a great idea. I’m sure the others would be up for it. I’m actually surprised Anon has never offered us a chance to visit his other friends at all. Anon, why haven’t you?” Ocellus asked, curious.

“Er, it never came to mind?” Like seriously, you have so many friends at this point that it didn’t seem feasible to just have them meet each other.

“I don’t mean this in a mean way, but that makes sense coming from you.” Scootaloo said. “But hey, better late than never, am I right? Oh, wait, Anon, before we go. I have to ask, when you get really good at being super serious, are you going to become like, unstoppable? I-I mean to other bad guys, of course. I dunno what it is, but seeing a jerk like Tirek be slapped around by a foal would be pretty funny.” Scootaloo said, looking into your eyes with hope and humor. It was kind of odd for her to ask such a question. Why even ask it?

“I dunno. With my magic, sure. But without it? I’d have to be able to know every move he’s about to pull and hope he isn’t too jacked on magic to shrug off everything I throw at him. Then again, I don’t know how he’d handle a magical shock from my grappling hook. So, maybe? Meh, probably, the guy didn’t seem that smart. He only got so far because of Dad.” And like Discord, he pretty much stood still as he got rainbow’d. So maybe you stood a chance.

“Maybe, huh? That’s still cool that you have a chance. I mean, Rainbow Dash could do it with rainbow power, but by herself? Mnnngh, yeah, I know she actually couldn’t beat him on her own. Then again, maybe he’s just that tough that you need teamwork to beat him. So if you couldn’t, you and Rainbow Dash could do it together. Orrrr!” Suddenly, a thought hits Scootaloo that makes her excited. “You and me could do it if I manage to learn more about sword fighting from Lance! And since Diamond is too, we could be, like, the three super awesome friends! Or the three alternate crusaders! Cutie Mark Crusaders by day, alternate crusaders by… Also day. I guess I’d have to work on it, but it sounds pretty cool, right?” Scootaloo said, hoping you’d agree. “And Scrappy could be our mascot, and still help beat the bad guys too! It’d be perfect!”

That sounds fucking terrible. “I mean, anything can happen.” Fuck you, Anon, why did you even entertain the thought if you thought it was terrible?!

“Yeah! Anything can, you’re absolutely right! Ok, alright then! Hey Ocellus, let me help you make that food for Anon, that way we can finish early and ask Mr. Scimitar for more lessons.” Scootaloo said to her.

“What? We? I thought you just wanted Diamond and Anon.” Ocellus was surprised, especially when the earlier vibes she had felt from Scootaloo seemed a little negative towards her.

“Yeah, but why a trio when you can have a whole team? You’re pretty cool, and you’re like a version of Scrappy who, erm, doesn’t act like a dog? It’s complicated to explain. But yeah, c’mon, it’ll be fun!” Scootaloo said.

“No, I really rather not. I-it’s nothing against you, I just don’t really like the idea of fighting, especially with weapons.” Yep, Ocellus was truly a soft bug.

“Oh, alright…” Scootaloo said with a disappointed sigh. But she didn’t stay down for long. “I’ll still help with the food though. But I can at least eat whatever’s extra, right?” Scootaloo asked.

“Of course, I don’t mind making extra if the Riches don’t mind me using a little more of their ingredients.  We’ll have to ask them about that, of course.” Ocellus said.

“Fine with me, pizza always tastes great. Hey, Anon, you take care of yourself, ok? And make sure you do that whole magic heal thing the first chance you get.” Scootaloo said to you, giving you a near stern motherly look.

“Heh, no problem, you both take care too, ok?” You say to them, giving them a weak wave,

“We will!” they both say to you as they go off to tell Diamond to see you, and then go make your delicious food.
