“Okay, so we all know the plan right,” Twilight asked.
“Yes, yes we know you all go to the crystal empire while I defeat Grogar.” Discord responded triumphantly.
Then Rarity and Applejack walked into the throne room
“All the citizens have been evacuated successfully. Princess Luna and Celestia, as well as the pillars, have gone with them too.” Rarity said flicking her mane.
“Why exactly do we have to go to the crystal empire,” Rainbow dash asked.
“Because they have the crystal heart that may just be strong enough to banish Grogar, It's the strongest artifact in all Equestria now that the elements of harmony are gone.” Twilight pointed out with a slight hint of sadness thinking back about the destruction of the elements and the tree. “If discord fails that would be our best chance.”
“Then if the plan is set we will go, You'll be fine right discord,” Fluttershy asked the Draconequus.
“Oh, I'll be better than fine we won't even need the crystal heart I am far more powerful than some useless artifact.”
“You do know some of those useless artifacts turned you to stone right,” Rainbow said bluntly.
“Pffff they just caught me by surprise, besides that was six artifacts.”
“Caught by surprise by a giant rainbow laser.” rainbow asked mockingly. “If you were caught by surprise by that are you really the best choice.”
Then discord's entire body starts to shake.
“Oh no, that's not a good sign,” Discord said looking worried. “Grogar just used some very powerful magic.”
“Grogar is coming closer I can sense his magic now. He's more powerful than last time.” Discord said, “It's time for you to go.”
“Will you really be okay,” Fluttershy asked discord.
“I'll be fine dear you just make sure you stay out of harm's way.” then discord spoke to the others. “And I guess that goes for all of you too. But make extra sure Fluttershy stays out of danger or I'll turn all of you into cotton candy.” Discord said, the others just hoped he was joking.
“Okay let's go,” Twilight's horn flared with magic but nothing happened.
“Uh, twilight darling we're still in Canterlot.” rarity said confused.
“How... we should be in the crystal empire.”
“Unless Grogar is stopping your teleportation.” Pinkie suggested.
“That's not possible, is it?” Fluttershy commented, becoming scared.
“Well, such a powerful spell probably has a certain range.” Twilight concluded, “As soon as we're out we can teleport.”
“Then there's no more time to lose, let's go!” Applejack said.
Discord went through the front doors and Twilight and her friends went to the back.
Just outside Canterlot castle, Grogar was patiently waiting for the ponies to come out but was only greeted by a Draconequus.
“Well, is this the plan you came up with? Grogar did you really need to run just to come back and fight me.”
“Well, if I'm honest Discord. I needed more power to defeat you and I wanted to have a bit of fun too. Out of anyone here I think you'd understand that.”
“But my chaos has never hurt anyone... too much. You're destruction, however, has hurt many but I won't let it hurt my friends.” With that Discord ignited his claw and paw and charged at Grogar, grabbing his horns claw, and paw still on fire.
“Then where are those friends of yours now Discord Sending you out here all alone to fight for them while you get nothing in return.” Grogar used his horns to hit discord in the gut.
“I already betrayed them once, never again.” Discord's eyes turned redder, and he unleashed lightning from his hands. The lightning hit Grogar straight on. “You may be strong Grogar but my power is infinite.”
“Good thing I brought some of my friends then.” A house close by exploded and a dragon-like monster, with bat-like wings with lava coming out of its mouth, and a giant spike on the end of its tale. The creature's wings and back were an endless black with a single red line going over its back the line went from the top of its head to the end of its tale, where it stopped at the red spike. His belly was as yellow as Grogars eyes. It climbed over the broken wall and stalked closer to discord. The ground also cracked open and a deafening screech came from the crack, a similar-looking monster came out of it. Except this one had dark forest green wings and back with a black line going to his tale. His belly was also dark blue like Grogars coat, both monsters charged at discord.
Outside Canterlot, the mane six were galloping down the road spiraling up the mountain to the city.
“Why did we have to build the city on a mountain.” Rarity panted.
“Just keep going we have to almost be out of reach,” Applejack said.
“W-what is that,” Fluttershy gasped.
Three birdlike monsters came flying towards them, but they were almost as big as a stallion. With claws that looked like they could cut through metal.
The giant reptile flew straight at the mane six, twilight was able to cast a shield overt hem just in time for the bird to crash into it. The bird assaulted the shield with its sharp talons while holding on to it with his wings.
“Quickly think of something before it destroys the shield,” Twilight said. The bird was now also pecking at the shield with its beak and there were starting to appear several cracks in it.
“Fluttershy can you do something,” Applejack asked.
“Me? B-but I don’t know anything about this creature. I don’t know how to p-pacify it.”
“It doesn’t look like it wants to be friends with us.” Argues pinkie.
“I-I could try the stare, but I don’t know if that will work.”
At that point, the barrier breaks, and as the bird flies in with its talons the fear brinks back memories for Fluttershy. Memories from When she used to cower before everything in her life when she feared even her own shadow. How sometimes she thought that with all that fear she was not as helpful as the others when trying to save the world. Maybe even a bother to them, but that was different now.
Without any hesitation, Fluttershy jumped between her friends and the reptile and stared it down.
“Stop right there you naughty bird.”
The bird instantly stopped in its tracks and landed on the ground. Fluttershy just kept staring at it, she swore that the bird almost looked like it was sweating even though it did not have any sweat glands.
“What do you think you’re doing just attacking us like that, we didn’t do anything to you.”
The bird started baking off and making itself smaller and smaller.
“You are by far the meanest bird I’ve ever met. You just attack ponies for no reason and think you can get away with it what would your father think.” After that, the bird started crying.
“Your father forced you to do this?” Every pony looked surprised. The bird simply nodded.
“Why would he do that,” the bird let out a cry.
“Your father is Grogar?”
“That does make sense,” Twilight said. “There are legends that say. Grogar can create monsters with his magic.”
“All the more reason to get to the crystal empire as soon as possible” stated applejack.”
“Right let’s go.” However, when they all started to walk off the bird squawked.
“He asks if he can come with us. He doesn’t want to go back to Grogar, he sounds scared.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Rainbow stated. “He could be trying to see where we’re going and then report it to Grogar.”
“I don’t think he’s bad”
“Fluttershy, he just tried to attack us.”
“He didn’t want as Grogar forced him.”
“More friends are always better,” Pinkie said happily
“Fluttershy knows animals better than any of us.” Argued applejack “And she knows kindness if she says he can be trusted I believe her.”
“Having a monster who was summoned by Grogar help us could give us more information about him” argued Twilight.
“Ugh... fine, but just know I have my eye on you,” Rainbow said to the bird. It nodded in response and walked to them using its wings like feet.
The mane 6 started quickly galloping down the mountain, with their new bird companion flying with them.
Discord crashed through a building one of the creatures knocked him into.
“Heh looks like you have some friends as well Grogar, they aren’t very nice though.”
Discord snapped his fingers and created a bunch of cotton candy shaped animals around him.
“My friends on the other claw only want to give a hug.” The cotton candy animals stormed Grogar and the two monsters. The cotton candy animals reached the two monsters. Running into them and rendering the creatures immobile by sticking them to the ground. Grogar however was easily able to destroy the creatures with a single spell. One that first looked like a shield but expanded until it reached the cotton candy animals disintegrating them.
“You have not changed a bit Discord; you still use those weak tricks of yours.” Grogar taunted discord. “Let me show you how to use your power.”
Under both monsters appeared a red circle with ancient symbols spinning underneath the monsters. The circles lit up and in an instant, the monsters were engulfed in flames. The flames melted the cotton candy and as the monsters stepped out of the circle it became clear that the flames were coming from the monsters, and they were now on fire.
“Lava beasts, incinerate him.” With that order the beasts charged into action, the new form of the lava beasts however this did not seem to disturb discord. Who just yawned waited for the monsters to jump at him and split his own body in two. He had made a giant pool of water appear behind him which the beasts fell into. With a loud splash and a hissing sound of the water vaporizing. Discord put his body back together and looked at the two now wet lava beasts.
“You’re right that was a lot more effective.” Discord said in a sarcastic tone.
Annoyance was now clearly visible on Grogar's face.
“This is exactly why I've always found you a child Discord, you never take anything seriously. Even with all, you're power you don't ever use all of it.”
“It's not like I need to use all my strength would take all the fun out of a fight.”
“Don't underestimate me.” Grogar used his power creating multiple magical circles.
One of the circles shot icicles out of it, other spear-like projectiles, and the last one shot out electricity. Discord stops the icicles by summoning a giant pudding getting them stuck in it. The spear projectiles flew into a door that seems to go nowhere, the electricity was simply snatched out of the air by Discord's eagle claw and eaten.
“See what I mean.” Discord said smugly, “I barely had to try and I never got-” a circle appeared behind Discord, opening and sending the spear-like objects into his back. The spears exploded on content sending Discord flying towards Grogar. He conjured up another circle out of which a giant stone spike appeared. Discord was able to dodge by changing direction in the air but just ran into another magical circle that spewed out fire.
"This is why you won't win discord, you don't know how to fight seriously because you never had to."
Discord was able to stop the fire by summoning fire of his own. He then channeled lightning in his claw and shot it at Grogar. Next to Grogar, a house wall was blown out by a stone Gollum running through it. The stone Gollum ran in front of Grogar and stoped the lightning. At the same time, green vines with spikes suddenly shot out of the ground beneath Discord, shooting out and gripping his arms and hands, making him unable to snap his fingers. Behind Discord rose a Vine-like monster it didn't appear like any animal, just a bunch of vines bunched together walking on four legs, and having something resembling a mouth where its face was probably supposed to be.
"What's wrong didn't expect me to have more monsters," Grogar said with a mocking grin. "You need to snap you're claw or paw to change reality correctly."
Discord then without snapping his fingers detached his arms and freed himself from the fines. "incorrect, I just do that for show." He then regenerated his arms, paw, and claw, the ones that were still stuck in the fines turning into bubbles and disappearing.
Discord had a grin on his face walking towards Grogar. freezing the Gollum and fine monster in pace without snapping his fingers. "See Grogar still no challenge. I told you there's no point for me to get serious, I mean why do you think the writers always have to come up with a reason that I can't help. I'm simply too strong, I mean it's no surprise I am the best."
"Such confidence, although you really should not lower your guard in a fight. always watch you're back."
Discord quickly turned around, Grogar had produced ten magic circles all of them firing large spike stones at Discord. Discord didn't even flinch turning them all in balloons before they could even get close, but at that moment discord heard the clang of a bell behind him. Before he could turn back around he felt his magic start to drain.
"I did tell you to watch you're back." Discord fell to the ground completely drained of magic. "That's all it takes for me to beat you. one moment of distraction and I win."
Grogar pulled Discord up with his magic so they were face to face. "And now you're nothing more than a bunch of animals clutched together, although it doesn't look like you'll be for much longer."
Grogar looked at Discord's claw that was now slowly becoming more transparent. "Interesting you're a spirit of chaos, or in a sense a physical representation of chaos magic. Without you're chaos magic you can't exist."
"D-don't be so sure." Discord said with a weak voice. "I h-have more than just one magic."
"Oh please, you're 'magic of friendship' is nothing more than increasing your power through emotion. In the case of friendship, it's love for you're friends. I can get the same result by feeling other emotions as long as they're just as powerful, like hatred."
"H-heh you think your hate is stronger than the bond they have. I t-tried overcoming it with my magic and failed spectacular, w-what makes you think you can do any better." Discord was still panting and becoming more and more seethrough.
Grogar released Discord from his magical grasp dropping him on the ground. "Because unlike you hate is all I feel, when I hear the rain from the clouds created by the pegasi. When I see the fields being plowed by earth ponies. When I hear unicorns laughing while they use their magic to toss a ball around. All I can think about is the fact that there using my magic to do so. The magic that they stole from me, I will get that magic back, and when I do I'll take my revenge and destroy everything I hate."
"Y-You'll never succeed." Discord said rising from the ground. "F-Fluttershy and her friends won't quit. they'll never give up no mether what, because they have each other. Your plans will fail, and the last thing you'll see before that despair sets in is a rainbow laser." Now completely standing on the ground Discord with a pained expression summoned the last of his strength to make two digits on his lion paw visible again. "And as long as they have each other, that will always happen." With that Discord used every last bit of his strength to snap his fingers and he completely disappeared.
"I think we're far enough away now gather up we're teleporting," Twilight announced, everyone including the bird steps closer to twilight all teleporting away.
re-appearing in the crystal empire in front of a worried looking crowd.
"Twilight," Cadance said relieved. "We were worried, we thought you may have been captur-....... Uhm why do you have a monster with you"
"We almost were," Applejack responded. "Grogar put up some kind of anti-teleportation magic, then we were attacked by that monster there."
"Don't worry." Fluttershy said, "Raphiël is very sorry about that, he's on our side now."
"You gave it a name?" Rainbow dash asked.
"Discord held Grogar back.... but we haven't heard back from him," Twilight said, at that exact moment a letter appeared in front of Twilight. The letter fell into Twilights hooves surprised she began to read it. "Dear, Fluttershy, and others I sadly won't be able to help you out anymore, be careful Grogar has my magic now. But I'm sure you'll win anyway don't worry about me I'll be fine I promise. Beat Grogar for me, ps. keep Fluttershy safe."
"S-so not even Discord could beat him." rarity said looking worried. "Then how are we suppose to."
"I don't know yet but I'm sure we'll be able to think of some sort of plan." Everyone agreed and decided to strategize on how to handle Grogar."
Tirek, Cozy, and Chrissalys walked into the throne room of Canterlot castle. Beside the door stood the two monsters that Discord had thrown into a swimming pool. And next to the throne stood the fine monster and the stone Gollum.
"Lord Grogar." Cozy glow said giving Grogar a fake smile. "you succeeded in taking Canterlot, congratulations." she said very happily.
"Do not try to trick me with your false flattery Cozy Glow," Grogar said angrily. "Now is not the time to celebrate, there are still threats out there we need to take care of."
"Twilight and her friends." Tirek said, "They are important to take care of."
"Not just them, question Tirek do you know where the magic in this world comes from."
"Well each creature has its own unique magic, most can call upon it and control it."
"Correct your species can even absorb magic to a certain extent, of course, you can only extract the magic on the surface, not all of it. My bel however can absorb all magic in a creature leaving them completely helpless."
"What does any of this have to do with defeating your threats? " Chrysallis asked.
"Because it's clear to me that as long as magic exists in this world there will always be a threat to my rule because there is always some way they can defeat me. If it's not with a spell then it's with this magic of friendship. If I truly want to win I need to get rid of all magic, not just here but everywhere the changelings, buffalo, dragons, hippogryphs, griffons, and everything else. I will destroy magic ones and for all and then rule over this world as supreme emperor."
"But if you take all magic, then this world will collapse."
"That is exactly what I want and you will help me, Tirek you and Chrysalis will go out there and steal the love and surface magic of Equestria's population Cozy Glow you know a lot about different artifacts and where there located take some monsters to gather them."
"And, why would we do that." Chrysalis scoffed, "What's in it for us."
"I will give you all each your land back, some subjects to rule, and enough magic to keep order."
"Okay, and what will you be doing," Cozy asked.
"I will gather magic enhance my power and then do what Sombra could not. Take the Cristal empire. Now go out there and do as I say and you will be graciously rewarded, and take some of my monsters as well."
Grogar grabs the bell in his magical grasp and floated it towards himself.
"Now there is just one more thing."
"You're not seriously going to absorb that fool's ridiculous chaos magic, are you? That's impossible for any other creature to control." Tirek said.
"I am the father of monsters and the greatest sorcerer that has ever existed. There is no magic I can not control." With that Grogar absorbed Discord's chaos magic. Growing larger in size until he seemed to dwarf the other three villains, and the rest of the monsters in the room. His court became even darker blue, to the point it nearly seemed red. His coat now had red and black lines going through it. His hooves became dark purple with his eyes glowing an even more fiery red.
two weeks later.
"Twilight, we have even more citizens arriving from Equestria," Luna said. "I don't know how many more the cristal empire can take in."
"I know what you mean." Pinkie said frowning. "There are so many ponies I don't know if I can get enough supply's to throw a big enough party."
"It's not going to slow down either." Cadence stated. "According to recent refugees, Grogar's monsters are moving all over Equestria. Tirek, Cozy Glow, and Queen Chrysalis seem to be going from town to town. Multiple cities have been overrun as well including, Canterlot, Manehatten, Poniville, Cloudsdale, Las Pegasus, Fillydelphia, Baltimare, and Appeloosa."
"This is bad, we can't just turn them away but we're running low on food and other supplies. And it's impossible to get supplies from Equestria with all those monsters running around." Twilight said frustrated.
"We've tried sending some of our leftover royal guards and crystal guards." Shining armor said. "But it's been hard the monsters seem to grow stronger the further we had inside Equestria."
"Fluttershy has your friend returned yet."
"Yes, Raphiël has been flying over Equestria and just came back. A lot of places have been taken over by Grogar, he's imprisoning all the ponies he captures takes their magic, and then forces them to work. It also appears like the land is slowly weltering."
Twilight sighed heavily, "Grogar is making it an eternal night with his magic, and without Cloudsdales whether factory we can't control the weather anymore and it's gone out of control, everything is a mess."
"Don't lose hope sugar cube." Applejack said comfortingly."We ain't defeated yet, you'll figure somethin' out"
"Ugh I'm so tired of that Grogar guy," Cozy Glow said annoyed. The three villains were walking through the apple orchard of the apple family. There was rumored to be a small resistance of ponies somewhere nearby.
"I agree we've done nothing but hunt down ponies for their magic for the past two weeks." Chrysalis agreed.
"Well, Grogar appears to like playing the long term."Tirek said, "He told me that the plan is to create a lot of panic and to get as strong as possible before attacking the ponies."
"I just don't know if Grogar's plan is going to go well." Cozy Glow said worriedly.
"It's a solid plan to gather you're strength for a fight."
"No, I mean is it a good idea to rid the world of all its magic."
"Didn't you try to take all of Equestria's magic?" Chrysalis countered.
"That's different it was just Equestrian magic, but Grogar is trying to take all magic."
"I know what you mean," Tirek said. "Taking Discord's magic and so many other creatures. You can almost feel the world shifting, look around." Tirek pointed at the field around them, it was a cherry orchard. But there were no cherry's growing on the trees. The trees were withering and slowly dying. "This all happened in just two weeks. It's like magic itself is disappearing and it's killing everything."
"If it continues like this, then there won't be any fertile land left." Ghrissalys sighed. "If that happens ponies will lose all hope. Without hope, there will be no love only despair. And that tastes horrible."
"No one would want to be friends in a world like that." Cozy sighed, more upset about the fact that it will be difficult to manipulate enough creatures to become powerful enough, rather then that she wouldn't be able to make friends.
"And no magic to grow stronger," Tirek grumbled.
"And then there's the fact that he's also going to attack our homelands," Chrysalis said, She seemed almost sad as she said this. Even though her hive betrayed her she still had a small soft spot for them.
"We can't allow Grogar to grow any stronger, I'm sure he'll try to get rid of us as soon as he gets the chance." Tirek was almost sure that that was his plan, after all, if Grogar wanted to gain all magic. There was no doubt he'd try to take their magic as well. "But, it's not like we can really do anything about it. He's way too powerful and always seems to be one step ahead."
"Then we need to do something that Grogar would never think of." Cozy stated.
"He knows our personalities too well, he probably knows what we'd do before we do it," Chrysalis said.
"Then we just do something completely opposite of what we would normally do, work together."
"I don't know us working together didn't work last time," Tirek said, remembering how they'd failed to steal Grogar's magic with his bell.
"That's why we need to work together with someone he wouldn't suspect."
"No," Qhrisalys stated, "I refuse to work together with those ponies."
"But, it may be our only chance to defeat him."
"What makes you think they'd even want to work together with us," Tirek said bringing up a good point.
"We can at least try it's better than working for Grogar." The villains contemplated what to do as they walked through the dying orchard that was the apple farm.
Canterlot castle had been reformed. It looked a lot bigger but incomplete and like it could fall over at any moment. Spikes jutted out from the sides and a giant flag with Grogar's face hung off the side, overall the atmosphere was dreadful.
"Report." Gregor snorted, he was sitting on a throne in the throne room of the newly decorated Canterlot castle. He'd called for some pony in chains to report the recent events in his new kingdom.
"Y-yes e-emperor Grogar, the rebellions in las pegasus and Manehatten have been stopped. and the buffaloes have also surrendered." The pony was shaking from fear while giving the report.
"Hmmm, excellent you are dismissed work with the other ponies to built my statue." With that order, the pony bowed her head and walked out of the throne room
Grogar walked to one of the many class stained windows in the throne room as a monster walked into the room. It was a towering tree-like monster his enter body was made of roots and moss was growing on him with branches popping out randomly over its body. "You're majesty." It said in a voice so deep you could feel it in you're boned.
"Ah Ent, are my forces ready."
"Yes, Everyone is ready for your orders."
"Perfect, today my empire will truly be reborn."
Twilight and the others had been talking all day in the conference room trying to come up with a plan.
"No, that won't work either," Twilight said, another plan that wouldn't work. "We just don't have enough forces our best strategy would be to wait for Grogar to come to us."
"But," Rainbow dash countered. "That would mean giving Grogar the time to strengthen his forces. Who knows how many strong monsters he'd be able to make."
At that moment a guard walked into the room. "You're majesty's, "The guard said to the four princesses in the room. "Friendly forces have arrived."
"What," Twilight said surprised. "Grogars already here that's sooner than... wait, did you say friendly?"
"Yes, your majesty the Griffons, Dragons, Jacks, Hippogryphs, and Changelings have appeared. Also, a pony named tempest shadow with a few storm creaturs claims to know you."
"Well, let them in the city immediately, I want to talk to all of them."
"Yes, Your majesty, at once."
Twilight and the others went to meet the leaders of each race that brought their respective forces. "It's so nice to see all of you again," Twilight said happily.
"It is nice to see you too." Queen Novo said. "It's been too long."
"Yak's happy to see little pony too." prince Rutherford said.
"Yeah, we should get together like this more often," Thorax said.
"Next time we do so maybe the world won't be in danger," Ember said smirking
"We're only here because Gallus and Gilda insisted we'd have to help." Said grandpa gruff, "Apparently this Grogar guy is a threat to us as well."
"I hope it's not a problem that I brought some storm creatures," Tempest said slightly worried.
"Of course not," Twilight reassured. "Any help is useful right now. But, how are you all here."
"I asked them to." Starlight said happily. "We got a letter to send the students to ask their various leaders to help us."
"What letter?"
"The one Discord send us. At least I'm pretty sure it was him considering how chaotic it was."
"But, why are all of you only showing up now?"
"The letter told us to show up at the same time because it said: 'It would be very epic.'"
"Yeah, that's definitely Discord. Well, let's catch up in the congress room. With this many forces, we may be able to beat Grogar back."
Thus twilight and the other rulers caught up over a few drinks. Meanwhile, Grogar was moving his monsters to the Cristal Empire to defeat Twilight and her friend's ones and for all.
