Turquoise and Twilight were busy training for Twilight’s rematch. Venusaur blew both Rowlet and Charmander away with his Petal Blizzard which caused them both to glow as they were fighting the violent winds of the Petal Blizzard off.
“ Looks like Charmander and Rowlet are evolving. Charmander grew bigger as well as leaner while Rowlet also grew bigger with a few changes. As soon as the light faded a red anthropomorphic lizard with sharp-looking eyes along with a bigger owl-like creature that looked like a gentleman.
“ Char,” The red lizard said.
“ Dartrix,” The owl said. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex to see what Twilight’s pokemon just evolved into.
“ Charmeleon. The Flame Pokemon and the evolved form of Charmander. It has a barbaric nature. In battle, it whips its fiery tail around and slashes away with sharp claws,” The Pokedex said before Turquoise shifted her focus to the other one. “ Dartrix. The Blade Quill Pokemon and the evolved form of Rowlet. It throws one knifelike feather after another at its enemies, and each one precisely strikes a weak point. These feathers are known as blade quills.
“ This is perfect now I just need my new pokemon to get stronger and I should be ready,” Twilight said.
“ You caught another one?” Turquoise said in shock.
“ That’s right you haven’t met my ground type yet,” Twilight said before pulling out a Pokeball. “ Diglett come on out. Twilight threw her Pokeball and as soon as it hit the ground it popped open and unleashed a small mole-like creature.
“ Diglettee,” Diglett said while Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex.
“ Diglett. The Mole Pokemon. It burrows through the ground at a shallow depth. It leaves raised earth in its wake, making it easy to spot,” The Pokedex said.
“ Charmeleon, Dartrix take a break it’s Diglett’s turn for some training,” Twilight said before Applejack came back with some Pokemon Food for them.
“ Venusaur you do the same I have the perfect training partner in mind,” Turquoise said before calling out her Trapinch.
“ Trapinch seems perfect for this. Diglett you ready to go?” Twilight asked.
“ Diglettee,” Diglett said.
“ Then let’s start with Mud-Slap. Diglett spun around and sent a bunch of mud flying at Trapinch.
“ Trapinch use Dig. Trapinch burrowed underground and started heading towards Diglett.
“ Diglett use Bulldoze. Diglett began to vibrate along with the ground which managed to deal a ton of damage to Trapinch who was sent popping out of the ground and fainted. After Diglett won he started to glow which indicated he was evolving. Diglett began to grow bigger and wider before it started to look like he split into three creatures. As soon as the glow faded in Diglett’s place was a mole creature with three heads.
“ Trio,” The creature said.
“ What kind of Pokemon is that?” Turquoise said before pulling out her Pokedex.
“ Dugtrio. The Mole Pokemon and the evolved form of Diglett. These Diglett triplets dig over 60 miles below sea level. No one knows what it's like underground,” The Pokedex said.
“ Let’s keep going,” Twilight said.
“ That is enough training for right now. my Trapinch and Venusaur are tired and need to rest I suggest your pokemon do the same before you decide to challenge LT. Surge again,” Turquoise said. After recalling their Pokemon everyone went back to the Pokemon Center to have their Pokemon recover. Sometime later Nurse Joy came back with their Pokemon.
“ All of your Pokemon are back to full health,” Nurse Joy said as she returned their Pokeballs. “ And I have some exciting news about your egg Turquoise its on the verge of hatching any minute now.
“ That’s great news,” Turquoise said. After setting her egg on a pillow Turquoise and the others watched as it began flashing and then turn into a black little fox-like creature with red in certain places with her eyes tightly closed. After the hatching ended the fox opened her eyes revealing her lovely blue eyes. The Fox like creature looked confused as Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex.
“ Zorua. The Tricky Fox Pokemon. This Pokémon has a cowardly disposition, so when it’s not around friends, it basically always stays transformed as something else.
“ So you’re a Zorua? That’s very cool and you’re so cute,” Turquoise said. Turquoise decided to use the Pokeball that was on top of the case to call her new Zorua into it only for Zorua to leap into the air and transform into Rarity.
“ How and why did Zorua turn into me?” Rarity asked in shock.
“ I think I might have an explanation,” A familiar shy voice said.
“ Fluttershy when did you get here?” Twilight asked.
“ Scorbunny and I wanted to see how Turquoise was doing so we decided to come here,” Fluttershy said.
“It’s great to see you, darling, now can you please explain why Turquosie’s new Zorua has turned into me?” Rarity said.
“ Zorua has a unique ability called Illusion which allows it to transform into people and Pokemon and newborn Zorua are very timid so they will transform to protect themselves,” Fluttershy explained.
“ Sorry if I scared you Zorua guess I was too excited so why don,t we start over,” Turquoise said prompting Zorua to transform back into her original form. “ That’s better now let’s get to know each other. Zorua began to slowly warm up to Turquoise and eventually transformed into her while smiling.
“ I think Zorua finally trusts you as a friend since she turned into you,” Fluttershy said.
“ Great to know,” Turquoise said as Zorua reverted back to normal and allows Turquoise to pet her.
“ Shall we head down to the Gym for my rematch?” Twilight asked.
“ You go on ahead darling me and Turquoise will do some contest training,” Rarity said.
“ May I watch you girls train?” Fluttershy asked.
“ Of course darling,” Rarity said.
“ If your watching mind holding on to Zorua for me I want her to observe,” Turquoise said.
“ I would be happy to,” Fluttershy said as she took Zorua in her arms.
“ Watch closely Zorua because one day I want to enter a contest with you,” Turquoise said before she and Rarity took their positions.
“ Sylveon Center Stage,” Rarity said as she threw a Pokeball that popped open and unleashed a bunch of multicolored stars along with a creature with rabbit ears and ribbon-like feelers along with a couple of bows. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex like she always does with new species she encounters.
“ Sylveon. The Intertwining Pokemon and another evolved form of Eevee. It sends a soothing aura from its ribbonlike feelers to calm fights,” The Pokedex said.
“ Espeon let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said as she called Espeon out. As Espeon and Sylveon performed their combinations Zorua was in awe at seeing them.
“ Watch closely Zorua because one day that will be you in the spotlight,” Fluttershy said.
“ Espeon use Swift while spinning. Espeon spun in mid-air creating a tornado of stars.
“ Sylveon use Hyper Voice. Sylveon unleashed a loud screech that turned light pink indicating the move’s type changed to Fairy. “ I see my Sylveon’s Hidden Ability took you by surprise. Sylveon’s ability is called Pixilate which turns Normal-type moves into Fairy-Type moves. As she explained that the Hyper Voice overpowered the swift tornado and nailed Espeon for a good amount of damage. “ Your combinations need some more work. I suggest you try working on some using your new Pokemon like your Trapinch and Venusaur. After calling their Pokemon back Turquoise had Zorua stand still while she used her Pokedex to check what moves Zorua knew.
“ So far Zorua’s only moves are Scratch and Detect so there is not much I can do with her yet,” Turquoise said.
“ We can work more on training on the road but for now let’s see how Twilight is doing with her rematch,” Rarity said. After all three of them arrived at the Vermillion Gym they arrived just in time to see Twilight deliver the final blow to LT. Surge’s Raichu.
“ Raichu is unable to battle Charmeleon is the winner which means victory goes to Twilight the Challenger,” The ref said which made both Twilight and Charmeleon happy.
“ Raichu return you were amazing as always. As for you, I admire your tenacity most trainers who lose to me decide to quit altogether and never challenge another gym but you’re among the ones who got back up after losing. Those kinds of trainers earn my respect and as proof of that, you have earned the Thunder Badge,” LT. Surge said while handing Twilight her Thunder Badge.
“ Thank you,” Twilight said as she took the badge.
“ Congrats Twilight now we can head to the Rock Tunnel and to Lavender Town,” Turquoise said.
“ But first we must return to Curluleon City,” Applejack said.
“ Right almost forgot about that,” Turquoise said.
“ I wish you girls the best of luck on your journey,” LT. Surge said before all five of them left. Sometime later Turquoise and the other arrived in front of the southern gate into Saffron City which was blocked by a metal door with two members of Team Supernova guarding it.
“ You girls weren’t kidding when you said Team Supernova took over Saffron City,” Turquoise said.
“ Let’s find this underground passage before they spot us,” Applejack said. After going off the path the girls found a rundown tunnel entrance full of cobwebs and dust which grossed Rarity out.
“ Are you sure its safe to go down there it looks moldy and disgusting,” Rarity said.
“ Its the only way to get to Curluleon City unless you know another way to get there?” Applejack said.
“ Fine but don,t blame me if you get sick from these horrid conditions,” rarity said. As soon as the girls made it to the bottom of the stairs they were introduced to a pitch-black tunnel.
“ I can barely see a thing down here,” Turquoise said.
“ These tunnels have been abandoned for so long the electrical systems and lights must have shorted out from disuse,” Twilight theorized.
“ Any ideas on how we can navigate this pitch-black darkness?” Rarity asked.
“ I might have one. Go Charmeleon,” Twilight said as she called out her Charmeleon whose flame managed to light up part of the tunnel. “ Turquoise call out your Corvisquire.
“ Ok. Go Corvisquire,” Turquoise said as she called out her Corvisquire waiting for what Twilight had planned. Twilight pulled out some lanterns and had Charmeleon use the flame on his tail to light them.
“ Have Corvisquire carry one of the lanterns and have him fly ahead of us to illuminate any potential roadblocks or obstacles that may be ahead,” Twilight said.
“ Great idea,” Turquoise said. The girls proceeded through the tunnel and eventually arrived on the other end only to run into an engineer.
“ What are you kids doing down here this tunnel is unsafe,” The Engineer said.
“ This was the only way to get from Vermillion City to Cerluleon City since Saffron City is blocked off,” Twilight said.
“ We understand the situation and we are going to fix the tunnels but it could take weeks since the power supply for the lights is dead and our work lights are barely strong enough to illuminate the dark tunnels,” The Engineer said.
“ Let me have a look at it maybe I can fix it,” Twilight said.
“ What can a kid like you do?” The engineer asked.
“ Let me at it and you will see,” Twilight said. The Engineer showed Turquoise and the others to a door with a voltage sign on it. The room was full of dust and cobwebs like in the tunnel but what was most noticeable was a large rusted generator against the wall.
“ This is the generator for the lights. It’s connected to the other one right next to Celadon City which is currently being inspected,” The Engineer said while Twilight was doing her own estimate.
“ This isn’t so bad we just need to recharge it. That should keep the lights going long enough for your maintenance work but I do suggest replacing these old generators with new ones,” Twilight said.
“ Luckily the mayors of all four cities outside of Saffron agreed to pull all of their funding together to pay for the Emergency Tunnel Revival Project and part of our estimate was replacing the Generators but how will you recharge this rusted up pile of junk?” The Engineer asked.
“ Applejack may I borrow your Yamper?” Twilight asked.
“ Whatever you need Twilight,” Applejack said as she called out Yamper who looked excited.
“ Yamper can you use your Thunderbolt on this generator?” Twilight asked. Yamper obliged and sent as much electricity into the generator as she could causing it to activate and the lights inside the tunnel to light up.
“ Thank you kid now we can focus on clearing and reinforcing the tunnel until the new generators arrive,” The Engineer said before Turquoise and Applejack called their Pokemon back. After arriving in Curuleon City The girls ran into Misty who was dressed like she was going somewhere.
“ Nice to see you, girls, again. I wish I could stay and chat but I need to head to Veridian City to meet someone,” Misty said before trying to take off on her bike.
“ Before you go can you tell us how to reach the Rock Tunnel?” Turquoise asked.
“ Go towards the eastern end of the city and you should find a path that will lead you to the Rock Tunnel,” Misty said before taking off.
“ Let’s head out tomorrow, for now, let’s rest at the Pokemon Center for the night,” Turquoise said with everyone agreeing with her.
