214. Rarity

Twilight walked down the stairs into the Canterlot inn foyer, Applejack gracefully guiding her down the steps so her clumsy librarian feet didn’t trip on her dress. Rainbow Dash was waiting there for them, and she looked amazing.

She wore a suit top with a long coat that trailed behind her, the rainbow colors shimmering every time she moved, and a short skirt that really showed off how toned and sexy her legs were. Twilight had a hard time containing her excitement, biting down on her lip as her ears twitched wildly.

“Yo, Twilight!” Rainbow cheered, clapping her hands when she saw the two women descend into the foyer. “You look SO HOT!”

“Wh—uh—th-thank you!” Twilight stammered bashfully, pressing a hand against her cheek. “Thank you so much, Rainbow Dash! You look amazing too!”

“Of course I do!” Rainbow scoffed and pushed out her hip, and Twilight nearly fainted; that confidence was so hot. “And Applejack, I can’t wait for you to tear these clothes off my body and break my entire ass in half.”

“I dunno what that means,” Applejack laughed, trotting up to Rainbow and planting a passionate kiss on her lips, “but I’m sure I’ll be happy to oblige.”

“So hey,” Rainbow hopped over to Twilight and punched her playfully in the side, Twilight trying not to laugh, “you nervous?”

“Uhhh, wait,” Twilight paused, “first, did everything go okay with Spike?”

“Yes, Twilight,” Rainbow rolled her eyes. “For the like gazillionth time, Spike’s cool and he’s ready for his big adventure. He’s probably still chowing down on donuts, that’s what he was up to when I left.”

“Okay,” Twilight sighed, steadying her breathing and putting her hand over her chest. It wouldn’t do to worry about Spike all night; it wouldn’t be fair to Rarity, or to Twilight herself for that matter. “Okay. So, you asked if I’m nervous? If I could crawl right out of my skin right now, I absolutely would.”

“Well technically you can,” Rainbow looked around, and there wasn’t anyone else occupying the foyer; most other ponies were headed to the Gala already, but Rarity insisted the party be ‘fashionably’ late, so Rainbow leaned in and whispered, “y’know, dragon and all.”

“Don’t even get me started on ‘technically’, Rainbow Dash,” Twilight said with a catlike smirk.

The sound of hoofsteps against the carpeted steps of the foyer’s primary stairway alerted the three women’s attention to the dainty ‘pegasus’ coming down the stairs, and Rainbow and Twilight couldn’t help but coo at her beauty.

“Fluttershy!” Twilight said excitedly. It warmed her heart that Fluttershy got along with Rarity as well as she did, and Twilight couldn’t wait to get to know Fluttershy better herself. That was near the top of her to-do list after the Gala, in fact.

“Yoooo! It’s Fluttershy!” Rainbow hollered, throwing her fist into the air.

“Please, you two,” Fluttershy gently batted her hand at the two girls, Rainbow and Twilight swooning in unison, “you’ll make me blush.”

“You look great, hon,” Applejack said, and Twilight could tell that she meant it, which brought a smile to Twilight’s face. Fluttershy? Not so much.

“Thanks,” Fluttershy smiled thinly; she was uncomfortable, and Twilight worried for a moment if this was going to be a good idea.

“You two are gonna have such a great time together!” Rainbow laughed, putting her arm around Fluttershy and then grabbing Applejack’s hand and dragging her close so Rainbow could put an arm around her too. “I can’t wait to hear all about it when ya get back!”

“Yeah,” Fluttershy said.

“Well then,” Applejack cleared her throat, “you ready to go?”

“I am,” Fluttershy said, gingerly taking Applejack’s hand and departing without another word, merely looking back at Twilight and Rainbow who waved sympathetically and excitedly, respectively.

“You think they’ll be okay?” Twilight asked idly.

“They’re adults,” Rainbow scoffed, “so I sure hope so! Could you imagine? Them just sitting on a grudge with each other for a thousand years, acting like big babies instead of actually working through their shit? Awful.”

“Hehe, I guess you’re right,” Twilight laughed, and that really did make her feel better. She hadn't quite considered it like that before, but when Rainbow put it that way it almost made Twilight feel silly for worrying. “So, Rainbow, what’re your big plans?”

Rainbow grinned devilishly and rubbed her hands together; Twilight wasn’t sure if she should be concerned or excited.

“I’m gonna pull some pranks,” Rainbow cackled. “I’m on my own most of the night, so I’m gonna prank a bunch of the stuffy noble ponies who’ve never worked a day in their lives. It’s gonna be awesome.”

“Rainbow,” Twilight scolded, wagging her finger at Rainbow, who looked disappointed, “that is just—” Twilight snorted and giggled, she couldn’t keep up the act, but she was proud to have at least fooled Rainbow for a second. “That is just brilliant. I love you.”

“I love you too!” Rainbow cheered, grabbing Twilight’s arms and giving her a quick smooch on the nose.

“I hope you have a great time,” Twilight said, holding Rainbow in her arms and kissing her softly. It felt weird to be the holder instead of the holdee, but not a bad weird. It was really nice. “I love you.”

“You said that already,” Rainbow snorted, her cheeks turning bright pink as Twilight nuzzled her.

“I can never say it enough,” Twilight said. “I love you!”

“I love you too, you big dork!” Rainbow playfully pushed Twilight away but she held onto her hand, and pulled Twilight back in, giving her a kiss on her fingers. “I do love you, I don’t ever want you to think that I don’t.”

“I would never,” Twilight reassured Rainbow, running her hand through Rainbow’s mane. “Now go on, there’s a whole lot of stuffy noble ponies who’ve never worked a day in their lives out there, and they’re all waiting on you.”

“You don’t have to tell me twice!” Rainbow beamed, and she galloped off, screeching to a halt as she reached the door and turning back to wave at Twilight. “I love you!”

“I love you too!” Twilight called out, waving back as Rainbow smiled dazzlingly at her. Twilight was still waving even after the doors had closed behind Rainbow, because she just… she just wanted to. She couldn’t believe how full of affection her heart was.

Said heart was thundering in her chest as her ears twitched to the sound of gentle hoofsteps coming down the stairs again. Twilight’s breathing rapidly sped up and she almost couldn’t bear to turn around, fangs digging into her bottom lip almost hard enough to draw blood as she forced herself to look back.

And there she was.

A beautiful ivory mare with curves for days and curls of hair like radiant amethyst, that’s how Rarity would probably describe herself and Twilight found it fitting enough… well okay the part about the curves was all Twilight, but still. She was dressed in a beautiful burgundy dress with gold accents and she walked down the stairs like she owned the whole damn city.

As far as Twilight was concerned, she may as well have.

“You look—” Twilight struggled to find the words as she stood at the foot of the stairwell.

“Radiant? Stunning? Gorgeous?” Rarity helpfully suggesting, striking a new dazzling pose with each word she spoke.

“Hot,” Twilight said, Rarity erupting into a fit of giggles.

“You really have a way with words, my darling,” Rarity said.

“You have a way of making me forget them,” Twilight replied, holding her hand over her face cuz she couldn’t stop grinning like a doofy idiot.

“Don’t you dare hide that beautiful smile from me,” Rarity whispered, taking hold of Twilight’s hand and lowering it, before brushing a hand through Twilight’s bangs. “You are so unbelievably gorgeous, Twilight Sparkle.”

“Well, y’know, I uh, fzghfhdkgjgdg,” Twilight… ‘said’? ‘Said’ doesn’t exactly seem right, it was more like the vaguely word-adjacent noise soup fell out of her mouth like a cat choking up a hairball.

“Mm, serenade me more, dearest,” Rarity smirked, and Twilight found herself caught in this weird space between being almost embarrassed and entirely comfortable. It was nice.

“I love you,” Twilight said, Rarity putting her arms around Twilight’s waist as Twilight leaned in for a kiss. And GAWD Rarity’s kisses were so good. They were sweet, and not even like sugar but like if someone took the very ESSENCE of the flavor of sweetness and injected it directly into Twilight’s bloodstream.

“I love you too,” Rarity whispered, looking up at Twilight with a smitten smirk, her pale cheeks painted bright pink. “And I’m ready to have an absolutely fabulous night with you.”

“You know, it occurs to me,” Twilight purred, “we don’t need to go to the Gala.” Twilight kissed Rarity’s neck, the gasp coming from her lover the sweetest sound she’d ever heard. “We could stay in for a bit. Have the whole night to ourselves.”

“Ooooh, don’t tempt me, sweetheart,” Rarity moaned, her hands lowering to Twilight’s butt and giving her a playful squeeze that made Twilight jump with a yelp. “I promised Luna and Fleur I would introduce you, and you really should meet them.”

“Yeah, that’s true,” Twilight griped.

Twilight really did want to meet Luna and Fleur, but on the other hand she was already thirsty, and she was worried it was only gonna get worse as the night went on. She almost had half a mind to transform into her full form, pick Rarity up in her claw and kidnap her, taking her to a faraway mountain cave where they could be alone together for the whole night.

She wouldn’t, obviously, do that. But she was certainly thinking about it now.

“Besides, Twilight,” Rarity whispered seductively, sliding a hand up Twilight’s dress and grabbing ahold of her, Twilight’s eyes widening and her smile getting ever more bashful, “don’t you think pleasure is even greater-” Rarity took her hands back and walked past Twilight, flicking her tail up at her for good measure “-after it’s been denied?”

Twilight’s head was spinning, her heart was thundering, her breath was like a whole thing? Or whatever? She was hot and sweaty already and she couldn’t wait to see how else Rarity would make her feel before the night was over.

“Darling?” Rarity looked back at Twilight from the door. “You coming?”

“That’s an interesting way to phrase that,” Twilight joked as she caught up with Rarity, who snorted with laughter.

“Twilight, dearest, it’s impolite to make a lady snot,” Rarity said.

“To make her what?” Twilight could barely contain her laughter.

“SNORT!” Rarity cackled, leaning against the wall doubled over from laughing. “I meant to say ‘snort’!”

“Stars, I love you,” Twilight said happily, taking Rarity into her arms and giving her a kiss on the forehead.

“And I love you,” Rarity replied, pulling Twilight in for a kiss on the lips, and the sensation of kissing Rarity still hadn't gotten any less overwhelmingly incredible with time. “More than all the stars in the sky, than all the leaves in the trees, all the snow that falls to the earth. I love you, and I always will love you, long after my last breath has escaped my lips.”

“W-wow,” Twilight said. What else could she say? Rarity was amazing! “Did you practice that?”

“I didn’t!” Rarity clapped her hands and beamed. “I just came up with that on the spot right now! Wasn’t that incredible?!”

You’re incredible,” Twilight laughed, leaning in for one more kiss before the two departed.

You are,” Rarity huffed, her arm locked with Twilight’s as the pair trotted into the snowdripped streets of the neon-lit city of Canterlot. “Well okay, I am too. You’re absolutely right about that.”

Rarity giggled, and Twilight pulled her in for a side-hug and kissed her adorably twitchy little ear.

Twilight had no idea what was in store for the rest of the night, but she couldn’t wait to experience it with Rarity.
