//------------------------------// // Skirts and Pants // Story: Skirts and Pants // by Draxonos135 //------------------------------// "Wallflower Blush, I beg you to wear a skirt!" Wallflower could only look incredulously at the person who had called her to the Rainbooms' room today, Pinkie Pie. This was one of the few times they interacted with each other, and she was gonna waste it with something dumb? "This is one of the few times we interact with each other, and you choose to waste it on something dumb?" "It's not stupid if you think about it!" Pinkir Pie clenched her fist. "For generations, females have only dressed in skirts! It's just recently that they've started to wear shorts and pants as well!" Wallflower folded her arms. "What does that have to do with anything?" "Hold on! I'm getting there!" Pinkie Pie said, waving her hand in a dismissive manner. "Not only that, but the transition presents an incredible surge within the person!" "Really?" "Yes! Going from a skirt to pants or shorts, a sense of security is felt as the fabric tenderly hugs your legs, as if to say, "Your lower body is safe with me!" Wallflower was starting to wonder what was going on in Pinkie Pie's head, but what she said next caught her attention. "Meanwhile, going from shorts or pants to skirts posits a sense of excitement! Of danger! Of the fact that if the wind blows just hard enough, at just the right moment, your forbidden garden will be in full showcase!" "By that logic, why would I want to ever wear a skirt?" Wallflower commented. "Why run the risk of having my forbidden garden exposed when I can just have it covered all the time?" Pinkie Pie paused for a moment, before smirking, "Wallflower, I didn't know you were so bold!" It took Wallflower a second to realize what she just said. It took her just as long to pin down the laughing Pinkie Pie. "You pink jerk! Is that the reason why you called me!?" Wallflower snapped, her voice being lost in Pinkie Pie's ocean of laughter. "If you only want to make me say stupid stuff, then I'm outta here!" "Okay, sorry! I'm sorry! I might've gone overboard there!" Pinkie Pie replied, wiping a tear off her eye. "I'm gonna be serious now; let's switch outfits." "What?" was all Wallflower asked. "Asking you to put on a skirt without giving you one sounds dumb, but swapping outfits is only slightly less dumb!" Pinkie Pie argued. "Besides, we get to wear something different, and I get to see you in a skirt! It's a win-win for both of us!" Wallflower pouted. "I think I missed the part where I win, 'cause I didn't hear it." "Well, I'm sure we'll find a way to make it a win for you too," Pinkie Pie began getting up. "But for now, let's switch!" However, Wallflower grabbed Pinkie Pie's shoulders and pinned her to the ground as she snapped: "No! I'm not going to risk my dignity for your entertainment! Either you give me a clear win for me, or I'm leaving!" Pinkie Pie looked shocked. "Risk your dignity?" Realizing what she said, Wallflower released Pinkie Pie and got up, the party planner following suit as Wallflower explained: "I'm sorry, It's just... this is, for all intents and purposes, the first time we're seriously getting to talk with each other. And to have it all revolve around putting me on a skirt... I just don't really know how to deal with this." "Are hugs okay?" Wallflower turned around, and saw Pinkie Pie with her arms spread wide, sporting a little smile. At this sight, Wallflower rubbed her hair and avoided eye contact. "No. Not now, anyway." Pinkie Pie lowered her arms, her expression flashing sadness before turning into an understanding smile. "I'm sorry for snapping at you like that," Wallflower blushed. "I didn't mean to come off as rude." "I'm sorry, too," Pinkie Pie sighed. "I guess in my excitement to see you in a new outfit, I forgot this is more or less the first time we met." Wallflower scratched her chin. "Well, now that you bring it up... I'm kinda curious about how you'd look in dull colors." "Oh, I'd look awful, no doubt about that." Wallflower smiled. "If you make that my win, I might be more willing to do the clothes swap." Pinkie Pie shook her head with an amused smile, and extended her hand forward, which Wallflower shook shortly after. One quick change of clothes later, the girls stared at each other in the other's outfits. Wallflower was known for looking younger than she actually was, but Pinkie Pie's outfit somehow made her look even younger, if that was even possible. Pinkie Pie, meanwhile, looked like she had just had a dull day with the sweater-pants combo obtained from Wallflowers outfit. They stared at each other for a while... and promptly broke down laughing. "Oh my god, you were right!" Wallflower said in the middle of her laughing fit. "You really do look bad in dull colors!" "Well, pastel colors might look good on you, but they make you look even younger too!" Pinkie Pie chuckled, clutching her gut. "Seriously, you look more like my sister than Maud does!" Hearing that, Wallflower got an idea. She stood up, twirled twice, then stopped and raised a foot while flashing a pair of peace signs. "Hi there, everybody! I'm Wallflower Blush, your parte organizer for today! I'm gonna shower you with candy and balloons today!" "Ahaha! It's funny 'cause I actually did that once!" Pinkie Pie said as she stood up. "Trixie definitely owes me a favor." "Try acting like me now!" Wallflower chirped. Pinkie Pie grabbed her hair and played with it shyly. "I-I'm Pinkie Pie. I'm, um, not very good with people, but uh, I hope we can be friends, I think." "What the heck was that?!" Wallflower laughed as she hugged Pinkie Pie from behind. "I don't sound like that!" "It's the first time we've met! Cut me some slack!" Wallflower and Pinkie Pie hit the ground and began laughing some more as they rolled on the floor, eventually landing at the door... Where the rest of the Rainbooms stood agape, bringing their laughter to a stop. "Uh," Sunset blurted. "S-Sorry?" Pinkie Pie and Wallflower screamed bloody murder. After explaining what happened, and being scolded for being so loud, Wallflower and Pinkie Pie sat at the school entrance, watching the setting sun. "Well... that was an experience," Wallflower remarked while she stretched. Pinkie Pie turned to Wallflower. "Was it a bad experience?" "Not really, no." Pinkie Pie smiled. "Would you like to live it again another day?" Wallflower returned the smile. "Definitely no." The duo shared a lighthearted laugh that lasted for a second. Pinkie Pie stood up shortly after, followed by Wallflower. "Well, I'm gonna go back home," Pinkie Pie extended her hand to Wallflower. "Thanks for putting up with me today?" Wallflower stared at the hand, then looked elsewhere. "Hugs are okay now, you know?" Pinkie Pie flashed the widest smile she had ever shown up to this point, and wrapped Wallflower in a tight hug, which the greenette promptly returned.
