//------------------------------// // An Eventful Sleepover // Story: How To Charm A Bug // by ShowShine //------------------------------// Zephyr Breeze and Chrysalis landed in an alley between two buildings in Cloudsdale. Chrysalis looked around to make sure that no one was around. “Why did you say we should land right here? This is far from my apartment.” Zephyr asked. Chrysalis gave a panicked look. “Do you see the way I look? Ponies are going to riot when they see me.” She whispered. Zephyr gave a sympathetic smile. “I know you don’t like the way you look but I think you look like a goddess.” He said with a wink. Chrysalis blushed and shook her head. “You don’t know who I am but other ponies do. I can’t be seen like this.” Chrysalis stated. She transformed into a green unicorn. She had a long red mane and a red tail. Her eyes were light green and she had a ladybug cutie mark. “There, now no one will freak out when they see me,” Chrysalis said. Zephyr let out a gasp and covered his mouth with his hooves. “You’re so cute!” Zephyr exclaimed, pulling Chrysalis into a hug. A large blush appeared on Chrysalis’ face and she pushed him off. “Just show me to your puny house and we can get this over with,” Chrysalis said with a snarl. Zephyr gave a smile and led his crush out of the alleyway. Chrysalis followed behind Zephyr, looking around. They were in the bad part of Cloudsdale. Ponies fought at every corner and there was trash all over the streets. She looked over to see two rats fighting over a piece of bread. Chrysalis grimaced in disgust. “You live here? I thought ponies were neat and kept everything clean.” Chrysalis said, looking around. Zephyr shrugged his shoulders. “Some places aren’t as nice as others. I live in this part of town cause I can’t afford to live anywhere else.” He explained. Chrysalis frowned. It never bothered her when ponies were in bad places but for some reason, seeing that Zephyr lived in a place like this made her feel bad. If the streets looked like this, what did his house look like? Zephyr opened the door to his apartment and threw his hoof out, showing Chrysalis his place. "This is my apartment!" Zephyr Breeze said excitedly. Chrysalis looked around the apartment in disgust. The apartment was rundown and everything was breaking down. The wooden floor was scuffed up and faded with cracks in it. The walls had mold on it and was dripping from the ceiling. The place looked like a dump. "You live in this filth?" Chrysalis asked in disgust. She lived in a hive filled with filth and this was somehow worse. Zephyr shrugged his shoulders and closed the door behind him, locking it. "It's not too bad once you get used to it. The bugs are good company and I like to water the moss." Zephyr stated. Chrysalis stuck out her in disgust. She looked down the hallway in that led to the rest of the apartment. It was very dark but she could tell the hallway looked just as bad as the living room. "Does anyone else live here?" Chrysalis asked. Zephyr shook his head. She let out a sigh of relief and quickly transformed into her regular changeling self. Zephyr looked up at Chrysalis with hearts in his eyes. He was staring at the prettiest changeling he has ever seen. Chrysalis' stomach growled, snapping him out of his daze. "Oh! You must be hungry. Where are my manners." Zephyr said. He flew up to Chrysalis' head and kissed her on the cheek. Chrysalis opened her mouth and sucked in the love. Once she was full, she licked her lips in satisfaction. "I should get myself some dinner too," Zephyr said happily, flying into his kitchen. He landed in front of the fridge and opened it, only to see a singular hot sauce bottle and half a jug of milk. He closed the fridge and opened the freezer. There were only a few full ice cube trays. Zephyr closed the fridge and walked around the kitchen, looking for some food. After several minutes of rummaging the kitchen, he had found nothing but crumbs and stale crackers. He sat in the middle of the kitchen, staring at the floor with a frown on his face. He looked at the kitchen entrance to see Chrysalis standing there with a look of concern on her face. "Do you not have any food?" Chrysalis asked. Zephyr dismissively waved his hoof. "It's fine, this isn't the first time I had a day without food. I can't go grocery shopping yet because I get my paycheck on Friday but I'll be fine." Zephyr reassured. Chrysalis' brows furrowed and she let out a huff. As much as she didn't want to help Zephyr, his life was pretty pathetic. He lived in the worst part of Cloudsdale, obviously didn't make a lot of money, and couldn't buy food for another three days. Chrysalis transformed back into the green unicorn and turned around. "Show me to the richest grocery store in Cloudsdale," Chrysalis ordered. Zephyr tilted his head in confusion. "You have bits?" He asked. "No, but I have a plan." Chrysalis and Zephyr stood in an alleyway next to a very large supermarket. They both poked there heads out of the alley, looking at the entrance. "What are we doing here? This is the most expensive grocery store in Cloudsdale, I can't afford anything here." Zephyr said. Chrysalis held her hoof up to Zephyr's mouth. "Shush, I'm waiting for someone to come out," Chrysalis said. The sun was setting so the streets were pretty much empty and there would be very few ponies shopping. A purple pegasus stallion walked out of the grocery store, pushing a shopping cart filled to the brim with paper shopping bags. The stallion approached the alleyway, getting ready to walk past it. Chrysalis transformed into herself and let out a low chuckle to herself. She hopped out of the alley, letting out a hiss. Her eyes glowed green and she showed her sharp fangs. Her tongue slithered out of her mouth, flicking saliva into the stallion's face. The stallion let out a loud scream and instinctively flew away. Once he was out of sight, Chrysalis let out a laugh and transformed back into the unicorn. "Dinner is served," Chrysalis said with a smile. Zephyr flew out of the alley and wrapped his arms around Chrysalis happily. He covered her cheek in kisses. "Thank you so much!" He exclaimed. Chrysalis' face turned bright red and she pushed Zephyr off of her. She walked over to the shopping cart and stood up on her hind legs to push the cart. "Let's go back to your apartment and unpack all of this food," Chrysalis said, starting to walk off. Zephyr followed his crush, letting out a dreamy sigh. He was in love with her. A very old scary movie was playing on the wall in the living room. Zephyr had a projector in a spare room and decided it was a good idea to play a movie. Zephyr sat on the couch, eating popcorn from a bowl. Chrysalis laid on her back with her head on Zephyr's lap. "Don't run towards the murderer you idiot!" Chrysalis exclaimed angrily. Zephyr let out a chuckle, making Chrysalis look up at him. Her heart pounded in her chest and her face turned red. This was the first time she had ever felt like this for someone. She had known Zephyr for two days but it felt like she had known each other for years. He had given her more affection than anyone had willingly given her in a thousand years. Usually, when anyone gave her love, it was because she was disguised as someone else. He loved her for who she was and didn't care what others thought about her. Chrysalis was in love with him.
