After walking for miles through the forest Turquoise finally arrived on the outskirts of a city and after entering the City she saw a banner that said Princess Festival on it. Turquoise looked very excited about this.
“ Welcome to South Blue City Miss. Are you here for the Princess Festival?” A woman wearing a red blazer with a matching skirt asked.
“ I am now,” Turquoise said with excitement.
“ Awesome there are a lot of great deals on clothes, food, and many other things for our lovely ladies today and also the annual Queen of the Princess Festival Competition which is our main attraction,” The lady said while showing Turquoise a flyer for the Competition. Turquoise looked more excited and went to look around.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Isabelle of Team Supernova was taking advantage of the drastic discounts at a clothing store. After getting what she wanted she ran up to the register.
“ Put it all on the Team Supernova account,” Isabelle said before throwing all her bags at Chris who was now forced to carry all of them.
“ Do you think Jessie and James will be ok with you blowing our dough on this festival?” Chris asked remembering how extremely mad Jessie can get.
“ Don't you worry about a thing Chris It's the Princess Festival. What girl or woman wouldn’t love it?” Isabelle said.
“ Jessie she hates it so much the last female member of Team Supernova who was caught celebrating it not only got fired but she also ended up getting an earful that she will never forget,” Chris said, still remembering the echoes of Jessie’s screaming.
“ It’s because she never had a princess doll right well. If I win the Queen of the Princess Festival Competition that will change,” Isabelle said.
“ And how exactly are you going to win the competition requires exactly four pokemon to enter and you only have one,” Chris pointed out.
“ Not if I borrow your houndour,” Isabelle said.
“ Even if you did you still need two more,” Chris pointed out. Just when they thought it was over a Delibird came down in front of them.
“ That must be the Team Supernova Delibird,” Isabelle said as the Delibird pulled out two parcels, one for Chris and one for Isabelle. As soon as they signed for them Delibird flew off. Before they opened the parcels they saw they also came with a note directly from the bosses of Team Supernova. Chris read the note.
“ Isabelle and Chris enclosed in these parcels are new pokemon for your mission as a reward for your continued service. Jessie and James,” The note said. After opening the parcels and grabbing the pokeballs Chris and Isabelle threw them and after seeing what they got they suddenly saw their plan coming together.
Meanwhile, at a clothing store, Turquoise was fighting off some women to reach the register. After paying for her purchases Turquoise decided to check out the restaurants next. Turquoise and her pokemon enjoyed the many kinds of sweets they had and while they were eating an announcement played over the loudspeakers.
“ Attention all princess festival attendees, the Queen of the Princess Festival Competition will begin shortly everyone interested in signing up please come to the venue,” The announcement said.
Turquoise recalled her Pokemon and after paying for her meal ran for the Venue. Turquoise signed in and was taken backstage to a dressing room with a huge selection of kimonos.
“ The first round is a beauty pageant and as the first person to sign up you have free reign over the wardrobe until the others arrive,” The stagehand said before leaving. Turquoise looked through the selection of kimonos and found a black one with red crescent moons on it. After changing into it Turquoise styled her long red hair and placed a gold crown on it. After Turquoise finished getting ready the other contestants arrived including Isabelle who Turquoise did not look happy to see.
“ What are you doing here?” Turquoise asked.
“ Same as you to enjoy the Princess Festival,” Isabelle said.
“ Well you won’t win the competition,” Turquoise said.
“ We shall see,” Isabelle said.
After all the girls finished getting ready the stagehand returned to get all the contestants lined up behind the curtain. As soon as everyone was lined up the announcer for the competition began to speak.
“ Welcome everyone to the annual Queen of the Princess Festival Competition where thirty-two of our lovely ladies will be competing for not only a one of kind set of Princess dolls but for a special prize we have this year. We have a very rare Pokemon egg generously donated by our local Pokemon Daycare,” The announcer said as a black egg with patches of red on it appeared on the jumbotron. Turquoise was now more driven to win after hearing the part about the egg. “ And now let the competition begin first the beauty pageant,” The curtain rose and all the girls and women competing dazzled the crowd with their maiden-like charm. After the pageant round ended the girls were all divided into two blocks for the battle round. Turquoise was in Block A while Isabelle was in black B. Turquoise was in the first match and made quick work of her opponent’s first three pokemon.
“ Go Gothita,” The girl on the other end of the battlefield said as a feminine looking lolita creature appeared.
“ Gothita?” Turquoise said while pulling her Pokedex out.
“ Gothita. The Fixation Pokemon. Even when nobody seems to be around, Gothita can still be heard making a muted cry. Many believe it's speaking to something only it can see,” The Pokedex said.
“ Can you keep going Ivysaur?” Turquoise asked.
“ Saur,” Ivysaur said while nodding yes.
“ Then use Razor Leaf. Ivysaur used his Razor Leaf to try and hit Gothita only for Gothita’s trainer to smile.
“ Nice try but I’m ready for your tricks now. Gothita use Confusion and send that Razor Leaf right back. Gothita’s eyes glowed while the Razor Leaf was sent back at Ivysaur and nailed it for some damage which was enough to finish it.
“ Ivysaur return. Thank you for getting us this far now rest. Turquoise pulled out another one of her Pokeballs and threw it. Go Rookidee. Rookidee flew out and looked ready to battle.
“ You challenge my Gothita with that? Don't make me laugh. Gothita use Psybeam. Gothita fired her Psybeam and Turquoise reacted.
“ Rookidee dodge and use Hone Claws. Rookidee dodged and sharpened his claws raising his attack and accuracy.
“ Gothita keep using Psybeam Back to back.
“ Rookidee keep dodging and use Hone Claws back to back. Gothita kept firing Psybeams while Rookidee kept dodging them and sharpening his claws until his Attack and Accuracy were maxed out.
“ Why won't you attack already?” The other trainer asked.
“ There is more to battling than just attacking. There is also the importance of strategy you see. I wasn’t just raising my Rookidee’s stats and dodging. I was preparing for one final attack and it looks like your Gothita is worn out. Time to end this. Rookidee use Power Trip. Rookidee charged at Rookidee with his wings glowing and hit Gothita hard which caused her to be knocked out.
“ Gothita is unable to battle the winner is Rookidee which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said as Rookidee began to glow and grow bigger. As soon as the light faded a bigger bird with gray feathers. Black feathers around the head area and red eyes hovered where Rookidee used to be.
“ And it looks like after an intense battle Turquoise’s Rookidee has evolved into a Corvisquire,” The announcer said which caused Turquoise to pull out her Pokedex.
“ Corvisquire. The Raven Pokemon and the evolved form of Rookidee. Smart enough to use tools in battle, these Pokémon have been seen picking up rocks and flinging them or using ropes to wrap up enemies,” The Pokedex said.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern Field where the B block was held, Isabelle dominated the first round with her Poochyena. After using Bite to finish off her opponent’s Pidgey Poochyena began to glow.
“ Finally my Poochyena is evolving,” Isabelle said with joy. Poochyena began to grow bigger as his tail extended a bit along with his muzzle and ears. After the flash died down a bigger wolf stood where Poochyena was standing. The battles went on and both Turquoise and Isabelle were claiming one victory after another until they both won in their respective blocks. Both Turquoise and Isabelle were now facing each other in the final match.
“ And now for the final match, the champion of the West Turquoise will face the champion of the East Isabelle. Which one of these lovely ladies will win?” The announcer said.
“ I don,t know how you managed to get this far with just that Poochyena of yours but your winning streak ends now,” Turquoise said.
“ Oh I beg to differ Dorkette I may just surprise you in this battle, “Isabelle said.
“ If both trainers are ready then let the battle begin,” The ref said.
“ Corvisquire Take Flight,” Turquoise said as she threw her Pokeball which popped open and sent Corvisquire in with a sparkle.
“ So your Rookidee has evolved. big deal. You're not the only who’s pokemon has evolved. Go Mightyena,” Isabelle said as she sent her newly evolved Mightyena into battle. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex like always with new pokemon.
“ Mightyena. The Bite Pokemon and the evolved form of Poochyena. Mightyena gives obvious signals when it is preparing to attack. It starts to growl deeply and then flattens its body. This Pokémon will bite savagely with its sharply pointed fangs,” The Pokedex said.
“ Will you stop playing with that toy of yours and battle already,” Isabelle said in an annoyed tone.
“ Look lady I don't know how long you've been traveling for but I just started so shut up and let me learn as I go,” Turquoise said.
“ Fine but don,t think that toy of yours will tell you how to beat me,” Isabelle said.
“ I don't need it to. Corvisquire use Hone Claws. Corvisquire sharpened his claws raising his attack and accuracy.
“ Like that will work. Mightyena use Snarl. Mightyena began to unleash a high pitched growl that damaged Corvisquire big time and caused him to lose altitude. “ Now use Thunder Fang. Mightyena’s fangs glowed with electricity as it charged in at Corvisquire and bit down on him thus damaging him more and knocking him out.
“ Corvisquire is unable to Battle Mightyena wins,” The ref said.
“ Corvisquire return. You fought valiantly for me in this competition now rest. Go Ivysaur. Turquoise called out her Ivysaur ready to even the score.
“ Like Ivysaur will make much of a difference. Mightyena use Snarl. Mightyena unleashed his Snarl again but this time Turquoise was ready for it.
“ Ivysaur use Leech Seed. Ivysaur fired his seed at Mightyena and not only was his body bound by the vines but his muzzle was also tied shut. “ See knowledge is power. Mightyena is called the Bite Pokemon because of its variety of biting and sound-based moves so with your Mightyena now muzzled he can't do anything.
“ Like that is all Mightyena can do. Mightyena use Tackle. Mightyena charged at Ivysaur thinking it could not move quickly anymore.
“ Ivysaur stand still and use Poison Powder. Ivusaur unleashed a cloud of Poison Powder as Mightyena came closer and was caught in it. After withstanding the tackle Ivysaur sent Mightyena back which revealed he was now poisoned. The combination of poison and Leech seed suddenly kicked in and gave Turquoise her chance to strike. “ Now finish this with Seed Bomb. Ivysaur fired a barrage of seeds that nailed Mightyena and caused him to faint.
“ Mightyena is unable to battle Ivysaur wins the match,” The ref said.
“ Now you're out of Pokemon so it looks like I win,” Turquoise said only for Isabelle to burst her bubble by pulling out another Pokeball.
“ Who said I was out Go Houndour,” Isabelle said as she sent in Chris’s Houndour which shocked Turquoise.
“ That's your partner’s pokemon, why are you using it?” Turquoise asked.
“ There is nothing in the rules that saids you can’t use another trainer’s pokemon right,” Isabelle said while asking the ref.
“ As long as the original trainer consents to it competitors may barrow pokemon from others,” The ref said.
“ Fine but don,t think that means you will win. Ivysaur use Razor Leaf. Ivysaur unleashed his Razor Leaf and managed to nail Houndour but not by much.
“ Houndour use Ember. Houndour unleashed his Ember and managed to hit Ivysaur for a good chunk of damage.
“ Houndour use Bite. Houndour charged in with fangs in front of him and bit down on Ivysaur.
“ Ivysaur shake him off and use Poison Powder. Ivysaur shook Houndour off and then unleashed a cloud of poison that successfully poisoned Houndour. “ Now use Leech Seed. Ivysaur fired his Leech seed and successfully ensnared houndour and caused a lot of damage with the two-part combo. “ Now finish this with Seed Bomb,” Ivysaur fired his Seed Bomb but Isabelle was not backing down.
“ We won't lose this battle. Houndour use Ember. Houndour fired his final attack and as soon as both attacks landed both Houndour and Ivysaur fainted.
“ Both pokemon are unable to battle so this round is a draw,” The ref said.
“ Ivysaur return. You did a splendid job now rest. Unless you have any more pokemon I don,t know about this is the end of the road for you,” Turquoise said.
“ Guess it's about time I introduced you to me and Chris’s newest members starting with this,” Isabelle said as she tossed her Pokeball and caused it to pop unleashing a white snake with green eyes and a brown sack around its head.
“ What kind of Pokemon is that?” Turquoise asked while pulling out her Pokedex.
“ Silicobra. The Sand Snake Pokemon. As it digs, it swallows sand and stores it in its neck pouch. The pouch can hold more than 17 pounds of sand,” The Pokedex said.
“ You may have a new Pokemon but that won’t guarantee victory. Go Espeon,” Turquoise said as she threw her Pokeball which unleashed Espeon who landed on the field elegantly.
“ Espeon let's start with Psybeam. Espeon unleashed her Psybeam and managed to nail Silicobra who managed to spit out a bunch of sand and covered the field with a sandstorm. “ Where did this Sandstorm come from?
“ That is thanks to Silicobra’s ability Sand Spit. When you hit Silicobra with an attack he unleashes a sandstorm. Now it's our turn to attack. Silicobra use Brutal Swing. Silicobra bit his tail and spun around like a ring with Espeon being unable to sense where he was thanks to the Sandstorm and was nailed for a supereffective hit.
“ Espeon try and sense where Silicobra is and use confusion. Espeon closed her eyes and listened for the sound of Silicobra. As soon as she picked up the sound coming from behind her she used confusion and lifted Silicobra off the ground and then was slammed onto the ground hard.
“ Your Espeon may be fast but let's see how it handles this. Silicobra use Glare. Silicobra stared intently at Espeon with his big green eyes only for Espeon’s Magic bounce to reflect it back at Silicobra like Medusa staring into her reflection.
“ Why is Silicobra the one who is paralyzed instead of your Espeon?” Isabelle asked in shock.
“ It's just like the story of Medusa. When medusa saw her reflection her curse turned on her and turned her to stone. Likewise, when your Silicobra tried to use Glare on my Espeon her magic bounce reflected the effects of Glare onto your Silicobra,” Turquoise explained. “ Now it's our turn to attack. Espeon use Swift while spinning. Espeon began to spin in place and created a swift tornado that not only sucked up the sandstorm and also damaged Silicobra from all sides and knocked it out.
“ Silicobra is unable to battle. Espeon is the winner,” The ref said.
“ Silicobra return. Now it's time to see what Chris’s new pokemon can do. Go Beldum,” Isabelle said as a purple eye attached to what looks like the arm of something made of blue metal came out.
“ What kind of Pokemon is that?” Turquoise asked while pulling out her Pokedex.
“ Beldum. The Iron Ball Pokemon. With magnetic traction, it pulls its opponents in close. When they’re in range, it slashes them with its rear claws,” The Pokedex said.
“ Let’s keep going, Espeon use Quick Attack. Espeon charged at Beldum with high speed.
“ Beldum use Take Down. Beldum charged faster at Espeon and managed to deal a lot more damage than Espeon did and knocked Espeon out.
“ Espeon is unable to battle. Beldum is the winner,” The ref said.
“ Espeon return. You thought bravely and earned a good rest. Now it all comes down to my very last pokemon. Go Ninetales,” Turquoise said as her Ninetales came out and used her Drought ability to increase the sun's rays.
“ Oh no not that one,” Isabelle said while panicking at what she was looking at.
“ That’s right, I evolved my Vulpix and now she has become a more powerful and elegant Ninetales,” Turquoise said before Isabelle regained her nerve.
“ So what, I will still beat you. Beldum use Takedown. Beldum charged at Ninetales really fast only for Turquoise to smile.
“ Let's finish this with one attack. Ninetales use Flamethrower. Ninetales unleashed a stream of orange fire that not only nailed Beldum for a ton of damage but knocked it out, winning Turquoise the match.
“ Beldum is unable to battle the winner is Ninetales which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said as the crowd went wild.
“ And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen the winner of this year's Queen of the Princess Cup Competition is none other than the lovely Turquoise,” The announcer said. Turquoise walked on stage to claim her prize.
“ Congratulations miss here are the set of pokemon princess dolls and your pokemon egg,” The organizer said before giving Turquoise her prize. Sometime later Turquoise was at the Pidgey Delivery Service to send her set of princess dolls back to her house while she carried her new pokemon egg with her back to the pokemon center to heal her pokemon and celebrate her big win.
Meanwhile back at Team Supernova HQ Jessie and James saw the whole Queen of the Princess Festival Competition on tv and James and Meowth were bracing themselves for Jessie’s meltdown only to see Jessie not have one.
“ You're not upset that the new twerpette beat Isabelle on live TV?” Meowth asked.
“ Now why would I be? She may have lost the battle but not the war and besides its the Princess Festival I’m willing to let it slide this time,” Jessie said.
“ I thought you said you hated the Princess Festival?” James asked.
“ I did until someone sent me these,” Jessie said, referring to a one of a kind set of Princess dolls another member of Team Supernova sent her last year.
