Trixie couldn’t believe what she was seeing in front of her. Twilight, the same unicorn mare who ran away from her when she performed in Ponyville, was calming a Big Dipper.
“Great. She used the number one,” said Spike with a smile.
Twilight used her magic to pick up an object that looked like a baby bottle and took the water out. She took it to a farm and filled it with milk. “Awesome!”
“This is a new one,” said Spike.
Twilight closed and led to Ursa Major. Ursa Major began to feel as if she were going to sleep and lost her balance. Trixie was afraid. But Twilight hold the Ursa Major with her, lift the Big Bear up high and bring the ‘baby bottle.’ Ursa Major started drinking milk. The ponies were surprised, especially Trixie, she couldn’t believe it. Twilight, with her magic, took Ursa Major to the cave where she lived. When it was over, she started to breathe tiredly. The ponies applauded, except for Trixie who was still gaping.
“That was amazing!” said Spike.
“Grandma’s pants. We knew you were skilled, but not so much,” said Applejack with a smile.
“I’m sorry. Please, please, don’t hate me,” said Twilight Sparkle, now scared.
“Hate you?”
“What do you mean, dear?” asked Rarity.
“Well, I saw how much you hated Trixie showing off with her powers, so I thought...”
“Magic has nothing to do with it! Trixie is nothing but a straw,” said Rainbow Dash.
“Very unpleasant,” said Rarity.
“A lot of hat and little head,” said Applejack.
Trixie was angry at Rainbow, Rarity and Applejack for being mean to her. She was nothing like that! She was more magnificent and powerful than Twilight!
“So…. Don’t you care about my magic?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Your magic is part of who you are, Twilight,” said Applejack. “We like you the way you are. We are proud to have a talented unicorn like you.”
“And after you sent that Big Bear to her home, we’re even more so,” said Rainbow Dash.
“You are?” asked Twilight Sparkle with a smile. Rainbow, Applejack and Rarity agreed.
“Did you study to know what to do with Ursa Major?” asked Spike, curious.
“It was what I was doing when you called me. I was intrigued by Trixie bragging and feeling obligated to do some research,” Twilight replied.
Trixie couldn’t believe that Twilight prepared more than she did for this. She should be getting those compliments, not Twilight! She was much more talented than Twilight!
“Ah. So is it possible to beat a Big Dipper alone?” asked Spike.
“It was not a Big Bear. It was a baby. Ursa Minor.” Twilight corrected.
“Was that just a baby?” asked Trixie, now surprised. She couldn’t believe that she lost to a baby bear. What would her reputation look like? Everypony would laugh at her after that!
“And she wasn’t violent. She was just nervous because somepony woke her up.”
The ponies looked unhappy at Snails and Snips. Snails and Snips laughed nervously.
“But if that is Ursa Minor... So, how is it a Ursa Major?!” asked Spike, now afraid.
Twilight imagined an Ursa Minor drinking milk from the ‘bottle’ she gave, while she was in the lap of an Ursa Major. The Big Dipper was purple and had long claws and long teeth.
“Don’t you want to know,” said Twilight Sparkle.
Trixie decided to smile with pride as she approached Twilight. She couldn’t make it cheap.
“You may have defeated a Ursa Minor, but you will never have the spectacular powers of the great and powerful Trixie!” said Trixie, before making a smoke. When the smoke cleared, Trixie was out of sight. Everypony was confused. Where did Trixie go?
In an alternative timeline, Nightmare Moon was sitting on her throne, she smiled at her success. She managed to beat her ex-sister during her return after being imprisoned on the moon for a thousand years, and even destroyed the Elements of Harmony after imprisoning Celestia on the moon. The throne room was light blue with her tapestries. Her night maid Rarity, was the one who made the tapestries and placed them on the castle walls. But even though she won, she allowed her subjects to visit the castle.
Suddenly, the door to the throne room opened, revealing Lunar guards. They had expressions of concern as they ran up to Nightmare Moon.
“Princess!” said one of the Lunar guards.
“What’s it?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“We found a mare passed out near the forest.”
Nightmare Moon was confused. “What?” how did one of her subjects get lost in the forest? This forest was dangerous, even for a grown pony.
“Bring her here. I would like to see her,” asked Nightmare Moon. The Lunar guards bowed before leaving the throne room.
Trixie woke up as she got up in a confused way. Where she was? How did it end up in Everfree Forest? She knew she could teleport, but she didn’t expect to go that far. She soon smiled.
“At least Trixie knows how to teleport! I bet Twilight doesn’t even know how!” said Trixie, proudly.
She looked at the moon, and saw the silhouette of a mare. Trixie was confused. Nightmare Moon, but also known as Luna was still on the moon?
Suddenly, she heard footsteps, she looked ahead of her and saw two Lunar guards approaching her. Trixie was confused. Why did Princess Luna’s guards come to her?
“Madam, you need to accompany us to the princess’s castle,” asked one of the Lunar guards.
Trixie’s confusion changed to happiness. “Of course Trixie will.”
The guards and Trixie started walking. Trixie looked at the Castle of the Two Sisters and began to think of something that made no sense. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna ruled Canterlot now, so why was the Castle redone? Was there a princess who ruled the Everfree Forest? But couldn’t be that. The only princesses she knew that ruled Equestria were Celestia and Luna. Then why?
The Lunar guard on the left opened the door with his hoof, and motioned for Trixie to enter first. Trixie did what it were told. Upon entering, she was fascinated by the castle’s decor. Whoever renovated the castle did a good job.
When the Lunar guard closed the door, he nudged Trixie. “Follow us. The princess wants to see you.”
Trixie wondered which princess wanted to see her. Was it Celestia or Luna? But the one she was hoping to see was Princess Luna. She always loved the night and it was always her favorite day period. She always liked the moon and the stars. Perhaps, she could demonstrate Luna her skills as a unicorn.
The Lunar guard opened a large door with the hooves. Trixie walked inside while looking at the decoration of the throne room. She noticed that it had several tapestries. Trixie smiled, she liked some of the tapestries. She noticed that in some of the tapestries they had Nightmare Moon. She looked ahead of her and saw that it had an alicorn on the throne. But there was a darkness that covered the alicorn, which prevented Trixie from trying to identify who was sitting.
When Trixie got very close, she managed to identify the alicorn. She was surprised. It wasn’t Luna, but Nightmare Moon who was sitting on the throne.
Nightmare Moon smiled when she saw Trixie, and especially the crescent moon Cutie Mark. She got up from the throne and went flying to Trixie.
“What’s your name, subject?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Trixie Lulamoon!” Trixie responded with a smile before making several fireworks appear. Nightmare Moon couldn’t deny that she loved that name, especially the surname.
When Trixie finished, she looked at Nightmare Moon. “So, princess? What did you think of this trick?”
Nightmare Moon smiled with joy. “I loved it!”
Trixie smiled at the reply “Really? Thanks. Trixie is really a talented unicorn.”
“Talented and adorable,” Nightmare Moon corrected, still with a smile.
Trixie’s smile fell as she was speechless at the last word. “D-do you think Trixie is adorable?”
“Sure,” Nightmare Moon replied, putting Trixie’s chin up with a hoof. “But how did you get lost in the forest?” she took her hoof off Trixie’s chin.
“Well, Trixie was trying to defeat a Ursa Minor, but Twilight Sparkle humiliated her in front of everypony for being able to calm the baby bear!” Trixie could feel the anger in her when she said that.
Nightmare Moon was confused. “Were you trying to defeat a Ursa Minor?”
“Yes, because two foals brought a Ursa Minor to Ponyville!” said Trixie, annoyed.
“And what happened next?” asked Nightmare Moon, concerned.
“Three of her friends spoke ill of Trixie,” Trixie replied. “Trixie wish she never went to Ponyville, because then she wouldn’t have met that stupid unicorn!”
Nightmare Moon couldn’t deny that she felt like Trixie. Because she was also angry with somepony, and it was her sister.
“Trixie, I understand you.” Nightmare Moon hugged Trixie with a hoof.
Trixie was confused. “Do you understand Trixie? But what do you understand of Trixie?”
“I understand why you’re angry,” Nightmare Moon replied with a smile before being angry just thinking about Celestia. “My sister’s day was always appreciated and my night was ignored. Everypony slept during it, no praise I received. Nopony watched the stars, night sky or else, the moon.”
Trixie felt sorry for Nightmare Moon. “Don’t be like that, princess. I like your night.”
Nightmare Moon returned to smile and leave the embrace. “Thank you, Trixie. I’m glad that at least somepony enjoys my night.”
A Lunar guard opened the door to the throne room, went to Nightmare Moon and bowed. “Princess, dinner is ready.”
“Thanks for letting me know. You can return to your post,” said Nightmare Moon.
The guard bowed before leaving. Nightmare Moon looked at Trixie.
“Tell me, Trixie. Would you like to live in the castle with me?” asked the black alicorn.
Trixie started to think. If she went back to Ponyville, she would probably meet with Twilight, maybe it is better that she stay with Nightmare Moon. Since Nightmare Moon was just Luna, and she would rather be with a princess a thousand times than Twilight. “Trixie would like to stay here, yes.”
Nightmare Moon smiled at the answer. “Would you like to watch the night sky with me after dinner?”
“Of course Trixie would like to,” Trixie replied with a smile.
They then started walking. As they left the throne room, Nightmare Moon closed the door to the throne room with her magic, without looking back.
Trixie was in doubt about something. If Nightmare Moon was in the castle, then who was on the moon? She looked at Nightmare Moon.
“Princess, Trixie has a question,” Trixie started.
“You can talk. I’m listening,” said Nightmare Moon.
“When Trixie was in the forest, she saw that on the moon there was a silhouette of a mare, do you know who’s on the moon, princess?” asked Trixie.
“Yes, I know who’s on the moon,” Nightmare Moon replied. “Who is on the moon is nothing more than my sister Celestia.”
Trixie was surprised by this revelation. But how? Days before she went to Ponyville, the silhouette of a mare on the moon was gone, but now it seems to have returned. But how? This couldn’t be the same Equestria! How did she end up in this different Equestria? She started to think about what happened today. She went to Ponyville to brag and show off her skills, then she tried to take Ursa Minor off Ponyville, which unfortunately she failed, Twilight humiliated her in front of everypony and she used a teleportation spell. Wait. Teleportation spell? When she used that spell she expected to teleport away from Ponyville, but not so far to the point of ending up on an alternate timeline. Now, she was in a different Equestria, where Nightmare Moon is the ruler of Equestria.
She started to think. If she was on an alternate timeline, then it meant that Twilight and her friends failed to stop Nightmare Moon, and if she returned to her original timeline, she wouldn’t be able to endure Twilight, especially after being humiliated by her. Maybe, it is better that she lives in that timeline right here, because then, at least, she won’t have Twilight around, and she can stay with the company Nightmare Moon and enjoy her favorite period since she was a filly: The night.
