At the Crystal Cave below Canterlot
Twilight was staring at the crystal wall in front of her.
A few hours ago she was abandoned by her friends, her brother, and her mentor. Then she was captured by Cadence and confined in this Crystal Cave. Then in a desperate attempt to find a way out she heard a voice coming from the crystal wall in front of her. And that wall just told her that it was the Crystal Of Death.
After staring for a while she asked the crystal wall, "so you're a Crystal Of Death, but you're just a talking crystal wall, I think you're not a monster and this cave isn’t your body, right? ”
"Hmph ... You're so special" exclaimed the Crystal Of Death.
"what do you mean?" Twilight was surprised at the compliment.
“No one has ever heard of this name without fear. I thought when I said my name you would be scared and run away. Thinking that I would kill you, or thinking that I was a dark weapon trying to seduce you. And yes I am not a monster nor a wall. And if you look closely inside this wall you can see me, ” explained the Crystal Of Death.
Upon hearing that, Twilight brought her face closer to the crystal wall and narrowed her eyes to look deeper inside the wall. There she saw that inside the wall was a dark gray rhomboid crystal with a symbol of a silver scythe in the middle.
“Alright, so you are not a talking wall, and you say you are the one of the crystals created by the universe and responsible for protecting the balance of the universe. Your name is Crystal Of Death, but can you really kill someone?” asked Twilight suspiciously.
"The answer is yes and no" the Crystal Of Death answered.
That answer confused Twilight, she asked, "so... Yes or no?"
“As I said my existence is to protect the balance between life and death in the universe. I must destroy anything or anyone who threatens that balance. And one more thing, I cannot kill someone directly, after all I am just a power created by the universe” Crystal Of Death explained.
Twilight was bewildered "I don't understand, if you don't do it then who will?"
“It is my master of course. Those who are chosen will become my master, they will have the power of ultimate death and become the lord of death. They are responsible for using that power to protect the balance as well as destroy any threat to that balance. But I have a question, why aren't you afraid of me? ” Crystal Of Death asked.
Twilight escaped her thoughts when asked. She was surprised that she was able to calm down as she listened to all that the Crystal Of Death had just explained. Perhaps it was because she had gone through so many battles with evil foes to protect Equestria ... Or maybe she just had nothing to lose, because she already lost all her friends, her family, her mentor, all the things she was afraid of losing most.
“Perhaps because I have lost everything I was afraid of losing most, now I am no longer afraid of losing anything. Even if you want to kill me, I guess I won't mind” said Twilight sadly, tears starting to form in the corners of her eyes.
“As I said I am just a power created by the universe I have no ability to kill any creature. And even if possible, I won't take anyone's life unless that person jeopardizes the balance of the universe. However in that case I still won't kill you because you are my Eternal Master”Crystal Of Death said.
Twilight was shocked at what the Crystal Of Death just said to her. 'Is it because of a problem with my hearing, or is it true that the Crystal Of Death just said that I am the master of the Crystal Of Death?'
Scared that she heard wrong she asked again "oh, uhm ... Maybe it was me hearing wrong, but did you really just tell me that I am your master?"
"You didn't hear wrong master Twilight. You're really my Eternal Master .... I think you've heard me call you that since we first met, haven’t you?" Crystal Of Death asked.
Now Twilight remembers when she first heard the voice of the Crystal Of Death, at that time it said welcome master. At that time she was too scared and bewildered to think of a monster in this cave, so she didn't notice it.

However, no question was asked about the Crystal Of Death.

When the Crystal Of Death explained that Twilight was still silent, she was trying to absorb all the information the Crystal of Death had just told her. She finally asked "So what happened to your temporary master?"
“Even when they eradicate chaos in their world, they still have to keep the balance in the universe because it is part of the contract. Even so, they are not immortal, they only live a little longer than those around them. When the time comes they will also have to go to samsara like all the other people" Crystal Of Death explained.
Twilight is still in her thoughts on everything. 'Crystal Of Death just said that I am the Eternal Master of Crystal Of Death and that means I have a responsibility to protect the balance between life and death and at the same time I will have to destroy anyone who threatens that balance. Having to kill someone is something I've never done or even thought of when fighting with enemies like Nightmare Moon or Discord before.'
Seeing she needed time to think, Crystal Of Death said "I know this offer is too sudden and unexpected for you and more so because you are my Eternal Master. You will become immortal by receiving power from me and that means you are responsible for protecting the balance between life and death forever and destroying those who threaten it. You can say my power to you is a ‘gift of curse’. So please think carefully before choosing whether to receive my power or not” said Crystal Of Death with seriousness and coldness.
