//------------------------------// // Chapter 10 // Story: Godzilla // by Gojipower12 //------------------------------// Several years have went by faster than you could say apple. Much has changed since Godzilla’s birth. In fact, he was no longer the tiny infant who loved sleeping on the sofa, cuddling with the hens, and rough-housing with the bear cub that occasionally visited their home with his mother. He has grown tremendously in size and maturity. While Godzilla had a ways to go before he can grow into a colossal mountain-sized Titan, he was now roughly the same size as an adult dragon. At this point, his dorsal spines had significantly grown, though they still weren’t fully developed. Godzilla was laying on a hill near Fluttershy’s cottage, basking in the morning sun. For the mighty alpha predator of Equestria, Godzilla was incredibly lazy, especially during the early morning hours. He opened his eyes upon hearing the familiar creak of the cottage’s wooden door, craning his head to watch Fluttershy walk out. Fluttershy approached Godzilla with a smile on her face. “Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?” Fluttershy asked. Godzilla responded with a snort and several low-pitched grunts. “Oh, really? Well, you seem to be enjoying this spot a little too much.” Fluttershy said with a chuckle, giving her adoptive “son” a hug (or what would count as a hug since she can’t embrace him anymore due to his huge size). “I’m going off to the Everfree forest to find some berries for Angel. You’re in charge until I get back. I love you!” Fluttershy said as she spread her wings and flew off with a basket in tow. Godzilla snorted, lulling himself back to sleep. *** Onix Star sat in a chair, drinking a hot cup of coffee while reading a newspaper. Before long he came across an article that read “Ponyville nominates a giant lizard to become the town's mascot”. He spat out his coffee, reading the article a second time to confirm its validity. “It's the Titan Celestia was talkin' about... She never said anything about it being a damn lizard!" Onix said, getting up. He ran towards a huge pair of doors, kicking them open and running into the lab. “Boys, we got some Titans to hunt down. Are the missiles ready?” Onix asked. “We’re almost ready, sir. But we need more time.” One engineer replied. “Keep workin’ hard! We gotta get these weapons ready before any monster can start rampaging!” Onix said. He walked out of the room, storming towards his quarters. Lying on a large wooden desk was a huge cluster of papers waiting to be looked upon. He threw them all aside, picking up a dusty, wrinkled up paper that looked like it was manufactured in the 1930s. A grainy picture loosely depicting a giant reptilian creature was scribbled onto the paper. It was faded and most of the details weren’t eligible, but Onix knew what the portrait was depicting. “Everypony in that town may have been fooled, but not me. Not me, ya hear? I know what you really are.... a MONSTER. I never forgot what one of your kind did to my folks so many years ago. And now, it's about damn time I repay the favor." Onix said, a hard glare on his face as he stared at the picture with contempt.
