"With a Smile and a Song"/"Whistle While You Work"

The next day, while our heroes were still sleeping, the animals were coming out of their hiding places. There were rabbits, deers, squirells, chipmunks, lots of birds, including the little blue bird and his parents. One of the rabbit went into the tent to investigate. Carefully he sniffed each one of the weary travelers, finishing with Snow White, who was waking up.

"Oh!" she said in surprise, causing the rest of our heroes to wake up in shock and the forest animals to run and hide. Some hid in bushes, some in logs, some in trees. "Please don't run away." Snow White said as she and the others were coming out of the tent. "We won't hurt you." Slowly, the animals came out of hiding but stayed where they are just in case. "I'm awfully sorry. We didn't mean to fighten you. But you don't know what we've been through. And all because I was still afraid. I'm so ashamed of the fuss I've made." She then looked at the little bird and his parents. "What do you do when things go wrong?" She asked. They answered with a whistle "Oh! You sing a song!" They nodded their heads yes. Then Snow White started vocalizing, with the little bird mimicikng her. Snow White vocalized a second time, with the little bird mimicking her again, then the little bird flew down to her finger as she was vocalizing a third time, and tried to mimic that too, much to the approval of his parents, but ended it with a shrill note, causing them to have sour looks on their faces, as well as a sour look on his face. But our heroes couldn't help but admire his heart and courage. Then, Snow White started to sing.

As she sang, a buck deer, some raccoons, and a family of quails from a nearby river listened to her, and some birds on the buck's antlers started to sing with her.

As the song continued, all the animals came closer to the weary travelers. The raccoons on the river wanted to join in, waking up a sleepy turtle. And the family of quails raced see the singing princess.

A chipmunk came closer to her, but runs away when she tried to pet him, but a fawn gets closer and lets her pet him as the other animals came closer. A rabbit let Snow White pet him as all the animals approached our heroes, finally knowing that they are friends.

Our heroes and all the animals applauded to Snow White as she finished.

"She has such a beautiful singing voice." Rarity said to Phinean.

"Indeed." He replied. "Her song comes from her heart."

"So, how are you feeling now, Snow White?" Sunset asked.

"I really feel quite happy now." Snow White answered. "I'm sure we'll get along somehow. Everything's going to be all right. But we do need a place to sleep at night."

"Well, we can't sleep underground like the rabbit." Sunset said, causing the rabbit to shake his head.

"Or in a tree the way the squirrels do." Twilight added, causing the squirrels to shake their heads.

"And I'm sure no nest could possibly be big enough for all of us." Phinean concluded. Then, Snow White had an idea.

(Play at 3:23)

"Maybe you know where we can stay." She said to the birds. "In the woods somewhere?" The birds tweeted a joyous yes. "You do? Will you take us there?" And when the birds answered yes, The Rainbooms packed up the sleeping bags and pillows into backpacks while Sunset loaded the tent into her backpack, and then, our heroes followed the animals. They followed by a river and through the woods. Soon, the animals led our heroes to where they can stay, which happens to be a cottage in the woods, with a bridge just over a small creek.

"Oh, it's adorable!" Snow White said. "Just like a doll's house."

(Pause at 0:06)

"Is it just me, or is it a little small for a house?" Twilight asked.

"Maybe it's someone's vacation retreat." Pinkie said. "And I think we're due for a vacation ourselves. Let's see if we can rest here."

Our group of travelers went to see it, followed by the animals that led them here. "I like it here." Snow White said before going to a window and saw there was dust on it, so she wiped the dust of in a circle to see, with a raccoon mimicking her. "Ooh, it's dark inside." She then went to the door and knocked once, with no answer, so she knocked again, and still no answer. "Guess there's no one home."

(Pause at 0:48)

"Then we'll have the place to ourselves." Pinkie said. "C'mon." She then started to open the door, but Sunset stopped her

"Wait!" Sunset said. "Don't go in!"

"Hey!" Pinkie said. "Take it easy on the skirt!"

"We can't just walk into someone else's home!" Sunset said. "They might think we're tresspassing!"

"Don't worry." Pinkie said. "If anyone does live here, they'll give us sactuary once they know we're fugitives."

"Well, okay." Sunset said. "Let's give it a shot." Snow White then opened the door.

"Hello?" Snow White asked. "May we come in?" Tiptoeing inside, she puts her finger to her lips, and our heroes and the woodland creatures follow Snow White inside. The turtle lumbers through the door as the princess and our heroes look around at intricate carvings adorning the cottage's interior. Snow White spots a little chair with an owl carving on it.

"Oh!" She said in surprise, causing our heroes to jump back and the animals to run for the door, spinning the tortise around. "What a cute little chair!" She then sits, our heroes relax and the animals look on. "Why there's seven little chairs! Must be seven little children. And from the look of this table, seven untidy little children."

"That's putting it lightly." Sunset said.

"Indeed!" Rarity added in agreement. The group then began to study items on the table. "A pickaxe."

"A stocking too!" Snow White said holding the stocking up. Sunset then lifts the lid off a pot and reaches inside.

"And, is this a shoe?" she asked. The birds whistled in astonishment. The rest of the group approch the fireplace.

"And would you look at the fire place?" Twilight asked. "It's covered in dust." She then blows at it, causing the animals to sneeze at a cloud of dust, and a chipmunk sneezed so hard he flew into a mug.

"And look, cobwebs everywhere!" Fluttershy said, while a squirrel got tangled in one of them. "My, my, my!"

"What a pile of dirty dishes!" Rainbow Dash said.

"I wonder if they never touched this!" Applejack said pointing to a broom with cobwebs all over it.

"Why they've never swept this room." Snow White said. "You'd think their mother would..." Then, a thought came to her. "Maybe they have no mother." A doe and a fawn shock their heads. "Then they're orphans. That's too bad." The doe licks the fawn

"Well, there's gotta be something we can do." Trinity said.

"I know!" Snow White said. "We'll clean the house and surprise them! Then maybe they'll let us stay."

"Great idea!" Phinean said. Snow White then handed her cape to some birds, who hung in onto the wall. "Now, you wash the dishes." She said to Twilight, Sunset, Trinity, and Spike. "You tidy up the room." She said to Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Phinean. "You clean the fire place." She said to Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity. "And I'll use the broom."

"Okay, guys!" Sunset said. "Let's clean this house!"

The birds then whistled a bugle call as the animals began to help out our heroes. They carried the dishes to the sink and swept the furniture as Snow White sweeps the hearth.

The squirrels, the chipmunks, and the fawn were helping to clean the dishes by licking them and wiping them off with a squirrel's tale. Spike knew he had to tell them they were doing it wrong.

"Hey, guys?" He said to the animals. "Maybe it works best if you put them in the sink." Realizing their mistake, the animals did just that as the fawn pumps the water with his tail.

Meanwhile, two squirrels sweep a pile of dust under the rug, but Snow White stopped them.

"Not under the rug." They then swept the dust into a small hole in the wall. They wink at each other, and then an angry mouse blows the dust back out again, chatters a very angry chatter at the squirrels and kicks some dust up as he goes back into his hole. Meanwhile, Snow White dusts a pipe organ, and some squirrels dust off a mug that plays music. Sunset shakes a dusty cloth out an open window, while a squirrel watches her and shakes his tail out the window. Another squirrel winds cobwebs off with his tail, while a chipmunk pulls on a tough spiderweb and falls into a sock hanging from a coat hook. Another chipmunk winds spiderweb into a ball, but the spider glares at him and the chipmunk runs away. Birds put flowers into a vase on the table, while 2 more birds carry water in a leaf and a humming bird pokes at the leaf causing the water to fall to the flowers. Animals drag clothes across the floor. Riding a pair of overalls across a pickaxe, a chipmunk tumbles out. Snow White gathers the clothes and puts them over a deer. As the deer walks away, she hangs a pair of overalls on it's tale. The deer stumbles on the clothes as it walks out the door. At the stream, the animals wash the clothes, while the deer adds more garments to the water as raccoons rub the laundry against a washboard and some rocks. A chipmunk uses the turtle's belly as a washboard, causing the turtle to laugh. Birds pull the shirt away, snapping the chipmunk into the turtle's shell. Twisting the garment, the birds ring water out of the shirt, then hang it on a clothes line between 2 trees. The princess stand by the cottage door while a blue bird perches on her finger.

The bird flys away as she continues sweeping. Little do our small group of travelers know that they will be suprised as to who the owners of the cottage really are.
