Chapter 31: Good and Evil: Part 1

Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow all charged their horns.

"I've said it once, and I'll say it again..." Grogar said, his hoofs continuing to tap on the floor. "... you've done it! You've managed to trick me... and my associates."

As soon as Grogar finished speaking, the Storm King's body suddenly collapsed on the floor. Grogar turned his gaze to the unconsious body. There, he finally saw the reason why the Storm King (and probably King Sombra) were so stiff.

There, attatched to the back of the Storm King's body, was a large wooden pole. Attatching the pole to the Storm King was what appeared to be some sort of clay, that looked as if it was attatching the pole to his body. Connected to the wooden poles were four more poles. Two of the poles were attatched to his arms while the other two were attatched to his legs. Connected to the bottoms of the poles on the Storm King's legs were small wooden planks, which was how he must of been standing.

"It was convenient that we found all of those supplies," said Tirek, Grogar returning his gaze to the reformed trio.

"Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to put this plan into action," Cozy piped.

"Indeed, you have succesfully managed to outsmart me..." Grogar sneered. "I guess I thought I could actually take care of you. And perhaps I still can. The amount of magic ejected from the bell was enough to make all three of you so powerful, the three of you combined is as powerful as me alone. So let's just see how well you three can hold up against me... HIYAH!!!"

Grogar suddenly lit his horns and fired a yellow and black beam, which began blazing directly to Cozy, Chrysalis, and Tirek.

But luckily, Tirek was first to react. An orange ball of magic appeared above his head, and immediatly an orange beam shot out and struck against Grogar's beam, struggling to push the beam away. Chrysalis was the next to fire, her green beam joining Tirek's orange beam in pushing back Grogar's yellow and black beam. But Tirek and Chrysalis' combined beam was still struggling on fighting Grogar's.

And then Cozy charged her horn and fired, streaks of red entering the orange and green beam as Cozy's magic combined with Chrysalis and Tirek's.

And now the beam being fired against Grogar's magic was no longer struggling.

The combined magic of Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow fought back Grogar's equally strong magic, both neither moving forward or being pushed back. But despite that, Chrysalis, Cozy, and Tirek came to the realization that the extreme amount of magic was pushing them back. They felt their hooves slide ever so slightly on the ground.

Grogar was being pushed back as well.

But finally, the reformed villains managed to stand their ground, no longer being pushed back. Grogar did the same.

And Cozy managed to hold back a jump when she felt something cold and metallic touch her back leg.

The raging battle lasted for seconds longer, before Grogar was able to guide the magic beam of his opponents. With a loud grunt and the flick of his head, the area where both beams met was curved to the wall, exploding on impact and leaving a gaping hole in the wall.

Both beams faded when the explosion happened. Grogar and the reformed trio looked at each other once more.

"If it has to be like this, I can do this all day," Grogar sneered, now walking closer to his foes.

"Us too," admitted Tirek.

"Oh please," Grogar snarked. "You three may be as powerful as me combined, but with one of you out of the way, it will make your defeat even more possible."

Grogar continued monologuing, and even began to pace, resulting in his attention diverting from Cozy Glow, who turned her head to look behind her. And that's when she saw what was brushing against her foreleg: the Bewitching Bell.

Cozy looked at Grogar, still pacing and speaking.

Cozy turned her head to face Chrysalis.

"A little question to help me remember..." whispered the filly. "How do you teleport?"

Chrysalis looked at Cozy.

"Simple..." the changeling whispered. "First, think of the place you want to be. Then, concetrate and imagine yourself there. Focus very hard... why do you ask?"

Cozy nudged her head to the side, instructing Chrysalis to peek at what was resting behind Cozy.

When Chrysalis saw the bell, she looked at Cozy with uncertainty. She nodded, lifted a hoof, and placed it on Cozy's back.

Cozy turned to Tirek.

"Tirek... I need you to grab on..." Cozy instructed. "Trust me."

Tirek cocked a brow, but he obeyed anyway. He lifted his clawed hand and set it behind Cozy's head, his hand touching Cozy's bright mane.

The closeness of Tirek's hand to Chrysalis' hoof earned another minor blush from Chrysalis.

"Um... Grogar..." Cozy called out, interrupting Grogar's monologue. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

Grogar squinted his eyes. And then the realization set in.

"MY BELL!!!"

Before Grogar could do anything, Cozy lifted her back hoof and placed it on the bell. At the same time she lit her horn, the rosy color illuminating greatly.

Grogar sent another blast.

But before it could hit Cozy, a large red spark envelloped her and her friends.

And in a flash, they were gone.

When he saw no ashes and no bell, Grogar stomped his hoof, gruffing loudly. But then he immediatly calmed down.

"You come at a disadvantage..." he muttered. "You make it your advantage."

*Canterlot streets...*

Tirek, Chrysalis, and Cozy stood in the place of a bright red glow that sparked in the street.

"Wow," Chrysalis said, removing her hoof from Cozy's back.. "Not bad for a teleportation spell. All of Twilight's problems would end faster if it was like this."

Cozy didn't acknowledge the compliment, but instead, looked at the bell that was trapped under her right rear hoof while Tirek removed his hand from her head.

Immediately Cozy's horn lit and the red glow covered the bell. The Bewitching Bell slid out from under the hoof, lifted over her rear, levitated forward, and was then lowered down until the face of the bell was directly in front of Cozy's.

Cozy felt an odd chill when she stared at the eye of the bell. A chill she never felt before when seeing the bell. Perhaps reformation made her more iffy around evil artifacts. But no matter what, all possible reasons led to the same result... the feeling in Cozy Glow's stomach that the eye on the bell was staring deep into her soul. And the discomfort was sickening.

"Cozy?"

Cozy turned to Tirek, who seemed worried when speaking her name.

"Are you alright?" the centaur asked.

"Y-yeah..." Cozy stuttered. "I'm fine."

"Why did you bring us here?" Chrysalis questioned.

"Grogar will find us anyway," Cozy said. "I mean, he has that crystal ball. It was only luck that let us outsmart him."

"That doesn't answer my question," said Chrysalis.

"I just thought of it," replied Cozy. "No big reason."

"So now we have Grogar's bell..." Tirek muttered. "I mean, that's good! As long as we have it, he can't take or give more magic."

"I believe the magic of every being in Equestria is in this bell," Chrysalis stated.

"Speaking of which, where are they anyway?" Cozy wondered. "I mean, Grogar can't fit stone statues of every living being in a garden."

"Not unless he sent them away or imprisoned them somewhere else," Chrysalis said.

"So what do we do now?" asked Tirek.

Everycreature looked at the bell that Cozy still held in her magic.

They all had the same horrifying thought in their heads.

"I guess we... take the magic from the bell," whimpered Cozy, stepping forward and turning around to face her friends. The bell levitated next to her.

"I mean, it is the only way for our power to be greater then Grogar's," Chrysalis said.

"But then again, the fact that we are taking more power from the bell then what we got... doesn't that make you uncomfortable?" Tirek pointed out.

"I mean, when we took some power from the bell earlier, we were just fine," Cozy stated.

Tirek and Chrysalis raised their brows.

"Ok maybe we were a little uncomfortable..." Cozy admitted. "But we had to do it."

"Well, we seem more hesitant than last time," said Tirek. "But just like last time, we have to do this."

"Ok, let's list the pros and cons of this..." Cozy suggested.

"Pros and cons?" Tirek cried. "Ok, fine. Pros: We have a better chance of defeating Grogar! Cons: This will give us great discomfort! Let's see here... it's still a tie!"

*Canterlot...*

Grogar made his way closer to the room he intended to go to. He smirked when the doorway was in sight.

The door creaked when it opened.

And Grogar laid his eyes on the human, still sitting on the chair, and still trapped in the spell that restricted any movement below his head.

The human lifted his head.

Grogar grinned.

"I may need you for just a little bit longer..." he said, chuckling.
