The magic from Twilight Sparkle's pendant device is unleashed, and transformed her into a beautiful and terrifying dark winged "angelic demon" monster. All this monster knows is Cinch and Shadowbolts' only interest in this business: to see Canterlot High School fall. This monster, Midnight Sparkle, destroyed Canterlot High School and the Wondercolt statue with each magic blast from each one of her hands. The moment Sunset and her friends started to defend themselves from the blasts, the ground underneath them is destroyed. At that moment, the ground underneath all Canterlot High School students and staff is destroyed. The portals open up all over the fallen Canterlot High School area. Sunset, her friends and all Canterlot High School students and staff have fallen.
Cinch and Shadowbolts are now absolutely sure they have just seen Canterlot High School fall. They're just as sure they don't want to fall into portals. The Crystal Prep students panic in great fear. Midnight Sparkle is not interested in seeing such things. Any typical villain is gleefully happy about this chaotic mayhem of destruction made slowly. Any typical villain robbed of all positivity and fun have none of the glee or happiness and did not waste time to make complete this chaotic mayhem of destruction in a matter of seconds. Midnight Sparkle had nothing positive left in her the moment she's created. "Show's over. Wondercolts are getting up." Midnight told Cinch and Shadowbolts, knowing their only interest in this business has ended. Wondercolts struggle to get up. Shadowbolts don't know where to go. Midnight Sparkle see in the portals Equestria frequently changing its timeline save one portal. Only now does she fly above Shadowbolts and Wondercolts.
Principal Cinch tries to creep out of this place. Sunny Flare noticed it and gets immediately angry at her. "Hey! Where are you going!?" Sunny Flare demandingly asked Principal Cinch. "Anywhere to avoid that... monster!" Cinch dramatically said, standing her ground. This shocked Sunny, but what else it did to her is unclear. Cinch was not finished saying things to Sunny. "And I suggest you do the same!" Cinch tries to run away, but a different Midnight Sparkle is right in her path flying straight to her. This different Midnight Sparkle is in glee and clearly has so much fun in making her former tormenters scream in fear. She is way too similar to Midnight Sparkle's "past". Sunny Flare looks up where a Midnight Sparkle would have been flying above students, only to find out Midnight Sparkle is not there anymore.
The different Midnight Sparkle stopped Cinch in her tracks. Cinch gasped at the sight of her because she looks no different to Midnight Sparkle. Sunny Flare found out thanks to the gasp of Cinch. The different Midnight Sparkle is so close to hitting Cinch with an intense beam of magic. Then a bolt strikes down on the different Midnight Sparkle. It looked like a shadow. It was Midnight Sparkle, who stroke down on the different Midnight Sparkle like a shadow bolt of lightning. Then she throws her and fires very intense beams of magic blasts at her in rapid quick succession until the different Midnight Sparkle looks like portal holed swiss cheese. Midnight Sparkle followed it by quickly slashing, slicing and dicing the different Midnight Sparkle to oblivion with her bare hands and feet. Then she rips the different Midnight Sparkle apart and blasts her in an explosion of rubble. The different Midnight Sparkle is now no different to the rubble piles of Canterlot High School and Wondercolt statue. Cinch and Sunny just saw that monster's monstrous execution of a monster that's like that monster. All of this because Midnight Sparkle's "past" have tormented her for years.
Midnight Sparkle sees the one portal that leads to an alternate version of this world, an infected one. Through the portal, she sees another portal far away and the contagious counterparts entering it. "Twilight!" said Sunset. Midnight turns to Sunset. "You can't do this!" said Sunset. "So what?! We just let the world become a monster?!" Midnight asked angrily. "You're destroying this world to get magic!" said Sunset. "Don't be so dazzled by this magical terror I've constructed, Sunset. Only the magic of friendship is powerful enough to destroy this world any way you want." said Midnight. "Destroying this world with the magic of friendship?!" asked Sunset. All students and staff of Canterlot High School and Crystal Prep Academy now hear the moans of their infected monstrous counterparts of themselves. "This world is infected. Its destruction by friendship magic is its only hope of its restoration." said Midnight. Cinch is now visibly terrified of the monstrosity of it all.
Shadowbolts decided to help Wondercolts from the portals and the infected zombies. Midnight and Sunset sees this. "It's settled then." Midnight tells Sunset before she left to defend the people of CHS and CPA from the zombies. Twilight's pendent is in Sunset's hands. As the Wondercolts and Shadowbolts are safe for now, the pendent locked on to Sunset's five friends. She has her moment of realization before she faces Midnight Sparkle. "This isn't the way!" Sunset begins her speech to Midnight. Midnight focuses on helping students and staff of CHS and CPA while Sunset continues her speech. "I know you feel powerful right now like you can have everything you want! I've been where you are! I've made the same mistake you're making! I put on a crown and just like you I was overwhelmed by the magic it contained! I thought it could get me everything I wanted!" "There's no time to waste." Midnight tells Sunset. "No you can't! Even with all that magic and power, you'll still be alone! True magic comes from Honesty! Loyalty! Laughter! Generosity! Kindness!" Sunset uses her friend's magic. "I understand you Twilight! And I want to show you the most important magic of all!" Sunset closes Twilight's pendent and throws it down to the ground. The magic of her friends is unleashed, and transformed her into Daydream Shimmer. "The magic of friendship!"
Midnight finds Sunset's transformation complete. Daydream's friends are happy for her. Midnight Sparkle is battered and exhausted from keeping zombies away from people. Her two wings rests where she stands. She takes deep breaths as she struggles to stand. Daydream closed all the portals with her magic. "Did that do it?" asked Midnight. With Daydream's senses no longer dazzled by magic, she sees Midnight Sparkle's current condition. A moment of silence. "Then I served my purpose. Do what you want to do to me." said Midnight. People of CHS and CPA only have a moment before Midnight Sparkle speaks again. "Wait...I don't think I made it after all." The wings of Midnight stands up. "They're waiting now. Every single monster. Finish me off before infection takes me over." Midnight tells Daydream. Daydream now feels guilty for some reason. Maybe it's because Midnight Sparkle willingly handed Daydream Shimmer victory over a silver platter, without a hint of remorse or emotion. The victory was calculating. "Twilight!" said Spike. Twilight takes control of Midnight. "I'm sorry Spike." Twilight softly and guiltily said. Midnight takes control of Twilight just to be defeated by Daydream Shimmer's magic beam, but she kept her eyes open through it all because she's here to see the magic of friendship. "Ngh! Gaaaa! Arrrrrggggghhh!" Midnight screams to the world, expecting her demise.
Two beings are in the tower of light: Daydream Shimmer and what's left of an unconscious Midnight Sparkle. Daydream float towards her. "Take my hand Twilight. Let me show you there's another way. Just like someone once did for me." Despite Midnight Sparkle's eyes, it is Twilight who eventually takes over Midnight Sparkle's body. But she is in immense phantom pain from injuries that are no longer there. And her tears won't stop flowing. She takes Daydream's hand anyway. Two beings float down until they land on the ground. The tower of light vanished. Shown for everyone to see is Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle in all of Midnight Sparkle's body wearing her Crystal Prep Academy uniform. Sunset's Daydream magic still flows through and around Twilight from holding Sunset's hand. Sunset gasped at the visible great additional pain Twilight feels from Sunset's Daydream magic.
Twilight speaks to no one in particular. "I won't abandon your shoes to your lonely road." Daydream magic is on Twilight's skin. "I will always be with you." Twilight touches her Midnight eyes where she looks, bringing back her iris and pupil. Her eyes retain its Midnight background eyes. "Strike your bolts in me." Eyes closed, Twilight combs her frazzled Midnight hair with her hand covered in Daydream magic until her hair is in Twilight's hair style. "I won't see you end as shadows." Twilight takes in her period of quietness. "You're all crystals." After a moment, Twilight raised her head to eye contact. She lets go of Sunset's hand. Now Twilight speaks to Sunset. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen." "I know. And going by my own experiences, they'll forgive you." Sunset tells Twilight. Sunset's hands takes Twilights hands. Spike has his time with Twilight.
Cinch had to get up from her hiding place due to it being literally made of rubble. She still sees the monster, but a different behavior in said "monster". Cinch has so many questions. She should thank Sunset for asking Twilight some of those questions. "But, how are you still a demon? And why?" "I lost my human self in the transformation. I have no intention of hiding behind a human body, Sunset. No body of mine or anyone else's changes the fact that I'm already a demon. I live my tormented life, this body, in the open to never forget what I've lost... the time I've lost... the injuries I've lost... the dreams I've lost... the life I've lost... the body I've lost... the friends I've lost... they all won't stop hurting." Twilight's tears leave her whenever they want and however they please. "It's like they're all still here. You feel it too don't you? I'll make crystals from their shadows. Take them to Crystal Prep with me. Give shining lights to members of CPA, even in my demise." Tears of her own is the only thing Sunset knows how to express about this. "Why would you do this to yourself?" Sunset asked Twilight. And Twilight answered. "It's all gone Sunset. CPA, CHS and people of both of those programs. All that's left of them is rubble and us. As a Shadowbolt, and the very person who did this, I have to take responsibility for all of it. Destruction only brings more destruction."
A different hand holds on Twilight's Midnight hand. It was Sugarcoat. "Sugarcoat?" Twilight express her surprise at the very fact Sugarcoat is alive and well. "At least you didn’t manipulate Twilight into releasing all the stolen magic and turning into a power-crazed magical creature that tried to rip the world apart just to win a game like she did." she quickly said. Pinkie expresses her notice as Sugarcoat raises her eyebrow at it. "Wow! That’s a lot to take in when you say it all at once!" "Pinkie Pie?" Twilight express her surprise at the very fact Pinkie Pie is alive and well. "Actually we’re all to blame." Sour Sweet admits in sadness, only to be immediately grumpy. “But mostly it was her.” "Sour Sweet?" Twilight express her surprise at the very fact Sour Sweet is alive and well. "She wanted you to bring all of them down. It was that or they become monsters." Sunny Flare said. "Sunny Flare?" Twilight express her surprise at the very fact Sunny Flare is alive and well. Then she sees the rest of the Shadowbolts, Wondercolts, Crystal Preparations Academy staff and students and Canterlot High School staff and students. "Everyone is alive?" Of course, Twilight express her surprise at the very fact they are all alive and well. They nod yes. "C'mon. Let's get this over with." said Sunny Flare. Twilight lost the ability to take any of this seriously. Twilight turns to Sunset and says something to her. "I'm going to be honest with you." Twilight's hands takes Sunset's hands. Sunset is surprised for all to see. "Friendship is in demons too." Twilight cutely said, in Midnight's beautiful body. Sunset blushes and transforms into Daydream over her sudden rush of feelings, because it's like a dream for Sunset. Congratulations Twilight, you're the new Midnight!
