I got up excitedly and ran to my mothers’ bedroom, my bedsheets clinging on for dear life. I pushed the door open and jumped straight onto her bed.
“Mum wake up!” I shouted excitedly repeatedly
“Starlit go back to bed it’s like six in the morning..” my mother groaned
“Mum it’s my first day of school!” I gleefully shouted “Cmonn! I don’t want to be late!”
Rubbing her eyes she got up and yawned.
She smiled then said “fine, let’s get breakfast ready.”
I ran downstairs straight away and got myself a juicy red apple, I was about to take a bite out of it when my dad burst through the door.
“Daddy!” I shouted giggling
“Hello, Starlit”, My dad replied smiling “You’re up early.”
“It’s mah first day of school Daddy!” I giggled
mum walked over and nuzzled dad.
“How was work, Moonlit?” she asked, yawning halfway through the sentence.
“Caught another pony trying to sneak into the castle after dark.” he replied “fifth one this week.”
“That’s troubling,” mum replied before asking “We were about to have breakfast, want some?”
dad grabbed an apple and sunk his fangs into it, draining the juices out of it.
Licking his lips Dad asked, “These are great solar, where do you get them?”
“Sweet apple acres.” Mum replied, “It’s a farm in ponyville.”
My stomach rumbled and I remembered the apple I left on the bench. I grabbed it and sank my tiny fangs into it, sucking up all the juice. It was the best apple I ever had.
Licking my lips I walked back over to my parents who were deep in conversation.
“I am quite worried, Celestia and Luna haven’t been getting along rece-” dad paused, “Oh hello Starlit. How was breakfast?”
“It was great daddy!” I giggled.
“Oh, heavens look at the time!” Mum groaned “Starlit, can you pack your bag, I have some errands to do before we get you to school.”
I ran upstairs and got my bag, it was already full with books my mum got the previous day, I packed my pencil case and ran downstairs, my mum and I said goodbye to dad and we headed out the door.
After a few errands mum dropped me off at school just outside of ponyville.
“Have a good first day!” she said waving.
I hugged her and ran inside.
The bell rang and a purple pony walked inside.
“Hello everypony,” said the pony “We have a new student joining us today, Starlit Sun, can you please come to the front?”
I nervously walked to the front of the classroom, I could feel all the eyes looking at me
“Starlit can you tell us a bit about yourself.” the purple pony gleefully asked
“H-hi,” I stuttered, “I am Starlit Sun, I uh live in canterlot, I’m a unicorn but I am part bat pony”
As soon as I said that I heard a pink filly say “Ew, a bat pony? I heard they suck ponies blood.”
“N-No they don’t that’s just a myth” I replied
A grey filly pointed at my fangs
“Ahh!!! She has blood on her teeth!” she screamed
I checked my fangs and found a bit of apple on it
“It’s not blood!” I yelled, “It’s a piece of apple!”
“Why should we trust you?” the grey filly chuckled hoof bumping the pink filly “, You could ju-”
She was cut off by the teacher “That is enough silver spoon!”
“Yes, miss cheerilee.” She groaned.
The bell rang once again and I walked out to the playground however every pony ran away from me when I tried to talk to them until I stumbled into three other fillies playing alone together.
“ Hi,” I sighed expecting them to run away.
“Ah hey there!” the yellow earth pony replied “Your Starlit right?”
“Uh, yes,” I said semi confusedly.
“Woah! Are you really part bat pony?” the orange pegasus said excitedly
“I uh-” I was cut off by the white unicorn
“Woah your mane is like steel!” she said
“Girls, girls, give her some space!” the earth pony said pushing them aside. “I’m apple bloom”
“I’m scootaloo”, the pegasus continued
“And I’m sweetie belle,” the unicorn said lastly.
“AND WE ARE THE CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS!” they shouted in unison
“Hey! You don’t have a cutie mark either!” apple bloom said examining me
“That means…” scootaloo thought for a moment
“Do you want to join the cutie mark crusaders !?” they said in unison again.
“What is the cutie mark crusaders?” I asked confuzzledly.
“It’s a club for fillies to find their special talent and get their cutie marks!” sweetie belle said joyfully.
‘These ponies are really nice, and I do want to make more friends…. ‘ I thought to myself
“YES!” I gleefully shouted “, YES YES YES YES YES!”
"Now that's the spirit!" said Apple bloom ", sweetie belle prepare another uniform!"
"Will do!" sweetie belle replied.
"soooo, how do bat ponies eat?" scootaloo asked
I picked up an apple from my lunchbox and stuck my fang into it, sucking the juicy fluids out of it until it was nothing but core.
"WOAH!" scootaloo yelled ", applebloom did you see that?!"
"Yup!" she replied, "Hey, where are those apples from?"
"my mum says they come from a place called 'sweet apple ac-" I was cut off AGAIN
"That's mah farm!" applebloom replied ", Well my families farm, The apple family!"
"Hey, I know!" I replied, "how about tomorrow we have a play date! I'm sure my mum would be okay with it!"
"sure!" applebloom replied, "we can stay at the CMC Treehouse!"
I gasped "YOU HAVE A TREE HOUSE?"
----------After School--------
Mum picked me up and we teleported home, when we got there I told her all about the cutie mark crusaders, forgetting to tell her that I got bullied. She seemed happy for me and said that she would arrange a playdate tomorrow.
I yawned, school had tired me out a lot, I walked back upstairs and fell asleep.
