//------------------------------// // Chapter 8: Prom // Story: Let Rainbow Show You the Way // by Mister E-Nonymous //------------------------------// Chapter 8: Prom (Rainbow Dash's Point of View) It has been six months that I've been in this world. I've been hoping that I've get home sooner, but I'm not really complaining. Rick and I have been dating. He takes me to places of pure awesomeness. We even went indoor skydiving. It actually felt like I was flying again, but not. Plus, Rick has already got his driver's license. And, because of his deal, his mom agreed to get him a car. We're currently at the car dealership looking at cars. And when we left, Rick and I left in what is known as a Ford Mustang. It is awesome. His car is red, and is a convertible. Rick and I are going to enjoy this ride. We then went to Big 5 to get back to work. Joe was impressed at what we came in. One day at school, it seems that they were preparing the school gym for a dance. A dance known as Prom. Rick and I got tickets, and decided to go. I'm not too sure how to dance in this form, so I had to be taught how to. Luckily, I had a great partner. The night before prom, we had one last practice. Rick and I couldn't have gotten any closer. Rick has agreed to drive us there and back home. We were going to have so much fun there. I bet Pinkie Pie would be able to have a good time. Maybe even improve it if she was there. (Rick's Point of View) (That night...) I was dreaming about me and Rainbow's future if her friends have never come and got her. We were having lots of dates as adults, we had our wedding, Rainbow being pregnant with kids, watching our kids grow up, and having a family vacation on a cruise. This might be my future. "A pleasant dream you have," came a mysterious voice from out of nowhere. The dream had faded to a starry place. I was standing on a path made of stars. I looked around, looking for the source of that voice. "I am right behind you, Richard Murphy." I turned around and behind me was a cartoonish like horse with wings and a horn. Her coat was dark blue, her mane, it was like a starry night, and it was moving in a nonexistent breeze, and she was wearing a black crown behind her horn, a black chest plate with a white crescent moon, silver slippers on all four of her hooves, and she had a mark on her flank. It was of a white crescent moon in front of a black splotch. Her tail was like her mane. Starry night moving in a nonexistent breeze. Was this horse from where Rainbow Dash is from? "I see that you have been taking real good care of one of our subject that ended up in your world by accident," said the horse. "Who are you?" I asked. "Oh, right," said the horse. "I guess introductions are needed. My name is Princess Luna, co-ruler of Equestria and princess of the night. When Twilight Sparkle told us what happened to Rainbow Dash, we have been trying to find her non-stop for the past few days." "Well, at least you were..." I started to say, but then I stopped when I heard her say that. "Wait a minute. You said days?" "Indeed," said Princess Luna. "Is there something troubling you?" "Well, I don't know how to tell you this, but Rainbow Dash has been here for at least six months now," I responded. "She's already used to being a human here." "I thought you were a human," said Princess Luna. "It has been centuries since I have seen another human. I also know of the proper diet of you humans. If it's what you eat, then we won't judge you." "What brings you here?" I asked. "Also, how are you here in my dream?" "As princess of the night, it is my duty to enter the dreams of my subjects and keep them from having terrible nightmares," said Princess Luna. "But, I have come to give you a message to pass onto our missing subject. And since one day in Equestria is actually one month in your world, we shall wait until you two are out of school." "Hey, stay out of my memories," I snapped at her. She then glared at me. I then gave a sorry face. "I apologize for snapping at you. I prefer to have my private moments remaining private." "I understand," said Princess Luna. "But, I do that to get to know my subjects. And, I am sorry to hear what happened to your father. He sounded like a good man." "He was," I responded. "Anyway, back on topic. The message?" "Of course," said Princess Luna. "Anyway, we will arrive there tomorrow. Well, tomorrow for us, a month for you. Be sure to pass this message to Rainbow Dash as soon as the two of you are awake." "I will," I said. I then sighed. Luna noticed my saddened face. "You two are in love with each other, aren't you?" Luna asked. "Yes," I said. "Rainbow Dash and I have vowed that we would never leave each other. But, I guess that our vow will have to be broken." Luna felt sad for me and walked over to me. She then placed a wing over me and said, "Perhaps there is someway for you two to stay together, and be able to be with your families. I may need to have a talk with my sister. How about this?" She then whispered something into my ear. I was surprised at what she said. The next morning, I told Mom and Rainbow Dash about my dream last night. Mom thought it was strange when I told her that dream. Rainbow had something else to say. "I can't believe it," she said. "My friends will be arriving today?" "Next month, actually," I responded. "One day there is one month here. I want to enjoy all this time we have left." "Don't worry, Rick," said Rainbow Dash. "We'll have plenty of time to do so. So let's have as much fun as we can. Anyway, let's get ready for Prom tonight." I nodded and then we headed out. We pre-ordered my tux and Rainbow's dress. We got them, then we went to the hair salon. Rainbow got her hair made up beautifully, and then we went out for dinner at a fish and chips restaurant. We were going to have the best night of our life here. (Rainbow Dash's Point of View) When we arrived, Rick and I were surprised that everyone was cheering that the two of us arrived. Rick and I moved towards the dance floor and we started dancing to the music. Rick and I danced to a lot of different music. We even did some slow dancing. We even kissed. When we kissed, it felt like a Sonic Rainboom went off. No way I'm going to give up Rick, even if I have to leave him. "Attention students," came the voice of the class president, Sheila Summers. "We are about to crown this year's Prom King and Queen. Even though we didn't have prom last year no thanks to Principal Rogers. Now, this year's prom king is... with a 100% vote, Rick Murphy." Everyone cheered for Rick and he asked, "I won? I'm Prom King?" "Who woulda guessed?" I asked him, smirking. "You set this up?" Rick asked me. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me, Rick," I said to him. "I thought something big should have happened to you as well." "Thanks, Rainbow," Rick responded. "And next," Sheila announced, "our prom queen is... Rachel Dash!" Everyone cheered even louder than what they heard. I was surprised myself. But I was surprised. Why did everyone vote for me? We then headed up to the stage, and we received our crowns for Prom. I then asked Sheila, "Why did everyone vote for me as well?" "It's because it wasn't just Rick that stopped Principal Rogers," said Sheila. "You two saved the school from becoming a school for unhappy teens who wanted to do more in life." I then smiled at what she said. We then had one last slow dance. When it was over, we went back to the house, and Rick and I decided to sleep together, again. This was the best night of my life here.
