//------------------------------// // Twinkie vs the Hydra // Story: Elements of Fusion // by niightear //------------------------------// "Is that a hydra?!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Who cares? Run!" Applejack replied. All four ponies galloped away, Spike running behind. Twilight got an idea. "Pinkie, I'm sorry for not believing you!" Twilight exclaimed. "It's pant okay pant Twilight!" the party pony bumped into Twilight as the latter came to a stop. "I know how we can stop the hydra once and for all," Twilight said, "but it might be hard." "Fusing?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight nodded, and Pinkie's eyes lit up. "Really?! This'll be so fun! Okay, let's see... how to get in harmony?" "Maybe... a dance?" Fluttershy suggested. "What in tarnation-a dance? How would a dance get 'em in sync?" Applejack asked, bewildered. "If they dance, they might be able to get in harmony that way... it's an outrageous idea, but it might work." Fluttershy murmured. "Sounds good!" Pinkie exclaimed. Twilight sighed, before twirling around. Pinkie, meanwhile, simply hopped around in a circle, soon becoming a pink tornado. The two ponies bumped into each other, and a glow surrounded them, just like what happened with Rarity and Rainbow Dash a few days prior. Once the light faded, a unicorn with a tidy curly mane and tail, a pinkish-purple coat, and a purple-blue mane with a dark pink streak appeared, a smile wide on her face. "Worry not, my friends," her horn glowed as she put a shield around her friends, "Twinkie is here to save the day!" her voice deepened a bit as she murmured, "Seriously Pinkie? Twinkie?" Just as Pinkie had done before, she spun in a circle, spinning like a tornado. The hydra roared as Twinkie stopped, gulping. "Maybe our magic's more powerful?" she murmured, before shrugging. "Worth a try." Her horn ignited with a purpley-blue aura as she shot a magic beam at the hydra. Three of its heads narrowly dodged the beam, but one was unable to get out of the way, falling to the ground. The three remaining heads almost fell over, but managed to stay up, one supporting the fallen head. The remaining heads lunged at her, and she managed out an, "oh sh-" before getting hit by the heads. Her friends gasped as a dust cloud surrounded the area and Twinkie was nowhere to be seen. But, with another glow, the unicorn hovered herself out of the dust cloud, a few injuries on her. The hydra struggled to get up, and Twinkie giggled, igniting her horn and tying the hydra's heads into a knot, beaming. Letting down the shield her friends were covered with, they ran over to their friend. "Twil-no... Pinki-no... Twinkie, are you okay?!" Spike asked. "I'm fine, Spike!" the unicorn exclaimed. With a glow, she separated into her components. "Oh, Twilight, you're bleeding!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "I'm fine, Fluttershy," Twilight insisted, "Pinkie is, too." "Pinkie never gets hurt, sugarcube," Applejack mused, "even when she logically should, nothin'. No cuts, no bruises, no scabs, nothin'." "Nothing about me is logical, AJ!" Pinkie exclaimed, hopping towards her friend. "Nor is anything about Twinkie logical! Thus why we could tie the hydra's heads into a knot!" As Pinkie spoke, Fluttershy comforted the hydra. "Oh, poor thing... I can help you later, okay?" With a simple growl, the hydra walked away. Before it vanished from sight, Fluttershy called, "Have a good day!" "Pinkie, I'm sorry for not believing your Pinkie Sense, I-" Before Twilight could finish, Pinkie shook again. "Wait just a mite - that wasn't the doozy?" Applejack asked. "I guess I should - if it wasn't for that, Fluttershy could've been in serious danger." Twilight sighed. A few seconds past, and Pinkie didn't shake. "That was the doozy!" she exclaimed. "You believing my Pinkie Sense! Now... can we fuse again!? Oh, or maybe I could fuse with AJ!? Or Fluttershy?! Or Spike?! Or..."
