Chapter 6: Driving Me Crazy

Chapter 6: Driving me Crazy

(Rick's Point of View)

My birthday came to. January 13th. I just turned 16, and mom decided that I should start driving classes at the DMV. It was trouble, but if I was able to finish my driving classes, Mom would buy me a car with all the money. As long as I can keep it up, I'll be able to finish up quickly. I got my Learner's permit, so I can at least drive when there's an adult with a valid driver's license in the car.

Luckily, there's a Driver's Ed class in school to help me learn more and more. It actually helps a lot. Rainbow Dash is in a different class as I'm in here, so she'll be on her own. She was assigned to cooking class. It's better for her to actually know how to cook. If she goes back to Equestria or not, at least she'll know how to cook.

I was also a fast learner, and my teachers are impressed. I've been advancing so well, I'm already past the halfway mark at Groundhog day. And this Friday, Mom said I can take Rainbow Dash to a Drive-in Movie Theater. Mom would allow me to drive her there, but she will be with another group of the studio she's working for. At least Rainbow and I will be by ourselves in the car.

(Rainbow Dash's Point of View)

The movie we went to was awesome! Action, adventure, and thrills! It was really awesome. Rick and I sure are getting closer and closer. When the end credits of the movie came up, we had to wait until Sharon got back into the car. When she did, we headed towards home. Just as we were turning a corner, there was a loud popping noise coming from outside. Rick swerved the steering wheel, trying to keep his driving stable. We pulled into a place called Wendy's.

"Well," Rick said, "it might take me a while to get the tire replaced. Luckily for me, I got taught on how to replace a tire."

"Alright, Rick," Sharon said. "We'll be inside, getting some Frosties."

"What's a Frosty?" I asked.

"It's kinda like a milkshake," Sharon said. "You'll love it."

Sharon and I went inside and ordered up some Frosties. When we got out, Rick was just finishing replacing the tire on the car.

"Mom," Rick said. "I don't think the tire going down was an accident. Look at this."

Sharon and I looked at the tire. There was a small hole on the side of it.

"That looks like... a bullet hole," Sharon said. "This was no accident."

"What?" I asked. "Why would anyone...?" I paused when someone's voice interrupted.

"You two teens ruined my life!"

We turned our heads towards the voice, and we saw the former principal of the school. Instead of his suit, he was wearing an orange jumpsuit. Rick and I exclaimed, "Principal Rogers?!"

"You two are going to pay for what you did to me!" said Principal Rogers.

"Run, run!" Rick said. Then the three of us started running. Principal Rogers chased us into an alley.

"We're trapped!" Sharon said.

"You're going to pay the price for getting me fired and arrested!" said Principal Rogers. "It's time you two payed the price. No witnesses either."

He aimed some weird metal thing, which I was told in that movie we watched earlier that was called a gun, at us. He was going to kill us. I wasn't going to stand here and have my boyfriend and his mom be killed by this psycho. I yelled, "No way you're gonna get away with this! I will give you a clobbering if you don't leave us alone!" For some strange reason, I felt all tingly. I didn't know what was happening, but whatever was, it was freaking the heck out of Principal Rogers.

(Rick's Point of View)

When Rainbow was standing up for us, she started glowing a light blue aura surrounding her. I saw her ears change into equine ears with light blue fur, then light blue wings sprouted from her back, and a rainbow tail sprouted from the end of her tailbone.

"What is this?!" Principal Rogers exclaimed. "Who are you?! What are you?!"

"Where I come from, I'm called Rainbow Dash," she replied. Then she started running around him, making a rainbow trail, which then became a rainbow tornado. Rainbow stopped running and did a pose, and the rainbow tornado kept going and it headed towards an open dumpster. Rainbow looked at us, and saw that we had shocked faces. "What?"

"Rainbow," I said. "Your ears changed, and you sprouted wings and a tail."

Then Rainbow looked behind her and saw her wings and tail. Then she reached her ears, and felt her changed ears. She then smiled and said, "This is awesome!" Then she looked back at Principal Rogers and said, "Maybe we should alert the authorities before he recovers."

"Good idea," I said, pulling out my phone.

The police arrived here twenty minutes after I called him. Luckily, Rainbow went back to full human form before they arrived.

"Thanks for the call, young man," said the officer. "He just escaped from prison two nights ago."

"No way this guy was going to get rid of us that easily," I said. "Principal Rogers is going to be taken away for his crimes."

"That girl there!" Principal Rogers said as he was being loaded into the police car. "She's a weird demon I tell you! A demon!"

"That's it," said the officer. "This guy's not going to jail. He's going to a psychiatric hospital for crazy people."

"I'm not crazy!" shouted Principal Rogers.

We got home, and Rainbow was impressed at what happened. Although, when we checked her back, it seemed that the wings she sprouted didn't rip her clothes. We also told her that she was going faster than any human would go normally. The fastest runner in the world, Usain Bolt; who ran the 100 meter dash in 9.58 seconds, wouldn't even be able to keep up with her. She'd beat him, and lap him 100 times before he could finish.

"I'm as surprised as you are," Rainbow said. "I never knew I could bring back some of my pony parts. My ears, my wings, and my tail? This is amazing!"

"Rainbow," I said. "I don't think you should be doing whatever you been doing often."

"Why not?" Rainbow asked. "I should at least feel free to be myself."

"Which might be a problem," I said. "If anyone finds out about this, you might be taken away, experimented and dissected. You could be killed if you expose that secret."

Rainbow paused and thought about it. She then went to a sad face, and then said, "Wow. I guess I never thought about it. Yeah, I can be... a bit of a showoff. Guess I have deserved it when I was overshadowed by 'Mare Do Well.'" I was confused about that. She saw my confused look and said, "I'll tell you about it later."

"I don't want to lose you, Rainbow Dash," I said. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."

She then started tearing up, and she hugged me tightly. She responded, "I don't want to lose you either, Rick. I'll be careful if this comes up."

"I won't let you be taken away," I said. "Now, let's get to bed. It's been a long day."

"Yeah," said Rainbow. "Let's go."

We then headed to our rooms, and went directly to bed.
