//------------------------------// // Chapter 5: When Moving gets Frustrating // Story: Let Rainbow Show You the Way // by Mister E-Nonymous //------------------------------// Chapter 5: When Moving gets Frustrating (Rainbow Dash's Point of View) A new year has started, a lot of things came back to this school, and Rick and I got closer and closer. Guess I'm getting used to being a human. I don't know how long Twi is taking on trying to get me home to Equestria, but I'm already enjoying myself. Besides, what can go wrong? I probably shouldn't have said that. "We're moving?!" Rick said. Apparently, this news came to us when we got back home. "I'm sorry, Rick," Sharon said. "But, my boss wants me to do one last location for my job." "You said that last time," Rick said. "And the time before that. We've been moving a lot, and I'm tired of it. For once, I want to stay in one place." "Wait a minute," I said. "How many times have you moved?" "Seven times due to work," said Sharon. "But how many times did you say that this will be our final move?" I asked. "Ever since... Las Vegas," Rick said. "Las Vegas?" I asked. "Back in Equestria, we had a similar city called Las Pegasus. Let me guess, it's a gambling place?" "Yep," said Rick. "Anyway, back on topic." "Right," I said. "Anyway, I think that your boss doesn't care if you want to stay in the same place. You guys have been moving from place to place. I think it's time for you to find a place to permanently stay." Rick and Sharon thought a lot about that. Sharon thought about it, and nodded. "I'll see what I can do," said Sharon. "If my boss gives me a response that doesn't please me, I'll quit. I'll find myself a new job here in Los Angeles, and we'll do a lot of things around here." "Mom, you're literally have a degree in script writing," Rick said. "Why not find a job at the movie studios since we're so close to Hollywood?" "I hope I can," Sharon said. "I'll see what happens." Let's just hope that things go good for Rick and his mom. Then I just realized something. "Wait a minute," I said. "Sharon, who's your boss?" "I don't know," Sharon said. "My boss has always been telling me where to go, and I never seen his face. I wonder why." This got me to thinking. Maybe I should go with her to see what's going on. The next morning, Sharon and I went to the place where she is working. Apparently, her boss is cooperated here in Los Angeles. We walked into the office, and we headed directly to the boss's office. Who we saw was surprising for Sharon. "Charles Sanders?" Sharon asked. "Who?" I asked. "He's an ex-boyfriend of mine," Sharon said. "He's been pushing me so far when we were younger. I've never wanted to be apart of anything with him. Guess I was wrong." "And there's no way you're getting out of this this time, Sharon," Mr. Sanders said. "I have you right where I want you. But since you tried getting away from me years ago, I'll give you a permanent home... in Alaska. Let's see how you and your son and this... enthusiastic girl like staying in Alaska." "That's it," Sharon said. "I quit. Let's go, Rachel." Sharon and I started heading out, but then the sound of Charles chuckling, making the both of us stop. He then said, "You can't quit. The contract you signed said that I own you for the next thirty years. You're mine, Sharon. I told you, I wouldn't stop until you're mine. Now that you are, I'm not letting you go." Then another man walked in and said, "Charles? You've been stalking this woman for years, saying that you own her?" "Gah! Mr. Brock!" Charles said. "It's... It's not how it..." "Really?" the man known as Mr. Brock asked. "Because it looks like you're trying to force the woman you stalked is wanting to get away from you and trying to keep her as a trophy." "Well, she just can't..." Charles tried arguing. "If she doesn't want to work with you anymore, than you shouldn't force her to," Mr. Brock said. "You're demoted to her position, and are going to Alaska in her place, and signed there permanently." "WHAT?!" Charles said. "If you want to quit, I understand, Mrs. Murphy," Mr. Brock said to Sharon. "What are you interested in?" "Well, my son says that I should be involved in script writing," Sharon said. "Actually, my cousin happens to be a director of a new show that he's starting," Mr. Brock said. "He really needs some script writers. I'll put up a good word for you." "Thank you, Mr. Brock," Sharon said. We then left. Two weeks later, Sharon got a much better job with a much better pay. Rick got a much bigger allowance than he normally got. He is still working at Big 5, I'm not sure why, but I think he has something big planned for me.
